Medicinal Herbs: An Effective Treatment for Migraine

Medicinal Herbs: An Effective Treatment for Migraine

Let’s talk about Migraine before going to the effects of medicinal herbs on its treatment.

What are the symptoms?

Migraine has different symptoms such as headache, eyesight disorders, nausea, digestive disorders, sensitivity to light and sound, etc., each of which can disrupt the day-to-day lives of sufferers from migraine. Therefore, the treatment of migraine is of great significance and is regarded as a major concern for those afflicted by it. With the advancement of the pharmaceutics industry and science, it has now become possible to effectively use medicinal herbs to treat migraine.

What are the causes?

Migraine, which emanates from genetic and environmental causes, usually takes a few hours or even a few days. A disorder inside blood vessels in the brain causes the Migraine; though it is not exactly clear how. According to experts, Migraine has genetic causes in many cases. Of course, environmental factors contribute to the development or intensification of migraine. Among the factors contributing to the development of migraine are hormone changes, hunger, smelling strong perfumes, the smell of tobacco, insufficient sleep, stress, waves and light, sudden stop in taking caffeine, being in noisy places, drinking alcoholic beverages and being allergic to food.

How to prevent the pain?

You could prevent migraine pains to a great extent by avoiding the above-mentioned environmental factors. However, using the existing medications is an effective way to treat migraine. Nevertheless, taking painkillers or other migraine medicines for a long time can have harmful side effects such as sleepiness, severe headaches, depressions and vertigo. While chemical drugs have side effects, the use of herbal medicines as effective painkillers is harmless.

The role of medical herbs

In recent years, the therapeutic effects of some medicinal herbs to treat migraine have been confirmed. Some medicinal herbs have hit the market as well. One such product is the migraine spray which is made up of herbs such as lavender, violet, fennel, etc., whose therapeutic effect have been proven in clinical studies. The feverfew syrup (tanacetum) also prevents the occurrence of migraine to a great extent. Peppermint is another herb used to treat migraine. It contains menthol, which helps reduce the effects of migraine by improving blood circulation. Peppermint oil or peppermint tea can easily reduce migraine pain.

Iran Launches Plant that Builds Advanced Centrifuges on Daily Basis

On a visit to an under-construction national ion therapy center in the city of Karaj on Tuesday, Salehi said his agency has lately inaugurated a modern hall, which has the capability to produce 60 state-of-the-art centrifuges per day.

He further noted that Iran has already installed advanced IR-6 centrifuges regardless of certain states’ protest, and is currently testing a newer generation of centrifuges dubbed IR-8.

The Iranian nuclear chief hoped that the country’s ion therapy center, with an estimated construction cost of 200 million euros, would be completed and fully come on stream within the next five years.

Salehi underlined that the work on building two 1,000-megawatt nuclear power plants, which started two years ago with an estimated cost of $10 billion, will continue.

He pointed out that said Iran has never halted its peaceful nuclear program and will never do so.

“I would like to explicitly tell the people that we will continue our movement towards fulfilling our nuclear objectives and we have never stopped and will never stop in the future,” Salehi noted.

He said the AEOI used to produce 10 tons of uranium for years, while the volume stood at 30 tons last year.

Salehi emphasized that production of uranium may increase to 50 tons if the current trend continues.

Speaking in an interview with the German daily Süddeutsche Zeitung on Monday, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran will take the “third step” in reducing its commitments under a 2015 multilateral nuclear deal unless the other signatories take action to protect the agreement.

The third step will be taken on September 6, Zarif said, adding that if Tehran comes to an agreement with Europe and the European side begins to implement it, it will not take such a measure.

The top Iranian diplomat lashed out at the US for unilaterally leaving the nuclear deal, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and pushing the European signatories to follow suit.

The Americans, he said, need to stop preventing others from fulfilling their obligations or pushing them into breaching the JCPOA.

Tehran has rowed back on its nuclear commitments twice in compliance with articles 26 and 36 of the 2015 deal.

Iran says its reciprocal measures will be reversible as soon as Europe finds practical ways to shield the Iranian economy from unilateral US sanctions which were imposed last year when President Donald Trump withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal.

