Israel orders evacuation of Gaza residents in eastern Khan Younis despite designation as safe zone

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed in a statement that “the presence of multiple military operations and rocket fire from the eastern part of the humanitarian zone has made staying there dangerous”.

“Therefore, the army calls on residents who remain in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis to evacuate immediately to the newly designated humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi,” he added.

China ambassador to Tehran says Chinese firms willing to invest in Iran

In a meeting with an Iranian media delegation, Zong Peiwu called on Iranian media to introduce the economic activities of Chinese companies in Iran and added that this cooperation is beneficial for both parties.

Referring to the comprehensive 25-year cooperation plan between the two countries signed in 2021, Zong Peiwu said that to implement this plan, we must successfully carry out the projects currently on the agenda. For instance, we can continue cooperation within the framework of China’s “Belt and Road Initiative.”

The Chinese ambassador also welcomed the export of high-quality agricultural products from Iran to his country and added that a channel for importing Iranian products was opened last year.

He stated that the volume of trade between Iran and China exceeds that of Iran and all European countries combined, adding that China has been Iran’s largest trading partner for several consecutive years, and Iran is one of China’s most important export destinations.

The Chinese ambassador also considered the role of international mechanisms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS important for deepening relations between Tehran and Beijing.

In another part of his speech, Zong Peiwu highlighted the importance of the Iran nuclear agreement (JCPOA) in preventing international proliferation and said that the JCPOA member countries that caused its failure and did not fulfill their promises must rectify their mistakes and pave the way for the revival of the JCPOA.

The Chinese ambassador also emphasized the creation of an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital, within the 1967 borders and based on United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Rad was born in 1944 in the Iranian capital Tehran and took up acting at the age of 25. He left Iran in 1986 and lived in Canada but returned in 2000 to pursue his career in his homeland.

The first-ever visit to Syria by a Russian head of state (including the Soviet era) was paid by Dmitry Medvedev, the then Russian president, in May 2010. Putin visited Syria in the capacity of the Russian head of state in 2017 and 2020.

President-elect: States sanctioning Iran used to arm its enemy with chemical weapons

Pezeshkian made the remarks in a post on X on Sunday., saying, “Those, who are enforcing sanctions on the people of Iran under hollow pretexts, are the same ones that used to provide chemical weapons to the country’s enemy.”

Pezeshkian passed the comments on the anniversary of the chemical bombardment of Zardeh Village in the western Iranian province of Kermanshah by invading Iraqi forces in July 1988.

At least 275 people were reportedly killed and some 1,146 others injured in the attack. The incident saw one of the bombs landing inside the village’s fountain, critically poisoning many of the locals.

The bombing took place during invasion of the country by neighboring Iraq, which was being led by former dictator Saddam Hussein.

The Iraqi military was being heavily armed by Western countries during the invasion that lasted from 1980 to 1988.

The weapon procurers included the United States, West Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and France, which outfitted the military with chemical weapons among other types of deadly equipment.

An estimated 50,000 people died from the Iraqi forces’ ample deployment of the chemical arms against the Islamic Republic. Current estimates, though, put the number of the fatalities at more than 100,000, as the long-term effects continue to take their toll on those afflicted.

Netanyahu is reportedly also set to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been endorsed by Biden to become the new Democratic nominee for the November elections, according to the Washington Post.

On Sunday, Biden announced that he would not seek re-election following weeks of pressure over his mental and physical state. In a statement published on his X (formerly Twitter) page, he said that the decision was “in the best interest” of the Democratic Party and “the country”. However, he ruled out resignation, saying his intention is “to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term”.

Following the announcement, Israeli President Isaac Herzog took to X to thank Biden for his “friendship and steadfast support for the Israeli people over his decades-long career”.

“As the first US President to visit Israel in wartime, as a recipient of the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor, and as a true ally of the Jewish people, he is a symbol of the unbreakable bond between our two peoples,” Herzog wrote.

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also thanked Biden for his “unwavering support of Israel over the years”.

