Iranian iOS Apps No Longer Accessible to Users: Reports

Reports says iOS users can no longer access the mobile applications originating in Iran.

According to the reports, the iOS versions of the mobile apps developed in Iran have no longer been accessible to the users since Wednesday.

Several Iranian banks, online payment firms as well as ride-hailing and food delivery services have notified their mobile app users via text messages that the access to the iOS software has been blocked due to certain “restrictions imposed by the Apple company.”

Apple Inc. has not yet commented on the reports.

The tech has no formal operations in Iran due to the unilateral sanctions imposed by the US on the Islamic Republic. That, however, has not stopped Iranian technology lovers from buying Apple iPhones — which are being smuggled into the country among other Apple devices.

The US once removed its economic sanctions against Iran in 2016, months after a multinational nuclear deal with Iran, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), took effect, prompting Apple to get in touch with Iranian distributors to examine the possibility of entering the country.

Those American sanctions, however, were reinstalled when the US abandoned the nuclear deal in May last year.

In late 2017, months before Washington’s withdrawal from the deal, Apple removed apps originating in Iran from the App Store, citing American sanctions.

In response, Iranian Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi took to Twitter to complain about the move and said, “11 percent of the cellphone market in Iran belongs to Apple.”

“Respecting customer rights is a principle today that Apple hasn’t abided by. We will legally pursue the omission of apps,” he added.

A Hair Transplant Could Mean Great Things for Your Career

Look no further than the American Hair Loss Association for evidence of how your hair could be having an adverse effect on your professional life. It recently declared: “It is not uncommon for men to change their career paths because of their hair.” With this in mind, let’s look at three ways a hair transplant could mean great things for your career.

Professionalism
It’s previously been found that hair has been linked with professionalism. According to a survey carried out by Dove in which 2,000 men were questioned, eight out of ten participants admitted to feeling that a person’s hair was tied into how professional they looked. In this way, you could almost put a dashing head of hair on par with the likes of a flashy suit or designer briefcase. Luckily – much like suits and briefcases – a professional-looking head of hair is now within the reach of the average worker thanks to the availability of FUE hair transplant procedures.

Confidence
It can be extremely upsetting for a man to begin to lose his hair. In fact, the process can take such a toll on an individual that it ultimately knocks their self-esteem. Confidence, of course, is vital in any line of work. After all, it’s what allows us to build relationships with colleagues, clients and customers on a day-to-day basis. Fortunately, once a hair transplant has been completed, the procedure should have restored the patient’s confidence as well as their follicles. This should mean that they are once again feeling self-assured and ready to impress in the workplace.

Youth
Hair loss occurs for a variety of reasons, and it is more likely to happen to a person as they get older. Due to this, it is often thought of as being related to age. Unfortunately, youth – which is associated with energy and vibrancy – is cherished in most workplaces. This could mean that men who have started to lose their hair see themselves passed up for opportunities that go to those who appear younger. However, according to a survey carried out by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, men who undergo hair transplants are generally presumed to be younger once the procedure had been completed. This should help them stay immune to any age-related discrimination.

It’s time that you realised just how a hair transplant could be your secret weapon to getting ahead in your career – and that’s before you factor in just how beneficial it could also be for your personal life. If you want to follow in the footsteps of the many men who have already undergone the procedure and are enjoying the results, you can find out all the details you need by getting in touch with Vera Clinic.

Iran Urges India, Pakistan to Learn from Peaceful Culture of Nowruz

He made the remarks on Thursday in an address to an international conference on Nowruz in Tehran, which was attended by delegates from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, India, and Afghanistan.

“We are happy to be hosting delegates from the land of Nowruz,” Zarif said.

“In today’s world, we face the problem of lack of understanding and knowledge. As Iranian poet Hafez says, we should accept that ‘the wind of Nowruz blows from the house of the beloved one’. This means, we should set aside violence, hostility, suffering and domination.”

“We should make the culture of Nowruz global. This is a duty upon all of us as the heirs to the Nowruz heritage,” he noted.

Iran’s top diplomat said “we have to turn the mindset of power, domination and use of destructive weapons into the mindset of dialogue, inclusion, sympathy and coexistence in our homes, societies, region and the world.”

Zarif directly addressed the participating delegates and said “we should accept that we are aboard the same ship.”

“Violence brings no security for anyone. As heirs to the Nowruz culture, we should avoid any war among us. There should be no conflict between India and Pakistan.”

“You have turned Nowruz into a global event. It is a good fortune,” he said.

“Let’s take an oath today to give the colour of Nowruz to our lands and the world.”

Zarif pointed out that Nowruz is not a natural phenomenon, but a humane transformation that has been put on top of the UNESCO’s agenda.

