Saeed Chalandari said flights are ongoing according to the schedule.

He added that five foreign airlines have canceled their flights, but it is likely that these flights will resume this evening.

According to Chalandari, Turkish, UAE and Qatari companies, which announced in the past days that they had canceled their flights to Iran due to security reasons, will resume their flights from October 31.

Analyst: Iran’s potential response to Israel strikes will have far-reaching implication

Iran Missile Attack Israel

Zeidabadi wrote in his Telegram channel on Saturday that the next move by Iran will be crucial in shaping the trajectory of the crisis.

Following extensive propaganda and heightened expectations over the past 25 days, Israel’s attack on several military targets in Iran has created a situation where the Islamic Republic must carefully consider its response, he wrote.

He pointed out that an immediate retaliation by Iran could escalate the conflict, leading to significant political and economic consequences, including inadvertently aiding Donald Trump’s election campaign in the United States.

On the other hand, any delay or lack of response could intensify pressure from hardline factions within Iran, accusing the government of surrendering and causing political unrest, he opined.

Zeidabadi suggests that “Israel’s calculated attack, which fell short of the highest expectations, was designed to create uncertainty within Iran’s decision-making bodies.”

The strategic ambiguity complicates Iran’s response, making the situation both simpler and more challenging, he said, adding Iran’s next move will ultimately determine which of the potential scenarios in this crisis will unfold.

The political pundit underlined that the stakes are high, and the outcome of this geopolitical chess game will have far-reaching implications for regional stability and international relations.

Israeli strike on Iran draws international condemnation

Israel Attack Iran

Iraq has strongly condemned Israel’s aggressive actions against Iran and expressed solidarity with the Islamic Republic.

The spokesperson for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry Bassem al-Awadi stated, “The oppressive Zionist regime continues its aggressive policies, expanding the scope of war and blatant acts of aggression without any obstacles.”

The United Arab Emirate, which has formal ties with Israel, also condemned the Israeli military attack and emphasized the importance of exercising the highest level of restraint to avoid further risks and the spread of conflict.

Switzerland also condemned ‘dangerous escalation’ of violence in West Asia, including Israel’s attack on Iran.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Lebanon, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Oman, Syria, and the San’a-based Yemeni government slammed the Israeli provocation against Iran, calling on the United Nations Security Council to end Israeli military tension in region.

Hamas and the Islamic Jihad resistance movements blasted Israeli attack on Iran, saying the aggression targets security of the region and its nations.

Iran’s Air Defense Command announced that Israel, in a provocative act, attacked military centers in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces, adding the country’s air defense system intercepted and countered the projectiles.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army announced in a statement that two of its staff were killed in Israel’s strikes.

Ten Iranian border guards killed in terror attack in Sistan and Baluchestan

Armed terrorists engaged in combat with Iranian law enforcement forces in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan, leading to the killings of several Iranian security personnel.

The fighting broke out on Saturday in Goharkooh base, where the terrorists ambushed two patrols of the security forces.

Following the terrorist incident, Iran’s Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni, ordered an investigation into the event.

Iran says entitled to defend itself following Israeli deadly attacks

The Iranian Foreign Ministry

The ministry condemned in strongest terms the Zionist regime’s aggressive move against several military sites in Iran as a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly the principle prohibiting the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries.

“As repeatedly emphasized by the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the inherent right of self-defense reflected in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, Iran considers itself entitled and obliged to defend against acts of external aggression,” it said in a statement.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran stresses the use of all material and spiritual capabilities of the Iranian nation to defend its vital security and interests, while also recognizing its responsibilities for regional peace and security. It emphasizes the individual and collective responsibility of all regional countries to safeguard regional peace and stability and expresses gratitude to all peace-loving countries in the region and beyond who have condemned Israel’s aggressive actions and expressed their disgust over the current critical situation,” it added.

The foreign ministry noted, “Undoubtedly, the continuation of occupation, illegal actions, and crimes by the Zionist regime in the region, particularly the genocide against the Palestinian people and aggression against Lebanon – perpetuated by comprehensive military and political support from the United States and certain other Western countries – remains the main cause of tension and insecurity in the region.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran reminds every member state of the United Nations, members of the ‘Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide,’ and the ‘1949 Geneva Conventions,’ of their urgent and collective responsibility to address gross violations of international law and the UN Charter,” it said.

“These violations, including genocide and international humanitarian rights, simultaneously constitute serious breaches of international peace and security. Iran underscores the urgent and immediate action required by the global community to halt the ongoing genocide, war, and aggression against Gaza and Lebanon and to contain the Zionist regime’s war-mongering activities,” the statement added.

The Israeli army targeted military centers in the Iranian provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam in the early hours of Saturday despite warnings from Iran that any adventurism by Israeli would face a harsh response.

Iran announced its air defense system intercepted and countered the attacks, with limited damage reported in some areas.

The extent of the incident is currently under investigation.

