Over 27,000 Iranians Recover from COVID-19

Speaking in a daily briefing on Tuesday, Jahanpour said 2,089 new cases of infection were confirmed during the past 24 hours, raising the total number to 62,589.

This is the ninth day in a row that the number of new infections is decreasing in Iran.
Jahanpour also noted that 133 patients died in 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 3,872.

He said 3,987 patients are also in the severe conditions of the disease.
So far, he added, 211,136 COVID-19 tests have been taken in the country.

Benevolent Family Finds a Way to Help Autistic Children during COVID-19 Outbreak

Staying at home is the most recommended and sensible way to stay away from the COVID-19 disease. But those with autistic children face great difficulties these days, as such children are restless at home, and all public recreational centres are closed.Benevolent Family Finds a Way to Help Autistic Children during COVID-19 Outbreak 1

Autistic patients need to expend their energy; otherwise, they can create troubles and damages. Staying in a small apartment from morning to night is a prison sentence for these people.Benevolent Family Finds a Way to Help Autistic Children during COVID-19 Outbreak

Most people with autism get nervous and engage in violence if they stay indoors for a few hours. They inadvertently hurt themselves and their families. Home appliances are usually not safe. Most of them love to go out and vent their excitement.

Of course, autism comes in many forms, from mild to severe. The situation is a little easier for the first group, but the second group’s situation is more difficult.

The bad news for the families of these patients was the closure of all entertainment centres in the country over the outbreak of coronavirus. However, an institute and a charitable family have made it possible for people with Down syndrome to gather together in a villa in Karaj, west of Tehran. This helps the families with autistic children to be less worried these days.

A mother with an autistic kid says “On the first day of Nowruz, my son was upset that he was staying at home, he threw pasta sauce and the house got dirty. When he fell asleep, we just started cleaning the house.”Benevolent Family Finds a Way to Help Autistic Children during COVID-19 Outbreak

Now, they have sent their son to the Karaj camp for a few days. The photos and videos of the laughter of their child in the social media group of the institute wipe their fatigue away.

Leila Nematollahi, an instructor at the Saberin Autism Institute, says since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, parents frequently call and express concern.

“Our institute is not a boarding one, and is located in Razi Park (in southern Tehran). The park was great for leisure. The programs we had every day optimally expended the energy of people with autism. When they returned home, they were calm and could easily sleep.”Benevolent Family Finds a Way to Help Autistic Children during COVID-19 Outbreak

However, she said, due to the coronavirus, their presence in the park was banned despite the great efforts I made. There was not even an alternative place for them. Programs had to be cancelled, but online training continued. We received a lot of messages from the parents during this time, saying it was difficult for them to stay home with the autistic child round the clock.Benevolent Family Finds a Way to Help Autistic Children during COVID-19 Outbreak

“One of the parents, who had a large villa in Karaj near Tehran, informed us that they had disinfected the whole place for the sake of the children. They kindly invited us to take the children there free of charge. All that remained was the honorarium of the trainer and the cost of the food that the parents paid for. The kids stayed there in two shifts from March 20 to April 3. The good news is that we can send the next groups back to the camp after Nowruz.”

“We love our children devotedly, but the fact is that it’s hard to keep autistic people under normal circumstances, let alone during the Corona pandemic,” said the mother of one of the kids.

“I really enjoyed the love of these parents for our children. When I saw how they were disinfecting every corner of the place, I was shocked. Maybe I wouldn’t have done it myself if I had the opportunity. We really thank them. I’m glad to see my son happy, healthy, calm and joyful in the photos and videos sent from the villa in Karaj,” she added.

Maryam Ahmadinia, who is the mother of a 25-year-old autistic person, talks about their provisions during the COVID-19 epidemic.

“My son has skin allergies, I can’t wash or disinfect his hands all the time. We drove him out for the first few days. Sometimes he would get off the car. These kids love fun and curiosity. I have respiratory problems. I hoped he would not be infected because he did not wear mask or use disinfecting gel. I was under a lot of stress. We kept him at home for a few days, and he broke most of the household appliances. When he was upset, I told his brother to go into his room and lock the door. Finally, this camp saved us.”

