Iranian Delegation Visits Rohingya Refugee Camp in Bangladesh

The team also met with a group of residents of these camps and got aware of their latest situation.

Moreover, the distribution of Iran’s humanitarian aid for the Myanmarese refugees, which had been handed over to Bangladeshi authorities yesterday, began in the presence of the Iranian delegation.

The Rohingya, described as “the world’s most persecuted minority,” have been denied citizenship in Myanmar, which has effectively rendered them stateless.

The United Nations says nearly 400,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh since August 25 due to a fresh wave of violence and persecution.

Iran President Calls on Europe to Press US for Nuclear Deal Commitment

Iran President Calls on Europe to Press US for Nuclear Deal Commitment

“We expect the European Union, firstly, to carry out the JCPOA deal completely, and secondly, to press the US to honor its commitments under the JCPOA,” President Rouhani said on Saturday, stressing that Washington should be given a decisive message.

He made the comments in a meeting with President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives Siegfried Bracke, here in Tehran.

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency reports, Iran has fully honored its commitments under the JCPOA, the nuclear accord between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), the president added, stressing that all of the other parties to the deal should also fulfill their undertakings.

He also referred to the IAEA as the only entity that is authorized to verify Iran’s compliance with the nuclear agreement, in an apparent reaction to the US president who has repeatedly accused Iran of violating the spirit of the JCPOA.

Elsewhere in his comments, President Rouhani voiced his administration’s resolve to broaden ties with the EU, hoping that friendly countries, including Belgium, would participate more actively in the economic and trade interaction with Iran.

Bracke, for his part, said Belgium is determined to expand relations with Iran.

Highlighting the significance that Belgium and the EU attach to the JCPOA, the Belgian official said the European Union would do its utmost to fulfil the JCPOA undertakings.

Iran and the six powers reached a conclusion over the text of the nuclear deal in July 2015 and implemented it in January 2016.

Under the agreement, certain limits have been put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all nuclear-related bans against Tehran.

In all of its reports after coming into force of the JCPOA, the IAEA has verified the non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran as well as the Islamic Republic’s commitment to the nuclear deal.

Iran Joins Countries Having Flight Simulator Technology

Iran Joins Countries Having Flight Simulator Technology

Researchers from Tarbiat Modares University of Tehran have managed to design and manufacture this special flight simulation instrument, ISNA reports.

The flight simulator was unveiled Tuesday, September 12, in the presence of Dr Vahid Ahmadi, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology at the University of Tarbiat Modares.

Mohammad Rostami, one of the researchers of this project, told reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony that the Cessna-172 is a small educational aircraft.

He said that the technology had been imported from abroad so far, adding that some air tragedies happened due to the lack of such system.

“By this project, we succeeded in localizing this device.”

“The technology has already been available to countries such as the Netherlands, France, Japan, the United States and Germany, and Iran is the sixth country having this technology,” Rostami underlined.

Rostami also stressed that before the production of this technology, there was a software system for it in the country, but its hardware was imported.

Tarbiat Modares University, within the framework of a research project, managed to design and manufacture the flight simulation instrument in two years, he added.

According to him, the use of this technology will reduce costs by as much as two-thirds.

Iran, P5+1 Foreign Ministers to Hold Meeting This Week

The high-ranking Iranian diplomat said that the event was confirmed at the meeting of the Deputy Foreign ministers and other officials of Iran and the P5+1 in Vienna.

The official added that as the foreign ministers of the seven countries plus the EU Foreign Policy Chief would be in New York this week, all of them have agreed to hold a meeting on the nuclear deal, known as JCPOA.

“Iran has also emphasized the need for such meetings in light of recent violations of the JCPOA implementation by the United States in recent months.”

According to a Farsi report by ISNA, this is the second time that the meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran and the P5+1 is going to be held in New York. The previous meeting was during the administration of Barack Obama, who was supporting the agreement and its implementation.

However, this meeting is going to be held during the Tramp administration, which opposes the nuclear deal and is seeking to disrupt it.

The US is participating in the meeting in a situation that it extended the suspension of its sanctions on Iran for another three-month period on Thursday.

According to ISNA, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the deputy foreign ministers of Iran, as well as Pejman Rahimian, the Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, along with a number of other experts have headed to New York to attend the 9th Joint Commission of the JCPOA.

The Joint Commission is likely to be held in New York on Tuesday in a situation that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his American counterpart Rex Tillerson are reportedly expected to meet on the sidelines of the 72nd annual session of the UN General Assembly.

Foreign Policy reported on Friday that Tillerson would hold his first meeting on the Iran nuclear deal with Zarif and other parties to the nuclear deal, which is officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

High-ranking officials from 193 countries will gather September 19 for a week of speeches at the annual UN General Assembly in New York.

British Priest Translates Renowned Muslim Book into English

British Christian Priest Translates Renowned Muslim Book into English

Mohammad Reza Fakhr Rouhani, a faculty member at Qom University, says a thin but very important collection was unveiled during the second International Congress of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) (Prophet Muhammad’s infallible family).

According to a Farsi report by the International Quran News Agency (IQNA), he said the book is a British priest’s translation of 169 sermons from Imam Ali (AS) selected from Ghurar al-Hikam wa Durar al-Kalim book.

“This book was translated [into English] by the priest at a time when there was no positive look at Islam in the church and among Christians, and the author himself did not have a positive look at it either. But the words of Imam are so great that he wrote an introduction to the translation and said that these sermons are more valuable than all human experiences throughout history,” Fakhr Rouhani pointed out.

This university professor stated that a new edition of the book will be unveiled along with an introduction written on it during the conference.

Fakhr Rouhani referred to the remarks made by Bishop Sarkisian at the congress of Imam Ali (AS), adding that he (Sarkisian) has wrote a master’s thesis on Imam Ali (AS) and a PhD dissertation on Imam Hussein (AS) and the topic he was going to talk about at the conference was Imam Ali’s social justice.

He also highlighted that they have talked with two Christian priests in Lebanon and Switzerland who had made good remarks on Imam Ali (AS), while some from various countries have sent papers in Arabic and English.

The Ghurar al-Hikam wa Durar al-Kalim (‎literally “Exalted Aphorisms and Pearls of Speech”) is the most comprehensive collection of short quotations and aphorisms by Ali ibn Abi Talib. It contains about 11,000 short sayings.

Kurdish Independence Referendum Plot by US, Israel: Iranian Cleric

Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami

“The independence referendum in the Kurdistan Region is an age-old dream cherished by the global arrogance (the US) to create another Israel in the region,” Ayatollah Khatami said, addressing a huge gathering of worshipers in Tehran on Friday.

However, they (the US and Israel) will never see their dreams come true, the cleric added.

The Zionist regime’s officials have openly supported the referendum, he said, adding that however, governments in Iran, Iraq, and Turkey have expressed their strong opposition to the referendum.

He further expressed the hope that the authorities in Kurdistan Region would come to their senses and give up the Israeli plot.

Officials in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region have said the northern territory would hold the independence referendum on September 25.

Masoud Barzani, the president of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), announced the vote on June 7.

Earlier this month, Iraqi parliamentarians have rejected the legitimacy of the vote and the central government in Baghdad which is strongly opposed to this move has said it will do everything possible to keep the unity of the country intact.

Iraq’s neighbors, including Iran and Turkey, are also strongly opposed to such a move.
