Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has called on regional countries to adopt collective and constant measures to fight terrorists and put an end to the killing of Muslims.

“The [Middle East] region is at a very difficult juncture and all regional countries should weather this stage through planning and making efforts to restore peace and security to its nations,” President Rouhani said in a telephone conversation with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Friday.

He stressed the importance of battling terrorism and respecting the national sovereignty of countries.

“Any move against any country without coordination with that country’s government will increase instability,” the Iranian president pointed out.

The Qatari emir, for his part, urged vigilance to solve very serious problems in the region.

He said both Shia and Sunni Muslims are currently faced with the problem of terrorism.

Rouhani and Al Thani exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, particularly crimes by terrorist groups and the killing of innocent people, expressing hope the bloodshed would be stopped and ground would be prepared for the establishment of regional security.

Iran warns regional countries against spread of terrorism

Zarif and Mevlut Cavusoglu

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu warned against the spread of terrorism and extremism in the Middle East region.

“The countries in the region should act responsibly with regard to the current situation and do not contribute to the exacerbation of the situation in the region,” Zarif said during the telephone conversation.

The Turkish foreign minister, for his part, expounded on the issue of Turkey’s military operations in its neighboring crisis-hit countries (Iraq and Syria), affirming that Ankara is committed to respecting the sovereignty of regional states.

On Thursday, Turkey’s 550-seat parliament voted 298-98 in favor of the motion that would provide the legal grounds for Ankara to deploy forces to Iraq and Syria. The motion will last for one year.

Political analysts believe that the controversial decision by the lawmakers pave the way for Turkey to launch attacks against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) Takfiri terrorists, members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and even Syrian government forces.

The Turkish government, according to the motion, could also allow foreign forces to use the country’s soil for their operations.

Legislators from Turkey’s Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the People’s Democracy Party (HDP) were among those who voted against the mandate.

The parliament’s decision came days after the government stationed some 15 tanks that took position in the border town of Mursitpinar situated northwest of the Syrian border town of Ain al-Arab, known as Kobane to Kurds.

Since September 23, the United States and its allies have been conducting airstrikes against the ISIL inside Syria without authorization from Damascus or a United Nations mandate.

Top cleric blasts Cameron anti-Iran remarks

“He (Cameron) falsely accused [us of pursuing non-civilian objectives in] our nuclear program and accused us of supporting terrorism. He falsely accused us of maltreating our people,” Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami told worshippers at the weekly Friday Prayers in Tehran.

During his speech at the UN General Assembly last month, Cameron pointed the finger at Iran for backing terrorism, adding that Tehran and London had “severe disagreements” over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program and its human rights situation.

Ayatollah Khatami praised Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s address at the UN General Assembly, saying “irrational” remarks by the British premier should not overshadow Rouhani’s speech.

Khatami said the British government had a “black record” in the eyes of the Iranian nation, saying London is a major sponsor of the Israeli regime as well as terrorist groups like the ISIL and the MKO terror grouping.

He also called the so-called US anti-ISIL coalition as a “deceptive and hypocritical” coalition which pursues malicious objectives.

The cleric said the West created terrorist groups like ISIL as it did before to achieve certain anti-Islamic objectives.

The ISIL controls large swathes of Syria’s northern territory. The group sent its members into neighboring Iraq in June and seized large parts of land there.

The ISIL terrorists have threatened all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and Izadi Kurds, in Iraq and have been committing heinous crimes in the areas they have taken.

Iran Leader: Takfiris created to split Muslims

Eid al-Adha 2014- Arafah-Hajj
Eid al-Adha 2014- Arafah-Hajj

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a message to the Hajj pilgrims on Friday.

The full text of the message is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds and Allah’s Greetings to Mohammad (PBUH) and His Holy Progeny

A salutation and greeting arising from enthusiasm and reverence to you, the fortunate people who have accepted the call of Quran and have rushed to be the guests at the House of God. The first word of advice is to know the value of this great blessing and endeavor to get close to its goals by musing about personal and social and spiritual and international dimensions of this unique obligation and ask the Merciful and Powerful host to help you do this.

