In a statement on Tuesday, Mousavi said cooperation and synergy among all countries in the world, especially regional states, is the only way to fight the big phenomenon of terrorism in a fundamental way.

Four gunmen attacked the stock exchange in Karachi, killing two guards and a policeman and wounding seven others before being shot dead.

The assailants launched a grenade attack at the main gate to the building and opened fire but police say they failed to make it to the trading floor.

Staff took refuge in locked rooms and many were evacuated as security forces put an end to the assault.

Militants from the Baloch Liberation Army say they were behind the attack.

Persian Architecture in Photos: House of Imam Jomeh

House of Imam Jomeh

The House of Imam Jomeh is located in Nasser Khosrow Street, near Imam Khomeini Square of Tehran in Oudlajan, an aristocratic neighbourhood of distant past.

An exquisite building of Qajar era, it served first as the residence of Mirza Aqa Khan Nuri, the Prime Minister of Nasser al-Din Shah before being bought by the then Imam of Tehran Friday prayers.

The Iranian Fund for the Restoration and Exploitation of Historic Monuments, the owner of building, called it “Tehran’s most exquisite house” during an auction last year.

Features of an Exquisite House

The building has a total area of about 879 m2. The pool house is located in the first floor, while the second floor includes a summer and a winter hall; which are separated from each other and the outside space by sliding sashes. There is a porch with two tall columns in front of the mansion.

The House of Imam Jomeh has magnificent decorations such as mirror work, painting on plaster, stucco, sash and coloured glass. It is one of the most valuable historical houses in Tehran, even compared to the famous Shams-ol-Emareh mansion in Golestan Palace.

The traces of ancient Iranian art are clearly seen in this building; from the claw-shaped leaves in the courtyard’s engravings, to the chain-formed interior stuccos designed according to the ancient patterns which combine vegetal and geometric shapes.

In traditional Iranian houses, the courtyard’s ponds and gardens used to be considered as important architectural elements; and the building is an outstanding example of this approach.

The House of Imam Jomeh was owned by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Arts before the country’s 1979 Revolution, and is now managed by the Cultural Heritage Ministry.

Prior coordination is needed these days to visit the mansion; however, arrangements are being made to make it accessible to visitors every day in the coming weeks.
What follows are Tehran Picture Agency’s images of the house:

Ruhollah Zam Sentenced to Death for ‘Corruption on Earth’

Ruhollah Zam Sentenced to Death for 'Corruption on Earth'

Judiciary spokesman Gholam-Hossein Esmaeili announced on Tuesday that the investigations into Zam’s case had been finalized, and that he had been found guilty of corruption on earth, among other crimes.

“The court has considered 13 counts of charges together as instances of corruption on earth, and therefore passed the death sentence,” he said.

“Regarding several other charges, he has been sentenced to life in prison, but the ruling is not final and can be appealed at the Supreme Court,” the official added.

Amad News was notorious for disseminating incriminating content against the Islamic establishment, insulting the sanctity of Iranian Muslims and publishing fake news in order to drive a wedge between the Iranian people and government.

Zam faced charges of having “committed offenses against the country’s internal and external security” and “espionage for the French intelligence service,” alongside “corruption on earth” as well as insult to “the sanctity of Islam” according to an indictment released in February.

He was arrested in October 2019 by the Intelligence Organization of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corp (IRGC).

The meticulous intelligence operation involved outmaneuvering the intelligence services of certain Western countries, especially France, which offered Zam guidance and protection for his operation.

“Intelligence forces had been keeping a watchful eye on Rouhollah Zam’s movements for a long time and he stepped into the intelligence trap set by IRGC some two years ago. Ultimately, we were able to arrest him through cooperation with other intelligence services,” Second Brigadier General Mohammad Tavallaei, a high-ranking IRGC official, said at the time.

Iran Makes Wearing Masks in Public Places Obligatory as of July 5

Iran Makes Wearing Masks in Public Places Obligatory as of July 5

Sima-Sadat Lari said wearing masks plays a key role in containing the disease.
“If all people use masks, coronavirus infection will be prevented by up to 95%,” she added.

“The government will take into consideration the necessary guarantees for mandating the use of masks,” she added.

“The Oil Ministry has also been commissioned to provide enough and inexpensive masks for people,” said the spokeswoman.

“We are still in the first wave of the corona outbreak. If provinces which have got through the first peak and now are in a calm situation reach a peak again, that would be called the ‘second peak’. Anyway, the health ministry’s priority for managing the coronavirus outbreak is prevention, and this is possible if all people wear masks,” she added.

“We should urge people to use masks in public places,” Lari said.

