No More Trace of ISIS Terrorists inside Iran: Minister

Terrorist Ringleader Jamshid Sharmahd Arrested Inside Iran: Minister

A member of the Iranian Parliament’s Presiding Board said the Intelligence Minister had assured the lawmakers that there was not a single terror cell remaining inside Iran.

Addressing the reporters on the sidelines of Parliament’s open session on Sunday, Akbar Ranjbarzadeh added that Minister Mahmoud Alavi briefed the lawmakers during a closed-door meeting on Tehran terror attacks.

“During our meeting, the minister said the perpetrators of Tehran attacks held Iranian nationality and were trained for a while outside Iran by ISIS for terrorist acts,” he said.

The Iranian MP quoted Alavi as saying, “The Iranian intelligence forces are strongly pressing ahead with their operations. The security situation is totally under control and we have already adopted appropriate measures.”

Iranian Intelligence forces identified and dismantled all potential terror cells inside the country.  Meanwhile, the perpetrators of Tehran attacks were identified and the mastermind of the attacks was killed in a foreign country, Alavi was quoted as saying.

Ranjbarzadeh added, during the meeting, the Intelligence Minister also noted that the terrorists indirectly involved with Tehran attacks were also identified and killed in different parts of the country.

The Iranian MP also quoted Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli as saying during the meeting that the terrorist attacks had not undermined Iran’s domestic security and would not affect the Islamic Republic’s will to fight terrorism.

Astana Talks Only Fruitful Process for Syria Peace: Iran FM

Astana Talks

“I think Astana [Process] has been up until now the only process that has produced result. And that is something that should be celebrated in this unfortunate situation where we have only conflict and bloodshed in this region,” Iran’s FM Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday in a joint press conference with his Norwegian counterpart in Oslo.

“We believe that Iran, Russia, and Turkey should continue to work together in order to strengthen the Astana process as a complement to the international attempts to bring peace and security in Syria and bring everybody to the negotiation table,” the Iranian top diplomat added.

“We have done some good work. There’s less killing and less bloodshed in Syria and we need to consolidate that by putting observers on the ground, and by allowing he humanitarian assistance to go forward […],” he went on to say.

He further noted that all regional players should come to their senses to understand that there is no military solution in Syria.

“All these conflicts in our region – whether it is in Yemen, in Bahrain, or in Syria – need political solution through dialogue, through inclusion to respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the wishes of the people of these countries rather than imposing on them from outside, imposing restrictions, imposing conditionalities on them from outside. Then we have taken a long step towards resolving these issues,” he added.

“Iran has always been prepared to – as a party not to these conflicts, but as a country that can provide some support for the political solution – to do as much as it can in order to help the political solution,” Zarif noted.

“I hope that the United States, the new administration in the US would also realize that taking military action, as it did, does not solve the problem rather it would exacerbate tension and difficulties and would also agree that everybody needs to come to a political solution through negotiations in an inclusive manner,” the Iranian FM added.

Iran Qualifies for FIFA World Cup 2018

Iran became the world’s second side, after Brazil, to qualify for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia after beating Uzbekistan 2-0 in a match held on Monday in Azadi Stadium, Tehran.

Strikers Sardar Azmoun and Mahdi Taremi scored the goals that helped Iran qualify for a world cup for the fifth time ever.

This is also the first time ever that Iran is booking a berth in FIFA world cup for the second consecutive time.

The Iranian national team has so far been the only team in the world that has not received any goal during the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifier matches.

This was an early qualification for Iran as it still has to play against South Korea and Syria.

Zarif, Mogherini Say Dialogue Only Way to Settle Regional Issues

Iran’s FM Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU’s Federica Mogherini stressed that any way other than political dialogue cannot resolve problems in the Middle East.

In their bilateral meeting in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, which was held ahead of the Oslo Forum, Zarif and Mogherini also discussed other regional topics including Syria and the developments in Persian Gulf region.

In this meeting, Mogherini once again stressed that the EU is committed to the implementation of the JCPOA, the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.

Zarif, for his part, underlined that Iran will never be the first party to violate the nuclear deal.

Iran’s Food Exports to Qatar Part of Normal Business Ties: FM

“We are a neighbour of Qatar and we always want positive relations with all our neighbours. And that does not exclude any of our neighbours,” Zarif said in response to a reporter who asked if Iran plans to send more food and other help to Qatar amid the ongoing blockade.

“If our Qatari neighbours require any assistance from Iran, Iran will be ready to provide that assistance. It is not assistance, it is normal trade which we believe everybody should prepare to conduct with others,” the Iranian FM added, speaking in a joint press conference with his Norwegian counterpart in Oslo.

Zarif referred to the move by Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies to close their borders with Qatar, and said the imposition of blockade is not a way to resolve conflicts, difficulties, and differences.

“We have open borders with Qatar, we have open lines of communication with Qatar and we are prepared to continue to allow normal business, normal trade with Qatar in areas that the private sector and public sector find it useful for them to engage,” he added.

Iran has already sent five planes of food items such as fruits and vegetables to Qatar, each of which carried around 90 tons of cargo.

Tehran voiced its preparedness to provide Doha with whatever food products the Arab country needs immediately after Saudi Arabia and a number of others broke off relations with Qatar, which relies heavily on importing food.