I, accompanying you both with my heart and my words, ask the forgiving and gracious God to complete His blessing on you and since He has bestowed upon you the success of taking this trip, [He may] also help you to fulfill the Hajj rituals in their entirety and then through his generous acceptance, see you off to your destinations with full hands and complete health.

In the good opportunity that has been provided by this rich and unparalleled ritual, apart from spiritual purification and rehabilitation, which is the most sublime and the most basic achievement of Hajj, due attention to various issues of the Islamic world as well as a comprehensive and broad-based approach to the most important and highest-priority issues related to the Islamic Ummah, should top the list of duties and rites of Hajj pilgrims.

The issue of unity among Muslims and cutting the knots that have created distance among various parts of the Islamic Ummah is among these important issues, which are of high priority today.

Hajj is the manifestation of unity and integrity and the bedrock of brotherhood and cooperation. In Hajj, everybody should learn a lesson about focusing on commonalities and doing away with differences. Sowing discord to meet their ominous ends has been high on the agenda of the filthy hands of colonialistic policies since a long time ago.

However, now that in the light of the Islamic Awakening, Muslim nations have correctly found out about the animosity of the Arrogant and Zionist front and have taken stances against it, policies that aim to divide Muslims are being pursued with more fervor.

The deceitful enemy is bent on fanning the flame of civil wars among Muslims in order to deviate motivations for resistance and struggle among them and create a safe margin for the Zionist regime and other agents of Arrogance that are real enemies. Launching Takfiri terrorist groups and the likes of them in countries located in West Asia region is a consequence of this treacherous policy.

This is a warning for all of us to put the issue of unity among Muslims on top of our national and international duties.

Another important topic is the issue of Palestine. With the lapse of 65 years from the outset of the usurping Zionist regime and through ups and down of this important and sensitive issue, and especially as a result of bloody developments of the past recent years, two realities have been revealed to all people. Firstly, the Zionist regime and its criminal backers know no boundary and limit for cruelty and brutality and trampling upon all human and ethical norms.

They consider themselves authorized to commit any crime, genocide, destruction, massacre of children and women and defenseless people, and any other act of aggression and oppression that they can do, and they are also proud of it. Woeful scenes of the recent 50-day war on Gaza were the latest example of such historical crimes, which have been of course repeated frequently during the past half a century.

The second fact is that all these brutalities and catastrophes have not been able to help the leaders and supporters of this Zionist regime to achieve their goal. To the contrary of the foolish aspiration of strength and power, which evil politicians wished for the Zionist regime in their minds, day by day, this regime is getting closer to collapse and annihilation.

The 50-day resistance of the besieged and defenseless Gaza against all the power that the Zionist regime had brought to the scene, and finally, the failure and retreat of that regime and its submission to conditions set by the Resistance, were clear manifestations of this weakness and inability and impotence.

This means that: the Palestinian nation should be more hopeful than ever; the fighters of [Islamic] Jihad and Hamas should reinvigorate their endeavor, determination and resolve; the West Bank should continue on its regular proud path with more strength and vigor; Muslim nations should require their governments to lend real and serious support to Palestine; and Muslim governments should take this path with honesty.

The third important and high-priority issue, is the smart approach that should be taken by sympathetic activists in the Muslim world to the discrepancy between pure Mohammedan Islam and the American Islam, and while avoiding mistaking and mixing this two, prevent others from doing that. Our late great Imam was the first person to try to differentiate between these two categories and entered [that difference] into the political lexicon of the Muslim world. The purified Islam is the Islam of serenity and spirituality, the Islam of piety and democracy, and the Islam that is tough on infidels but lenient on the faithful.

The American Islam is the result of putting the costume of Islam on subservience to foreigners and enemies of the Islamic Ummah. An Islam that fans the flames of division among Muslims; instead on trusting the Divine Promise, puts its trust in the enemies of God; instead of fighting Zionism and Arrogance, fights its Muslim brethren; [and] becomes united with the Arrogant America against its own nation or other nations, is not [true] Islam. It is rather a dangerous and pernicious hypocrisy against which every true Muslim should fight.

