Iran Missile

The source told Tasnim News Agency that the IRGC punished the Zionists using 10 homegrown Fateh precision missiles including Fateh-110 ones.

He noted that the missiles hit a gathering of the Zionists and it’s highly likely that they suffered heavy casualties in the attack given the number of individuals that are in the base.

The source also said the missiles were fired from Iran’s northwestern region and all of the projectiles hit their intended targets.

He underlined that the main target of the attack was the headquarters of the Zionists which is away from that of the US.

The source further spoke about why Iran did the attack, saying some heinous crimes by the Zionist regime were organized inside the Iraqi territory and that the IRGC sought to punish the regime right there.

The source also warned of an appropriate response if the Zionists continue their evil activities.

Iranian MP: Russia Tehran’s ally, defending own national interests

Kremlin

Mahmood Abbaszadeh was answering questions in an interview regarding Moscow’s role in the pause in the Vienna talks.

He said Russia is Iran’s trading partner and acts as an ally in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The MP noted that Russia has demanded guarantees from the US in regard to Ukraine-related sanctions and this is something between Moscow and Washington.

Abbaszadeh noted that Russia has supported Iran more than before during the latest round of negotiations in Vienna.

The spokesman also noted that after Iran and the P4+1 group reached the political stage of negotiations in Vienna, talks have slowed down a bit and this is something that goes back to before the Ukraine conflict.

He added that Iran is trying not to be affected by this issue, which means that talks with the P4+1 are an independent issue and have nothing to do with the Ukraine crisis.

Abbaszadeh said Iran and the other sides have resolved 90 percent of their differences, and only a few ones, including the issue of guarantees, remain, and that Tehran believes a good agreement will not be reached unless these disputes are resolved.

The lawmaker added that the Western side has failed to fulfill its obligations in the past, and Iran wants a guarantee mechanism in this agreement.

According to him, there are also a few anti-Iran sanctions that the West wants to maintain, but the parliament will not accept this.

Authorities say the sixth wave of the Coronavirus pandemic in Iran is now subsiding. They however urge people to remain vigilant and avoid easing health protocols.

The number of triple-vaxxed people in Iran has now crossed the 25 million mark. The total number of vaccine doses administered since the start of the inoculation campaign in the country is 144,800,754.

Meanwhile, the number of blue cities where things have almost returned to normal is 9 while 99 cities are still red, the highest level of risk from Covid.

Iranian MPs to Vienna negotiators: Any sanctions removal must be inclusive, effective

They said given the Ukraine crisis, the West increasingly needs energy imports from Iran but any energy deal with the US must meet Iran’s righteous demands.

They stressed that the negotiating team should not feel bound by the fake deadlines of the West in the Vienna talks, and should pursue the stated goals of Iran without delay by standing up for the protection of national interests and the Islamic Republic’s main demands and red lines.

They also urged the Iranian delegation in Vienna to obtain adequate economic, technical and political guarantees from the US that it will not again illegally withdraw from the nuclear agreement.

The statement said Iran should also push for receiving reparations from the US due to the losses it inflicted following its pullout from the nuclear deal. As for sanctions removal, the MPs said it must be inclusive and effective and must not be on paper alone.

Iraqi politician: Riyadh’s recent execution of Shiites a terror act

Execution in Saudi Arabia

Nasr al-Shammari made the comment in reaction to the execution of more than 80 people in a single day, including Shia activists, by Al-Saud rulers.

In a tweet, he said the mass execution was among the most heinous crime committed by the regime so far. Those executed included dozens of Shite Saudi people as well as several nationals of other countries.

He said the Saudi regime accuses victims of conducting acts of terror in order to deceive the public.

He underlined the Al-Saud regime, with its ethnic tendencies and a track record full of crimes and black terrorism, poses a major threat not only to the region but to most countries around the world.

He called on all freedom-seekers across the globe to counter the Saudi regime’s ‘inhumane, ignominious and criminal behavior’, adding such a criminal record will leave the Al-Saud regime’s foundation on shaky ground and lead to its eternal annihilation as its acts of oppression will backfire.

Ex-diplomat: Iran’s economy should not be held up by JCPOA

Ramin Mehmanparast made the comment while highlighting that the administration of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisis has adopted a balanced foreign policy.

“If we feel the other side does not intend to make good on its commitments or wants to add new conditions or to make excessive demands by looking down on us, then we can continue our course regardless of the JCPOA issue,” he said.

In order to get rid of the problems, he explained, the root causes of the existing pressure should be detected and reviewed.

“If the government wants to neutralize sanctions, it should be able to follow an economic path well regardless of the JCPOA,” said the former spokesman referring to the Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

“First, the government should cut down heavy state expenses, and, through a well-planned policy, downsize the government and reinforce the private sector,” he said.

“In order to strengthen the private sector, attention should be paid to both production and exports,” the veteran diplomat noted.

“So, in order to wean the country and its economy off their dependence on the JCPOA, we should have a mechanism to make up for the budget deficit by downsizing the government and reducing state costs,” he explained.

The IRGC said in a statement on Sunday that the attacks were a response to the “recent crimes of the fake Zionist regime and the previous announcements that crimes and acts of villainy by the regime will not go unanswered”.

“We once more warn the criminal regime that repetition of acts of villainy will face a strong, severe and destructive response,” the IRGC said.

The force added that Iran’s security is a “redline of the armed forces”, stressing that no one will be allowed to threaten or engage in an act of aggression against the country.

Earlier, reports said missiles hit two Mossad bases in Iraq’s northern Kurdistan region.