Back on June 5, the head of Iran’s Agricultural Products Exporters Union Reza Noorani said the Islamic Republic is ready to export various types of agricultural and food products to Qatar through three Iranian port cities.

Saudi Arabia has closed Qatar’s only land border, and Iran, as the closest country to Qatar, can export food products to the Arab country through a 12-hour shipping lane, he added.

Three Iranian ports of Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, and Bandar Lengeh are now ready to be used for the dispatch of Iranian products to Qatar, Noorani went on to say.

Many people in Qatar flocked to local supermarkets and grocery stores to stock up on food items after waking up to news of Saudi Arabia closing the country’s only land border.

FM Zarif Slams US Wrong Policy on Iran after Senate Sanctions Bill

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Norway for the Oslo Forum, Mohammad Javad Zarif slammed the US Senate move as a testimony of US officials’ shortsightedness.

Such behavior demonstrates the wrong policy that the US government has adopted toward Iran, particularly following the recent presidential election in the Islamic Republic, he added.

On June 7, the US Senate voted to advance a bill that would impose new sanctions on Iran. The vote was 92-7 on a procedural motion to end debate on the Iran sanctions bill, clearing the way for a vote later on passage of the legislation.

The US legislation would impose new sanctions on Iran over its ballistic missile program, its alleged human rights violation and claims of support for terrorist organizations. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed it 18-3 last month.

As regards the US obstruction of implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) -a nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), Zarif said he is going to caution against the US violation of the nuclear accord and the consequences of its destructive conducts in a meeting with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in Oslo on Monday.

The European Union, China and Russia, the main supporters of the JCPOA, have voiced determination to keep working with Iran irrespective of the US lack of commitment, Zarif added, stressing that Americans cannot undermine such relations.

The top Iranian diplomat went on to say that he will hold meetings with many ministers and intellectuals from other countries on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum.

Oslo forum is an annual international conference on armed conflict mediators and peace process actors.

The forum annually brings together senior conflict mediators, major players in peace processes, key decision-makers and eminent thinkers to reflect on current peace processes and to strengthen the practice of conflict mediation internationally.FM Zarif Slams US Wrong Policy on Iran after Senate Sanctions Bill

US Has Failed to Abide by Iran Nuclear Deal: Zarif

“We believe that the nuclear agreement is the result of a multilateral process endorsed by the UN Security Council,” Mohammad Javad Zarif said, speaking in a joint press conference with his Norwegian counterpart Børge Brende in Oslo.

“We believe that Iran has been committed – as verified by the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] time and again – to the nuclear deal. And it has proved to be an important achievement for the international community in reducing tension and preventing an unnecessary crisis from taking a toll on peace and security,” he went on to say.

“I believe the US administration will find it in the interest of the Unites States […] to live up to its commitment. Unfortunately it has not lived up fully to its commitment under the deal,” Zarif added.

“It is important for Iran to be able to continue its full dealings with the European Union and others in Europe and with other partners, and I believe it is important for everybody to send a very clear message that they want the continuation of a full commitment by everybody,” the Iranian top diplomat noted.

“Unfortunately the behaviour from the new administration in Washington is not very promising, but we believe at the end of the day, they will find it necessary to abide by the deal and we believe that the rest of the international community will make it clear – as it has done already to them – that it considers the nuclear deal as multilateral agreement and not a bilateral agreement between Iran and the United States,” he added.

Brende, for his part, referred to the recent terrorist attacks on Tehran, and told reporters that he has conveyed his sincere condolences to Zarif on behalf of the Norwegian government for the acts of terrorism.

“When it comes to fighting ISIS, I think we [Iran and Norway] both are very serious about this and we also have our challenges in fighting violent extremism in Europe. So this is something that we are also very much involved in as also a partner in coalition against Daesh [ISIS],” the Norwegian FM added.

Having arrived in Norway on Monday, Zarif plans to stay there for two days, during which he will give an address to the Oslo Forum, which gathers leading armed conflict mediation practitioners.

This year’s summit is to be held under the rubric, “Peace Making in the New Era of Geopolitics.”

The Forum’s upcoming edition is expected to gather the European Union’s foreign policy director Federica Mogherini, United Nations Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman, former UN chief Kofi Annan, former US secretary of state John Kerry, and the  foreign ministers of Kenya, Indonesia, Sudan, Jordan, Bosnia, Finland, and Croatia, among others.

The Forum started in 2003, gathering only 17 nations. However, it now invites representatives from around 100 countries each year to participate in discussions on international affairs.

Iranian Actress Awarded at Brooklyn Film Festival

Their situation, however, does not last long, and the days of separation arrive. The separation happens when Sis depends heavily on her mother due to her special conditions, and Tala is trying to provide security for Ati’s future in the remaining time; a future without her presence.

Iran’s Beauties in Photos: Spring in Neyshabur

Internationally known for its turquoise, the city of Neyshabur was founded in the 3rd century by Shapur I as a Sasanian satrapy capital.

It has a generally Mediterranean climate with rainy seasons mostly in the spring and winter. Towards the west of the city, however, the weather gradually changes to a cold semi-desert climate.
