Old ISIS Terrorists Execute Syrian Troopers

isis-Daesh

According to a report by Ahl-ul-Bayt News Agency, as translated by IFP, the video of the old ISIS elements executing the Syrian troopers came after another shocking video that shows five child ISIS terrorists executing a number of prisoners.

The video released by the terrorist group reportedly shows a number of children, including a British boy, executing prisoners with handguns in Syria.

The blue-eyed white boy, identified in the video as Abu Abdullah al-Britani, is one of five children carrying out executions of Kurds in the city of Raqqa.

The boys, believed to be from Britain, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Uzbekistan, make statements in Arabic before raising their handguns and executing the kneeling men in front of them.

The child executioners, believed to be about 10 to 13 years old, are clad in camouflage gear and black gloves and their faces are clearly on display, Press TV reported.

One of the boys reportedly shouts in Arabic, “No one can save the Kurds even with the support of America, France, Britain, Germany, the devils in hell.”

They then place handguns to the backs of the prisoners’ heads and pull the trigger.

Children have regularly featured in ISIS propaganda in which the terrorist organization boasts about preparing the next generation of militants.

Iran Seeking Major Financial Reforms: CBI Chief

Valiollah Seif

Addressing the 30th meeting of South East Asia, New Zealand, Australia (SEANZA) governors’ meeting in Nepal, Seif said the Central of Bank of Iran has plans to restructure the supervision section and supervise the individual institutions more closely through periodic and occasional inspections.

He also noted that the CBI is going to host the 31st governors’ symposium in Tehran in 2017 as part of plans to promote and support SEANZA.

SEANZA is one of the oldest and largest regional central bank groups, established after a 1956 meeting of central bank governors from the Asia-Oceanic region. The number of its members had grown from the original five to 20.

The following is the full text of Iranian official’s speech to the gathering:

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Your Excellency Governor Chiranjibi, dear governors, distinguished delegates, ladies and gentlemen,

First of all, allow me to express my deepest gratitude to our host for the excellent arrangements made and for the opportunity provided to attend this auspicious gathering. It is my great pleasure to join this cordial meeting of distinguished governors. SEANZA provides an excellent opportunity to share views and closely learn about developments in member countries. Quick changes of global and regional markets, especially after the financial crisis, highlight the necessity, the relevance and the value of this forum. Enhanced regional and global cooperation is necessary to counter the banking and financial crises in the face of the interconnected financial markets. It is also imperative to increase interactions and cooperation to ensure smooth handling of the regulations and supervision of the financial markets and institutions and prevent regulatory arbitrage in this fast and open global economy.

All the points mentioned, as well as the whole host of other issues relevant to central banking, make the future outlook for the SEANZA more apt to play a vital role in provision of an opportunity to address issues of interest among members and hopefully come up with initiatives to deal with them.

I will try to mention only one issue here as an example;

De-banking and closure of our banks’ correspondent bank accounts with its grave consequences and its potential impact on payment systems and regional trade is a very important issue that can be addressed in such forums as SEANZA.

There are many other issues of such nature that I suggest to be taken stock of and reviewed for further consideration by distinguished delegates.

In line with its deep desire to promote and support SEANZA, The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran (CBI) volunteered to host the 31st Governors’ Symposium in Tehran and it will be an honor for us to host the next forum for 2017.

Allow me to briefly advise that after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and P5+1 in January 2016 and termination of all nuclear related sanctions, Iran is fully open for business including in banking, finance and foreign investment.

For your kind information, the Iranian banking system adopted the risk-based Basel I capital adequacy accord. Iran is trying to design a framework for comprehensive financial sector reforms including changing laws and regulations of the banking sector and the Central Bank. Many initiatives are underway to prepare for eventual migration to Basel II & III. We have taken on broad stress testing and asset reclassification. Provisioning requirement scenarios have been tightened to bring these in line with best practice standards. Transparency and disclosure requirements have been made more demanding by requiring banks and credit institutions to prepare their financial statements according to IFRS.

Because of prompt changes and complexities in financial and banking environment, it is necessary to improve our supervision accordingly. So we have restructured the supervision section and added some new departments with clear tasks and responsibilities. CBI has also placed emphasis on further strengthening supervision of individual institutions through periodic and occasional inspections.

