Over 200 MPs Hail Gen. Soleimani’s Role in ISIS Defeat

In their letter, over 200 members of Iranian parliament commended the Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ Quds Force Major General Qassem Soleimani for his leading role in the eradication of ISIS in the neighbouring Iraq and Syria.

According to a Farsi report by the Fars News Agency, the MPs congratulated the Leader, the Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, and Lebanese nations, all supporters of the resistance front and Muslims across the world on the ultimate defeat of the Takfiri terrorists.

“We congratulate you on the complete defeat of ISIS and express gratitude to IRGC’s top commander for his relentless endeavour in fight against terrorism,” the letter added.

The lawmakers stressed that had it not be for the courageous and heroic efforts of Major General Soleimani, “we had to fight against ISIS inside our borders.”

The MPs described the collapse of ISIS terrorist group as the victory of the resistance front against hegemonic powers.

“It goes without saying this was not just a victory against criminal, bloodthirsty ISIS terrorists but the victory of the front of truth-seeking and resistance against the world hegemony and its international and regional puppets.”

Back on Tuesday, in a message to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Major General Soleimani declared that the notorious group’s rule has come to an end with the accomplishment of a mission to liberate Syria’s eastern city of Bukamal, near the Iraqi border.

“The arrogant and hegemonic powers as well as exploiters who seek their illegal interests in creating instability and clashes in the world, particularly in the Islamic world and the Middle East region, have already begun their proxy wars through their deviant forces following their failure in civilization clashes and their destructive wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Yemen,” the letter added.

Saudi-led Coalition to Reopen Yemen’s Hodeidah Port, Sana’a Airport

The coalition had closed all air, land and sea access to Yemen earlier this month following the launch of a missile fired toward the Saudi capital.

“The port of Hodeidah will be reopened to receive food aid and humanitarian relief, and Sana’a airport will be open for UN flights with humanitarian relief,” a statement from the coalitiob carried by the Saudi state news agency SPA said.

It added the decision would take effect from Nov. 23, Reuters reported.

The coalition allowed the resumption of international commercial flights and opened Aden port last week, but it said the main aid route into the country (Hodeidah) would stay closed until it was “satisfied” its Houthi opponents could not use it to bring in weapons.

Tehran, Moscow, Ankara Stress Establishment of Peace, Security in Syria

The presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey have held a trilateral meeting in the Russian city of Sochi to discuss the situation in Syria.

Upon arrival at the venue of the talks, President Hassan Rouhani of Iran, Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey were welcomed by Syrian President Bashar Assad.

After posing for a photo, the three presidents heading high-ranking delegations kicked off their negotiations.

The three-way talks focused on reviewing the trend and outcome of the Astana talks and on setting in motion the domestic political process in Syria.

Given the announcement, by Iran, of the complete defeat of the ISIS terrorist group in Syria, the three men also discussed the future steps to be taken to ensure long-term stability in the country.

President Rouhani also sat down with his Russian and Turkish counterparts separately

In his one-on-one meeting with Putin, the Iranian president expressed pleasure with his trip to Sochi and the trilateral meeting. He described the three-way talks as fruitful and timely, saying the negotiations play a key role in ensuring peace and stability in Syria. He expressed hope the discussions will help put an end to war and bloodshed in Syria as soon as possible.

In the bilateral meeting, Putin stressed that Sochi talks are aimed at settling the issues of Syria.

The two presidents also highlighted the need to further expand mutual cooperation in different areas.

In his meeting with Erdogan, President Rouhani said the three-way talks between the presidents of Iran, Turkey and Russia play a pivotal role in resolving regional issues, especially those of Syria. He noted the negotiations can help promote lasting peace and stability in Syria and the whole region.

He said the foundation of ISIS in Syria and Iraq have collapsed, but noted, “We have yet to go to fully eliminate terrorism in the region.”

Rouhani underlined that Tehran and Ankara should boost their cooperation to achieve their common goals, namely the establishment of peace and security in the region.

Erdogan, in turn, said his country is set to forge closer ties with Iran on all fronts.

In a message on his twitter account, he wrote, “Today I along with a delegation comprised of representatives of Iran’s Central Bank and other Iranian banks as well as tradesmen from private sector arrived in Kuala Lumpur to take part in the World Islamic Economic Forum.”

The Iranian minister also added the presence of an Iranian woman as Iran’s ambassador to Malaysia and her capability to activate economic ties between Iran and Malaysia is praiseworthy particularly “because the two sides didn’t have any regular relations in this field.”

He finally expressed hope that the good example of Iran’s embassy in Malaysia will be taken seriously and repeated in other Iranian embassies in future.

The 13th round of the WIEF was held in the Malaysian state of Sarawak from November 21 to 23.

