The rush led to the crash of the website www.Gishe3.ir dedicated by Iran’s Football Federation to the ticket sales.

The crash happened just minutes after the website began to sell online the tickets of the final match, Iranian media reported.

Visitors to the website were faced with a message saying the website has become out of access.

The officials in charge said they were attempting to remove the problem.

The first leg of the match in Tokyo was held on Saturday and ended with a 2-0 victory for the Japanese side.

Now Persepolis fans are hopeful that their team would show a brilliant performance next Saturday at Azadi Stadium in Tehran, where over 85,000 spectators are going to support them.

Iran, Russia Vow to Maintain Support for Syrian Forces

Supporting the Syrian government and cooperation with the country to combat terrorism, as well as the preservation of Syria’s territorial integrity and using political mechanisms to let the Syrians determine the future of the country are the goals based on which the political and field victories have been achieved, noted Shamkhani.

The Iranian official made the comments in a meeting with Russian President’s Special Envoy for Syrian affairs Alexander Lavrentiev in Tehran. Lavrentiev has travelled to the Iranian capital upon the order of President Vladimir Putin to submit a report on the achievements of Istanbul summit.

Shamkhani also hailed Russia’s deployment of the S-300 missile defence system to Syria saying that the level of cooperation and common positions of Iran and Russia shows the Zionist regime’s negative role has no impact on the cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Lavrentiev hailed the constructive role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the political process of building peace in Syria, noting that the Russian Federation has been after enhancement and continuation of the two countries’ political cooperation in Syria until the full establishment of stability and security.

He also underlined that the plan to cleanse other areas of terrorists, especially Idlib, will be on top of the joint agenda.

Iran’s Beauties in Photos: Helt Canyon

The unique combination of Zagros Mountains, oak trees and Zal River has created the spectacular Helt Canyon close to the city of Pol-e Dokhtar.

Upon arriving in the canyon, you have the chance to have an enjoyable bath in its wild nature. It also gives you an opportunity to make a semi-professional canyon trekking without being equipped with expensive and professional tools.

Helt Canyon is about 4 kilometres in length and it takes between 3 to 4 hours to walk through it and return with an average pace. You cannot locate the unique and wild canyon through a simple search in the Internet.

Helt is located along a highway connecting Lorestan to Andimeshk in Pol-e Dokhtar town between Khargooshan 1 and 2 Tunnels. The name Helt is taken from a Lor tribe’s accent called Najafvands in Held region of Lorestan. The locals call the canyon “Helt”.

History of Helt Canyon

The creation of a natural phenomenon like Helt Canyon is highly time-consuming. It takes millions of years for a river to delicately carve a mountain’s hard stony peak day by day and open its way into its heart to create such a wonderful scene. It’s said that the entrance of the canyon used to be like a dam or lake but it turned into the current entrance after several heavy floods.

What follows are photos of the canyon retrieved from various sources:

Surrounding Must-See Sites

There are some amazing sites around the canyon which usually catch the eyes of the visitors. Some of these s

  • Korko village is 19 km away from Helt canyon. The village is home to a special animal species called Luristan newt (aka Kaiser’s spotted newt) or Cheragh Pough, as locals call it. Hunting down the salamanders or wounding them is forbidden by law and the perpetrators are heavily fined. It is also totally unacceptable by the village’s residents.
  • Pa Alam (Pol Tang) village is about 23 km away from Helt Canyon. Its historical sites include Pa Alam Castle (registered as a national site), Pa Alam Tower and Shah Ahmad Mausoleum.
  • The city of Pol-e Dokhtar is about 73 km way from the canyon. It includes a number of natural and historical sites like Afrineh Waterfall, Pol-e Dokhtar wetlands, Pol-e Dokhtar historical bridge, Kalmakareh Cave, Gavmishan Bridge, Abtaf Waterfall, Kougan Cave, Cheshmak Caravanserai and so on.

The session is expected to be attended by delegates from the 26 members of the organization including the US and Britain.

Alisadr Tourist Complex in Hamadan as one of the associate members of the UNWTO is set to host the session from November 12 to 16.

In addition to the UNWTO secretary general and members of the executive board, other delegates from Spain, Germany, South Africa, Turkey, Nigeria, Argentina, Italy, Finland, Malaysia, Portugal, Indonesia, India, Peru, Greece, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Colombia, Pakistan, Croatia, Uzbekistan, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Jordan and Bulgaria will take part in the session.

Why Does Visit of UNWTO Chief to Iran Matter?

In a press conference, Vali Teymouri, deputy head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO), said foreign delegates are going to attend the international event in defiance of the US pressures on Iran.

“The session is to be attended by 60 delegates from 26 countries. Amid the current situation, tourism can both thwart enemies’ plots and be used as a diplomatic leverage. That’s why it should be highlighted in all international documents as the main priority for all states,” he said.

According to Teymouri, the event is sponsored by the private sector. “The government only has a supportive role in the event and there has been no financial burden on the shoulder of the government amid the current economic pressure.”

Elaborating on the importance of the presence of the UNWTO secretary general in Iran, he said this is his first visit to Iran and his presence could promote Iran’s image in the world paving the way for further cooperation between the Islamic Republic and other members of the UNWTO.

He then referred to the international event’s capacities and said during the session, the participants will exchange knowledge on the latest developments in tourism industry.

Iran was elected as the host of the UNWTO meeting during the 22nd session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Chengdu, China, in September 2017. The event could be the beginning of a fruitful and important route for tourism in Iran and the province of Hamadan.

Hamadan has been chosen as Asia’s hub of tourism in 2018 by the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), the continent’s largest tourism institution comprising 34 members.

Hamadan’s tourism potential includes its Imam Square, the Hegmataneh (Ecbatana) historical site, the Pisa Hill, the Hajiabad Hill, the Baba Tahir Tomb, Avicenna’s Tomb, among others. Some archaeologists believe the city dates back to the Median era.

Iran Dismisses Reports of Phone Call with Saudi FM

Zarif Jubeir
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is giving a rare handshake to his Saudi counterpart Adel al-Jubeir on the sidelines of a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, Turkey, on August 1, 2017.

Speaking in a weekly press briefing in Tehran, Qassemi rejected the report by Qatari media, but at the same time noted that Tehran is interested in having peaceful coexistence with all its neighbours, including Saudi Arabia.

Asked about a possible change in Tehran’s stances towards Riyadh following the murder of Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul, Qassemi said the Islamic Republic’s approach to its neighbours is principled and sustainable.

“We are interested in moving towards a peaceful coexistence with all our neighbours in a way that serves the welfare of the regional nations,” he added.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had earlier denied any secret phone calls with his Saudi counterpart, saying that the Saudi government has not made such a move.

The Saudi government needs to review its regional policies, and if such a review is to be made, Tehran is prepared for this, because we are keen to have good relations with our neighbours, Zarif told reporters on Thursday at the end of his one-day visit to Pakistan.

“We believe tension with Iran has had no benefits for our neighbours, and we do hope they put aside this policy as soon as possible.”
