“Rumi Integral Part of Iran’s Rich History, Culture, Literature”

In a Sunday message to commemorate the national Rumi day, the Iranian foreign ministry said “Rumi’s divine language is a universal language associated with divine nature and breathes life into it.”

“Maybe this very universality of Rumi’s language has prompted some to associate their names with Rumi’s and leave no stone unturned to take possession of this master of mystic poetry and make imaginary and illusory and untrue statements to create the impression that Rumi had deviated from the Persian literature and culture,” the message said, alluding to efforts by Turkish officials to call Rumi a Turkish poet.

“The reality is that Rumi has written poems only in Persian,” the Iranian foreign ministry said.

“In our estimation, Rumi is an integral part of the lofty history, culture and literature of Iran and the whole cultural world, which has long been associated with the Iranians’ behaviour and language.”

“Still, we believe that Rumi’s poetry can link nations and bring about further convergence among people who are attached to this renowned Iranian poet,” it added.

It also noted that “in a world devoid of mysticism, love and spirituality, understanding Rumi’s message can solve many of the problems of the human community.”

The message referred to Rumi as the “connecting point between poetry, mysticism and philosophy in the Persian literature.”

“He was a rare genius of history who learned mysticism with great master Shams, and created everlasting works of mysticism and the school of love in the Persian language, so much so that his magnum opus, Masnavi, was called The Quran in the Persian language,” it added.

“Today, September 30, is the day when this prominent Iranian poet is commemorated. On this occasion, we congratulate all intellectuals, culture-loving Iranians, all Persian-speaking people and all those who love the Persian language and those who regard Rumi’s poetry as an integral part of their identity,” it added.

The message came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in his address to the UN General Assembly earlier this week, referred to Rumi as a Turkish poet, which is a distortion of history, as the renowned Persian poet is just buried in Konya, the modern-day Turkey, and all his poems are in Persian.

Iran, EU on Verge of Oil Deal in Defiance of US Bans: Zarif

Zarif made the remarks in an interview with reporters in New York on Saturday. New York Times says the Iranian top diplomat sounded far more optimistic than he had in recent months that he could peel away America’s traditional allies to break Trump’s effort to cut off Iran’s revenues.

If the arrangement comes to fruition, it would constitute the most open break between US President Donald Trump and European allies that objected vociferously to his decision to pull out of the 2015 nuclear deal.

At the core of the agreement that Iran and Europe are trying to forge is a mechanism for paying for Iran’s oil in barter and local currencies, rather than in American dollars. The idea is to route around the United States and prevent it from blocking financial transfers — and perhaps from identifying those involved in the transactions.

“This is for us to sell our oil and get the proceeds,” Zarif said, noting that under the United Nations resolutions passed once the 2015 agreement was reached, countries have the legal right to trade with Iran.

Zarif further dismissed Trump’s escalating verbal attacks on Iran’s missile sales and its support of Hezbollah, Hamas and the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad. He laughed when asked whether the United States could bring down the current Iranian government with mounting financial pressure.

Nor did Zarif expect the United States to attack key Iranian facilities, he said.

“If the US believed it would have succeeded in such an attack, it would have done so already,” he said.

Asked about his recent conversations with Kerry, whom Trump and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have accused of undermining American foreign policy, Zarif said the messages were simple.

“What he has done is encourage us to stay in the deal,” he said. As for the threats by Trump to investigate Kerry, he said, “I didn’t realize you still had witch hunts going on in the United States” — a nod to one of Trump’s favourite phrases about the Russia investigation.

On the subject of claims by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Iran had hidden nuclear-related components in a warehouse in Tehran, Zarif said he believed that it was a cleaning facility for Persian rugs. But he would not commit to letting inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency visit.

In the past, it was not customary for “celebrities” to do any jobs other than what they were known for, let alone a job almost or completely unrelated to their main profession.

Whether under the pretext of economic activity or for the sake of personal interest, celebrities nowadays have second jobs in various economic fields.

The Shahrvand newspaper has, in an article, taken a look at the second jobs of prominent figures in the domains of sports and the silver screen.

Acting and being seen on the screen in cinemas or on TV is among the wishes that most of us have had during our lives. Nevertheless, it seems that acting cannot be regarded as a job any longer because many of those whose dream of becoming an actor or actress has come true have opted for a second job to meet ends meet.

Preparing Doushab; Old Tradition among Iran’s Date Farmers

To prepare Doushab, farmers first pour the dates into the water and boil them. Then, they put the product in special bags to remove the diluted syrup.

