Raisi in Kuzestan vows to Address Ongoing Problems

“My and my administration’s whole concern is to solve the problems of all people across the country, especially those in this resistant province, in cooperation with people themselves,” said Raisi during an unannounced visit to Khuzestan, which was his first provincial trip as president.

Raisi said he had planned to travel to the province earlier, but he was unable to because he was dealing with a lot of work associated with problems concerning the establishment of the new administration.

“There are very good people in Khuzestan, who did their utmost to defend the country, and our nation are beholden to them,” he explained.

“I was really keen to have a meeting with the good people of this province, but due to the coronavirus disease and the necessity of observing health protocols, it is not possible to have public meetings with people,” said the president.

“But I will get a first-hand account of the problems facing Khuzestan during brief meetings with provincial managers in different sectors,” he added.

“During this meeting, I will have consultations with ministers and provincial officials in order to work out proper solutions in order to rapidly settle the problems facing he province, and proper decisions will be made accordingly,” President Raisi said.

This comes as the province had, in recent months, seen protests over a shortage of potable water, a problem worsened by the coronavirus outbreak.

Currently, some 20 towns and cities in Khuzestan province are rated as very high-risk spots and several as high-risk locations in terms of COVID-19 transmission.

Rouhgly 1 million 447 thousand people in the province have received he coronavirus jab so far.

Iran Condemns Deadly Terrorist Attacks at Kabul Airport

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh condemned attacks targeting innocent Afghan people as well as any terrorist operations directed at men, women, youth and children.

He expressed hope with the immediate establishment of a broad-based government in Kabul, relevant government bodies and institutions discharge their responsibilities with regards to protecting people’s lives and property.

Scores of Afghan civilians and at least 13 members of the US military were killed and many more injured in Kabul suicide bombing attacks claimed by the Daesh terrorist group.

Two explosions rattled the area outside the airport in the Afghan capital on Thursday (August 26) amid the precarious security situation following the Taliban’s takeover of the country.

The attacks killed 12 US Marines and one Navy medic, US officials confirmed, noting 18 other US service members were injured.

A senior Afghan health official also said 90 Afghan civilians were dead and over 100 others wounded.

Meanwhile, General Kenneth McKenzie, commander of US Central Command, said that the United States would retaliate against the perpetrators of the attack.

“We believe it is their desire to continue these attacks and we expect those attacks to continue and we’re doing everything we can to be prepared for those attacks,” McKenzie said, noting, “We will go after them.”

Amir Abdollahian: Iran ready to meet Pakistan energy needs

During their discussions, the two top diplomats emphasized the need for the enhancement of bilateral ties on political and economic fronts.

They also exchanged views on the positive steps taken in recent months with regards to the promotion of Tehran-Islamabad economic relations, particularly the establishment of two new border posts and holding of a joint economic commission as well as a joint trade committee meeting in the near future.

In the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister underscored the need to remove infrastructural obstacles to the promotion of bilateral ties, resolve the existing problems at border crossings, namely facilitate the travelling of trucks through Iran-Pakistan border posts, and further enhance mutual economic relations given the fact that the two countries’ economies complement each other.

He also underlined Iran’s preparedness to meet Pakistan’s energy needs, especially in the domains of natural gas, electricity and industrial products.
He further touched upon Iran’s economic needs which could be met by Pakistani products.

The top Pakistani diplomat, in turn, expounded on his negotiations with officials of three Central Asian countries as well as on the latest situation in Afghanistan.

Also on the agenda of the talks was Tehran and Pakistan’s support for peace and stability in Afghanistan and the establishment of a broad-based government in that country with the presence of all ethnic groups.

Meanwhile, the Iranian foreign minister embraced his opposite number’s proposal to hold a foreign ministerial meeting of six neighbouring countries, announcing Tehran’s readiness to host that meeting in the coming days.

Raisi: US Afghan withdrawal a chance to establish peace, security

Ebrahim Raisi made the remarks in a Thursday meeting with visiting Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureishi in Teran.

He noted there’s no doubt that the US presence in Afghanistan and the wider region would not bring security and regional nations must join hands in helping Afghan factions create an inclusive government.

Raisi also rejected any paternalistic attitude toward Afghanistan. He said paternalism shows the US’s failed policy on Afghanistan and cannot establish peace in the country.

Raisi added that other countries must also limit their role to assisting in creating an inclusive government with the participation of all Afghan groups and ethnicities.

Raisi went on to say that Iran has hosted 4 million Afghan refugees so far and will continue supporting the Afghan people.

He also described Iran’s relations with Pakistan as “age-old” and “people-based”, saying Tehran is ready to boost economic ties with Islamabad.
The Iranian president added that strengthened relations will set the stage for the development of regional and international cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.

The Pakistani foreign minister also described ties with Iran as historical and deep, saying Pakistan seeks to further expand the relations in all areas including regional and economic ties.

Qureishi said Iran is a key player in the region and Pakistan believes it can work with Iran toward strengthening peace in the region, especially in Afghanistan.

He hailed Iran’s resistance against sanctions, saying the Iranian people safeguarded their honor against the sanctions.

Qureshi also invited Iran’s president for a visit to Pakistan.

