Iranian Nationals Warned against Travelling to US

Iran Appoints Female Ambassador to Denmark

In a statement on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry said, “Considering the political, security, cruel and unilateral US pretexts to imprison Iranians, especially the elite, for arbitrary reasons in inhuman conditions, the foreign ministry urges all Iranian national to seriously refrain from traveling to the US even to attend scientific conferences and despite being invited.”

Earlier, Director of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Department for the Americas Mohsen Baharvand, said in an interview with IRNA that “we currently have about 20 Iranian prisoners in the US, but this is not the final number because at any time we may find out that one of our nationals is in trouble somewhere and needs help.”

Iranian university professor Masoud Soleimani, who had been invited to the United States despite receiving a visa, was arrested and detained for 14 months after arriving in Chicago. He returned to Iran on Saturday, December 7, after being released in a prisoner swap with American-Chinese spy Xiyue Wang.

In an interview with IRNA, Ariel Gold expressed her joy at a recent visit to Iran with a group of American tourists.

Gold is the national co-director of Code Pink, an American NGO advocating peace and human rights.

The Jewish American woman says it was an indescribable moment for her when she said prayers at a synagogue in Tehran.

American Jewish Woman Rejoices at Prayer in Iranian SynagogueGold said she has also visited other synagogues in the Iranian cities of Isfahan and Shiraz, noting that a number of those religious sites were in fact historical buildings.

The Jewish people in the Islamic Republic firmly believe that Iran is their eternal homeland, she added, saying the Iranian Jews can freely perform religious rites in their country and are even represented by a lawmaker in the Parliament.

Denouncing the anti-Semitic and far-right extremist ideologies in the US, Gold said it would be surprising for an American to know that Iranian Jews can live freely and attend religious services in the synagogues.

She travelled to Iran with 11 other Americans coming from different states of the US, some of whom were members of the Code Pink.

Members of the American delegation have also deplored the Trump Administration’s policies against the ordinary people of Iran and the sanctions preventing the delivery of medical and humanitarian aids.

Ariel Gold has shared her experience of the trip to Iran with her followers in the social networks.

“One week back from Iran and I am trying my hand at Persian cooking. Clockwise from top left: Fava bean and dill polow (rice pilaf), Khoresh-e Bademjoon (eggplant stew), saffron rice, and Khoresh-e Ghormeh,” she said in a post on her Twitter account in early November.

Most of the time, it’s better to buy a used car rather than a new one. If you think about the advantages, the price is very obvious. Nobody can deny that a used car comes at a lot cheaper price than the new ones. But, all the used cars out there are not the ideal ones as they may have a lot of issues within them. You have to make sure that you buy the right one so that you can save a fortune over a new car. Let’s know how to choose one.

The Current Market Value

Determining the car’s market value is the first and foremost thing that you ought to do. Without having any idea about the current value of the car, you might end up being tricked. Keep in mind that the value is your initial step to start any negotiation. If the dealer sets a price that is too high, he might not be that much interested in selling the car. If the price is below market value and reasonable, then it might turn out to be a good deal for you.

The Car Inspection

Car history check, VIN check, and Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) Check are part and parcel for you if you want to buy a used car. These investigation processes can help you with the information regarding the nuts and bolts of the car. You are likely to know the car engine’s condition, the manufacturing date, how many times the car has changed hands if it had ever been in an accident if it was written off by the insurance company, the information about the car’s color, doors, and other parts, and whatnot.

A Test Drive

A test drive can answer most of the questions you have in mind before buying the car. Thus, it’s very significant that you go for a test drive and observe every little thing about the car while driving. Check if there is any problem with the car’s amenities. Make sure that there is nothing wrong with the sound system. Are the heat and the air conditioning works fine? How does the engine sound. Observe each detail very carefully.

Check Out by A Mechanic

Nobody knows anything about the car more than a mechanic. Having the car checked out by a mechanic is a pre-purchase inspection that can save you a lot of money in the long run once you buy the car. Nobody sells off a car until it shows up a problem. A mechanic can determine how many problems does the car has and what impact it will have in the future.

It can be challenging at times when it comes to buying a used car. You would never want to pay too much to buy a car that doesn’t worth buying. To make sure that you are getting a good used car within your budget, keep these strategies in mind so that any seller can fool you with his tricks.