For the past three years, the Iranian economy has managed to achieve many important goals. Inflation rate has been lowered to around 9% from above 40% in mid-2013. Foreign exchange market has been very calm and stable. It should be noted that oil-exporting countries faced a significant drop of oil prices in early 2013. However, Iran managed to safeguard its national currency and preserve its foreign exchange reserves.

By successful curbing of inflation expectations, CBI managed to complete the process of painless disinflation toward a single-digit rate while securing a positive economic growth rate. We anticipate a GDP growth of 5% for this Iranian year (i.e. 2016 and early 2017). Exchange rate unification is another priority to be realized this year. A calm and stable foreign exchange market together with better international banking correspondence after JCPOA have provided favorable conditions for successful implementation of exchange rate unification policy which will boost our export and GDP growth in future.

Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to the distinguished Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank and all his respectable colleagues for their kind hospitality in this beautiful city. I hope that we will be able to meet the high standard set in the next SEANZA meeting in Iran.

Thank you

Iraqi Town of Qayyarah after Being Cleansed of ISIS Terrorists (+Photos)

Qayyareh8

“We control all parts of the town and managed, in very limited time, to root out ISIS,” Lieutenant General Riyadh Jalal Tawfik, who commands Iraq’s ground forces, was quoted by AFP as saying on Thursday, August 25.

The Iraqi troops launched the Qayarah operation on Tuesday, more than a month after retaking the Qayyarah air field, Press TV reported.

Qayyarah, which fell to ISIS in 2014, lies on the western bank of Tigris River, some 60 kilometers (35 miles) south of Mosul. The town is expected to be used as a launch-pad for the upcoming operation in Mosul.

Here are Fars News’ photos of the town after being liberated:

1,500 Iranians Discouraged from Joining ISIS: Minister

alavi

“We identified over 1,500 Iranian young men who intended to join the ISIS and prevented them from doing so…,” Alavi said on Friday, August 26, as reported by Fars.

The Iranian intelligence minister reiterated that his ministry will not allow the terrorist groups to engage in any kind of activity in Iran.

He underlined that Iran is fully monitoring the activities of the terrorist teams and prevents them from disrupting security in the country.

“Establishing security in the country is the most important responsibility of an Islamic Establishment,” Alavi said, referring to a quotation by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that said a society without security does not bring welfare and blessing for its people.

“When the Intelligence Ministry realizes that some people are about to join terrorist groups, it goes after them before they join, and persuade them that they are wrong,” he noted.

On Thursday, August 24, Alavi announced that Abu Hafs al-Baloushi, the ringleader of the separatist terrorist group Ansar al-Forqan, was killed by the Iranian security forces.

Abu Hafs al-Baloushi, whose ID card name was Hosham Azizi, was killed and his comrades were arrested in different parts of Iran, Alavi said.

He also said that the Saudi spy agency has created 12 terrorist cells each of them consisting of 10 members to foment insecurity in Iran, and said Riyadh gives the terrorists $500,000 for any operation in Iran, pays any of the terrorists $2,000 to $3,000 every month and provides the families of the killed terrorists with $10,000 in cash.

The terror organization released another gruesome video in July last year that showed executions of 25 Syrian soldiers at the hands of children.
About 50 British children are reportedly being groomed to become ISIS militants, according to the Quilliam Foundation, a London-based think tank which claims to challenge extremism in the UK.
British authorities say that at least 800 UK nationals have travelled to Syria and Iraq to fight alongside the terror groups operating in those countries.

Turkish PM Compares Erdogan to Ottoman Sultan

Turkey Erdogan and PM

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim made the comparison during the opening of a new bridge over the Bosphorus Strait between Europe and Asia in Istanbul on Friday.

Erdogan has “made cars pass beneath sea” as Mehmet the Conqueror carried ships over land, Yildirim said.

He was referring to the Ottoman ruler’s carrying of ships overland to avoid capture during his seizure of Constantinople in 1453 and inauguration under Erdogan in 2013 of a metro line passing beneath the Bosphorus Strait.

