Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami said on Thursday the enemies created a constant source of “danger and revenge” for themselves by assassinating senior Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.

“The killing of General Soleimani will be avenged,” he said.

“The martyrdom of this glorious commander breathed new revolutionary life into the body of Islamic territories and brought everlasting glory upon the Islamic Revolution, the Establishment, the Iranian nation and the IRGC,” said commander Salami.

He underlined the flag that late general Soleimani raised will never fall to the ground.

Commander Salami then described the “geography of the Islamic Revoluion” as an arena for “constant confrontation” with enemies of Islam.

“What all these confrontations had in common was that there was the Islamic Revolution led by Iran on the one side, and global arrogance led by the US on the other,” he added.

The top general said the passage of time has shown that the Islamic Revolution, thanks to the vigilance and prudence of its leaders … has always had the upper hand in these arenas,” he noted.

He then underscored the key reason behind the United States’ failures is a lack of wisdom and common sense in the system leading the country.

Speaking at a Thursday ceremony held via videoconferencing to inaugurate a major water project, President Hassan Rouhani said the project coming on line today is a great sign of triumph for the Iranian nation.

The Temple of Anahita is located in Kangavar, in the middle of Hamadan-Kermanshah road in western Iran, on the historical route of Ecbatana to Ctesiphon.

Based on historical records, this temple- the second stone building of Iran after Persepolis–  has been used as a fire temple to honour Anahita, the ancient Persian goddess of water, during Achaemenid, Parthian and Sassanid periods.
The ancient Iranians considered Anahita to be the guardian of water; the angel of abundance, beauty and fertility who had an elevated position.

Water and the goddess of water are focused in the building’s architecture. The corridors around the temple beautifully led the water to a square pool in the centre of the structure.

Tourism Minister Ali-Asghar Mounesan sat down with the managing directors of Iranian banks and their deputies for credit affairs in order to boost synergy between the ministry and banks of different countries.

“At the moment, people from different walks of life, including the youth, are active in the tourism domain,” said Mounesan.

“Fortunately, we have seen very good growth and profits in this industry over the past few years,” the top official added.

“Before the coronavirus outbreak, tourism was growing well in the country. In the ten months to December 2020, more than eight million tourists entered the country, and if it weren’t for coronavirus, the figure would have touched 10 million,” he said.

“This is while the number of our tourist facilities have increased in recent years as well, so much so that the number of ecotourism units has risen to 2,000, which not only creates jobs and generates income for a village, but also creates jobs in nearby villages. The move has been welcome by foreign tourists,” he added.

He underlined that the global tourism trend is growing, and the industry will see good growth in our country, too.

A senior ministry official said the teams were involved in a range of activities against the Islamic Republic.

“Using a variety of complicated intelligence methods, foreign intelligence agents were seeking to spy on [Iran’s] nuclear, political, economic, military and infrastructural projects for the CIA, Mossad and intelligence services of certain European countries associated with the recent espionage cases,” said the deputy intelligence minister for counter-espionage.

“They intended to commit acts of sabotage against infrastructure and projects, further intensify unfair sanctions, keep the Islamic Republic of Iran from gaining access to modern knowhow and technologies, and create challenges in relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran with like-minded countries,” he added.

“These efforts and cowardly acts were foiled thanks to vigilance and intelligence information of the ministry’s agents,” he said.

The deputy intelligence minister warned all deceived individuals and mercenaries as well as covert and over enemies of Iran, and added Iranian intelligence apparatus keeps a close watch on every movement and firmly counter any conspiracies of enemies.

Europe Should Not Fall in US Trap, Rouhani Tells Macron

In a telephone call with the President of France Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, President Rouhani said “based on Resolution 2231 of the United Nations Security Council, the arms embargo against Iran must be lifted as of October 18, and if the United States wants to do anything against it, it is a violation of the resolution.”

President Rouhani emphasised, “The preservation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and UN Security Council Resolution 2231 is a fundamental commitment for all countries that have remained in the JCPOA today,” he said.

“We expect that whether at the International Atomic Energy Agency or the Board of Governors and at the UN Security Council, there will be close consultation and cooperation between Iran and the three European countries, Russia and China to prevent the opponents of the JCPOA from achieving their goals.”

The President stated that the United States has no right to use the JCPOA mechanism, because it has withdrawn from the deal more than two years ago.

Rouhani also said that the US approach of imposing illegal and inhumane sanctions against Iran during the coronavirus pandemic is very ugly and in contradiction with international regulations and WHO resolutions.

He further stressed the need for European action to activate economic cooperation with Iran and cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.

Rouhani further pointed to the recent deadly blast in Beirut, and said, “It is very important that we all help the Lebanese judiciary to find the root causes of this incident.”

Referring to Iran’s aid delivery to Lebanon immediately after the incident, Rouhani said, “Lebanon needs more unity among political groups and we must all help create this unity. Lebanon today needs a strong government, and the Lebanese parliament and all parties must work together in this regard.”

He also welcomed the French president’s invitation for Iran to join the international action group to help resolve Lebanon’s problems.

Rouhani also pointed to the situation of coronavirus pandemic in countries around the world and the second wave of this disease, and emphasised the continued cooperation of countries to control the disease.

In turn, the French President said, “Our views on the extension of the arms embargo on Iran are quite different from those of the United States, and we have made this clear to them.”

Macron also noted, “We are taking steps to make the European financial system with Iran (INSTEX) more active.”

Referring to the situation in Lebanon after the horrific explosion in Beirut last week and his visit to Lebanon, the French president called on Iran to help resolve the Lebanese political crisis and invited Iran to join the international action group to resolve the Lebanon crisis.

As cases in some regions continue to rise exponentially, we are forced to ask a rather interesting question. Why are certain nations seeming to fare better than others in regards to containing this outbreak?
