Former IRGC chief: Iran’s blows to Israel have increased multi-fold

Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Jafari

Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Jafari said the Zionists themselves known what blows they have suffered from the side of Iran. Jafari added that these attacks have happened in different countries across the region and even in occupied Palestine itself. He also said Iran cannot reveal the nature of these attacks because of their confidentiality and because it needs to keep others in the dark about them.

Jafari also said Iran cannot give the details of the blows it dealt to the Zionists which happened well before the recent martyrdom of the IRGC Colonel Sayyad Khodaeei in Tehran.

The former commander of the IRGC maintained that the enemies try to claim credit for anything that happens in Iran, but they know too well that they are not behind the incidents.

Grossi: Iran nuclear talks at ‘impasse’

Rafael Grossi told Al-Arabiya news network that “nuclear violations” push Iran further away from the process of talks and such “tensions” are in line with the interests of no one.

Grossi said the IAEA is trying to find explanations about certain “facts” in Iran, in a reference to the so-called undeclared nuclear sites, which Iran says are designated by the agency based on fabricated information it got from Israel.

He said the agency is after answers to its technical questions, claiming that Iran has failed to offer explanations on the traces of uranium found at the three sites.

Grossi also criticized Iran for turning off surveillance cameras of the IAEA in reaction to the recent resolution by the agency’s Board of Governors, which Tehran says was a politicized move based on the biased report by the director general.

“The cameras Iran has removed from its nuclear sites have been an important means of supervision by the IAEA and this country, with its actions, weakens the verification activities of the IAEA,” he said.

Iran says all cameras installed at its sites within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Safeguards Agreement remain in place. It says the removed cameras were the ones Iran had allowed as a goodwill gesture.

The country says the recent “partial” and “politicized” reports by the director general that led to the IAEA’s anti-Iran resolution persuaded Tehran to end its voluntary measures.

The director general also talked about Iran’s uranium enrichment at the 60-percent purity level, saying this is very close to what the western governments call weapons-grade enrichment.

He insisted that Iran should offer explanations on the “outstanding” issues, claiming that nothing bans the IAEA’s director general from obtaining information from other countries, in a reference to the information provided to the agency by Israel, a stance disputed by Iran.

Official: Iran has 135,000 cancer patients

Ali Ghanbari Motlagh said the most common cancer among women in Iran is breast cancer.
Ghanbari Motlagh added that the world is witnessing an upward trend in cancer cases but the rate of the disease in Iran is higher than the global average in this regard.

He added that the majority of people in Iran are young and the older they get, the higher the number of cancer cases goes.

Ghanbari Motlagh noted that apart from breast cancer, colon, stomach and thyroid cancers are also common among people in Iran.

He also spoke about the mortality rate of cancer patients in Iran, saying medical officials in the country use an index known as the 5-year survival for cancer patients who have received or are receiving treatment.

He said the 5-year survival index for breast cancer patients is nearly 68 percent while for those suffering from colon cancer is 41 percent.

Ghanbari Motlagh maintained that the index can be improved provided that cancer is diagnosed in a timely manner.

He said this will make the disease more treatable.

The agreement was made during a meeting between officials from the Iranian Trade ministry including Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Seyyed Reza Fatemi-Amin and a high-ranking delegation from Turkmenistan headed by Batyr Atdaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Trade, Textile Industry, and Entrepreneurship.

“We have already established Trade centers in 16 countries. This is an appropriate way to expand joint economic ties,” said Fatemi-Amin, emphasizing that an operational plan is required to boost bilateral Trade between Iran and Turkmenistan.

Meanwhile, Atdaev called for the reopening of joint Trade exhibitions as well as border markets.

“Trade exhibitions were used to be held in Iran which were canceled for some reasons. We request that such exhibitions are organized again. We also propose that both countries sign a deal to boost bilateral Trade. We have also filed proposals regarding joint border markets,” Atdaev stated.

Iran and Turkmenistan share a 1,148 km border. The Turkmen capital Ashgabat is just 15 miles north of the border which is nearly 50 miles away from Mashhad, Iran’s second-largest city.

Earlier, Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi announced that the Iran- Turkmenistan Trade volume witnessed an 84 percent year-on-year growth in 2021.

The Iranian minister has already voiced Tehran’s readiness to establish a working group with Turkmenistan to boost smart transportation aimed at boosting bilateral Trade.

According to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international Trade, Iran’s exports to Turkmenistan were $399.8 million in 2018.

In a meeting with Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedow in Tehran on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said “the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s government is to expand relations with neighbors, and that is the completely right policy.”

Iran says plans test-launches of satellite carrier for research purposes

Iran Zoljanah satellite carrier

“Three launches of the Zoljanah satellite carrier were planned for research; one has so far been conducted and two others will be carried out later,” said Ahmad Hosseini, spokesman of the Space Division of the Iranian Defense Ministry, on Wednesday.

The performance of the three-stage carrier, which uses compound fuel, can be evaluated in each launch, he said.

The satellite carrier, the official added, weighs 52 tons and is 25.5 meters in length. It can carry loads of up to 220 kilograms at an orbit of 500 kilometers above the surface.

Last week, the Iranian Space Agency said work has been underway to prepare seven more satellites for launch into the orbit.

In March, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force launched its second homegrown satellite, dubbed Nour-2, into a low Earth orbit, on a range of military and civilian missions.

The first version of the satellite, called Nour 1, was successfully shot and placed into the orbit 425 kilometers above Earth’s surface in April 2020.

Raisi: Iran, Turkmenistan more than just neighbors, enjoy deep-rooted ties

Ebrahim Raisi & Serdar Berdymukhamedov

In a joint press conference with Turkmenistan’s visiting President Serdar Berdimuhamedow on Wednesday, President Raisi said the two countries are not mere neighbors, but they maintain deep-rooted cultural, civilizational, and fraternal relations.

Raisi said Iran and Turkmenistan have had a good level of ties over the past three decades, and that his visit to the central Asian country a few months ago helped activate some grounds for closer cooperation between the two nations.

The Iranian president called for further expansion of bilateral ties in various sectors, including economy, trade, energy and water resources, through signing more agreements and memoranda of understanding.

He said cooperation with Caspian Sea littoral states is among the priorities of Iran’s foreign policy, adding, “We welcome the summit that Turkmenistan will host next month and, undoubtedly, cooperation between the two countries will take on regional and international aspects.”

The problems of the region, Raisi said, should be resolved at the hands of its own countries, warning against the repercussions of foreign meddling in the region’s affairs.

For his part, Turkmenistan’s president said the two sides had agreed to boost the volume of their trade and their cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian fields.
He said he had officially invited President Raisi to join the summit of Caspian Sea heads of state.

Earlier Officials from Iran and Turkmenistan had signed 13 agreements on bilateral cooperation during the second day of a trip to Tehran by the Turkmen President.

The agreements, in the political, economic, trade, transportation, investment, new technologies, the environment, sports, energy, judicial, education and research, and tourism fields, were signed in the presence of the two presidents in the Iranian capital.
