Saudi Mismanagement Has Killed 90,000 Pilgrims in 14 Years, Documents Reveal

The Beirut-based Arabic-language al-Akhbar newspaper said that it has 3,121 documents disclosing the precise number of the Hajj pilgrims killed while performing their Hajj rituals since 2002.

The documents contain detailed information, including the names, nationalities, age and date of death of the Hajj pilgrims, Fars reported.

According to the documents, 90,267 pilgrims have lost their lives during the past 14 years, as reported by IRNA.

“This means that Saudi Arabia has not only lied to the public opinion about the Mina tragic incident, but it is has been its constant policy throughout years,” several media analysts said.

On 24 September 2015, a stampede caused the deaths of at least 7,000 pilgrims who were suffocated or crushed during the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mina, Mecca, making it the deadliest Hajj disaster in history.

The deaths occurred as Saudi Arabia is facing increased scrutiny on this year’s Hajj to keep pilgrims safe.

Construction of 2nd Unit of Bushehr Nuclear Plant Kicks Off in Iran

bushehr-plant

A ceremony was held to commence the project, attended by Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi, and Sergei Kiriyenko, head of Russian state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom.

The second unit is expected to take 9 years to complete (October 2024). A third unit will also begin to be built 18 months later after that (April 2026).

A total of $10 billion has been allocated for the construction of the two units.

Once the whole three units come on stream together, 5 to 6 percent of Iran’s electricity will be generated by nuclear power plants.

The second and third units have been designed with stricter security standards, their life span has been increased from 40 to 60 years, and their efficiencies have been improved to above 90 percent.

Iran’s only nuclear power plant in Bushehr, which produces 1,000 megawatts of electricity, became officially operational and was connected to Iran’s national grid in September 2011.

The Russian-Iranian agreement on the civil use of nuclear energy, followed by a deal to construct Iran’s first nuclear power plant, dates from 1992.

In 2014, Iran and Russia agreed to building two new nuclear reactors on the Bushehr site.

In November 2014, Tehran and Moscow also struck a deal to build eight more nuclear power plants in Iran.

Iranians Hold Massive Rallies to Protest Saudi, Bahraini Crimes

demonstrations

The Iranian worshipers held major rallies across the country after Friday prayers to denounce the ongoing Saudi atrocities in the region.

demonstrationsThe demonstrators urged the so-called advocates of human rights to take practical measures to condemn the brutality of the Saudi and Bahraini regimes.

During the demonstrations, which were held a few days to the first anniversary of a deadly crush during last year’s Hajj rituals in Mina, near the holy city of Mecca, the Iranian protesters also condemned Saudi rulers for failing to fulfill their responsibilities vis-a-vie Muslims during the annual rituals.

The tragic Mina incident took place when two large masses of pilgrims converged at a crossroads during the symbolic ceremony of the stoning of Satan in Jamarat.

More than 2,400 people, including at least 460 Iranian pilgrims, lost their lives in a stampede in Saudi Arabia on September 24, 2015. Saudi Arabia claims that nearly 770 people were killed in the incident.

Iran has cancelled the participation of its pilgrims in this year’s Hajj rituals in September due to Saudi Arabia’s creation of obstacles in the way of Iranians seeking to perform the ritual.

The Iranian demonstrators also carried placards and chanted slogans to protest against the Al Khalifah’s crackdown on Bahraini religious leaders. They expressed their support for the oppressed people of Bahrain and the country’s leading Shia cleric, Sheikh Isa Qassim, who recently had his nationality revoked by the Manama regime.

On June 20, Bahraini authorities revoked the citizenship of Qassim less than a week after suspending the country’s main opposition bloc, the al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, and dissolving the Islamic Enlightenment Institution, founded by Sheikh Qassim, and the opposition al-Risala Islamic Association.

The Iranian demonstrators emphasized that they would strongly defend the high values of Islam and the Islamic Revolution.

At the end of the rallies, the protesters issued a statement in condemnation of the Al Saud regime’s brutal acts against the oppressed Muslim people of Yemen and Syria, and the Al Khalifah’s crackdown on religious figures.

Anti-Iran Terror Cell Received US Training: Report

kurdish-terrorist-group

Hussein Yazdanpanah, the commander of the so-called Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), which seeks to carve out an “independent Kurdish republic” inside Iran and has staged many deadly terror attacks inside the Islamic Republic, made the remarks while speaking to the Associated Press, which reported them on Thursday.

“They helped and trained us within the framework of the fight against Daesh,” he claimed, referring to the Takfiri terrorist group that has been ravaging Iraq and Syria since 2014.