US Alone in Anti-Iran Stance at UN Security Council: Envoy

‘King Salman Pins Blame on Iran to Cover Up Riyadh Dark Record’

Majid Takht-e Ravanchi says Washington’s position on UNSC Resolution 2231 has been different from those of other countries in all UN Security Council meetings held to review the implementation of the resolution.

“In those meetings, the US was the only country to criticize the JCPOA and have a position on Resolution 2231 different from those of other UNSC members,” he said.
He said the US is likely to adopt the same position in the upcoming meeting of the Security Council on July 1, 2020 to discuss the resolution.

He said the US was one of the countries which initiated the resolution, but now is violating it.

“It seems the same thing goes for the meeting to be held on Tuesday, which will once again show to the international community what approach the US has adopted on a resolution one of whose supporters was Washington itself. The US was one of the initiators of Resolution 2231. And now, the US is a country which is violating this resolution,” he said.

“Not only does the US breach this resolution, but it is punishing the countries that are enforcing the resolution. Overall, I predict the Tuesday meeting will, once again, show that the US is isolated in its stance,” said the top Iranian diplomat.

He said the UN Security Council meets every six months to discuss the resolution.

“The meeting to be held at the [UN] Security Council on Tuesday is an ordinary meeting held every six months to discuss the UNSC’s Resolution 2231. The UN Security Council meets twice a year to review the manner of the implementation of the resolution,”

He reiterated that no country supported the US in any of the previous meetings.
“The United States was isolated in almost all the three previous meetings which, as I said, are held every six months at the UN Security Council to discuss this subject,” he said.

Tehran Raps Saudi Arabia, Bahrain for Backing US Anti-Iran Stance

Tehran Raps Saudi Arabia, Bahrain for Backing US Anti-Iran Stance

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi’s criticism came in reaction to unfounded accusations and interventionist remarks by officials of some countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

“It is very surprising that countries such as Saudi Arabia, which, themselves, are a source of terrorism and extremism and have fueled instability in the region by supporting terrorist groups like al-Qaeda for years, are levelling groundless accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which, with its responsible behaviour, has rid the region of terrorist groups,” said the spokesman.

He touched upon the US sending a representative on a tour of the region to win regional countries’ backing for Washington’s demand that the UN arms embargo on Iran be extended.

Mousavi said the countries supporting the US stance are “those that have, for more than five years, been killing thousands of people, including Yemeni women and children.”

“It is time that these countries gave up injudicious remarks and blind obedience to the US, which is the symbol of oppression and injustice in the world, and came to realize that security cannot be ensured with obedience to the United States,” he noted.

“The only way to establish stability and security in the region is to change hostile behaviour and turn to regional cooperation,” Mousavi added.

On Monday, the US and Bahrain, in a joint statement, issued a joint statement, calling for the renewal of an arms embargo on Iran. In their joint statement, Washington and Manama claimed Iran has disrupted the stability and security of Bahrain by supplying weapons to terrorists.

The US and Bahrain also called on the UN Security Council to extend an arms embargo on Iran which will expire in October, 2020 based on the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

The United States has been trying hard to have the arms embargo on Iran extended.

Iranian Researchers Develop Haemostatic Nanogauze

Iranian Researchers Develop Haemostatic Nanogauze

The nanogauze is capable of staunching the flow of blood as well.

Products which can make bleeding stop are among the medical supplies high in demand, and they have secured a considerable market share in Iran.

The market is the target of many foreign commercial firms, too.

While only a limited number of domestic producers are active in this domain, a team of researchers have recently managed to produce a new type of wound dressing (Nanohem) based on nanotechnology.

“The nanogauze is a product capable of stemming the flow of blood,” said Tayyebeh Zahrabi, the manager of the research team.

“Peptide nanofibers have been used for the first time in producing this dressing which can effectively stop bleeding,” she noted.

“This has resulted in the production of a haemostatic product which is environmentally friendly,” she said.

“This product is produced based on biotechnology and nanotechnology. In fact, the main material of the gauze, which is a peptide part, was developed based on biotechnology, and then nanotechnology was applied to produce nanofibres from the peptide part already developed,” he said.

“This product is used as a haemostatic material by surgeons and orthopedic doctors. It can also be used by doctors and personnel at medical emergency centres, emergency wards at hospitals and state-run centres such as [clinics of] the Red Crescent and the Armed Forces,” she added.

Zahrabi noted that product can also be used as part of a first aid kit by the general public.

In severe blooding, she said, conventional types of gauze and dressing are usually put on the wound with “pressure” to stem the flow of blood. However, she added, the newly developed nanogauze can be used with “minimum pressure” on the wound to make bleeding stop.