In the end, they pour the diluted syrup in trays and put them in the sun for a few days to get hard.

Protest Rally Held before Iran Parliament against FATF-Related Bill

The protesters, numbering over 200, said approving the bill would amount to betraying the values of the revolution and is against guidelines of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Protest Rally Held before Iran Parliament against FATF-Related BillSeveral conservative lawmakers, including Javad Karimi Qoddousi, were among the participants.

The bill was discussed in the parliament back in June, but lawmakers decided to shelve the bill for two months.

The bill is part of four sets of legislation proposed by the government of Hassan Rouhani to get the country out of the black list of the global anti-money laundering body, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Two other bills had been approved by the parliament, but rejected by the legislation watchdog, the Guardian Council. After the parliament refused to change the bills, they were referred to the Expediency Council, which is entrusted with acting as an arbiter between the two bodies.

The fourth bill, an amendment to the country’s law against financing terrorism, was approved by the parliament and the Guardian Council, and signed into law by President Hassan Rouhani last month.

Iran entered into talks with the G7-created FATF to join the body following the January 2016 implementation of the JCPOA, the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.

But Iran’s accession to FATF has slowed down in recent months, over concerns among conservative politicians that the move could endanger Iran’s national security interests.

The FATF has requested Iran to implement necessary reforms until late October.

Striking Lorry Drivers in Iran Demand Tyres, Higher Wages

Lorry drivers staged a days-long nationwide strike in Iran in late May 2018, in protest at low wages and a lack of insurance coverage.

Afterwards, the government promised to raise their wages and offer them insurance.

Good decisions were also made, including the allocation of foreign currency at an exchange rate of IRR 42,000 to the dollar for importing tyres, the reduction of tariffs on imported spare parts and tyres from 30% to 5% and the clearance of 70,000 to 100,000 tyres from the customs.

Accordingly, half of the lorry drivers’ demands were met, but many of their problems, including the provision of tyres, remained unsolved.

For the second time in the past several days, some lorry drivers stopped work in protest at their working conditions. They objected to high costs of maintenance and spare parts as well as high freeway tolls. Lorry drivers say they not only do not enjoy insurance for hard working conditions, but also have problems receiving the basic insurance and social services.

Striking Lorry Drivers in Iran Demand Tyres, Higher WagesOn the other hand, many profiteers have hoarded the equipment and parts needed by lorry drivers such as tyres, which delayed the settlement of lorry owners and drivers’ problems. Unfortunately, there is not much supervision over the activities of profiteers and hoarders, which further fuels lorry drivers’ problems. Iran has enough tyres, but hoarders have caused a severe shortage of the product on the market, resulting in losses for lorry drivers, businessmen and people.

Senior police authority Mohammad Sharafi has weighed in on the issue in an interview with Iran’s state TV.

“Truck owners (drivers) show good cooperation under the current sensitive situation in the country. Some people who do not have good intentions and who want to disrupt lorry drivers’ activities and keep lorries from moving will be seriously dealt with, and offenders will be punished,” said the police official.

Another official also pointed to the problems that drivers are facing.

“Lorry drivers were charged extra commission, which had led to their objection,” said the head of the drivers’ unions handling transportation on the country’s roads.

In this regard, more than 90 cargo transport companies which had committed violations have been closed and the necessary measures have been adopted. This comes as the main problems facing lorry drivers remain unsolved and are expected to be resolved more rapidly. For instance, a shortage and high prices of tyres have seen drivers being unable to afford tyres. Moreover, they cannot drive on roads with old, threadbare tyres. So, it means they want to work and it is not a matter of strikes or something, but driving on old tyres is dangerous and drivers cannot do that.

Striking Lorry Drivers in Iran Demand Tyres, Higher WagesDariush Baqer-Javan, the director general of the Road Maintenance and Transportation of Hormozgan Province, says some 4,000 tyres have been cleared from customs in recent weeks and are stored at cargo depots.

“As of Friday, the tyres needed for lorries will be distributed at the state price of IRR 21,000,000 among drivers who have loaded their lorries,” he said.

Mohammad-Reza Ganji, the head of the Iranian Tyre Union, said it has been agreed that a 5% tariff be imposed on imported tyres at the request of local tyre producers themselves in order to solve lorry drivers’ problems.

“A new production line for lorry and bus tyres will soon be inaugurated with a capacity of 25 thousand tons,” he said.

“So far, some $100 million as well as more than IRR 2 trillion has been appropriated for the factory to be launched, and it will become operational in early 2019 with the latest technology used for the production of bus and lorry tyres,” he noted.

