US Navy Veteran Released over Health Problems: Iran Intelligence Ministry

US Navy Veteran Released over Health Problems: Iran Intelligence Ministry

Michael White was an American military man who entered the country two years ago as a tourist, an official from the anti-espionage department of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry said on Saturday.

“He intended to find an opportunity through misleading methods and communication with Iranian citizens, but he was arrested by the counterintelligence officers of the Ministry of Intelligence,” the official said.

“At the same time, he faced some complaints [from private plaintiffs]. Finally, after about two years, Michael White was expelled from the country due to the aggravation of his illness,” the official added.

The intelligence official further noted that some politicians in the United States, including Brian Hook, intended to use the possible death of Michael White as a media hype against Iran, but with his release their plots were foiled.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the intelligence source said US President Donald Trump desperately needs the support of public opinion after failure in containing the coronavirus, as well as mismanagement of protests against discrimination and racism.

“Therefore, Trump tries to reduce the fundamental differences between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the US regime to superficial issues and to make the most of any irrelevant and small issue as a context for negotiations with Iran,” Tasnim News Agency quoted the official as saying.

The Director General of Espionage at the Ministry of Intelligence also stated that Donald Trump is also a clear example of a person who wants to use every single opportunity to hold negotiations with Tehran and attract attentions.

“Of course, this kind of behaviour is not surprising while we know he has entered the White House from business market.”

“The Ministry of Intelligence emphasises that, as in the past, any anti-security action of the intelligence services, especially that of the United States, will be dealt with vigilantly and in the most professional way,” he concluded.

Tehran Stock Market Booming despite COVID-19 Pandemic

Tehran Stock Market Booming despite COVID-19 Pandemic

The current problems that the Iranian economy faces nowadays are big unemployment rate, low oil prices, as well as inflation. Last year the Iranian stock market has gained 225%, which is a great increase from the last few years.

The biggest struggles in the country are because of the Corona outbreak. The government encourages the privatization processes of state companies. Even the average person nowadays in Tehran has access to the stock market and everybody can trade shares or earn returns. The situation is similar in other countries as well. Even the USA faces the biggest unemployment numbers since the Great Depression.

Current Situation

A member of the Chamber of Commerce of Iran has mentioned that while the situation in Iran doesn’t seem good, the market is booming, but the stock market has its ups and downs, which is a very strange situation. That’s not the situation with the Tehran Stock Exchange. Since its beginnings in 1967, the stock market includes some of the major companies in Tehran, such as Iran Khodro, the famous car maker company. Even the average Iranian has noticed the rise of the stock market possibilities for the major Iranian companies.

Tehran Stock Market

The Stock Exchange Market lists more than half a million active traders. There are more than 12 million Iranians who have registered in the stock market to sell and buys stocks. As reported by Buy Shares, the estimated revenue is estimated to be 5% every day. Even president Hussein has mentioned the bright future of the Tehran stock market. The global situation on the stock marketplace is very chaotic, while the situation in the Tehran stock market seems to fall into place.

The booming stock market in Tehran is thanks to the company’s efforts and contribution to the current economic situation, the big shares of large Iranian corporations, as well as the business people in the country. Since the Islamic revolution in 1979, the Tehran stock market has undergone major changes. The 1990s in Iran are marked for the privation process and it’s the beginning of the privatization era in Tehran. The stock market has helped the Tehran economy to achieve this.

Results

This Saturday the main index of Tehran Stock Exchanges reached one million. It is almost doubled since the first Coronavirus case in the country. The biggest rally is between the companies in the petrochemical, industrial, and mineral stocks in the stock exchange market. Such companies are the National Iranian Cooper Industries, the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry, and the Mobarakeh Steel Co. The record in the stock market has boomed since the government has announced 2 billion state assets in order to provide a solution to the COVID 19 pandemic in Iran.

CF Patients Victims of US Sanctions against Iran: Official

CF Patients Victims of US Sanctions against Iran

Mahdi Shadnoush, the head of the Health Ministry’s management centre for transplantation and special diseases, told IRNA on Saturday that the families of some CF patients complain about the lack of foreign brands of this medicine. He said the domestic brands of this drug are available and are given to these patients free of charge, but the import of the foreign ones is not possible under US sanctions.

“In general, the import of foreign drugs is difficult and Pancreatin is no exception, but according to Iran’s Food and Drug Administration, the import of this medicine is on the agenda and we hope this drug will be available in the near future,” he added.

Shadnoush further noted that the Iran-made brand of this drug is available to CF patients. However, as the families of these patients are requesting the use of foreign drugs, we are pursuing its import; however, due to sanctions and the problem of currency transfer, it has not been possible to import it yet, he went on to say.

According to this Iranian health official there are 1,100 CF patients in Iran.
CF (cystic fibrosis) is a gastrointestinal disease. Due to their inability to absorb fat-soluble vitamins, CF patients take vitamins K, D, E and A on a daily basis, and 4 to 5 capsules of Pancreatin per day to absorb vitamins and minerals. These capsules contain digestive enzymes to help the patient’s body take vitamins, according to the report by IRNA.

Iran’s New Parliament Speaker Rejects Deal with US

Iran’s New Parliament Speaker Rejects Deal with US

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf quoted a verse from Holy Quran on his Twitter page implying that any compromise with infidels is disallowed.

“May you not fall short in the fight (against infidels) and be aware not to offer them a compromise. You are higher because God is with you and you can be sure that He will show you the result of your deeds (resistance),” reads his tweet, which is the translation of the verse he quoted.

Last week, the new parliament speaker in his first major speech at parliament had stressed any negotiation with the United States would be futile.

On Friday, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani vehemently rejected talks with Washington.

The reactions came after Donald Trump on Thursday thanked Iran for releasing Michael White who was imprisoned in the Islamic Republic. He also called on Tehran to start negotiations with his administration before 2020 Presidential election.

Iran Says Prisoner Swap with US Not Result of Negotiation

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said on Friday that US President Donald Trump has failed in many arenas and his team are making fake victories for him.

Ali Shamkhani wrote in a tweet that Trump’s situation is so bad, both in the international arena and in the corona management as well as regarding racial profiling inside the United States that his team has no choice but to produce fake successes.

“The exchange of prisoners is not the result of negotiation, and no negotiation will take place in the future,” reads Shamkhani’s tweet.

Earlier, Donald Trump stated in a tweet that the release of Michael White shows a deal is possible with Iran.