Yildirim’s comments came during the opening ceremony of the third bridge over the strait between Europe and Asia in Istanbul, which follows the tradition of the first one built in 1973 and the second in 1988.

Addressing the event, Erdogan himself said, “We are connecting continents with the bridge,” adding, “People die but their work remain immortal.”

“To attain the level of a civilized nation is not possible with words but with actions,” said Erdogan, who has dominated Turkey from 2003-2014 as premier and from 2014 as president.

Upon conquering Constantinople, Mehmet called himself “Caesar” of the Roman Empire on the ground that the city served as the empire’s seat and capital.

The Turkish head of state has been blamed by critics for harboring empire-building ambitions similar to the ones nurtured by the rulers of the Ottoman Era.

The bridge is named after the 16th century Ottoman Sultan Selim I, who conquered swathes of the Middle East during his eight-year rule in 1500s.

The sultan realized much of his conquests in the region after he vanquished the empire’s opponents in modern-day Syria in 1516.

Turkey invaded Syria on Wednesday to purportedly target Takfiri terrorists and Kurdish fighters on the anniversary of the historic battle.

During the inauguration of the bridge, Erdogan said Turkey will continue its operations inside Syria until all terrorist groups are eliminated.

Earlier this year, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said his Turkish counterpart represented the Ottomans who massacred Armenians a century ago.

He said the Turkish leader and his government were using the same tool as was used in the killing of Armenians against the Syrian people, referring to Ankara’s widely-reported support of militants.

Iran FM, Bolivia President Discuss Issues of Common Interest

Zarif and Bolivin President

During the meeting in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz on Friday, the two senior officials exchanged views about issues of common interest.

Zarif and Bolivia PresidentLater in the day, the Iranian foreign minister and his Bolivian counterpart, David Choquehuanca, attended the opening ceremony of the first trade and investment meeting of Iran and Bolivia.

Zarif delivered a speech at the biggest economic meeting between the two countries in the presence of nearly 200 businessmen and economic activists of the Iranian and Bolivian state and private sectors.

Following the Iranian minister’s speech, Choquehuanca awarded Bolivia’s highest state medal, Cóndor de los andes, to Zarif.

Meanwhile, Iran and Bolivia signed a document for cooperation in the space sector in the presence of the two foreign ministers.

Zarif kicked off his six-nation Latin American tour on Monday at the head of a high-ranking politico-economic delegation comprising 120 businessmen and financial executives from government and private sectors. The tour started off in Cuba where he met with Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez and the country’s President Raul Castro.

The Iranian foreign minister also paid visits to Nicaragua and Ecuador. He wrapped up his trip to Chile and arrived in Bolivia on Friday and will also visit Venezuela on the final leg of his tour.

The Bolivian president paid a visit to Tehran in November 2015 to attend the third summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). The fourth GECF summit is due in Bolivia in 2017. Morales also met with senior Iranian officials including Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Renowned Iranian Actor, Rashidi, Passes Away at 83

Davoud Rashidi

Rashidi’s daughter, Leili, who is also an actress, said on Friday that the award-winning actor had succumbed to a cardiac arrest earlier in the day.

Rashidi had long been housebound suffering from the Alzheimer’s for several years before his demise in Tehran.

Born in 1933 in Tehran, the notable veteran artist had played starring roles in theatre, cinema and television productions.

He graduated with a degree in political science from the University of Geneva in 1960 and also attended the school of theatre in Geneva.

The iconic figure of the Iranian cinema had been awarded the first class Order of Culture and Art.

Rashidi starred in numerous cinema movies and television series, including Kamalolmolk, Hezardastan, Velayat-e Eshq and Atr-e Gol-e Yas.

He also featured in plays such as Waiting for Godot, Richard III, Victory in Chicago, Minus Two, and Who is Mr. Schmit?

Rouhani’s Message on Rashidi’s Death

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed his condolences over Rashidi’s death.

In a message on Friday, he said that Rashidi played “a valuable role in promoting culture and art” in Iran and his grand and magnificent works had helped him become “an eternal figure in the artistic history of the country.”

The Iranian president expressed hope that the “perseverance and artistry of Davoud Rashidi in creating lasting works would set an example for the young artists of our country.”