How to Choose Best Gaming Chairs in 2018: A Detailed Guide

The choice of a gaming chair should be guided by the needs and preferences of an individual, although ergonomics, comfort and adjustability sit at the forefront of the particulars to locate a decent and suitable gaming chair. In choosing the best gaming chair, you must ask yourself how much value to place on health and comfort. This guide should lead you towards the prime gaming chair in 2018:

Design and type of the chair

Gaming chairs feature different designs, going from racing style to office style, rocker chair to pedestal design, with some chairs designed ergonomically and others not. When reaching out for a classic office style gaming chair, for example, you might want to be in the lookout for a high back swivel chair, which offers more support to the spinal column because of the high-back feature, while providing great adjustability from the swivel mechanism.

The rocker gaming chair has a design that seats directly on the floor and has no wheels. For this design, you must be keen on comfort, in the padding of the L shaped design. On the contrary, the pedestal gaming chair has a pedestal underneath, which can swivel around, but with restrictions as to matters adjustability to height.

Adjustability and flexibility

Different brands of gaming chairs provide different features as concerns adjustability and comfort. The most adjustable chair would ideally have a 180-degree recline angle, a 360-degree swivel mechanism, and five-wheeled casters. Further, the seat may come with a 4D adjustable armrests and a high backrest that also adjusts for height.

These variables differ for different gaming chairs, so you must determine a chair best fits your flexibility needs. For instance, since most office style gaming chairs are adjustable to height, you want to consider a chair that has high stability, mainly because the hydraulic system of cheap office style chairs can easily break. As per the design of the chair, the adjustability will vary.

Appearance and feel of the chair

As much as comfort and functionality if of the essence, it is necessary to consider the appearance and feel of a gaming chair. Different manufacturers have a distinguished finishing of their products, regarding material and colour combination, which explains the different materials used in making gaming chairs.

The fabrics and materials covering gaming chairs are useful in the effectiveness of the gaming chair as concerns breathability, ease of cleaning and maintenance, durability and contact to the skin. Mesh fabrics are great for optimising air circulation, while PU Leather is hassle-free as to matters cleaning. For longevity, real leather serves the purpose, while also remaining kind on the skin, although with lower breathability.

Additional features

A bonus is always good news, and in gaming chairs, additional features can elevate the gaming experience. Some gaming chairs, mostly those suited for console gaming, come with a variety of extra features, for example, audio systems, connectivity to a variety of systems and consoles, speaker systems.

For other types of gaming chairs, it counts to have additional features like retractable footrests, extra pillows for the headrest and lumbar support, foldability for ease in storage, massage features, among others. The primary goal is to chase a gaming chair that will offer you the most value in relevance to the gaming experience.

Durability and sturdiness of the gaming chair

A gaming chair is not an asset you plan on changing up every month or year. Your goal should be to acquire a gaming chair that can last you long enough. The framework of the gaming chair is the first thing to consider when checking out for sturdiness and longevity of a chair. Usually, aluminium and steel are the materials used to frame gaming chairs because they are hard to break and are not prone to corrosion and rust.

The quality of the fabric and the foam also count for durability, even though the main factor is the sturdiness of the entire framework. Check out the base of the chair to analyse the material of the casters and the wheels, which ultimately go a long way in determining the glide of the chair across a room.

Cost and value of the chair

Gaming chairs can prove to be pretty expensive, with some like the Herman Miller retailing at around $1400. Depending on the amount you can spend, consider gaming chairs in the different budget categories, that is, mid-range gaming chairs, budget gaming chairs, among others.

Ultimately, you must weigh out the value exchange for your money. Even though the more expensive gaming chairs offer the best value compared to others, there are gaming chairs that can provide similar value at a lower price, for example, the Merax High Back Gaming Chair.

Bottom line, there are no rules cast on a stone on which gaming chair you must choose. It all rolls down to your needs and preferences as a dedicated gamer.

Netanyahu’s UN Speech Can Boost Tourism in Iran’s Turquzabad!

In his Thursday address to the UN General Assembly, Netanyahu showed a photograph of the Iranian capital marked with a red arrow and pointed to what he said was a previously secret warehouse storing nuclear-related material.

His speech and the claims he made about a secret warehouse in a neighbourhood called Turquzabad sparked a wave of derisive comments on social media as the village’s name reminds all Iranians of the term they use to refer to “nowhereland” in Persian language.

