Speaking during a meeting with Iranian officials in charge of the 2017 Hajj in Tehran on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said that there was a very dangerous, active, and well-equipped anti-Iran front.

“The Islamic establishment has enough capacity and capability to stand against and counter this front, and the Hajj opportunity is the best advertisement platform to establish contact with the world’s people and neutralize the other side’s propaganda,” the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the Riyadh regime’s initiatives to cancel or undermine Iranian ceremonies on the sidelines of the Hajj and said, “Today, in the Muslim world, there are numerous intellectuals who want to hear the truth from the Islamic Republic.”

Thus, he said, those in charge of the Hajj should speak to the audience, with “an effective literature, good tone, and deep reasoning,” about such important issues as “fighting arrogance, exposing the nature of the West, and distancing oneself away from the enemies of Islam.”

With the extent of negative propaganda against Iran, the existence of ambiguities in the minds of ordinary people is “natural,” Ayatollah Khamenei noted, adding, however, that authorities had to remove those ambiguities by establishing contact with people.

Speaking at the inauguration of the office, the head of the TCCIMA, Masoud Khansari, said following the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), more than 200 foreign trade delegations traveled to Iran and the TCCIMA hosted over 60 of them.

He also pointed to recent achievements of Iran in attracting foreign investments, and said, “We have established good relations with a large number of well-known insurers in the world.”

“Last month, more than $30 billion credit lines were given to Iran by South Korea, Austria, China, Denmark,” he said, adding that the figures are likely to increase further.

The head of the TCCIMA also said that according to the latest data released by the European Commission, bilateral trade between Iran and the European Union (EU) over the first six months of 2017 has nearly doubled but Iran expected the figure to increase more than that.

The remarks come against the backdrop of a new wave of interest in ties with Iran since Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015 reached a conclusion over the text of the JCPOA and started implementing it on January 16, 2016.

The comprehensive nuclear deal terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.

However, Iranian officials have complained about the failure of the other side, especially the US, to fully implement the accord, as Iran still has problems in its banking transactions with other countries.

The top story in today’s newspapers was the tragic deaths of nearly 60 people in Las Vegas shooting, the deadliest such incident in the US history.

Newspapers also covered the remarks made by a number of Iranian lawmakers who raised the possibility of changing Iran’s system of government to a parliamentary one if OK’d by the Leader. The MPs say they may write a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei, asking him to call for a revision in the Constitution.

Iran to Mark 75th Anniversary of Hosting Polish WWII Refugees

Co-organized by Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Poland’s Ministry for Culture and National Heritage as well as the Municipality of Iran’s Isfahan, the events are expected to be held in Isfahan and the Iranian capital of Tehran, according to a Farsi report by Mehr New Agency.

The most important event is an exhibition which is set to premiere some historical photos. The exhibition titled “Poles, the Children of Isfahan Back in Iran after 75 Years” has been organized to mark the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Polish refugees in Iran.

The collection comprises photos depicting the Polish refugees in groups and singles in their daily life. Part of the collection also includes the portraits Poles Jala had taken at his atelier.

The exhibition is expected to open on October 6 in Tehran and October 10 in Isfahan.

During the World War II, up to two million Polish civilians were arrested by the Soviet secret police and deported to Siberia and Kazakhstan. Many did not survive the long journey (lasting many weeks) by cattle train; many more died during their imprisonment.

Others simply failed to get out after finally being freed from the Soviet gulags. A total of 116,000 Polish people, 3,000 of whom were orphans, escaped from the Soviet Union to Iran, starting a new life in Isfahan.

Iran FM, Emir of Qatar Hold Talks in Doha

During the Tuesday meeting, Zarif and Sheikh Tamim conferred on bilateral relations between Tehran and Doha as well as regional issues.

Zarif highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s principled policy of establishing best relations with all of its neighbours, and expressed the hope that Iran-Qatar ties would further expand in all fields.

He also called on the Iranian and Qatari official bodies to provide facilities for expansion of interactions between the two countries’ people and private sectors in order to tap into the existing business and economic opportunities.

The Iranian top diplomat also pointed to the sensitive conditions of the Middle East and the detrimental consequences of violent encounters and conflicts, and stressed that there is no military solution to any of regional crises.

“All parties should remain committed to dialogue and peaceful solutions,” Zarif noted.

Iran wants to have best relations with all of its neighbours and believes that all sides should prioritize regional initiatives aimed at establishing collective stability and security.

The emir of Qatar, for his part, expressed pleasure with the developing relations between Tehran and Doha, and stressed that his government and nation have always sought best relations with their northern neighbours.

He further welcomed Tehran’s stance on regional issues and the need for finding peaceful solutions to ongoing crises, and said, “Continued consultation with regional countries, including Iran, is an undeniable necessity.”

Sheikh Tamim also noted that he is happy to see Tehran-Doha relations are growing, and underlined the need for increased ties between Iran and other Persian Gulf littoral states.