An approach combined with insight and deep thinking will clearly reveal these important facts and issues in the reality of the Islamic world for any person who seeks truth; and also determines the duty and obligation of the day without any ambiguity.

Hajj and its rituals and rites provide a golden opportunity to acquire such insight and I hope you, the fortunate Hajj pilgrims, would be able to take full advantage of this divine blessing.

I leave all of you under protection of Almighty God and ask the Almighty to accept your endeavor.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

New video shows ISIL beheading British Henning

allen-henning

“I am Allen Henning. Because of our parliament’s decision to attack the Islamic State, I, as a member of the British public, will now pay the price for that decision,” says Henning before being killed during the video released on Friday.

Henning, an English taxi driver, was a member of a group of volunteers that traveled to Syria in December 2013 to distribute food and water to people affected by the country’s war.

According to his coworkers, he was abducted the day after Christmas by masked gunmen.

In a reference to British Prime Minister David Cameron, the black-clad executioner says, “The blood of David Haines was on your hands Cameron, Allen Henning will also be slaughtered, but his blood is on the hands of the British parliament.”

A person believed to be US aid worker Peter Kassig is shown at the end of the video and his life is threatened.

This is the fourth such video released by the Takfiri terrorists, the other three showing the beheadings of two US journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff and British aid worker David Haines.

Following the release of the video, Cameron condemned the killing.

“The brutal murder of Alan Henning by ISIS shows just how barbaric and repulsive these terrorists are,” he said, using another abbreviation for the ISIL Takfiris.

“We will do all we can to hunt down these murderers and bring them to justice,” Cameron added.

The US White House also issued a statement, saying, “The United States strongly condemns the brutal murder of United Kingdom citizen Alan Henning by the terrorist group ISIL.”

Meanwhile, Press TV conducted an interview with Hamid Golpira, a journalist and political analyst from Tehran, on the objectives of the Takfiris who are executing their captives one by one.

“Some say the people controlling them are trying to create a bad image of Islam and also to create what we call managed chaos in the region. So, their stated objectives are not their real objectives,” Golpira said.

“You can’t just execute prisoners; these people are not even combatants, they were not even soldiers… it’s not allowed in the Islamic law. In the Islamic law you can’t even uproot a tree in warfare for no reason because that’s considered part of something that benefits humanity. Even a tree. So killing a person who is not an active combatant is definitely forbidden in Islam,” Golpira stated.

The political analyst went on to say that the ISIL Takfiris “are the poster child for Islamophobia. They are helping it in every way by doing these things that are forbidden in Islam. But some of the general public, the less educated general public, in the Western world doesn’t really know the difference. So when propaganda is to do know the difference, you use them as s tool to say, ‘Oh, well look these Muslims are out of control. These Muslims are doing terrible war crimes.’ And then they try to make it seem like it is actually part of Islam; amongst a certain set of people in the Western world and other places who are not informed about the details of Islam, they are successful.”

“So in that matter the ISIL doing war crimes, doing crimes against humanity, conducting all these acts… is just handing ammunition to people who want to make Islamophobic propaganda,” Golpira said in conclusion.

The Takfiri terrorists currently control parts of eastern Syria and Iraq’s northern and western regions. They have threatened all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Izadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

IFP declines to release the graphic images of the purported beheading.

Iran volleyball players win 2014 Asian Games gold

Iran-Japan-Volleyball_AsiaGames-2014-13

On Friday, Iranians ended their campaign with a well-earned win over the Japanese outfit and overpowered their opponents 3-1 (28-26, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-19) at the Songnim Gymnasium.

The Japanese side opened the game in a convincing fashion, taking an early lead. Iranian sportsmen then established themselves and eventually finished the set at 28-26.

The Japanese volleyball players took the game to the wire in the second set, and got the chance to close the gap. They took advantage of the Iranians’ mistakes, had proper coordination and team unity, and managed to steal a 25-23 victory.

The Iranian volleyball players regained the lead in the third set, and continued to exert a spell of pressure on their rivals. They won the set 25-19.

The outcome of the first and third sets inspired the Iranian squad to play with more vigor in the last set. The Iranians managed to exhibit an almost spectacular performance, and finished the final set at 25-19.

