First part of S-300 missile system delivered to Iran

In response to a question about the delivery of the Russian advanced defense missile system S-300, Jaberi Ansari confirmed that the first part of the delivery was imported to Iran through the Caspian Sea, saying “We had already announced that despite several changes in the time of delivery, the deal is on the way to implementation, and today I should announce that the first part of these systems has arrived in Iran, and the delivery of other parts will continue.”

Iran Eyes Regional Cooperation on Nuclear Industry

In an interview with al-Alam News Network on Sunday, Kamalvandi said the neighboring countries need to immediately set aside the Western-inspired notion of a threat posed by Iran, and called for the expansion of cooperation even in the field of peaceful nuclear energy.

There exist abundant opportunities for cooperation with the neighbors, especially in the Persian Gulf region, he added.

Kamalvandi also pointed to a series of plans for closer regional cooperation on the nuclear industry, saying they will be unveiled in future.

More reciprocal visits between Iran and the regional countries will set the ground for cooperation in various nuclear fields, such as medicine and agriculture, he explained.

The spokesman further noted that Iran’s centrifuge machines can help development of the region’s oil and gas industries at a reasonable price.

Global enthusiasm for nuclear cooperation with Iran has grown after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a lasting nuclear agreement between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

The deal has enabled Iran to enter the international nuclear trade, leaving it with the option to work with many nuclear countries.

France, Spain, South Korea and many other countries have expressed willingness to work with Iran in the nuclear industry.

Italian Premier due in Iran Tuesday

He will likely visit the historic city of Isfahan on Wednesday, and will join a session to be attended by economic parties from the two countries.

So far, 750 Italian businesspeople have visited Iran, he said, adding that the two sides have signed initial agreements.

Italian insurance company Sace has allocated up to 5bn euros for transactions with Iran, said the Head of the Iran-Italy Chamber of Commerce Ahmad Pour-Fallah.

He also said that Iran has held good talks with the Italian company Eni, as well as Fiat.

He said that the volume of bilateral exchange between the two countries would hit $6bn within the next two years, and Italy would become Iran’s number one European trade partner.

Envoy: Iran, Kazakhstan to Finalize 35 Cooperation Deals

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, the Iranian envoy said Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev will visit Tehran on Monday to finalize the cooperation agreements to this end.

He said the two-day visit will take place at the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani, during which cooperation agreements will be signed in agriculture, medicine, technical engineering and services, mining, shipping, transport, tourism, health and treatment, banking and finance.

“The two sides will discuss the implementation of agreements reached during President Rouhani’s state visit to Kazakhstan capital, Astana, in September 2014,” he added.

During President Rouhani visit to Kazakhstan, an agreement worth $500 million was inked between the two neighbors.

As per the agreement, the two sides are obliged to expand relations in geology, metallurgy, agriculture, transportation, logistics, tourism and manufacturing a building materials factory.

Senior MP Criticizes Western Silence towards Killing of Yemeni Civilians

He made the remarks in a meeting with the Chairman of Finland’s Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Antti Kaikkonen.

“Saudi Arabia is committing big crimes against the innocent people of Yemen on a daily basis, and those in the West who pretend to advocate for human rights are silent about these developments,” the lawmaker added.

He criticized Western double standards towards human rights, and called for halt to the killing of innocent people in Yemen.

Jalali referred to the friendly relations of Iran and Finland, adding that the ground is ready for boosting the two countries’ relations in the post-nuclear deal era.

Terrorism will not be limited to the Middle East, the MP added. He called for cutting off financial and arms support for terrorists.

Kaikkonen, for his part, called for exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries, adding that the development of cultural ties between Iran and Finland can help the promotion of the political and economic relations.

Iran Travel Photo Award 2016 calls for entries

Alongside the main objective of the award which is a concern with tourism, the managing team is also very much concerned with the matter of ‘art’ in Iran Travel Photo Award. The award is searching for submissions which present a true, real, and up-to-date, far from politics, pictures of Iran which are in accordance with the reality of the country.

Participation in the award is open to all Iranian and non-Iranian photographers. Each photo must be accompanied by an explanation about the photo, and preferably be submitted in English. This description may include information such as the location of the picture, a description of the behavior of objects or clues to how life is in Iran today. Submissions with a 300-character explanation in English will have more points for the ‘judging’.

Interested photographers can submit their photos – a maximum 5 pieces – via email only at [email protected].

The deadline for submission is June 19, 2016. The finalists will be announced on July 5, 2016.

World’s largest neurosurgical hospital to be launched in Tehran

Deputy of Resources and Management Development of the Vice Presidency for Science Affairs Alireza Daliri told reporters on Sunday that the largest hospital owned by distinguished Iranian neurosurgeon and medical scientist Professor Majid Samii, is physically prepared, however, the equipment is not yet installed.

Stressing that the hospital will be the world’s largest neurological hospital, Daliri said the hospital is three times bigger than International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover of Germany, which is considered now as the largest hospital in the world for neuroscience purposes.

He added the world’s top neurologists demand to have surgery at the German hospital.

“Some of Iran’s active neurologists take training courses in Germany using Presidential Scholarship by the Department of Science and Technology, to work in the world’s largest neurosurgical hospital in Iran in the near future,” he added.

Stating that the launch of the hospital will provide the grounds for medical tourism, Daliri said the place can attract patients at regional and international levels.
