US Attempts to Counter IRGC Will Get Nowhere: Iran Leader

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the comment in a Monday meeting with a host of IRGC staff and their families.

He said the reason behind the Americans’ animosity towards the IRGC is that it has taken the lead in defending the country and the Islamic Revolution.

“The United States and insane enemies have tried their utmost for forty years to counter the Islamic Republic, but they failed to do a damn thing,” said the Leader.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the IRGC is a prominent institution and is at the forefront of the campaign against enemies on different fronts, including in the battlefield as well as in political confrontation.

IRGC to Get Even More Popular after US Blacklisting: Rouhani

“The Americans believe they are hatching plots against the IRGC and, in fact, against the revolution and Iran,” said the Leader.

However, he added, Washington’s hostility will get nowhere and its deception and duplicity will boomerang.

“The enemies of the Islamic Republic such as Trump and the fools surrounding him and the ruling system in the US are reaching their nadir,” said Ayatollah Khamenei.

The Leader underlined the enemies of Iran have been exerting political, economic and propaganda pressure on the Iranian nation for forty years, but to no avail.

He said Iran’s dignity and power are not because of nuclear bombs, but due to the people’s resistance, devotion and vigilance.

The Leader’s comments came a few hours after US President Donald Trump named the IRGC a foreign terrorist organisation.

IRGC to Get Even More Popular after US Blacklisting: Rouhani

Hassan Rouhani - President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

“This mistake will unite Iranians and the IRGC will grow more popular in Iran and the region,” Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday.

His comments came after Washington labelled Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps as a foreign terrorist organisation. Tehran took retaliatory action by naming the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) as a terrorist organisation and the US government as a sponsor of terror.

Rouhani defended the IRGC as protectors of Iran saying that the IRGC members have sacrificed their lives to protect people, and (1979) revolution.

“Who are you to label revolutionary institutions as terrorists?” Rouhani asked in an address to a conference marking the country’s Nuclear Technology Day.

“You want to use terrorist groups as tools against the nations of the region. You are the leader of world terrorism,” he said.

US Attempts to Counter IRGC Will Get Nowhere: Iran Leader

Rouhani said this unprecedented step will heighten tensions in the Middle East.

He hailed the moves by the IRGC in the region underlining that the military force helped countries in the region like Syria and Iraq in recent years to defeat ISIS.

The Iranian president also added that Washington tried to use ISIS as a tool for its own purposes and still protests its leaders. “America has used terrorists as a tool in the region while the IRGC has fought against them.”

He further pointed out that the move cannot hamper the Islamic Republic’s military or technological progress.

“I am telling you, if you pressure us, we will mass produce IR-8 advanced centrifuges,” Rouhani said, addressing US leaders.

Iranian MPs Chant ‘Death to America’ Wearing IRGC Uniform

During the Tuesday morning meeting of the parliament, Speaker Ali Larijani strongly lashed out at the United States for labeling the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps as a foreign terrorist organisation.

Larijani said the US move shows its witlessness. He also noted that the IRGC is the most important force that fights terrorists in the region.

“The disgraceful behaviour of the US regime, which has rudely declared the IRGC a terror organisation, is an indication of the grudge and stupidity of this regime.”

‘Iran No Longer Sees US Forces in Mideast as Ordinary Soldiers’

He said it was the IRGC which crushed terror groups that were causing chaos in the region in recent years.

Larijani further added that Washington is the main backer of terrorist groups like ISIS. He said all Iranians support the IRGC.

Meanwhile, Parliament’s Deputy Speaker Ali Motahari said the move was the last ploy by the US and the parliament will ratify a law on Tuesday to support the IRGC.

“The Americans made a big mistake because the IRGC is a popular organisation among Iranians and in the region. Labeling IRGC as terrorist group shows their weakness,” underlined Motahari.

On Monday, US President Donald Trump named the IRGC a terrorist organisation. This move drew Iranian condemnation and raised concerns about Iran’s retaliatory moves.