In the other match of the day, South Korea swept China 3-1 to claim the bronze medal.

The 2014 Asian Games began in South Korea’s northwestern city of Incheon on September 19, and will wrap up on October 4.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games. The sports event is the world’s second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the tournament with 276 athletes in 22 sports.

Foreign Ministry praised Iranian filmmakers for their support for nuclear talks

Iran Summons Swiss Envoy over US Accusations
Iran foreign ministry

On October 2, the Iranian Student News Agency quoted a statement by Public Relations Office of the Foreign Ministry as saying: “In conditions that numerous and extensive measures are constantly taken by hard-line and radical circles dependent on or close to the Zionist regime to ruin the atmosphere of nuclear talks and to hype up the failure of the ongoing negotiations, a move by the Iranian artists which has been recognized worldwide to reflect the intention of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the negotiations is a valuable and influential step.

“Regardless of domestic political matters, what critics say and the disagreements that remain, the campaign was launched in the framework of a general diplomatic move to make known the intention of Iran in the talks and obtain clear outcomes in line with national interests. It is also intended to enlighten the public opinion.

“Since the resumption of a new round of talks, the Zionist regime and circles across the world sharing its views have made multifaceted destructive attempts to poison the atmosphere in different fields and to disrupt, stop and foil the negotiations between Iran and P5+1. In fact, they are stepping up the efforts by the day.

“In such conditions, the participatory step and wholehearted contribution of our country’s filmmakers to support the nuclear talks and to secure results in line with the country’s national interests and objectives is a noticeable bid, especially following the recent anti-Iran comments by the Israeli prime minister at the UN General Assembly.

“The campaign covers a broad spectrum of different strata abroad, particularly in the realms of cinema, art and media. Such a move along with constant media activity and efforts by athletes and contribution by cultural and scientific figures, NGOs and many ordinary Iranians will definitely help foster a positive atmosphere in favor of our country.

“The Foreign Ministry extends its gratitude to all those who have expressed interest, and lent support and stood ready to help us promote the name and position of the Islamic Republic of Iran, back the activities of the diplomatic apparatus, the nuclear talks process and the conclusion of a deal in keeping with the strong stance of senior officials of the establishment and clear demands of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the talks.”

Watching videos of terrorist crimes leaves destructive impact on society

Terrorist movies

Header: Alef [The first letter of the Persian alphabet] is a well-known news website run by Dr. Ahmad Tavakkoli, an influential Iranian politician. He has studied economics and received a Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He is a [Tehran] MP and has been the director of “The Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly” for years.

The world, the Middle East included, is witnessing many [unspeakable] crimes committed against humanity these days, one day in Libya and Ukraine, and the other in Iraq and Syria. Killing people seems to have become a recreation [for some]. Killers and terrorists hold up their head and proudly film their crimes and release their masterfully-edited videos via advanced communications tools.

It is almost a year since the brutal ISIL militants eclipsed their predecessors, namely al-Qaeda and their fellow Takfiri groups, and first released [online] images of their crimes. There are few Iranians who have not watched these horrible

clips. Most of them have downloaded these horrific images on their cell phones. Unaware of its ramifications, media outlets do release scenes of such horrendous crimes, too.

At issue here are the mental and social aspects of releasing these videos. It is good to know that any re-sending and re-releasing of such videos would help the terrorists with their goals.

The release of these graphic images which depict the crimes committed by the ISIL terrorist group, for instance their execution and decapitation of people, has made societies more likely to take away the wrong lesson from these acts of violence. It could result in children imitating these [unthinkable] scenes. Images of children who are copying the way ISIL treats its prisoners have already been splashed across social networking sites.

The more striking – let’s say more regrettable – point is that some keywords such as “ISIL”, “ISIL crimes”, “beheading”, etc. have played into the hands of certain websites, especially downloading sites, which aim to pull in more visitors and raise their [global] rankings. In other words, a destructive and dreadful phenomenon has turned into a tool for some media to take in more and more customers, mostly children and teenagers.