The European signatories to the JCPOA have so far failed to uphold their commitments. They have expressed vocal support for the deal, but failed to provide meaningful economic incentives as required under the nuclear agreement.

The Europeans have already missed a 60-deadline set by Tehran, prompting Iran to go for the second phase of cutting its commitments on July 7, which marked the start of a second such deadline for them.

As a first step Iran increased its enriched uranium stockpile to beyond the 300 kilograms set by the JCPOA.

In the second step, Tehran began enriching uranium to purity rates beyond the JCPOA-limit of 3.76 percent.

Tehran Hosting Handmade Carpet Exhibition

The exhibition, which opened on Sunday and will be underway until August 31, is being held at Tehran’s Permanent International Fairgrounds.

Hundreds of Iranian carpet weaving units are taking part in the event putting their latest products on display.

The event is aimed at promoting handmade carpets in the world and paving the way for further exports of carpet in global markets.

The annual event attracts about 100,000 visitors including traders and researchers from Iran and the world.

According to official figures, carpet industry has a significant share in the country’s non-oil exports. Iranian handmade carpets are well-known worldwide for their delicate designs and good quality.

Latest statistics show that handwoven carpets worth some 500 million dollars were exported in the last fiscal year.

Israel Pressing for Proxy War to Pressure Iran: IRGC General

In an interview with Jamaran, General Hossein Alayee – a former chief of staff of the IRGC and the first IRGC Navy commander – has commented on the objectives behind a new round of Israeli military strikes on pro-resistance forces in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.

“It seems that Israel’s main purpose in launching the recent attacks on the buildings of Hezbollah in Lebanon, on the Hashd al-Sha’abi (Popular Mobilization Forces) military bases in Iraq, and on the positions that it believes belong to the IRGC Quds Force in Syria, is to make the US and a number of the European and Arab countries sensitive about the Islamic Republic’s increasing clout in the Middle East,” he noted.

“Israel wants to argue that despite the full-scale US sanctions, Iran’s power is constantly increasing in the countries around Israel, and that it would be possible to curb it only with bombardment and military attacks. In addition, the Zionist regime wants to create a rift in the relations of the governments of Lebanon and Iraq with Iran, and to link their security to restrictions on Hezbollah, Hashd al-Sha’abi and the Quds Force,” the general explained.

“Israel is seeking to start a proxy war under the pretext of carrying a preemptive operation in order to force the US to mount pressures on Iran. Israel is sensing that Iran, under the current conditions of hostility with the US, is not after an escalation of tensions in the region and would avoid any measure leading to war, so it is the best time (for Israel) to attack the positions of pro-Iranian organizations and currents in the regional countries. In fact, the Israeli strikes complement the US’ massive economic sanctions against Iran. Israel believes that Iran would not show a serious reaction to these bombings, and that it (Israel) would be able to rebuild its military credibility and violence on the ground,” Alayee added.

“Whenever the diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between Iran and the US are stepped up, Israel becomes deeply concerned. The recent diplomatic pressures from Iran to force the US to retreat and the French president’s attempt to extract concessions from Trump for saving the JCPOA have scared Netanyahu. Maybe the Israeli prime minister is trying to make up for the defeat of American credibility after downing of the spy drone over the Strait of Hormuz. Maybe Iran would not need to react directly for now. At present, if the governments of Lebanon, Iraq and Syria do not disapprove, the Hezbollah and Hashd al-Sha’abi will be able to cope with Israel and establish deterrence,” the ex-general concluded.

Lavashak; Mouth-Watering Persian Fruit Roll-Up

How to Make Lavashak

The Lavashak (fruit rolls) found on the shelves in the market never taste as good as home-made ones. It has been customary since old times to make fruit roll-up from different types of fruit.

Most Iranian kids remember seeing cooked fruit being spread across round trays and put on rooftops to dry and turn into fruit roll-ups.

While fruit roll-ups debuted in grocery stores across America just in 1983, Lavashak (Persian Fruit Leather) has been made in Iran since a very long time ago.

How to Make Lavashak

How to Make Lavashak

Summer, with diverse types of fruit and hot sunshine, is the best season to make fruit roll-ups.

Sour cherries, yellow plums, apricots, raspberries, blackberries, peaches and other summer fruits can be made into fruit roll-ups.