Raisi urges quick vaccination against covid-19

Speaking at the first cabinet session of his administration on Thursday, Ebrahim Raisi said the main problem facing Iran is the Coronavirus.

Raeisi urged all state organizations to join hands to defeat the pandemic, adding, “We should guarantee people’s vaccination and health in a short period of time”.

He said it’s time Iran moved from the defensive to the offensive in the battle against Covid-19 and to prevent and overcome the disease.

The President ordered the Foreign Ministry to do necessary consultations to increase vaccine imports.

Iran’s health ministry reported on Thursday 694 have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll from the disease to 104,716.

Raisi also added Iran’s conditions are unbecoming the great Iranian nation and they must change.

He said people’s servants must do all in their power to resolve the problems faced by Iranians.

Ayatollah Raeisi also said citizens must feel justice and progress in running the country adding that abiding by the law is a basic rule and it is compatible with being a revolutionary.

He said, “We should not allow ourselves to be entangled by paperwork and administrative complications; people expect the government to fight corruption”.

While noting that people expect the government to fight corruption, Ayatollah Raeisi said the ministers must identify points that are vulnerable to corruption and make necessary changes.

He underlined that his administration will invoke the Supreme Leader’s 8-point message of 2001 in its fight against corruption.

Saying that he’ll stick by his campaign promises, the Iranian president noted that his administration should learn lessons from previous ones and try to avoid problems they faced.

He further turned to inflation and the need for tackling the problem. Raisi described the issue as highly important and said people expect officials not to sit idly by.

Iran Beauties in Photos; Imam Mosque of Semnan

The mosque is a four-aisled structure in terms of architecture. It is one of the historical monuments built during the reign of Fat’h Ali Shah Qajar, around 200 years ago.

It has four large entrances from the north, south, east and northwest. In the northwest, it opens into a long corridor, at the end of which there is mourning zone.

The special decorations of Imam Mosque are beautiful gypsum plasterworks, tiles and inscriptions decorated with Quranic verses.

The mosque was registered in 1936 by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Arts in the list of national monuments of the country.

New consignment of covid vaccines in Tehran

Iran’s Red Crescent says the shipment contains 1,110,000 doses of vaccine. The head of the Red Crescent, Karim Hemmati, said the organization is continuing to import two Covid vaccine consignments each week.

According to Hemmati, the Red Crescent imports the shipments from China and delivers the vaccines to the Ministry of Health after collecting them at Imam Khomeini Airport.

Hemmati added that Iran gas so far imported 17 shipments including 20,390,000 doses.

He said the Red Crescent has taken a series of measures to help contain the pandemic such as speeding up imports; forming the Covid headquarters; participating in the vaccination campaign; setting up makeshift hospitals; implementing health programs to prevent further expansion of the disease; checking travelers arriving by air, land and sea; and developing the production of syringes.

Iran has had difficulty importing vaccines since the pandemic began in early 2020. Authorities blame this on US sanctions. They say the sanctions make it extremely difficult to make payments for the imports. Delays in vaccine purchases and the resulting slow vaccination rollout caused public anger in the country.

To fight the pandemic, Iran is partly depending on home-grown vaccines too.

After the honorable President, Ayatollah Raeisi, placed his trust in me, and the respectable MPs endorsed my appointment as Foreign Minister, I assumed the heavy task of representing the great Iranian nation at the international level. I pray to God to help me be a worthy servant for the people of this great and ancient land of religions and civilizations. 

I promise the grateful and brave people of Iran that my colleagues and I will utilize our utmost energy to promote Iran’s national interests and national security. We also promise not to hesitate to do whatever it takes to defend the Islamic Republic of Iran’s honor, clout and lofty place and to pursue the lofty goals of late Imam Khomeini, the Supreme Leader and our dear martyrs. 

With an operational plan, we will pursue balanced, dynamic and smart foreign relations based on mutual respect and our priority will be relations with neighbors and Asian countries. We will also expand ties with the rest of the world in a balanced way and will strengthen the place of economic diplomacy and international commerce in the Foreign Ministry. 

I will also use the full potential of the diplomatic apparatus to resolve the problems of the Iranian people and elevate the name of our country and nation in the world with the help of my hardworking, revolutionary, expert and committed colleagues in the Foreign Ministry,  diplomatic missions, consulates general, and provincial offices.

Kuwaiti FM congratulates Iran’s Amir Abdollahian

In a phone call to Amir Abdollahian, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister called for deeper ties between his country and Iran in all areas and also urged increased cooperation in the region.

Al-Sabah also extended the Kuwaiti Emir’s warm greetings to high-ranking Iranian officials.

The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked his Kuwaiti counterpart for his phone call. He also underscored Iran’s policy to have good-neighborly relations with regional countries.

Amir Abdollahian said the Islamic Republic of Iran sees no limits on expanding ties with Persian Gulf neighbors and considers it highly important to deepen relations with Kuwait.

Russian FM congratulates Iranian counterpart

The Russian foreign minister underlined the need for maintaining close cooperation between Iran and Russia with the aim of further deepening interactions to serve the best interests of the two friendly nations and to strengthen international peace and security.