Water Flowing Again Beneath Ancient Barrage in Southern Iran

Amir Barrage was built in the time of Adud al-Dawla of Buyid dynasty who ruled Iran from 949 to 983 AD. The barrage is located at the end of Marvdasht Plain, 10 km south-east of Marvdasht County.

With downpours during this year’s Nowruz, the Kor River’s flow increased after years of drought and people came to see water flowing under the Band-e-Amir.

Here are photos of the barrage taken from IRNA:

‘Iran No Longer Sees US Forces in Mideast as Ordinary Soldiers’

US Marine Corps General Kenneth F. McKenzie, Commander US Central Command, which was officially labelled as a terrorist organization by Iran's Supreme National Security Council on April 8, 2019

Seyyed Abbas Araqchi made the comment after the White House put Iran’s Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on its list of foreign terrorist organizations.

“From now on, US troops in the [Middle East] region will not be ordinary soldiers from our point of view. They are terrorist forces, and US bases in the region are also terror bases, and the way we deal with them will definitely be different from that of the past,” he said.

He said Iran has sent to the US a clear message in that regard via the embassy of Switzerland, which represents the US interests in Iran.

Iran Officially Labels US ‘State Sponsor of Terrorism’

“Through the Swiss ambassador, we sent a straightforward and direct message to the United States that if it goes ahead with its plan, [Iran’s] reciprocal action will be clear and swift, and the US will be directly responsible for any incident that might happen from then on,” he said, recalling that the Swiss ambassador had been summoned to the Foreign Ministry to be notified of Iran’s message to the US.

“The Americans are responsible for many crimes, including the attack on our passenger plane to the developments in Yemen, Syria, Palestine and support for the ISIS [terror group], and CENTCOM (the US Central Command) and forces affiliated to it are involved in all those [crimes] and can be regarded as terrorist elements,” said the top official.

He said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s letter was in that regard and was confirmed by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).

“In a statement, the SNSC introduced CENTCOM and forces affiliated to it as terrorist entities. This move can have severe consequences for the region,” Araqchi noted.

“American forces keep coming to and moving across the Persian Gulf, and it is a duty of the IRGC to safeguard the Persian Gulf,” he noted.

Gen. Soleimani Urges Popular Forces to Help Flood-Hit People

General Soleimani made the remarks during a visit to the flood-hit areas of Khuzestan province.

He said that helping the people of Khuzestan is like defending the holy shrines in Syria and defending the Iranian territory during the eight-year war against Iraq.

“At the moment many youths are insisting to be deployed to Syria to defend the holy shrines, but helping people in Khuzestan is the same as defending the holy shrines because nothing is more important than preserving the dignity of a human being,” added the senior commander.

“I was impressed by the efforts of people in Khuzestan. Although the government insists on evacuating, they are resisting with preliminary equipment. I think we have passed the main wave of the crisis, but at the same time we must help people not to be disturbed.”

Flooding swamped northeast Iran in mid-March before spreading to the west and southwest of the country later in the month. Heavy rains brought more floods to the west and southwest at the start of April.

One of the worst-hit areas is southern Khuzestan province where fresh flood warnings have been issued to the people.

Evacuation orders remain in place for homes near river banks and in areas at high risk of flooding. Large areas remain inundated as the affected citizens are trying to cope with the situation.

Villages Evacuated as Huge Dam on Iran’s Karkhe River Overflows

In comments on Monday, Gholamreza Shariati said while the inflow and outflow of water at the Dez dam have declined and the situation is under control, the other major dam on the Karkhe river has overflown.

He said an evacuation order has been issued for people living in the towns of Soosangerd, Bostan, Rafee’, Koot Seyed Naeem, Abu Humaydha and Hamidiya.

It is necessary for women, children, and the elderly to leave those areas, the governor stressed, saying young people can stay and protect the cities by making flood barriers.