Alef News Website (www.alef.ir) on October 1st posed the following question to two experts: How does watching these videos affect [Iranian] society? The following are the responses the two experts produced:

Dr. Vahid Shalchi, a sociologist and member of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Allameh Tabatabai University, says: “We need to distinguish between different audiences. As for children, teenagers and even young adults, the spread of this phenomenon – watching videos posted on the web – would be alarmingly worrisome. The Middle East region is witnessing countless violent acts these days thanks to outside interferences and internal differences.

“The fact that watching such images is likely to present itself in the form of individual deviation should be cause for overriding concern. It could lead to many negative consequences for children and teenagers, ranging from psychological repercussions to large-scale violence. Countries all over the world have established [rigorous] standards to bar children and teenagers from watching these violence-riddled scenes.

“Unfortunately, such standards are conspicuous by their absence in Iran; and to add insult to injury, the development of technology has made it all the more difficult to keep a close eye on these [harmful] images. As a result, any product would be available to people in different age groups and this incurs substantial losses. For those people frequently watching such scenes, violence and crime become a normal sight, so when an individual gets engaged in minor or petty disputes, s/he would try to repeat the scene s/he has already seen many times.”

Dr. Abhari, a sociologist and behavioral psychologist, says: “When murder is introduced as a pastime and weapons as a plaything in society, and the extreme scenes of murder and rape in video clips together with violent acts in satellite TV movies become appealing to the youth, from a psychological point of view, people find it as interesting as a hobby or a way to while minutes away to be unmindful of death and downplay tragic, bloody scenes.

“Almost 80 percent of those who trade and watch these films are young people between 13 and 25 years of age. In the past when such online pictures were nonexistent, teenagers and young adults could not stand watching the sight of an animal being slaughtered, but today they simply watch [shocking] scenes of human beheading with their emotions, thoughts and soul remaining unaffected. This ineffectiveness is just on the outside of course.

“The profound impact of these [chilling] scenes stays in the back of people’s minds, something which would leave a deep impact on them in the form of nightmares, stress and depression down the road. Even if these scenes do not make people erupt, they would result in indifference on the part of their viewers making them easily watch and repeat the [unpleasant] scenes.

“These films which contain extremely horrible scenes change hands in society. In other countries when they want to air such scenes in a TV news bulletin, a warning [saying: ‘viewer discretion is advised’] notifies the audience of the graphic content of the movie or news story telling them the children may find the following images shocking. But in our country no control is imposed on such content and this is to blame for a growing rate of violence, physical aggression and murder in Iranian society.”

Envoy describes Iran as Germany’s major trade partner

Iran-Germany

German Ambassador to Tehran Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg has underlined that his country deems cooperation with Iran, especially in economic and trade areas, as very significant.
“Iran is an important partner for Germany and it can play a crucial role in the region in future and also play a more important role in different international issues, especially in the Middle East,” the German envoy said, addressing a ceremony on the occasion of Germany’s National Day at Ungern-Sternberg’s residence in Tehran on Tuesday.
Ungern-Sternberg pointed to the ample potential existing in political, economic and cultural fields, and said, “The Tehran-Berlin relations have been expanded since last year and we hope these relations will be consolidated in the future.”
The German ambassador described Iran as an influential regional power, and said, “Iran can play a greater role in international issues, especially in regional developments.”
Meantime, he pointed to the ongoing Iran-P5+1 negotiations, and said, “As the German foreign minister said after his meetings with Iranian president and foreign minister we have never been so close to achieving a final agreement over past 10 years.”
Iran and Germany have tried to expand their bilateral relations in recent years through reciprocal visits by the two countries’ officials.
In July, Head of the Trade Development Organization of Iran Valiollah Afkhami Rad said implementation of the Geneva nuclear deal sealed by Iran and the sextet of the world powers late in November has provided very good opportunity for the presence of international investors, especially the Europeans, in Iran.
“Now a few months after the arrival of the first European delegation in Tehran, the attractions of trade with Iran have placed the European states in a marathon competition for trade partnership with Tehran,” Afkhami Rad said.
Many European countries, including France, Germany and the Netherlands, are planning to enhance their economic relations with Iran, a business powerhouse in the Middle-East region, as sanctions imposed against Tehran are partially suspended.
