The virus has crippled stock markets all over the world and has shown how vulnerable fiat currencies can be. This has convinced many to turn to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

What Makes Bitcoin a Safe Currency?

The existence of Bitcoin goes back to 2009 and there are many reasons this cryptocurrency gained worldwide attention. It’s a currency not bound to any authority which means that its users have a lot of freedom in its usage. This because Bitcoin allows remote payments something that was thought of as a convenience in the beginning but it turned out to be a necessity during these hard times. How Is Bitcoin Doing Today?

The federal banks of the US aren’t the only ones with an open mind. UNICEF has also turned to cryptocurrencies in the fight against the pandemic. They have announced that they’ve had several Bitcoin donors in the past few months and are looking to bring a big one on board. The fund known as the CryptoFund has already been provided $100,000 fiat money to help with the development of open-source digital services that will manage the health, education, and economic problems the pandemic has caused.

Since banks and international institutions like UNICEF have turned to Bitcoin in the hopes of tackling the economic crisis then it’s clear that this cryptocurrency will have an important role in the months to come. Of all the facts are taken into consideration then Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies might be a significant tool in battling the COVID 19 pandemic and bringing the economy back on track.

Over 2,000 Iranian COVID-19 Patients Hospitalized in 24 Hours

In a press briefing on Thursday, Sima-Sadat Lari said the new cases of infection increase the total number of cases to 284,034.

She said 221 people have also died of the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 15,074.

The spokeswoman said 247,230 patients have so far recovered from the disease, and been discharged from hospital, but 3,667 patients are still in severe conditions of the disease.

Lari noted that 2,254,123 COVID-19 tests have been taken across the country.

As in previous days, she said, the red zones include Mazandaran, Fars, East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan, Khorasan Razavi, Alborz, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Golestan, Kerman, Zanjan, and Ilam provinces.

Tehran, Isfahan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Qazvin, Markazi, North Khorasan, Hamadan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Ardabil, and Kohgiliyeh and Buyer-Ahmad provinces are also in orange zone, the spokeswoman stated.

Sardar Azmoun Named Top Goal Scorer of Russian Football League

Both Azmoun and teammate Artem Dzyuba played 28 games, with both forwards scoring 17 goals, but the Iranian was ahead of the Russian striker by virtue of fewer goals from the penalty spot. Azmoun scored one penalty, whereas Dzyuba scored seven.

In the history of the RPL, Azmoun is the third Zenit player to finish a season as top scorer.
Last month, in a poll conducted by the-afc.com, Azmoun was chosen as Asia’s Greatest Russian Premier League player.

Much was expected of Azmoun when he was snapped up by Rubin Kazan as an 18-year-old, and he has grown to become a superstar of Asian football.

After Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Azmoun is the second most expensive Iranian player of all-time. He is both the youngest Iranian to score in a Champions League game, as well as the Iranian record-holder for the most goals scored in UEFA Champions League games, having scored 4 goals in the two seasons he has taken part in the tournament.

Tehran War Cemetery; A World War Site Inside British Embassy

Spokesman Answers Questions on Cyberattacks on Iran

What follows are the spokesperson’s answers to questions asked by reporters:

Q: Given the claims that have been raised recently in the media, do you confirm that cyberattacks have been launched against Iran?

Mousavi: Thousands of cyberattacks are launched against the country’s infrastructure on a daily basis, which is not anything new. Most of those attacks are repulsed by our defence systems and the “cyber incident response teams” without making any impact. Over the past recent months, a couple of cyberattacks on a broader scale have been also launched against the country’s infrastructure, as with the analysis of the dimensions and the technology used [in the attacks], one can say they have been sponsored or launched by governments. Fortunately, the attackers have not achieved their main objectives in those attacks. Forensic technical and electronic investigations have been conducted by the local experts, and the governments sponsoring and directing the attacks (in some cases the sponsor state) and the groups aiding and abetting the attacks have been identified.

The extent of committing crimes and the activities violating the international regulations -most violations in the latter case are committed by the US government- is a worrying issue for the entire world, and the international community must give an appropriate response to it.

Q: Were the recent acts of sabotage and fires caused by those attacks? Specifically considering the news that the US president has ordered cyberattacks on Iran and a number of others countries.

Mousavi: No, the recent fires have had nothing to do with the cyberattacks. Given Mr. Trump’s order, it would be perfectly natural to say that the US government will be the prime suspect for any cyberattack against Iran hereafter, unless the contrary is proved.

We will put plans on the agenda for international action against such illegal and criminal order and for proving the US government’s liability. Moreover, we preserve the right to legitimate defense and proportional and appropriate response to the aggression and harm against our country in the face of cyber and non-cyber attacks.

Q: Has Iran given any response to the attacks or does it have any intention to do so?

Mousavi: First, let’s make it clear that unofficial assumption of responsibility by the others or the empty bluffs after every single incident in our country reveal their absolute frustration and incapability, because limited fires in the woods, refineries etc. in the summertime is neither peculiar nor something happening this year alone. Thus, what we talk about do not necessarily relate to the incidents in your mind.

Iran preserves the right to take the appropriate and proportional reciprocal action at the appropriate time. We may employ any tool to defend ourselves against the cyberattacks, including the cyberspace or other weaponry. Moreover, we will do our utmost to prove the international responsibility of the country starting or facilitating such attacks, and to make them be accountable for their illegal measures.

Harsher Revenge Awaiting US for Gen. Soleimani Assassination: Iran

In a post on his Twitter account on Wednesday, Shamkhani lashed out at US President Donald Trump for confessing brazenly that he had given the US Army direct order to commit the crime of assassinating “two bright figures of the fight against terrorism”, namely Lt. General Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

“The two nations of Iran and Iraq want revenge for the blood of those martyrs and will not stay calm until they have not punished the perpetrators,” he underlined.

“A harsher revenge will be coming,” Shamkhani warned.

His comments came one day after Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned the United States that Iran will definitely reciprocate the assassination of Lt. General Qassem Soleimani.

In a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi in Tehran on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran will never forget the American assassination of General Soleimani in Iraq and “it will definitely deal the reciprocal blow to Americans.”

On January 3, a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport assassinated General Soleimani, former commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. The attack — that also killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) anti-terror group, along with several others — came while General Soleimani was on an official visit to the Iraqi capital.

The windmills in Sistan and Baluchestan have had larger dimensions than those in other areas due to the type of wind that blows there.

Made of a different type of stone, some of them generated about 85 horsepower.

The windmills in Khorasan and Herat had only one angled blade of about nine metres with an inlet; while the windmills in Sistan had 12-metre blades with two inlets.

All the windmills in Iran follow this pattern.

The knowhow of windmill construction has been transferred by the Islamic civilization to the eastern and western parts of Mediterranean sea, and through the islands of Sicily to the northern Europe.

Now only 15 ancient windmills have remained in Sistan and Baluchestan. Some of these historical structures are being restored.
