Official: Iran daily gasoline production reaches 120 million liters

Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar said that Iran currently has 10 main refineries, which have a capacity of over 2.4 million barrels per day, processing crude oil and gas condensates.

Azimifar added that in the second half of the last Iranian year, an average of 8 million liters was added to the country’s gasoline production and 7 million liters per day to the production of diesel fuel.

The Deputy Minister of Oil emphasized that the growth of the refining industry last year compared to the previous year was 5%, with nearly 100,000 barrels per day added to the country’s product output.

Azimifar also stated that in the Tehran refinery, a project to improve gasoline quality aimed at increasing production by 20% and upgrading the gasoline standard to Euro 5 will be operational this year.

He continued: “We anticipate that at least one new refining project will be added to the country’s refineries this year.”

Azimifar also noted that addressing energy imbalance cannot rely solely on increasing production. Energy consumption in the country is about two and a half times the global average. The aging transportation fleet has also caused its fuel consumption to be more than twice the global average. Additionally, attention must be paid to diversifying the fuel mix in the country.

Official: Iran to continue research on stable isotopes, nuclear fusion

Ali Norouzi also underlined the necessity to complete the construction of the isotope separation center, enhance cooperation with knowledge-based companies and universities across the country, and revive the National Fusion Center in Iran.

Norouzi stated in the past Iranian year (1403), the Advanced Technologies Company vigorously pursued its activities in two key areas—stable isotope production and nuclear fusion.

He said, “We successfully produced iridium hexafluoride feedstock, which is used to separate Iridium-191. When placed in a reactor, Iridium-191 transforms into Iridium-192, a radiopharmaceutical used to treat head, neck, and breast cancers.”

The CEO of Iran’s Advanced Technologies Company added: “In 1403, we also achieved the production of tellurium dioxide, which is used in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancers. Additionally, we began manufacturing similar products, including Xenon-129, used in lung MRI imaging.”

He further noted: “Last year, we launched the second and final phase of constructing the National Research and Stable Isotope Production Center using gas centrifuge technology. This facility will encompass large-scale enrichment and isotope separation processes. Once completed, Iran will achieve full self-sufficiency in producing stable isotopes, which serve as raw materials for radiopharmaceuticals.”

Norouzi also highlighted the role of Iranian knowledge-based companies in advancing the country’s nuclear progress.

IRGC Navy Commander: Iran Will Pursue Attackers into Gulf of Mexico

Speaking in an interview with Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen TV aboard an Iranian drone carrier warship, Tangsiri addressed a recent message from US President Donald Trump to Iran, stating that he was unaware of its content, firmly declaring that Iran will not engage in any talks with the US regarding its military capabilities.

The IRGC Navy commander warned, “If Iranian ships are attacked, we will undoubtedly respond in kind. If they seize our ships, we will seize theirs. No one can strike us and escape—even if we have to pursue them into the Gulf of Mexico, we will do so.”

Tangsiri revealed that Iran possesses missile-equipped boats and long-range missile systems, whose exact ranges cannot be disclosed. These assets are hidden from enemy sight and are capable of striking all enemy bases, wherever they may be.

The commander reaffirmed Iran’s backing of the Islamic Resistance, stating that from Lebanon to Gaza, Yemen, and Iraq, the resistance stands firm and will not surrender to domination. However, he clarified that resistance groups are not under Iran’s command.

In another part of the interview, Tangsiri stressed the Islamic Republic of Iran extends a message of peace, brotherhood, and friendship to Islamic nations in the region. These countries are sacred and dear to Iran. As a Muslim nation, Iran poses no threat to its neighbors.