“Your steadfast backing, especially during the war, has been invaluable. We are grateful for your leadership and friendship,” he added, after wishing Netanyahu “good luck” during his upcoming trip to the US.

Turkey denies Israel’s claims about arming Hamas as ‘lies’

The angry rebuttal came after Israel’s Foreign Minister Katz accused President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of “supplying arms and money to Hamas to kill Israelis”.

In a post on X in Turkish, Katz claimed that Israeli security services had dismantled “terrorist cells” that were “under directions from Hamas headquarters in Turkey”.

In response, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry announced that Israel’s top diplomat was “trying to conceal the crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinians behind a series of lies, slander and disrespect”.

“But Israel’s dirty propaganda and psychological pressure aimed at our country and our president will remain ineffective,” the ministry’s statement added.

Erdogan on Sunday stated Israel must face punishment for its actions to deter anyone “from considering such cruelty again”.

“Israel must face the consequences of its actions, ensuring that the punishment serves as a stark deterrent against anyone considering such cruelty again,” Erdogan was quoted as saying on Sunday.

The Turkish president urged the United States to exert pressure on Israel to end the “oppression” in Gaza.

“To end this oppression, it is necessary for the US administration to pressure Israel and withdraw its support from murderer Netanyahu and his associates,” Erdogan added.

Turkey has repeatedly condemned Israel’s assault on Gaza and criticized Western governments for their continued backing of the Zionist regime. Ankara halted trade with Tel Aviv soon after the war began last October.

Houthi leader claims Yemen more capable than ever to deal blows to Israel

Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi made the remarks in a speech on Sunday, a day after Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes against Yemen’s strategic western province of Hudaydah, in retaliation for an earlier drone strike by Yemeni armed forces against Tel Aviv.

“Yemeni people are pleased to be in direct confrontation with the Israeli enemy, and they are steadfast and brave people,” the Houthi chief said, stressing that Israel cannot stop Yemen’s support for Gaza.

He went on to say that American and British warplanes continue to bomb Yemen in an attempt to stop the country’s anti-Israeli operations, launching 4 airstrikes in the port of Ras Issa in Hudaydah.

Houthi further noted that Israel’s aggression on Hudaydah “was aimed at Yemen’s economy,” arguing that the regime’s choice of targets in the port city proved it intended to harm the Yemeni’s livelihood.

He added that Israel sought to portray strikes as a “great achievement'” and “dealing a blow” to Yemen by showing the scenes of burning fires.

The Ansurallah leader emphasized that the US and UK have failed to stop or even weaken Yemen’s operations in support of Gaza, vowing to expand the scope of its operations as the genocidal war in Gaza continues.

Houthi also stressed that there needs to be more pressure to force Israel to stop its brutal aggression on Gaza as the war enters its tenth month.

The latest remarks came after Yemen’s Ministry of Public Health and Population announced the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Hudaydah has risen to six.

Anis al-Asbahi, the Health Ministry spokesperson, said the victims were civilians, adding that 83 others have been injured, most of them seriously, while three people were also missing.

On Saturday, Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes against Hudaydah, with Yemen’s al-Masirah television network reporting that the attack targeted fuel storage facilities in the port city, igniting a fire in the area.

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari stated that Israeli fighter jets attacked military targets in Hudaydah. He added the airstrikes were in response to the hundreds of attacks against Israel in recent months.

It was the first time the Israeli regime had publicly attacked Yemen in months of escalating tensions.

The aggression came a day after the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a drone strike on Tel Aviv in response to the Israeli genocide in Gaza. The drone hit an area near a US consular facility in Tel Aviv early on Friday, killing one person and injuring 10 others as the Israeli air defenses failed to intercept the drone.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7.

Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed almost 39,000 people and wounded another 90,000 individuals, come to an end.

Furthermore, the number of exporting companies has quadrupled, and the variety of exported products has doubled, indicating a strong and diverse international market presence.

Firouzabadi emphasized that these accomplishments reflect a strategic shift in the country’s approach to fostering a knowledge-based economy. “The focus on enhancing both domestic and international market presence is paving the way for Iran to become a significant player in the global knowledge-based economy,” he concluded.
