A local official says upwards of 60 hectares of the forests in the area are on fire. Efforts are afoot to contain the blaze, the cause of which is unknown.
Kabirkouh forests in western Iran burning in fire
A video has been posted online showing the heights of Kabirkouh Mountain ablaze toward the end of summer. Kabirkouh is in the city of Abdanan in Iran’s western province of Ilam .