The Iranian foreign minister then underlined that the delegates should understand that achieving security at the expense of others’ insecurity and making progress at the expense of others’ regression is not only undesirable but also impossible.

“We should accept that in today’s interconnected world, we either reach the shores of salvation together or drown together in environmental, insecurity or poverty crises.”

“Let’s speak to the whole world with the language of Iran, the land of Nowruz and culture. Peace can’t be achieved by domination. Let’s show it to the world with our Nowruz thought and behaviour that the era of hegemony and domination is gone,” he said.

The Iranian top diplomat then referred to the US’ move to spend 7 trillion dollars in the region saying today the country is facing a worse situation compared with the past.

“They should know that the situation remains the same for them even if they spend 70 or 700 trillion dollars. They won’t see peace in the region as long as they fail to accept the fact that human beings have common futures and problems with a common solution,” he said.

“Nowruz is the language of sympathy and getting out of sulk. Today in Iran, we need sympathy and unity more than ever. We are heirs to the Nowruz culture.”

“Iranians have been fed by a culture whose Imam said about 1,400 years ago that be kind to others because they are either your religious brothers or fellowmen in creation,” he added.

He finally noted that expressing sympathy is much better than speaking the same language.

“The spring of love arrives, to transform the dust into a garden. The call is heard from the heavens, to bid the wings of soul to fly.”

All Iranian People Sitting in Same Boat: FM Zarif

Pompeo Seeks to Flood Region with Even More US Arms: Zarif

Zarif made the remarks in his latest post on Instagram, a couple of days after his resignation was rejected by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The full text of the post is as follows:

In the Name of God

Hello my dear friends!

The deep sea of the affection of the great and brave nation of Iran and their respectable representatives, magnanimous remarks by my dear and honourable brother Brigadier General Qassem Soleimani, the generous and glorious letter of the Iranian President addressed to me, and the fatherly kindness and munificence of the wise leader of the Islamic Revolution, all in all, have doubled my determination and that of my colleagues at the Foreign Ministry to safeguard our national interests and the rights of the great nation of Iran.

This national unity and sympathy is the secret behind the victories of and progresses made by the great nation of Iran over the past four decades. It is also the main reason behind the failures of hegemonic powers, who seek to secure their interests by creating divisions among the Iranian society.

With the mutual trust between the Iranian nation and government as well as the growing will on the side of the Iranian officials to fulfil their duties within the law, the unwise hegemonic powers will achieve nothing by exerting pressure on Iran.

Despite their failures and the damages they sustained, the hegemonic powers still believe that [securing] their interests hinge on conducting costly but fruitless hegemony, exporting arms to regional states, destabilizing West Asia and exerting maximum pressure on the great nation of Iran.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has always maintained that diplomacy can gain field achievements in the regional and global arenas only through national power, domestic solidarity and public support.

Today, thank God, the courageous and brave measures by the champions of the battlefield of resistance and sacrifice, and the sincere efforts of the anonymous soldiers of our diplomacy apparatus have managed to foil the Zionists’ efforts to restore their nasty and dangerous project of portraying Iran as a threat to regional security. The measures have also established Iran’s constructive and peace-seeking role in fight against extremism and violence at the regional level.

Through sympathy and synergy and with constructive criticisms and God’s grace, it is hoped that the current shortcomings could be removed and economic progress and better living conditions could be achieved with hope and self-confidence.

Iranians, regardless of their political, religious or ethnic inclinations, are aboard the same boat. Now, ahead of Nowruz (Iranian New Year), we should turn our common concerns into a chance to promote security and progress inside the country and establish self-esteemed exchanges with the outside world so that the ship of our dear Iran could successfully move towards progress in the chaotic sea of post-western world.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani officially rejected the resignation of Zarif on Wednesday, saying it runs contrary to national interests.

In a letter addressed to Zarif, Rouhani noted that the top diplomat has been standing on the frontline of resistance against the US pressure campaign.

Meanwhile, a majority of Iranian lawmakers signed a letter to President Rouhani, calling on him to reject Foreign Minister Zarif’s resignation.

Separately on Wednesday, IRGC Quds Force Commander Major General Qassem Soleimani said that Zarif has the backing of senior Iranian officials, especially the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

General Soleimani further described the top Iranian diplomat as the person in charge of Iran’s foreign policy.

“Mr Zarif is responsible for the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During his term at the Foreign Ministry he has always enjoyed the support and approval of senior officials, particularly the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.” he said.

US Women Activists Blast Trump for His Anti-Iran Policies

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran’s Milad Tower on Wednesday, activists from Code Pink: Women for Peace, a grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end US funded wars and occupations, denounced Washington’s anti-Iran policies, which are backed by the regimes in Tel Aviv and Riyadh.