Defeat of ISIS Brings US to Its Knees: Iran Leader

In an address to a group of Basij volunteer force in Tehran, the Leader said the enemies have stirred up their animosity towards Iran with the aim of brushing away the revolutionary thought from the region but failed miserably.

“Religious youths have brought the enemies to their knees by removing the cancerous tumour of ISIS in the region,” he stressed.

Elsewhere in his statements, the Leader also referred to the enemies’ relentless attempts to hatch up new plots against the Islamic Republic of Iran and said the enemies miss no opportunity to inflict a blow on the country.

He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has already managed to foil several plots by the US, Zionist regime and the regressive states of the region, adding uprooting ISIS was the latest achievement in fight against the enemies.

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the eradication of ISIS as a great victory and added some regional states didn’t had the self-confidence to fight against the terrorists.

He called on the Iranian youths to remain vigilant against the enemy plots in various fields and develop new plans to cope with them.

Any New War in Mideast to Wipe Israel Off World Map: IRGC

General Mohammad Ali Jafari

“The slightest mistake that the Zionist regime may make will be its last mistake,” Jafari was quoted as saying by Fars New Agency in a Farsi report on Wednesday.

Addressing a meeting attended by the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and a group of Basij volunteer forces in Tehran, General Jafari said,“Today, the Islamic Republic’s allies and enemies admit that we enjoy large preemptive capacities.”

Meanwhile, he added, they know it well that the Zionist regime does not amount to any threat to us.”

The top commander said the US isolation from regional political and security developments, the desperate failures of the dependent and regressive regimes of the region including Israel and its Arab allies signal the collapse of the US-led arrogance in the Muslim world.

The IRGC commander also hailed the role of the popular forces (Basij) in recent victories over hegemonic powers. Jafari said such forces are expanding their influence and enriching the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Elsewhere in his address, Jafari said today Basij in the Islamic Republic of Iran is interconnected with the popular mobilization forces in Iraq and Syria and “an undeclared alliance has been established among them.”

IOM Chief Praises Iran’s Hospitality towards Refugees

In a Wednesday meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi in Tehran, the director general of the IOM extended his condolences to the families of the victims of the latest earthquake which shattered western Iran.

He also praised Iran’s long-term hospitality towards Afghan refugees, particularly the order by Iran’s leader to facilitate the education of illegal refugees’ children in Iran.

He outlined the main measures adopted by the organization to contribute to efforts to voluntarily return Afghan refugees to their country and said the IMO is ready to establish further cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran within joint migration policies between the two sides.

Araqchi, for his part, referred to the long-time hospitality of the Islamic Republic towards the multi-million population of Afghan refugees and nationals in Iran, saying the hospitality has had economic and non-economic impacts on the country.

He also cited the program to voluntarily return the Afghan refugees to their country as one of the main policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“Despite the high costs of the hospitality, the Islamic Republic has stuck to its humanitarian commitments and provided the children of the illegal Afghan refugees in Iran with the opportunity to receive education in the Iranian schools at the order of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution,” he noted.

The Iranian diplomat also called on the international community to contribute to efforts to promote the internal conditions of Afghanistan particularly its economic situation and pave the way for the Afghan refugees to return to their homeland.

“International organizations including IOM can enable the Afghan refugees to return to their country through launching various projects for them.”

Araqchi also stressed Iran attaches great importance to the security and progress of Afghanistan, adding Tehran is prepared to cooperate with the international community to achieve the goal.

Iran Says Tunisia Not Asked to Mediate between Tehran, Riyadh

Bahram Qassemi

In response to questions by Iranian journalists on a report by Kuwait’s Al Jarida, Qassemi rejected the claim and said, “The Islamic Republic has not asked Tunisia to mediate between Iran and Saudi Arabia.”

Qassemi’s remarks came after a report in the Kuwaiti daily Al Jarida on Wednesday claimed that Mohammad Irani, the Director General for the Middle East and North Africa at the Iranian foreign ministry, was dispatched to Tunisia as a personal emissary for Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif to request his Tunisian counterpart Khemaies Jhinaoui to “intervene in the crisis between Tehran and Riyadh and discuss with the Saudis the possibility of behind-the-scenes talks between the two countries to resolve differences.”

“Jhinaoui conveyed the message to Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir on the sidelines of the Arab foreign ministers’ meeting in Cairo last Sunday,” the daily said, quoting a well-informed source at the Iranian foreign ministry official.

The source was quoted as saying that the Tunisian authorities informed the Iranians that the message had been conveyed to Riyadh and that the Saudis would respond to it next week after studying it.

“Tehran chose Tunis to play this role in light of its good relations with both parties and in order to keep the move out of the limelight. If Iran chose Kuwait or Oman for instance, the move would be exposed and could cause further complications that would undermine the negotiations before they could start,” the source said.