Thousands of people living near the Karkhe and Dez rivers in Khuzestan have left their houses in recent days.

Record spring rainfall that has battered Iran in the past weeks caused serious flooding in many areas, mainly the provinces of Golestan, Lorestan, Khuzestan, Fars and Ilam.

The death toll from the floods has surpassed 70, while the highest number of casualties occurred in the province of Fars with 21 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Army Ground Force, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Basij have deployed forces, heavy military machinery, aircraft and boats to the disaster zones.

On Friday, the IRGC Aerospace Force said its helicopters have rescued some 200 people trapped by flood waters in the rural areas of Ilam.

Commander of the Army Ground Force also announced that 6,000 Army troops have been deployed to the province of Lorestan for rescue and relief operations.

Customers don’t want to wait for the reply of an email; even most of them prefer to interact with favorite brands and business via live chat rather than a phone call or email. Facebook messenger is the common and most effective example as a channel for customer support through which customers can converse with companies or brands in real-time. Facebook messenger also shows the average responsiveness for each brand or company that helps customers to have an idea about when they would be responded. Not only Facebook but many other social media platforms also offer real-time messaging to help businesses to respond to their customers as soon as possible.

Communicate via New Technologies

Availability of numerous means of digital communication leaves no excuse for brands and companies for having poor and old-fashioned communication structure. Simple to say that latest technology allows businesses to connect with customers through their favorite communication mediums. For instance, almost everyone is on social media nowadays, and businesses can also set up their social media profiles to provide their customers with convenience of live chat.

24/7 Availability

Customers are impatient these days and they want their queries or issues resolved in real time, and 24/7 availability is the only way to entertain customers in the best possible way. In this digital world, 9 to 5 customer support is not acceptable anymore and it can lead a business towards failure if still followed. However, brands and businesses now are capable to be available 24 hours a day due to the latest means of communication like websites, chatbots, email, phone calls, social media, and mobile apps, etc. it offers customers the freedom to contact with a business or brand whenever they want by using their favorite communication modes. For instance, now a customer can contact to a watch company anytime via social media in order to inquire about his/her favorite brands like jaeger lecoultre or Rolex, etc. it will not only help customers to acquire useful details in real time but the companies will also be able to secure more sales.

Provide Mobile Access

Customers always want convenient and simple ways to connect with their favorite brands or companies when it comes to get useful details or information regarding some products or services. They not only want information in real time but even while on the go. So, a brand or company should provide them with mobile access to help them resolved their queries on the way. Social media platforms, mobile responsive websites and mobile apps are the best means of digital communication that allows brands to stay in touch with their customers whenever and wherever they want.

Social Media is a Standard Customer service Tool These Days

Majority of people use social media not only to effectively communicate with each other but to check the product reviews, customer feedback and other likely information before making purchases. That is the reason; every business or brand must build a strong presence on social media not only to provide their customers with updated business and product information but to respond their questions and queries in real time. Customers can instantly criticize or appreciate brands and business over social media that can be a great thing for businesses to improve their products or services as per customer needs and requirements.

Pakistan Ready to Send Humanitarian Aid to Iran: FM

Speaking in a Monday phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, Qureshi also expressed sympathy with the Iranian nation and government over the deadly flooding.

Zarif, for his part, thanked the government and nation of the friendly and neighbouring country of Pakistan.

The phone call came shortly after Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan offered humanitarian assistance to Iran.

In a Tweet on Sunday, Imran Khan wrote that his prayers are with the Iranian people. He also expressed Pakistan’s readiness to provide any humanitarian assistance required.

Iran moved on Saturday to evacuate more towns and villages threatened by floods after continued rain in the southwest of the country as the nationwide toll from the flooding reached 70.

About 1,900 cities and villages have been affected by floods after exceptionally heavy rains since March 19.

Several countries and international humanitarian bodies have so far started dispatching their aid cargos to the crisis-hit areas of Iran.