He said, however, that the alleged fight against Daesh “was never an alternative to their struggle” against Iran. He said his group, which had launched six attacks inside Iran this year alone, would continue striking the Islamic Republic.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces have, time and again, clashed with separatist Kurdish militants who had crossed over into the country’s west from neighboring Iraq.

Italian Army Capt. Giulio Macari, a spokesman for the US-led coalition that has purportedly been fighting Daesh in Iraq and Syria since 2014, meanwhile, alleged that the coalition did not choose the groups that it was training. Yazdanpanah said, though, that the trainers “no doubt” knew who the members of his group were.

He said the PAK militants had had three rounds of training by American advisers between March and September 2015 at the front-line where they were deployed in the central Iraqi Kirkuk Province. The group’s militants went through further rounds of training later alongside other Iraqi Kurdish fighters, he said.

The training included “infantry tactics, weapons handling, and bomb disposal,” AP reported.

Arab League Must Stop Saudi Support for Terrorists: Iran

Bahram Qassemi

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi on Friday expressed astonishment at the “biased and unjust” statement issued at the end of an extraordinary consultative meeting held by the council of Arab League foreign ministers in Cairo on Thursday.

He added that “one-sided and bigoted” support of the Arab League leaders and its foreign ministerial council for some members of the body over recent years has failed to help settle crises and misunderstandings among regional countries and the league’s members.

The Iranian spokesperson emphasized that such biased approaches have rather caused more instability, insecurity and chaos across the region, and led to Saudi Arabia’s “more blatant and shameful” killing of innocent people in some Arab countries.

He said the Islamic Republic advises the Arab ministerial council to think wisely and understand the reality on the ground.

The continuation of the current trend and supporting Saudi Arabia “can plague these countries themselves with Riyadh’s destabilizing policies in a short time,” Qassemi pointed out.

He added that those injured in a deadly crush during last year’s Hajj rituals in Mina, near the holy city of Mecca, and the families of the victims expect the Saudi government to be held accountable for the tragedy and reveal the facts about last year’s crush and other deadly incidents taking place every year during the Hajj rituals.

Qassemi made the comments in reaction to the Arab foreign ministers’ condemnation of the recent statements by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei against Saudi Arabia.

In his message to Hajj pilgrims on September 5, the Leader said, “Those who have reduced the Hajj to a mere pilgrimage-tourism trip and have hidden their enmity and grudge against the faithful and the revolutionary nation of Iran under the title of the “politicization of the Hajj” are puny and belittled devils, who shudder as soon as the ambitions of the Great Satan, America, are put in jeopardy.”

The Leader urged the Muslim world to know the Saudi rulers and truly realize the reality of their unfaithful and materialistic nature, saying they “must think of a fundamental solution for the management of the Two Holy Mosques and the issue of Hajj.”

Remnants of 2m-Year-Old Elephant Discovered in Iran

According to a report by Mehr, as translated by IFP, Aram Halim, the governor of Bileh Savar, said the remnants of an ancient elephant’s ivory and its upper and lower jaws were discovered last year in Fulad Luqui village.

“The remaining parts of the jaws together with the elephant’s teeth were also found in Bileh Savar’s Mirnezam village.”

“Over time, the ancient elephant’s teeth has transmuted to agate,” he said, adding that the estimates by the experts of Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization indicate that the fossils date back to two million years ago.

He further added that the experts happened to discover the remains of the elephant’s ivory in another village named Aghjeran which is located next to the village of Mirnezam.

Despite all the efforts made by experts to take the fossils to Tehran, the fossils were kept in the county for further study.

“Archaeological experts are still in the site striving to discover more relics and historical remains,” He stressed.

I Wasn’t Forced into Wearing Hijab: Iran’s Volleyball Coach

Iran’s Volleyball Coach

The Slovenian Majda Leban Cicic, who is accompanying the Iranian women’s national volleyball team in the Philippines as the head coach, revealed her interest in Hijab.
Here is IFP’s translation of Fars’ interview with Cicic who was wearing Hijab in the international competitions in the Philippines.
“I believe observing Hijab as the head coach of a Muslim team participating in international competitions in foreign countries is a sign of respect for the people of this country,” Cicic said.
“Above all, by doing this I am actually holding myself in high esteem.”
She pointed to the meeting she had with the President of Iranian Volleyball Federation, Mohammad Reza Davarzani, and added, “Before accompanying the Iranian national volleyball team on their trip to their away games for the first time, I talked to Davarzani and asked him for permission to wear headscarf during the games in all foreign countries as long as Iran’s flag is on my shirt.”
Stressing that no one has forced her into observing Hijab, she noted, “I chose to wear a headscarf and I don’t feel upset about it at all.”
Cicic went on to say that she liked to coach her team by the game court and work together with Iranian female volleyball players for Iran’s victory.
