Iran Allocates $10 Billion to Compensate Industry Losses During Corona Outbreak

Iran Allocates $10 Billion to Compensate Industry Losses During Corona Outbreak

Reza Rahmani said nearly 10 billion dollars have been allocated to be given to compensate the industry losses of these guilds.

He added that several guilds suffered the most damage during the corona pandemic, and of course the government will help them through this aid package.

“Of course, the effects of coronavirus on the global economy have shown themselves, and different countries have registered 144 new procedures for post-corona conditions. We are also after compensating corona’s losses in the country.”

Speaking in a meeting in East Azarbaijan province on Thursday, Rahmani noted “We have set the management of imports and development of non-oil exports as one of the main targets of the ministry for increasing production after defeating the coronavirus.”

He went on to say that any goods that are now produced domestically and meet the needs of the country with the appropriate quality are subject to the import ban.

Referring to the measures taken to produce corona-related health items, the industry minister said there existed some problems in the production of masks in the country, but in the shortest possible time, the problems were resolved and the daily production of 200,000 masks in various industrial sectors, guilds and workshops reached more than 5 million.

“The cruel sanctions against our country have been imposed in such a way that they force us to sell raw materials for export, while the import of some unnecessary goods is free,” he stressed.

Rahmani noted that production in the mining and industrial sectors has increased. He added that last year, production of the selected industrial products increased by at least three-fourth, and in the mining sector, with the exception of aluminum, all mineral products such as copper and steel have grown while food, clothing and home appliances production has also increased.

Talking about the accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, Rahmani continued that economic activists should seek to activate production and export capacities in this field, but Iranian embassies in the member states of this union, especially Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan are also active and can help a lot.

Iran Condemns German Ban on Lebanon’s Hezbollah

Iran Condemns German Ban on Lebanon’s Hezbollah

In a statement on Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi vehemently condemned the German government’s move to accuse the Lebanese Hezbollah of “promoting armed struggle with terrorist means.”

“It appears that certain countries in Europe are adopting their stances without considering the realities in the West Asia region and by paying regard only to the objectives of the propaganda machine of the Zionist regime and the confused US regime,” Mousavi added.

“The German government’s decision has been made with a complete disrespect for the Lebanese government and nation, as Hezbollah is an official and legitimate part of that country’s government and Parliament, and has always been an influential political party in the arena of creating political stability in that country,” he said, adding that Hezbollah enjoys massive popular backing in Lebanon and in the region.

“The German government’s decision has been also made with utter imprudence against a force that has had and still has a key role in the fight against the violent terrorism of Daesh (ISIS) in the region. The German government, therefore, must be held accountable for the negative consequences of its decision for the fight against the true terrorist groups in the region,” Mousavi concluded.

The statement came after Germany designated the Lebanese Hezbollah a terror organization, banned all of its activities in the European country and ordered raids on sites linked to the Lebanese group.

The German police have raided four mosques and cultural associations linked with Hezbollah, as well as private homes of the Lebanese group’s board members, treasurers and tax advisers.

Minister Reports Big Rise in Daily Production of Masks in Iran

Daily Production of Masks in Iran

In remarks during a one-day visit to the northwestern city of Tabriz on Thursday, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani said Iran was producing some 200,000 face masks before the outbreak of coronavirus, while the output has now reached 6 million masks per day thanks to the efforts made by the production plants and the popular groups.

The minister also paid a visit to a plant producing sanitary and medical masks at a sports center, staffed by female volunteers.

During the visit, Rahmani praised the Basij forces for offering voluntary service in all emergencies, noting that the promotion of the culture of altruism and creativeness in Iran has thwarted the hostile plots.

While the enemies were focusing on false reports about a shortage of basic commodities and medical supplies in Iran after the outbreak of coronavirus, such vicious plots were thwarted through good arrangement, cooperation from the society, and the supply of all necessary commodities, the minister noted.

Rahmani also stated that the ground has been prepared for exporting face masks and other medical supplies to the other countries.

Iranian, Cuban FMs Discuss Cooperation against COVID-19

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Cuban counterpart Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parrilla held a telephone conversation on Thursday evening.

Iran Refutes US Religious Freedom Report

Iran Vows Appropriate Response to US Interception of Mahan Air Flight

In a statement on Thursday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi decried the annual report on “religious freedom in the world” released by the US Department of State, saying, “This report has made bogus and baseless claims about our country, particularly about the status of Jewish people in Iran, which do not apply to any of the legal and official faiths in the Islamic Republic of Iran and are rejected.”

“The US government has once again repeated the baseless and undocumented allegations about the status of religious freedom in the Islamic Republic of Iran in a new report, while the contents of this report reveal the lack of a proper understanding of the situation of Iran in this regard, and clearly reveals that invalid and anti-Iranian information and sources have been used to prepare it.”

Mousavi also dismissed the unrealistic and biased allegations raised in the report, slammed the release of the report as interference in the internal affairs of the other countries, and condemned such interventionist behavior of the US.

Such brazen acts of interference in the domestic affairs of the countries and the release of superficial reports against them take place while millions of indigent and homeless people in various cities of the US are living below the poverty line and are deprived of the basic rights or medical and health services, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson added, noting that such conditions in the US have turned deplorable and catastrophic under the shadow of the pervasive and terrible crisis of coronavirus outbreak in that country and have resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of American citizens.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always respected the rights of religious minorities within the framework of its Constitution, and those religious minorities have been fully enjoying the whole citizenship rights, particularly the political participation in the country’s processes and the free exercise of their religions, Mousavi underlined.

“Since ancient times, Iran has embodied a diversified and miscellaneous society involving pure religions, cultures and languages, who have chosen this territory as a place and haven for their social, cultural and economic life since thousands of years ago, and also today, the people of Iran are still feeling the sweetness of such variety and beauty regardless of their religion, language and faith,” the Iranian spokesman emphasized.

Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Gets Refueled

Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Gets Refueled

The shipment of nuclear fuel was delivered to the Bushehr nuclear power plant on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

The fresh fuel would be loaded into the reactor of Bushehr nuclear power station according to an annual refueling plan, so that the only nuclear power plant in Iran and the Middle East will continue to supply 1,000 megawatt of clean and reliable electricity to the national grid, the AEOI announced.

Despite the difficulties and restrictions caused by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the nuclear cooperation and interaction between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation is going on in compliance with the health protocols and according to the plans.

The continuation of valuable nuclear activities in the Bushehr nuclear power plant complex, including the generation of sustainable nuclear power and the construction of new nuclear power plants, reveals the Islamic Republic of Iran’s steadfastness in the face of the cruel Western sanctions, the constant and peaceful cooperation with the holders of nuclear technology, and the capabilities of the Iranian nuclear industry experts.

Electricity generation at Bushehr nuclear power plant has been shut down since April 12 for annual fuel reloading, inspection, and periodic maintenance.