She said the nanogauze is an ideal product for haemophilic patients as blood fails to coagulate in their bodies when they get a wound or cut in their skin.

“There are around 12,000 haemophilic patients in Iran,” she said.

She added the product has a quality similar to that of foreign products, but has a lower price.

She said the nanogauze has the potential to be exported, which could boost national forex income.

5 Top Warehouse Safety Precautions for a Successful Operation

5 Top Warehouse Safety Precautions for a Successful Operation 1

How can you keep your warehouse operation safe?

No employer wants their staff to be injured. Not only is it a liability and insurance concern, but you also lose productivity and your employees lose a friend and colleague for a time. As a warehouse manager or owner, you might feel like you’re limited in what you can do. After all, you can have all the safety rules in the world but your employees have to follow them.

The good news is that – aside from enforcing safety rules – there are things you can do to make your warehouse safer overall. Here are five tips you can start implementing today.

Schedule Regular Safety Protocol Training

Yes, your employees may roll their eyes, but they’ll be glad when they go home with all their fingers and toes. At least every quarter, hold training to keep everyone up to speed and on the same page.

If you make any updates to the safety manual, make sure you host a training as well. You want to address any important changes in uniform, safety equipment, forklift features, and more.5 Top Warehouse Safety Precautions for a Successful Operation 2

Appoint Team Leaders to Manage Clutter and Spills

One person can’t make sure an entire warehouse stays clean, but if you assign leaders to various areas, you’ll have a much better chance.

These leads should be held accountable for managing boxes, debris, and any spills that happen. Preventing slips and falls is one of the top priorities when it comes to warehouse safety, as these simple accidents are the most common cause of injury.

Create a checklist and ensure it’s followed at the start of each shift, and walk the floor to monitor cleanliness and perform spot-checks.

Post-Safety Expectations Throughout the Workplace

Consistent visual reminders are a huge boost to your verbal instruction. Safety expectations should be placed throughout areas where key equipment is used, from hand dollies to Counterbalance Lift Truck Rear Post.

The posters and reminders can help employees stay aware of the risks involved in operating equipment so they take precautions to avoid injury. A picture is worth 1000 words, so focus on visual signs over wordy ones.

Reward Workplace Safety

Employees can get comfortable with their jobs and may not always follow the rules. To keep them vigilant, consider ways you can reward them for safe behaviour. Too many warehouse owners and managers focus only on correction, which can create a negative environment.

Consider a reward for a number of consecutive days of passed safety checks. This can be as simple as buying subs for the shift for lunch. You can also reward individual safety behaviours with gift cards or an entry into a drawing for a larger prize. 5 Top Warehouse Safety Precautions for a Successful Operation 3

Frequently Check Safety Equipment

If there’s an emergency, you want everything from sprinklers to first aid kids to be in top shape. The only way they stay that way is if you check on them regularly. A simple walk-around with a checklist makes this easy.

Are there boxes blocking a sprinkler, emergency exit, or fire extinguisher? Are the medical supplies up-to-date in each kit? Are spare batteries in good order? Do fire alarms work properly?

Reviewing the condition of safety equipment is a low-cost way you can make a big difference in employee safety in your warehouse.

Keep Your Staff Safe

When you follow these five safety tips and hire a safety training consultant, you’ll be able to keep your warehouse in great shape. Your work environment will be safer, employees will go home each night in one piece, and you’ll have the peace of mind that you’ve done all you can to prevent accidents.

US Push for Economic Collapse of Iran Has Gone Nowhere: VP

US Push for Economic Collapse of Iran Has Gone Nowhere: VP

In a Monday meeting with members of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Jahangiri said the US government had plans for economic collapse of Iran through harsh and targeted sanctions, but the plot has ended in total failure.

“By the grace of God and with resistance from the great Iranian nation and the determination of all officials and the private sector, the American objective resulted in failure,” the vice president added.

While the outbreak of coronavirus has dealt a heavy blow to the world’s major and large economies, the pandemic, coupled with the sanctions, has harmed Iran’s economy as well, Jahangiri noted, saying the Iranian economy has been able to withstand the pressures and is going to overcome the problems.

“What is important is that all of us would try to help the country get through such difficult stage with success,” he noted.

The vice president also praised the Iranian private sector, exporters and importers for serving the country’s economy, saying the administration is doing its utmost to support and empower the private sector.

In remarks in May, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the country’s success in tackling the coronavirus epidemic and dealing with the “virus of US sanctions” shows that Americans will never be able to bring the Iranian nation to its knees and will have to remain in despair over their wrong approaches.