Ahmad Shirzad, in an editorial in E’temad daily, has weighed in on the issue. What follows are excerpts of his article, which includes the idea of reviving the village’s tourism after Bibi’s claims:

Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech was so funny that even the Iranian diplomats have responded to him with laughter. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said some people may have pulled Netanyahu’s leg.

Netanyahu’s UN Speech Can Boost Tourism in Iran’s Turquzabad!Looking at the issue logically, if Netanyahu had evidence against the Islamic Republic of Iran, he would have launched allegations against Iran through international organisations and Israel’s powerful allies before explaining it to the general public at the UNGA. Tel Aviv would never rush to use a piece of evidence so publicly if it was in possession of such an effective and solid record….

It was only a few years ago that Israelis and Americans … managed to spy on an alleged laptop that they said contained evidence of Iran’s nuclear program.

The same alleged evidence had long existed as a pretext for leveling accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and it took many years for Tehran to challenge the allegations published through the files of this stolen laptop. Finally, Iran managed to dismiss the charges through long-term and complicated bureaucracies.

In the case of Turquzabad warehouse, it would have been used against the Islamic Republic for years if any evidence was available to Tel Aviv, or if it was possible … to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of violating its international obligations. Certainly, they would have put pressure on Iran at all international assemblies from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the United Nations Security Council for such a thing.

However, it seems that the evidence that Netanyahu has received cannot even implicitly levy charges on Iran for an illegal action.

Netanyahu’s UN Speech Can Boost Tourism in Iran’s Turquzabad! These days Netanyahu is like a fruit seller who wants to embellish his rotten fruits by wetting them and putting them under the fresh ones. If he could prove these claims, he might have used them many times against Iran.

It seems the UN General Assembly has turned into a stage for the Israeli prime minister to showcase his acting skills each year. Every year, he tries to use diagrams and paintings to entertain the world leaders. But this annual play has lost its value. It seems even the anti-Iran televisions and media, all of whose funds are provided to harm Iran, are not willing to take advantage of this year’s show to attract audiences and influence their viewers. Netanyahu’s spectacle this year will not be of any use for international organisations, nor will it be used for anti-Iran propaganda. The change in Iran’s status in the international community, and the nuclear agreement that was achieved with the support of international organisations, have led to a sharp drop in the impact of such statements on public opinion. A viewer with a particular political or intellectual orientation in a corner of the world may see such a show and believe in Netanyahu’s words, but winning people’s trust with such cheap and baseless theatrics is becoming less possible day by day.

Netanyahu’s UN Speech Can Boost Tourism in Iran’s Turquzabad!Netanyahu’s speech, however frustrating and cheap, eventually led to the restoration of the village of Turquzabad in the minds of Iranian people. At the very least, Iranian media can use this opportunity to revive the village’s tourism industry. Now, an opportunity has been created both in the media and for tourism agencies to not only make this village of Tehran known, but also turn it into a tourist destination as its name is heard at the United Nations General Assembly.

Two factors have simultaneously made Netanyahu’s speech at the General Assembly less influential than before. On the one hand, the signing of the nuclear deal has caused many excuses against Iran’s nuclear program to be rejected, since the Iranian nuclear facilities are now open to international inspectors. Today, according to high-ranking IAEA officials, “the world’s toughest and most powerful nuclear inspection program” is being executed in Iran. However, the second factor may perhaps be more helpful in restoring Iran’s dignity; and it is the foolishness of the person who tries to give anti-Iran performances in international assemblies. Netanyahu has turned into a clumsy actor whose performances are repetitive, but he still wants to run his shows at any cost.

Netanyahu’s UN Speech Can Boost Tourism in Iran’s Turquzabad!Today, Tel Aviv has turned into a spoiled child. It does whatever it wants. This child throws stone at the windows of neighbours; he rings the bells and runs away, but he does not face the music thanks to his older brother’s bullying. Netanyahu is the spoiled son, who, thanks to the political and media support he receives, is doing whatever he likes, and nobody dares to respond, as anyone who questions the remarks of Netanyahu and other Israeli official will be accused of anti-Semitism and racism.

Netanyahu did not just disrespect the Iranians; even the US authorities and the member states of the IAEA and the UN were targeted by Benjamin Netanyahu’s accusations. If one of these attacks on international organisations was carried out at a much lesser level by the Iranian authorities, they would have certainly come under fire by the international media for several months. Unfortunately, Netanyahu and his governments have got a green card in the current world of media outlets. By putting anti-Semitic charges on politicians, writers, journalists and critics, they simply say whatever they want and easily evade the consequences.