Dr Mansoorian is a radiologist and father of his 20-year-old autistic son Bamdad. Far from the family and unaware of the bad news, he and his friends spent Nowruz holidays in Karaj. The father is sure of the sanitary arrangements of Karaj Villa and, of course, before that, his heart is warmed by the love of this charitable family.

“It’s a big villa. Each of these children has a room. They have gone in two shifts so that all the children can enjoy while there is no crowd,” he said.

Tomato Jam: An Exotic, Tasty Dessert for Days of Quarantine

Tomato Jam An Exotic, Tasty Dessert for Days of Quarantine

Here is how you can make this jam at home in only 30 minutes.

To make tomato jam, you will need to spend only less than half an hour. Some good ripe tomatoes at home are enough to begin making a delicious jam that would make your day when breakfast is served tomorrow morning.

So do not mess around and get started if you want to have fun at the time of self-quarantine amid the outbreak of coronavirus.

Ingredients:

1 kilo tomatoes

1 kilo sugar

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice

some ginger

1 piece cinnamon stick

some ground red pepper

You may use ground cardamom instead of ginger and cinnamon.

Directions:

Step 1

To make the main concentrate of the jam, you need to wash the good and ripe tomatoes and put them in boiling water pot for four or five minutes. Then slice the tomatoes and run them through a sieve. By doing so, your jam will have a marmalade-like mixture.

Step 2

Combine the tomato concentrate with a cup of water in a pot. Add lime juice, pepper, ginger and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes to let the extra water evaporate. Then add sugar and stir constantly until the mixture has consistency of thick jam. Then cool and pour it into your desirable dish.

Young Girl Volunteers to Purify Bodies of COVID-19 Victims before Burial

Zahra, 23 years of age, is a graduate of Microbiology and the daughter of a martyr. At the moment, she is voluntarily purifying the bodies of individuals who lost their lives to the coronavirus.

A journalist with the Young Journalists’ Club (YJC) noticed her after reading her Instagram posts.

“Her recent posts were about her activities at hospital and purifying the bodies of those who had died of the coronavirus,” says the YJC journalist.

“I read those posts. It was very odd to me to hear that a girl born in the 1990s (I found it out from her page) has been bold enough to choose such a demanding job!” says the journalists.

“It was weird and frightening, especially for me, who is even afraid of living patients, let alone the dead,” the journalist adds.

The following is the full text of an interview with Zahra.

Zahra, didn’t your husband stop you from doing this?

When I first told my husband, he became a little surprised because it is a high-risk job. But after he realized how serious I was, he didn’t object to it and even he himself found a hospital for me. Of course, my husband himself goes to help wherever they need workforce. At the moment, he is helping disinfect public places.

Why did you decide to take up this job and was the dead bodies of coronavirus patients?

I am mentally prepared to do these sorts of job; of course, I hadn’t had any experience before. Also, I saw that they are mostly understaffed in this section. These days, those who want to help, do jobs such as sewing face masks, etc., and there are not enough personnel to purify dead bodies.

I thought to myself that I’m not afraid of the dead; so, I thought I’d better do something. I followed up the matter from Qom all the way to Tehran where I began looking for a hospital which needed staff to purify bodies of dead coronavirus victims. Finally, I found the Baharloo hospital in Tehran.

Do you purify the dead on the same hospital bed where they passed away?

Sometimes on the same bed because the body of the dead person should not get cold. If much time passes, their arms may get stiff. So, we purify them on the same hospital bed where they died. But sometimes it gets late as we are working in other hospitals (At the moment I’m working in three hospitals). In that case, they take the dead person to the mortuary where we purify them.

How do you purify bodies of coronavirus patients? You don’t use water, do you?

No. We purify them by Tayammum (dry purification ritual) using marble. We do it three times using their own hands and as many times with our hands. We have a rectangular piece of marble which we put on their abdomens and do it.

When leaving the hospital, aren’t you afraid that you might be carrying the virus and might transmit it to your loved ones?

Most of us are carriers of this disease. The only thing we can do is to decrease our contact with those around us. My husband and I don’t get too close to each other when we get home. We somehow self-quarantine ourselves. Moreover, we have no contacts with relatives.

Young Girl Volunteers to Purify Bodies of COVID-19 Victims before Burial 3

How did you feel when you first purified the dead body of a coronavirus person?