“Both Israel and Saudi Arabia did tremendous amount of lobbying to try to stop the Iranian nuclear deal from being signed. The Israelis got as a compensation more of our tax dollars and the Saudis got as compensation US support for the destruction of Yemen,” said Medea Benjamin, Code Pink co-founder.

Tensions intensified between Tehran and Washington last year, when President Donald Trump unilaterally pulled the US out of the nuclear accord, officially named the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and unleashed the “toughest ever” sanctions against Iran.

Since then, the US has been trying to coerce the Europeans into following its lead and withdrawing from the nuclear accord with Iran.

Elsewhere in her remarks, Benjamin raised the alarm at the possibility of a new war in the Middle East.

“We are worried about the US going to war with Iran, we are worried about the US bombing Iran. We are worried about another disastrous war in the Middle East and we don’t want to be party to that,” she said.

“We don’t want to be involved in another war. It is almost 20 years now that the US has invaded and occupied countries in the Middle East. It’s been such a disaster for the people of this region. we don’t want to see it get even worse,” she added.

Ann Wright, another Code Pink member, condemned illegal American sanctions and vowed efforts towards changing the Trump administration’s hostile approach on Iran.

“We do not want our government in the United States to be having the sanctions put on Iran. It’s the United States who abrogated the framework agreement treaty. We are here to say to the Iranian people we are going to work hard in the United States to get our government to change its policies,” she said.

Earlier this week, Code Pink activists met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and students at University of Tehran.

‘EU Seeks to Gain More Concessions from Iran via INSTEX’

Tasnim News Agency has, in an article, suggested that the European Union does not really intend to ease US sanctions on Iran; rather, it wants to gain more concessions via the special financial mechanism it has introduced. The full text of the analytical piece follows.

Following the United States’ withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Europeans, who showed an interest in preserving the agreement, vowed to adopt measures to secure Tehran’s interests under the JCPOA. Therefore, in a statement on May 18, 2018, the European Commission undertook to ease the effects of US sanctions on Iran-Europe trade and take action to maintain trade and economic relations between the European Union and Iran. To that end, the 4+1 group spoke of the formulation of a new mechanism called the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). This special financial channel was mainly aimed at easing Iran’s access to revenues from oil exports and facilitating the imports of goods subject to Washington’s unilateral sanctions. After a few months of foot-dragging, European countries officially registered the SPV on January 31, 2019.

A statement issued by the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany after the registration of the SPV shows the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX) has distanced itself from its original objectives, and is not only not an instrument to circumvent sanctions, but seeks to make US sanctions more effective. The following points will shed more light on the issue.

INSTEX in Line with US Sanctions!

Although part of the European statement stipulates that INSTEX is in keeping with EU and UN sanctions, and not in line with the United States’ unilateral bans, limiting the sphere of this mechanism’s activity to medicines, medical supplies, agricultural goods and foodstuffs shows INSTEX is practically in conformity with US sanctions. In other words, the special financial mechanism, which was originally supposed to circumvent US sanctions, is now working in compliance with US sanctions and will have no benefits for Iranians. We can accept that Europe is honestly seeking to preserve the JCPOA only if the EU gets engaged in trade with that part of Iran’s economy which is under sanctions.

Call for Iran to Work with FATF to Intensify US Sanctions

Part of the above-said statement stresses that this mechanism is implemented under the highest international standards with regards to fighting money laundering and combating sponsoring terrorism. In the first glance, it may seem that Europe’s expecting Iran to implement all the terms and conditions of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as mentioned in the statement is in line with the implementation of these very standards; however, such an idea is not true at all because:

  1. A) Under the statement issued by the three European countries, the INSTEX mechanism focuses on humanitarian supplies (medicines, medical supplies, agricultural goods and foodstuffs) and does not include any dual-purpose items (nuclear, non-nuclear and military, non-military). So, there is no need to precisely identify the final beneficiary.
  2. B) the observance of money laundering standards counts only when there is the likelihood that the source of money was a criminal act like smuggling. This is while the source of money in the above-mentioned mechanism is the income from Iran’s oil sales, which is undoubtedly not a criminal source.
  3. C) Given that INSTEX only has the role of a barter mechanism to settle Iran’s trade transactions and Iran gains no money in the process, the accusation of sponsoring terrorism will be rejected altogether.

Therefore, it becomes clear that Europe’s expectation that Iran fully implement all the terms and conditions of the FATF and join the Palermo Convention and the Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) act has no technical basis and is only a politically-motivated demand.

More Concessions via INSTEX

But why is Europe insisting so much that Iran fully implement the FATF?