The statement reads, “The army of the Islamic Republic of Iran sacrificed two of its soldiers last night while confronting the projectiles of the criminal Zionist regime in order to defend the security of Iran and prevent harm to the Iranian nation and its interests.”

The Islamic Republic of Iran Army announced the names of its martyred personnel: Missile Operations Major Hamzeh Jahandideh and Missile Operations Sergeant First Class Mohammad Mehdi Shahrokhifar.

ICC replaces judge in Netanyahu arrest case on health grounds

ICC

Romanian magistrate Iulia Motoc asked to leave the three-judge panel on health grounds on Friday and was immediately replaced by Slovenian ICC judge Beti Hohler, the president of the ICC said.

The move is expected to further delay a decision in the case focused on the Gaza conflict as the new judge will need time to catch up on the filings.

In May prosecutors asked for arrest warrants for Netanyahu, his Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and three Hamas leaders, saying there were reasonable grounds that the men had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The court has no set deadlines, but has generally taken about three months to rule on requests for arrest warrants in previous cases.

The decision had already been held up by several rounds of legal filings from Israel challenging the jurisdiction of the court.

Flouting a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has continued a devastating offensive on the besieged enclave since an attack last year by Palestinian resistance group Hamas.

Nearly 43,000 people have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 100,000 others injured, according to local health authorities.

The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the territory’s entire population amid an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the blockaded territory.

US, UK urge end to Israel, Iran retaliatory attacks

Israel Attack Iran

Washington has urged Tehran to stop attacking Israel to break the cycle of violence after Israel’s airstrikes on Iranian military targets in retaliation for a missile barrage.

The US National Security Council spokesman, Sean Savett, said on Saturday: “We urge Iran to cease its attacks on Israel so that this cycle of fighting can end without further escalation.”

Stressing that the US did not participate in the operation, he added, “It is our aim to accelerate diplomacy and de-escalate tensions in the Middle East region.”

A senior administration official said President Joe Biden and his national security team had worked with the “Israelis over recent weeks to encourage Israel to conduct a response that was targeted and proportional with low risk of civilian harm”.

“And that appears to have been precisely what transpired this evening,” the official told reporters.

London has also announced that it was “monitoring this situation closely” after the Israeli strikes on Iran.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged Iran not to respond to the attack, saying the Middle East needs to “avoid further regional escalation”.

He said: “I am clear that Israel has the right to defend itself against Iranian aggression.”

“I’m equally clear that we need to avoid further regional escalation and urge all sides to show restraint. Iran should not respond,” he continued, adding, “We will continue to work with allies to deescalate the situation across the region.”

France has also taken note of Israel’s announcement of strikes against military targets in Iran.

“France urges the parties to refrain from any escalation and action likely to aggravate the context of extreme tension prevailing in the region,” the foreign ministry in Paris announced in a statement.

Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz has also warned Iran against any “escalation” after Israel struck Iranian military targets.

“My message to Iran is clear: massive escalating reactions must not continue. These must stop immediately. Only then can we open the possibility of a peaceful evolution in the Middle East,” he posted on X.

The Israel Defense Forces spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, confirmed early Saturday that the IDF conducted “precise strikes on military targets” in Iran on Friday night.

Iran’s air defense force has confirmed Israeli attacks targeting positions in Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam provinces, saying the offensives have caused limited damage.

“Despite the previous warnings of the officials of the Islamic Republic to the criminal and illegal Zionist regime to avoid any adventurous action, this fake regime attacked parts of military centers in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam this morning in a tension-causing action,” the air defense force announced in a statement on Saturday morning.

It further said that the country’s integrated air defense system successfully intercepted and countered the act of aggression.

The attacks caused limited damage in some locations and the dimensions of the incident are under investigation, the statement added.

Russia provided Yemen’s Houthis with satellite data to attack ships in Red Sea: Report

Yemen Houthi

Russian targeting data helped the Houthis expand their strikes, the sources told the WSJ. The data was reportedly handed over through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Such assistance shows how much Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to undermine the Western economic and political order, the WSJ wrote. According to experts, Moscow is trying to foment instability from the Middle East to Asia to cause problems for the US.

The WSJ reported in early October that infamous Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, who was released in a prisoner swap between Russia and the US in 2022, was suspected of preparing a small arms deal with Houthi fighters.

Iran, one of Russia’s key allies, was also brokering secret negotiations between Moscow and Yemen’s Houthis to transfer Yakhont supersonic anti-ship missiles, Reuters reported in late September, citing seven unnamed sources.

Since the onset of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, Houthis have been conducting numerous strikes against the occupied territories. It has also carried out dozens of attacks on ships with links to Israel in a show of solidarity with Palestinians amid Israel’s military onslaught against the besieged enclave.

Houthis have stressed that they will not stop their attacks until unrelenting Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.

Flights return to normal in Iran after brief suspension over Israeli raids

Jafar Yazarlou, the spokesman of the CAO, told state media that flights would resume from 9am local time (05:30 GMT), coming shortly after the Israeli military confirmed that its overnight attacks on Iran had concluded.

Neither Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran nor other airports were subjected to any attacks.