I studied microbiology at university and I am somehow familiar with nursing activities. The day when I was, for the first time, told to go purify a dead coronavirus patient, I was administering an IV to a patient in hospital. They contacted me and told me that a lady had died of the coronavirus in a hospital around Tehran, and that I had to go there to purify her body. At first, I was afraid and was murmuring to God as the issue seemed to be serious.

I entered the ICU of the hospital. I moved the white sheet on her. When I first saw the face of that 50-year-old woman, I felt pity for her loneliness instead of being frightened. Coronavirus patients are so lonely. We are used to waiting impatiently at the door when our loved ones are hospitalized at the ICU, expecting good news. However, coronavirus patients have no visitors.

After going through the Tayammum ritual, the dead are taken to the Behesht-e-Zahra cemetery where only few people are present. So, the dead are buried in a state of loneliness even without having a memorial service.

How many dead people do you purify every day?

I work night shifts from 9 pm to 9 am. Although I’m working in three hospitals, I purify 1 to 2 dead people each night. That’s as many as we have. Even some nights there was no dead person. I should say that the number of those who recover is much more than the number of those who die. Of course, a lot of people are infected as well.

Do you get any money for what you do?

Nothing.

Aren’t you tired and don’t you regret what you have been doing?

No, not at all. When I go to patients’ bedside and see their mental condition, I think that something must be done for them. These patients are so lonely and they have low spirits. When there is no dead person to purify, we try to go to patients and talk to them to somehow boost their morale. For example, there was this old lady who was in a very bad mental condition. They would even put nappies on her. When we talked to her and boosted her spirits, she began to get better each day. She even got out of bed to walk yesterday.

Payday Loans with No Credit Check

As long as you are sure you can repay the loan on time, those types of loans are a great way to get by when you need it!

Poor credit is not your fault, but you may need a little help from the bank to purchase those items you need. As long as you are sure that you can repay the loan on time, payday loans are a great way to get by when you need to make an emergency purchase.

Since the economy is in the free market, there are always people trying to cheat others in order to get the advantage. They know that they can get money out of consumers with poor credit. Even if you have a bad credit history, payday loans are still a great option for many people.

Even with bad credit, you can still get the money you need with no credit check.

The reason for this is that your financial institution is going to look at your credit report to determine your ability to repay the loan. If you have other past credit problems, you may be given a higher interest rate.

If you are able to make your payments on time, the lender will look at your credit report and decide whether or not to give you a loan with no credit check. If they see something that looks suspicious, the lender will have to do an investigation to see if it is a true credit report error. It is important to remember that your credit history will not be affected if the loan is repaid on time.

If you have a good credit score, you may still be able to get a loan with no credit check. Just make sure that the lender is a reputable one.

If you apply for the loan, make sure you fully understand the terms and conditions. You want to know exactly what you are going to be paying each month for the loan. Once you read the terms and conditions, you should have no problems making your payments.

Make sure that you understand exactly how much the loan is going to cost you each month. Many payday loans will come with an introductory period of a few weeks, so make sure that you know what that means. If you know that the monthly cost of the loan is going to be more than you can afford, it would be better to think about waiting until the introductory period is over.

If you have bad credit, there are some things that you can do to improve your situation.

A couple of things to think about are paying your bills on time, and doing all of your shopping at the end of the month. You will save a lot of money this way and be able to buy just about anything that you need without having to worry about how you are going to pay the loan back.

One thing to remember is that if you have bad credit, you will have to pay a higher interest rate to get a loan that has no credit check. You will be able to reduce the payment so that you pay it off sooner, but you will end up paying more overall.

If you do need a loan and have bad credit, a lender may still offer a loan with no credit check. You will have to negotiate the loan price and figure out how much you are going to be paying in interest each month. This may seem like a hassle, but if you want to be able to make it through the month without going into debt, it may be your only option.

You can get loans with no credit check if you have bad credit. The key is to know what you can and cannot afford before you take out a loan.

Handling COVID-19 Impossible without Concerted Action, Rouhani Tells Macron

Handling COVID-19 Impossible without Concerted Action, Rouhani Tells Macron

In a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron on Monday evening, President Rouhani wished the French government and nation and people of the entire world success in the battle with COVID-19 pandemic.

