Iran Seizes World’s Largest Amount of Narcotics Despite US Bans

Iran Seizes World’s Largest Amount of Narcotics Despite US Bans

Kazem Gharibabadi, the ambassador and permanent representative of Iran to the international organisations based in Vienna, says 30 Iranian people lost their lives or were wounded during 2,319 operations and armed clashes with smugglers last year.

The operations led to the destruction of 1,886 active international and domestic networks and the seizure of more than 950 tonnes of various drugs, including 47 tonnes of heroin and morphine and 17 tonnes of methamphetamine, he added.

Addressing a ceremony held on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Tehran, Gharibabadi said this amount of discoveries shows a nearly 20% increase in the volume of discoveries which is an unprecedented achievement in the history of Iran and the world.

He further noted that opium and psychotropic substances are being produced and cultivated at a high rate, and the illegal consumption and trafficking of drugs continues to have a profound negative impact on development and stability of the world.

Gharibabadi referred to the promotion of international cooperation, tangible support and increase of national and regional efforts as the only way to overcome the drug challenge.

He added that a balanced approach based on international drug conventions should guide all national, regional and international measures.

“Any approach aimed at decriminalising and legalising certain types of drugs would undermine international efforts to achieve a world free of drug abuse.”

He expressed regret that despite measures taken by the international community, the world continues to face growing drug problems, and drug use has increased worldwide, especially in developing countries.

Iran Leader Calls for All-Out Campaign against Corruption, Corrupt People

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday financial corruption is a dangerous disease.

“People become hopeful when they see unrestrained and unreserved fight against corrupt individuals because financial and economic corruption is very dangerous, contagious ad infectious like the coronavirus,” said the Leader.

He expressed satisfaction over the measures adopted by the Judiciary to combat corruption, saying, “Fight against corruption, which is at its height at this juncture, should be done without reservation and based on justice and law and without doing injustice and oppression to innocent people.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader underlined that the coronavirus outbreak is not over yet, urging all officials and people to take health protocols seriously in order to prevent a resurgence of the disease.

He also underlined the need for an “overhaul” in action.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemy leaves no stone unturned through media campaigns and creating pessimism in public opinion to neutralize any attempt aimed at bringing about reforms and overhaul in the system.

He urged authorities not to remain inactive and to bravely continue on the path to bringing about overhaul in order to counter efforts against change.

Arms Embargo Won’t Affect Iran’s Defence Power: Top General

Arms Embargo Won’t Affect Iran’s Defence Power: Top General

Major General Hossein Salami said Iran is under an international arms embargo.
“On the one hand, there are arms embargoes in place, and on the other, the US and its cronies are among the threats to us,” said General Salami, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

“This arms embargo gave [Iranian] scientists an opportunity to meet the country’s defence needs by drawing on domestic potential,” he added on the sidelines of visiting an exhibition showcasing the achievements and capabilities of the Research and Self-Sufficiency Organization of the IRGC’s Ground Force.

He said a whole variety of land weapons have been put on display at the exhibit.
The top general underscored using equipment that gives the military an edge will “prepare the lad force for a clear-cut war.”

He said Iran is has reached self-sufficiency when it comes to producing land weapons systems.

The top general said the IRGC will, in the near future, unveil systems used to attack the enemy unawares.

US Bans Iran Captains after Failure to Bribe Them: Minister

US Bans Iran Captains after Failure to Bribe Them

Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said the captains came under sanctions after they refused Washington’s offer of bribes in return for them not delivering the consignment.
“First they gave the captains offers and promises, then they [the Americans] threatened them,” said the minister.

“First, they [the Americans] said we would give you money, but they [the Iranian captains] didn’t accept. Then, they were put under sanctions,” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Zangeneh criticized those who claim Iran has not charged Venezuela for the gasoline shipment.

He said Venezuela has already paid part of the price for the consignment.

“We are doing trade with Venezuela. …. There have been some people talking as if we’re giving gasoline to Venezuela for free.”

“But that’s not the case. We sold it at the market price, and we received the necessary guarantees for its price to be paid. Part of that money has actually been paid to Iran,” he noted.

Telf AG: Concept of Franchise and Basic Principles of Franchising by Kondrashov

Telf AG: Concept of Franchise and Basic Principles of Franchising by Kondrashov

Financial analyst and businessman Stanislav Kondrashov told Telf AG what franchising is, on what basis they work, and why young entrepreneurs often choose franchising instead of starting a business from scratch.

Kondrashov: What is the franchise, its principle of operation for Telf AG

Mutually beneficial relations between two business entities are called franchising.
Telf AG Kondrashov said that when franchising one side gives its other name, gives use of its technology, shares commercial experience, and other secrets of doing business. In turn, the host side gets the opportunity to open a really working business, which will quickly bear fruit, since the brand is already hyped up and has its own target audience.

The subject of a franchise agreement is called a franchise. It represents the benefits that one company sells to another. At the same time, the franchising company is called the franchisor, and the franchisee is the franchisee.

Financial analyst Stanislav Kondrashov Telf AG considers the experience of such well-known companies as Subway, McDonald’s, Anytime Fitness, and others to be a successful example of franchising.

The success of franchising immediately depends on two business entities – how well the franchisor provides the franchise and how effectively the franchisee manages it. Accordingly, the cost of the franchise is determined by the name and promotion of the brand, as well as the quality of the franchisor’s provision of additional training services for staff and life hacks for doing business.

Telf AG Kondrashov said that having bought a franchise, the company immediately becomes the owner of the franchisor’s business building schemes, receives contacts of its suppliers, and the same favorable prices for their services and goods.

In addition, the expert added that the conditions under which a franchisee can use the listed benefits depend on the franchise package. It determines how to use the rights, technologies, and other materials provided by the franchisor company.

“A franchise package, in fact, includes a set of legal documents, as well as a brand book and a business book,” said expert Stanislav Kondrashov.

He pointed out the particular importance of the Telf AG brand book, which teaches franchisees to properly use the brand they acquired. A brand book is a guide to the correct design of points of sale, as well as informing the franchisee about what style should be the design of his office, what requirements should meet the logo, the range of goods and services, as well as POSM (brand logo products – cups, posters, key chains and other).

Lump-sum and royalty

The lump-sum includes many concepts. However, in simple words, we can say that this is the so-called franchise fee. Before buying a franchise, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the features of the conditions for paying a lump-sum payment in order to evaluate all the pros and cons of the franchise you are buying.

At the same time, royalty is a regular payment to the franchise owner, whose activities are not related to the sale of goods.

“As a rule, royalties are paid in the form of a fixed amount or a percentage of the institution’s turnover. Before signing a franchising agreement, it’s important to study these points and choose the most optimal one,” said Stanislav Kondrashov.

Franchising will be a profitable business option for those entrepreneurs who do not want to spend time developing a project from scratch and are afraid to fully take responsibility for creating a business.

Huge Gas Tank Blast Illuminates Tehran's Night Sky

Second Brigadier General Davoud Abdi, director general of the Defense Ministry’s Public Relations Office, told IRNA that the gas tank blast had taken place in the “public area” of Parchin.

“Fortunately, the explosion did not cause any casualties,” he added, noting that the fire resulting from the blast was also controlled after prompt action by fire fighting personnel.

“Our colleagues have reached the area to closely examine the incident,” Abdi said, adding that further information about the explosion would be duly announced by relevant authorities.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) news agency also attributed the blast to a fire at a gas tank, and noted that the incident had taken place in a non-residential area.
