Larijani: Certain Countries Seeking To Sabotage Nuclear Deal

Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said certain countries are trying to sabotage the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and six world countries, also known as the JCPOA.

He made the remarks while addressing the Sunday June 12 session of the Majlis [Parliament] after legislators listened to Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who briefed them on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and its outcomes.

He urged the Parliament, the government and other relevant bodies to vigilantly monitor all developments.

The speaker further hailed the efforts of the Iranian team in striking a nuclear deal after lengthy negotiations and said they had endeavoured to safeguard the rights of the Iranian nation.

However, he said, the Iranian Foreign Ministry had to remain vigilant towards excessive US demands as signs indicate that America, as well as some other countries, is seeking to pressure Iran again, this time through channels besides the nuclear issue.

Larijani also voiced Parliament’s support for Zarif’s policy, which is to enhance economic relations with the world.