“All countries and governments must keep in mind that they could not get through such delicate situation without assistance, cooperation and using the experiences of each other,” the Iranian president said.

He also noted that the foreign sanctions have made the fight against coronavirus more difficult for Iran compared to the other nations.

“While the US government has breached the international regulations by imposing illegal sanctions against Iran, it is still violating the health regulations ratified by the World Health Organization in 2005 with its measures under the current circumstances.”

The president further described as “positive but insufficient” the first steps that the three European parties to the 2015 nuclear deal have taken to bring the INSTEX into operation, stressing, “This path (INSTEX mechanism) should not be confined to the medical commodities and foodstuff alone, and we must be able to use it to supply all of our country’s demands.”

President Rouhani also welcomed the UN Secretary-General’s proposal for a global halt in armed clashes amid the outbreak of coronavirus, and expressed hope that such ceasefire would apply to the economic war against Iran as well.

“We expect the friendly countries to pressurize the US into lifting the cruel and unilateral sanctions under such conditions,” he stated.

The president then reiterated that Iran is prepared to fully honour its JCPOA commitments as soon as the whole sanctions are removed, noting, “The removal of sanctions and honouring the commitments by Europe is a necessity, and in such special conditions it has become more significant today.”

Pointing to Iran’s initiative for regional peace, known as the Hormuz Peace Endeavour (HOPE), President Rouhani said cooperation among the regional countries is the only way to ensure security of the Oman Sea, the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

“Iran does not welcome any tensions in the region, and has always made and will make efforts for the establishment of sustainable peace and stability in the region,” Rouhani underlined.

He finally stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of regional countries, noting,” Accordingly, we deem that some recent American moves in Iraq are a dangerous measure and to the detriment of the security of that country (Iraq) and the region.”

For his part, Macron briefed President Rouhani on the outbreak of coronavirus in France and other European states and the efforts to contain the disease, saying, “The world is experiencing tough situation, and I hope that all countries in the world would be able to weather such difficult conditions in cooperation with each other.”

President Macron also voiced France’s willingness to promote cooperation with Iran in all fields, pointed to the positive steps for starting to use the INSTEX, and expressed hope that the financial mechanism would increase the transactions between Iran and Europe and facilitate the financial cooperation between them.

He also highlighted Iran’s major and constructive role in the region, and emphasized the necessity of enhancing cooperation and bilateral, regional and international relations between Tehran and Paris in order to promote peace, stability and security in the region.

Iran’s Leader Okays Allocation of €1 Billion to Fight COVID-19

The funding will be used to fight the coronavirus, tackle the consequences of the epidemic and better manage the national campaign against the disease.

Following the Leader’s approval, President Hassan Rouhani ordered the head of the country’s Plan and Budget Organization to act accordingly.

The government of President Rouhani is battling against the spread of the novel coronavirus while the country is still under the United States’ unilateral sanctions.

Figures released by the Health Ministry today show the number of new coronavirus infections in the country has decreased for the eighth day in a row.

The spokesman for the Health Ministry Kianoush Jahanpour on Monday confirmed 2,274 new cases of infection in 24 hours, raising the total number to 60,500.

The number of deaths in 24 hours also dropped for the second day in a row. According to the spokesman, 136 people died in the past 24 hours from the novel coronavirus, increasing the death toll to 3,739.

The recovery process has gained momentum in the past few days, Jahanpour said, adding that 24,236 patients have so far recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Iran Urges World to Defy US Sanctions amid Coronavirus Outbreak

mousavi

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said Iran should be given access to its own assets at least.

“At least, we expect the international community and independent countries to defy the United States’ unilateral sanctions in this complicated situation, and allow Iran to gain access to its assets in order to tackle the repercussions of the coronavirus outbreak,” said Mousavi in a video press conference Monday.

The spokesman also said foreign nationals in Iran infected with COVID-19 can have access to the same medical services as Iranians for treatment.

“Non-Iranian nationals, including visitors and residents, who contract the coronavirus in Iran, will receive medical treatment like Iranian nationals without any discrimination,” he said.

Mousavi also expressed sympathy with countries gripped by the pandemic.

“The Iranian nation would not be happy to see the suffering of anybody; we sympathize with all citizens of countries affected by the coronavirus,” he said.