The implementation of the FATF will make Iranian individuals and companies’ financial transactions both at home and abroad transparent for foreigners, making it possible for the US to precisely identify individuals and institutions linked to the sectors that are under sanctions. As a result, the sanctions will become more precise and it will become impossible to avoid the sanctions and the Iranian financial system will become more vulnerable to US sanctions than ever.

Moreover, with financial transactions inside the country becoming transparent, the part of the nation’s economy which is not under sanctions will refuse to cooperate with the part which is under sanctions, practically leading to domestically-induced sanctions. Therefore, Iran’s cooperation with regards to the FATF will make US sanctions against Iran more effective and redouble the pressure of the bans. Only this way can Europe and the United States ratchet up economic pressure on Iran and gain more concessions from Tehran. According to remarks by European authorities in recent months, the concessions that the Americans are seeking include putting restrictions on Iran’s missile and regional activities. Accordingly, it becomes evident that not only does Europe not have any intention of solving the problems Iran is facing with regards to sanctions, but tries to intensify Washington’s unilateral sanctions against Iran and gain more concessions from the Islamic Republic by expecting Iran to cooperate with regards to the FATF.

Iran Exporting Biopharmaceuticals to 17 Countries

One of the main achievements of Iran in science is growing up a talented generation in biological technology who have managed to take long steps in this area, filling the gaps in the production of biological productions.

“Iran has a good status in producing biological drugs and at present the country is exporting the drugs to 17 countries around the world,” Mostafa Qanei, Chairman of the Biotechnology Development Council, was quoted as saying in a report by Fars news agency.

He also described Iran’s scientific growth in biopharmaceuticals as significant and added nobody ever imagined that one day Iran which used to be among the importers of biopharmaceuticals turns into an exporter and meets the needs of 17 countries in this area.

For a brief review of Iran’s achievements in various fields of science and technology, check the book “Science and Technology in Iran: A Brief Review

The Iranian official then added the exports save about $1b per year for Iran and added today the biopharmaceuticals top the list of imported drugs of the country but the Biotechnology Development Council plans to meet the domestic needs to the drugs within the next three years.

He also underlined that production of a commodity inside Iran means the country has already gained the knowhow to produce it. “And when we talk about knowhow, it means we have already trained a new skilled generation that serves as a great human resource for us.”

Meanwhile, last month, Iranian researchers made an herbal-based spray that can treat migraine headaches.

Iran Relies on Self-Esteemed Women for Bypassing US Sanctions

Zahra Mazrouei, a PhD graduate of textile engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, said through their production, she and her colleagues in the knowledge-based firm have not only contributed to the country’s progress in the science and technology area but also created new jobs for a number of Iranian youths.

“We domestically made some light and efficient soundproofing products through Nano technology which stops noises from travelling through various parts of a building,” the researcher was quoted as saying in an interview with Fars news agency.

According to Mazrouei, statistical tests show that 10 percent of Americans have experienced Tinnitus which is mainly caused by the loud noises around us. The experience leads to deafness in 90 percent of cases.

“That’s why, demands for soundproofing products with high quality is on the rise. Today’s soundproofing products need to have high thickness to be of high efficiency,” she noted.

Iran Relies on Self-Esteemed Women for Bypassing US SanctionsThe researcher said the newly produced soundproofing products have a five to six millimeter thickness and added despite the relatively high thickness, the weight is of the products is low and they don’t have any environmental problems. “They are flexible and easy to work with. We have already got the technical approval for its quality for use in building construction.”

Mazrouei also added the soundproofing products is water proof and can be easily transferred and installed.

The products can stop noise travel at frequencies of 3000 to 5000 KHz. “This means that our products can stop 80 percent of noise travels compared with available soundproofing products in the market,” she said.

Elaborating on the functions of the knowledge-based firm, she added “among the main functions of our products, one can refer to covering domestic spaces of a room, residential buildings, offices and recreation buildings, transportation industry units like vehicle, helicopter, airplane and train, studios, cinemas and conference halls and industrial machineries and laboratories tools.”

She went on to say that the firm is now involved in some talks to supply soundproofing products for home appliances like washing machine. “Our main products have been mainly used for building construction,” she noted.

‘Iranian Women Running Economic Campaign against US Bans’

Referring to the US sanctions, Mazrouei said, ”We faced some obstacles over the past months due to the foreign currency crisis in the country to provide our raw materials. To tackle the problem, we put much time and energy into producing our raw materials for several months and finally managed to overcome the problem. Now, we are working on the new version with a higher quality.”

According to advisor on women affairs at Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, Zeinab Hamidzadeh, at present 400 knowledge-based firms in Iran have been established and are run by women.