Iran Raps EU Foreign Policy Chief’s Human Rights Statement

Iran Vows Appropriate Response to US Interception of Mahan Air Flight

In a statement on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi deplored a recent statement by the new High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, saying his statement has been based on incorrect and biased information.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran rejects any instrumental and political use of human rights against the independent countries,” Mousavi underlined.

“Respecting the rights of people is a principle and a necessity of national security for the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a democratic establishment, and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s performance over the past four decades clearly indicates our country’s seriousness in promoting human rights and protecting the rights of people,” he noted.

“Holding popular protests and demonstrations is among the recognized rights of people in the Islamic Republic; but taking advantage of this right to loot or attack the people and public places is intolerable, as it is not tolerated in Europe itself, an obvious example of which is the police action against demonstrators in Paris which has resulted in large casualties, injuries and arrests so far,” he added.

The spokesperson further highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to study the various aspects of the recent incidents in Iran, and expressed regret for the harms done to a number of demonstrators.

“Measures will be definitely taken to compensate those hurt in the demonstrations, in the same way that the necessary legal action will be taken against the armed thugs and the looters of people’s properties,” Mousavi noted.

“We call on the European Union to seriously consider the violation of human rights in a number of the (EU) Member States or in its allied countries, and to honour its commitments regarding the JCPOA and the violation of rights of more than 80 million Iranian citizens under the inhumane and unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States of America,” the Iranian spokesman added.

Iranian Citizens Advised to Delay Visits to France

protests-france

In a travel advisory issued on Tuesday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry urged the visitors to hold off trips to France because of the escalation of protests.

“Given the continuous popular protests in the French Republic over the past recent year and considering the public protests in the past two days and the protests turning violent in various cities, particularly in Paris, the Iranian passengers and tourists are seriously advised to postpone plans to travel to the French Republic for their own safety and health,” the Foreign Ministry said.

People are holding rallies in Paris, marking the sixth day of protests against the pension reforms proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The government is planning to introduce a universal pension system that, according to French trade unions, will lead to negative changes for private-sector workers, who will have to work beyond the legal retirement age in order to receive a full pension.

The protests were launched on Thursday, when Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced changes in social security that aim to merge 42 existing pension schemes into one universal points-based system beginning in 2025.

Iran Says Ready for More Prisoner Swaps with US

Xiyue Wang
Xiyue Wang — a Chinese-born US citizen who had been sentenced to 10 years in prison for espionage in Iran in 2017 - is delivered to US officials in Zurich as part of a prisoner swap

“We are happy that the United States made the right decision in this case to release an innocent Iranian and we also commend the Swiss government for its goodwill,” Rabiei told a press conference in Tehran on Monday.

“As we said before, we are ready to secure the release of all Iranians who are being illegally held in US prisons,” he noted, adding that Iran is prepared for more prisoner exchanges with Washington.

However, he stressed that the prisoner swap is not associated with any negotiation between Tehran and Washington.

Rabiei noted that the US can prepare the grounds right now for a meeting with Iran within the framework of the P5+1 group of countries by lifting its cruel sanctions.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammd Javad Zarif said the Islamic Republic was fully ready for “comprehensive prisoner exchange with the US.

“After getting our hostage back this week, fully ready for comprehensive prisoner exchange,” Zarif said in a Monday tweet in clear reference to Soleimani’s exchange with Xiyue Wang — a Chinese-born US citizen who had been sentenced to 10 years in prison for espionage in Iran in 2017.

After declaring Iran’s readiness to exchange more prisoners with the US, Zarif noted that the issue depended on the will of the American side, adding, “The ball is in the US’ court.”

Back in October last year, Soleimani, 49, left Iran on sabbatical last year but was arrested upon arrival in Chicago and transferred to prison in Atlanta, Georgia for unspecified reasons.

When he left Tehran last fall, Soleimani, a professor and biomedical researcher at Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) in Tehran, planned to complete his research on treating stroke patients as a visiting scholar at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Prosecutors in Atlanta had accused him and two of his former students of conspiring and attempting to export vials of human growth hormone from the US to Iran without authorization, in violation of US sanctions.