Zarif arrived in Doha on Monday in his first trip to the Persian Gulf littoral state since Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt cut ties with Qatar in June.

The four countries accuse Qatar of backing “extremism” and fostering ties with their rival Iran, charges that Doha denies.

Later on Tuesday, Zarif plans to meet his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi earlier told AFP that Zarif’s talks would focus on relations in the Persian Gulf, economic cooperation, and the latest developments in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.

Before heading to Qatar, the Iranian top diplomat visited Muscat, the capital of Oman, where he conferred with Sultan Qaboos and his Omani counterpart on various issues of mutual interest, particularly regional issues and bilateral ties.

According to Oman’s official news agency, Zarif also held talks with Omani authorities on energy, economy and transit as well as the potential transfer of Iran’s gas through the Sultanate of Oman to India.

Oman and Iran in 2014 agreed to build an underwater pipeline to pump Iranian gas to the Omani port city of Sohar.

The festival on innovations in the paint and resin industry will be held in Tehran on October 7 in a bid to present inventions and new ideas in the field and attract investors.

“So far, festivals have been held in different fields such as household appliances, medical equipment, the food industry, the plastics and polymer industry and the stone industry,” said Akbar Qanbarpour, the head of the National Iranian Technomart.

Iran to Hold Festival on Paint, Resin IndustryAccording to a Farsi report by Mehr News Agency, he said the festivals are aimed at concluding contracts on mass-producing products devised by inventors.

“The festival on innovations in the paint and resin industry will be held in early October in a bid to showcase ideas and innovations in that field,” he said.

“The specialized festival will be held to industrialize innovations in the paint and resin industry through signing contracts and attracting investors in the intellectual property market, bringing together investors and producers in the industry,” the top manager noted.

Researchers are to present their inventions at the event to pave the way for interaction with interested investors. If any agreement is reached and any deal is made through the intellectual property market, the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office will offer financial and intellectual support, he added.

‘US Will Have to Stay Outside Iranian Missiles’ Striking Range’

The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari has warned the United States against implementing its new sanctions against Iran.

“As we used our missile capability in striking terrorists in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor, we will use this capability wherever necessary. We have already warned the Americans that if they put into force the new sanctions they have ratified in the defence and arms sector, then they should remove their bases from within the range of our missiles,” the top commander told state TV.

He also weighed in on the possibility of the IRGC targeting ISIS command centres again.

“We use it (our missile capability) wherever necessary, especially with regard to those who must understand and feel threatened by this capability of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” said General Jafari.

“One of the points I mentioned is that if the enemy wants to implement fresh sanctions in the defense, arms and missile sector under different pretexts, we will respond to that. We have announced that the enemy should keep its distance; the US, in particular, should stay away from the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the commander noted.

“They should stay outside the range of our missiles, i.e., two thousand kilometres from the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This is not an issue which we would compromise on, or which we would back down from,”

He also touched upon the IRGC’s presence in the Persian Gulf.

“Now, the whole world knows that the economic lifeblood of the world is the oil which passes through the Persian Gulf, and in this sensitive bottleneck, they (IRGC troops) should take care of the forces which secure regional security, namely Iran and the other countries in the region,” said the Iranian commander.

He further touched upon the arrest of US Marines on Farsi Island.

“After the incident that happened to US Marines on Farsi Island last year, they are seeking to make up for the blow that they suffered; this way, they want to maintain their power. Of course, it is natural that they are flexing their muscles, but when our drones fly over their warships, and people have seen their films and images, which show they can’t do a thing, this shows the power of Iran and the IRGC in the Persian Gulf region.”

On the situation of the ISIS terrorist group in the region, he said, “Fortunately, given the efforts made, the days of ISIS are numbered. ISIS is a sworn enemy of Islam, a handiwork of global hegemony and the Zionist regime of Israel to counter the Islamic Revolution and regional nations. Its remnants exist in desert areas near the Syrian and Iraqi borders, which will be purged as well, God willing,” said the top general.

“The ISIS is not something that will be completely annihilated in Iraq; rather, it might continue to exist sporadically in some areas and create insecurity for Iraq and its people where natural and human geography makes it possible [for the terrorists to do so.]”

“Also in Syria, only a few areas are left to be purged of ISIS terrorists. The al-Nusra Front and other [terrorist] groups are there in western Syria, but the conspiracy itself has been thwarted,” the top general underscored.

He then expressed his viewpoint on the possible threats that ISIS and other Takfiri terrorists may pose in the future.

“What kind of threats they will pose in the future is not predictable. They may not stay in areas which are not under their control, but they could merge with [and hide among] the population. It is natural that it takes years to identify and counter them by collecting full intelligence and doing intelligence work on populations, unless they choose other countries for their bothering moves. This will go on; in other words, they will continue to make attempts to counter countries which seek independence and which wouldn’t like to work in coordination with the US and Israel. Muslims should be prepared to deal with this new phenomenon, he added.

The top general then weighed in on the IRGC’S offering assistance to other countries.

“The help we can offer is to share ideas and experience; the least assistance would be to contribute troops and human resources. And they don’t need it either because they have enough troops and armed popular forces, but they may not have training and may need to draw on our experience, which is a major contribution that Iran can make.

“It is also natural and common to offer weapons and facilities, and like other countries, we help friendly nations as well as our neighbours at the request of their governments.”

3 ISIS Elements Captured in Southern Iran

The three elements with links to the ISIS terrorist group had plans to bomb the packed gatherings of Iranian mourners in the city of Darab during Tasu’a and Ashura, the days when Shiite Muslims mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein and his brother Abbas.
According to a Farsi report by IRIB News Agency, the terrorists were captured by Iran’s intelligence and disciplinary forces before succeeding in their ominous plots.
Two of them were arrested by the Law Enforcement and one by intelligence forces.

In a Monday meeting, Zarif held consultations with Oman’s Sultan Qaboos during his one-day visit to Muscat.
During the meeting, Zarif and Sultan Qaboos underlined the need for all-out development of Tehran-Muscat reciprocal relations.
Zarif hailed the ‘strong’ ties between the two neighbouring states, and praised Oman’s constructive role and the prudence of Sultan Qaboos on regional issues.

Earlier in the day, Zarif also met Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, the minister responsible for foreign affairs, upon his arrival in Muscat.
Topics of discussion included the development of bilateral relations, cooperation in banking, oil and gas sectors, and also the latest developments in the region, including Iraqi Kurdistan’s Independence referendum and its impact on regional developments.
In an interview with E’temad daily correspondent in Muscat, Zarif said, “As for the issue of Iraqi Kurdistan, Oman has a very similar position to Iran. In fact, there is a consensus on this issue at the international level. There is no country in the world that supports holding a referendum in Kurdistan. Oman has a completely similar position to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the need for the preservation of territorial integrity of Iraq, the observance of the first principle of Iraq’s constitution, i.e. the national unity and territorial integrity of the country, were emphasized by the sultanate officials.”
In response to a question about the fate of the JCPOA, he said “the statements I made in New York showed that almost all the countries, including five countries of the P5 + 1, the European Union and other international community governments, all throw their weight behind the JCPOA and its implementation stressing that this deal is non-negotiable.”
“In a conversation with the President of the United Nations General Assembly, he emphasized that in almost all 190 statements made at the UN General Assembly this year, one of the six topics that was almost stressed was their support for the deal and the non-negotiability of the JCPOA,” Zarif added.
“We have repeatedly stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has several choices. This as it is our preference to see all the parties abide by the JCPOA. The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated that it will not be the first country to violate the deal.”
Zarif also told reporters that relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman are “exemplary”.
“We have good ties with Oman in the field of political and regional dialogue. We have also held talks that are necessary for the security of the region, as well as talks on bilateral economic relations, in the field of transportation and energy,” he underlined.
About the goals of his trip to Oman and Qatar he stated that “my short trip to Oman and Qatar, is to hold meetings on regional issues, regional crises, as well as on economic and trade relations.”
On the topics discussed during bilateral talks with Omani officials Zarif said, “one of the things debated in this trip was the issue of the gas pipeline to Oman. Banking cooperation between the two countries that has begun in recent years next to the issue of travel of nationals of the two countries were among the most important matters we talked about.”
After his meetings with Omani officials Iranian foreign minister left Muscat for the Qatari capital Doha. His visit to Qatar comes as four Arab nations are boycotting Doha over its alleged support for extremists and what they say are Qatar’s overly warm ties with Iran.

Speaking at a meeting with Turkey’s Chief of the General Staff General Hulusi Akar in Tehran on Monday, Shamkhani said the KRG’s approach to hold the independence vote last Monday in the Kurdistan Region was “irresponsible and amateurish”.

“Paying no attention to the time and security requirements and pursuing tribal goals through this move will reduce the focus on the fight against Takfiri terrorism as the most important threat to the region and will rapidly spread the harmful security impacts on the Kurdish region of Iraq,” he said.

Shamkhani also stressed the need for coordinated efforts among Tehran, Baghdad and Ankara to manage developments and prevent the negative effect of the independence vote on the fight against terrorism in Iraq.

The Turkish top commander, for his part, stressed the need to support the central government in Iraq and preserve the integrity of the Arab country.

He said Iran, Iraq and Turkey will prevent the implementation of separatist plans in the region through joint efforts.

The Iraqi Kurdistan Region went ahead with its plan to hold the referendum last Monday while Iraq’s neighbors and countries in the Middle East, including Iran and Turkey, had voiced opposition to such a move and supported the Baghdad central government.

Thousands of Kurdish people in favor of KRG’s secession from Iraq took to the streets in Erbil that night, with some waving Israeli flags to celebrate.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the only leader in the region to endorse the referendum, while all neighbors have warned that the secession plan would bring instability to the region and disintegrate Iraq.