Based on what taste one prefers (sour, sweet or sour-sweet), one can mix different types of fruit with different amounts. Each fruit can be used alone to make roll-ups or they may be mixed.

If you like sour fruit roll-ups, for example, you can add more raspberries and sour cherries. If you prefer roll-ups sweet, you may add more plums and apricots. If you like them sour-sweet, add an equal amount of each fruit.

Ingredients for Persian Fruit Leather

Sour cherries, raspberries, apricots, yellow plums and blackberries: mixed in amounts as you wish depending on whether you prefer sour, sweet or sour-sweet tastes.

Making Steps For Lavashak

Step 1:

Deseed the fruits after washing them and mix them all with some water and put the mixture on the heat to cook.

Step 2:

The mixture should remain on the oven for quite some time, so that the mixture will become completely thick and the fruits are cooked through and mashed. It takes around one hour. Add some salt at the end.

Step 3:

After the mixture gets cool a little, strain it to get a consistent mixture.

Step 4:

Grease the tray or whatever dish you have chosen with some oil before spreading the mixture onto it to get a thin, flat layer. Then put it under the sun. You had better cover the tray with thin cloth to keep away insects and dust.

Step 5:

The roll-ups are ready in two or three days’ time.

Step 6:

Now cut the roll-ups into pieces and remove them from the tray.

Additional Points

1. Remember that you should not make the paste too thin. That is because your Lavashak gets even thinner after drying up, and if too thin, your Lavashak will be dry and stiff.

2. If you cannot place Lavashak in sunlight, you can place it before a fan or air cooler.

3. Remember that Lavashak should be dehydrated completely before removal and cutting. Without fully drying, they form molds very quickly and your effort is wasted.

4. The best place to keep Lavashak is a cold and dry cabinet. Make sure you never keep your fruit leather in a refrigerator because it leads to the layers to stick together.

5. Kiwis alone cannot be used to make Lavashak. That is because of the fruit’s high acidity. Kiwis should be mixed with plums to make Persian fruit leather.

6. You can get creative and place a mixture of different fruit, you have in your refrigerator, inside the pot and make a Lavashak with a new flavor.

Frequently asked questions:

1. Which fruits can be used to make Lavashak?

Almost all stone fruits can be used to make Lavashak. The most favorite fruits to make Lavashak, however, are apricots as well as different black, yellow and red plums. But you should not ignore such fruits as strawberries, oranges, kiwis and even tangerines.

2. Is there a method to make Lavashak without the fruit losing its nutrients and vitamins?

Fruit used to make home-made Lavashak never lose their nutrients and are full of different and useful vitamins and minerals.

Zarif Meets Japanese, Libyan Counterparts in Yokohama

In their meeting on Tuesday, Zarif and Kōno discussed bilateral relations and the latest moves and developments regarding the implementation of the JCPOA.

They also exchanged views on the most important regional and international issues, including the situation in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, and other issues of mutual interest.

Zarif Meets Japanese, Libyan Counterparts in YokohamaThe Iranian top diplomat also conferred on bilateral ties and the latest developments in Libya in his meeting with Siala, who is in Yokohama to attend the International Conference on African Development.

Zarif left China for Japan on Tuesday as part of a whistle-stop East Asia tour which will also take him to Malaysia.

The three-nation tour comes after his tour of three Scandinavian countries – Finland, Sweden, and Norway – and two short trips to France.

New Oil Reserves Found in South-Western Iran

“According to exploration studies and seismological surveys conducted in the exploratory region of North Dezful, near the fields of Mansouri, Cheshmeh Khosh and Maroun, in the regions in western and eastern Sousangerd, reports are indicating the discovery of an oil reservoir,” NIOCEXP said.

Further reports said the deposits have been found in the Ilam and Gurpi formations which are extended in the provinces of Khuzestan, Lorestan and Fars. They said the volume of the reserves and their types will be subsequently announced by NIOCEXP after further reviews.

The Gurpi Formation is one of the most important lithostratigraphic units in the Zagros foreland basin because of its significance in the petroleum geology of Iran as the source rock.

Iran’s oil sector is facing US sanctions imposed in November, including a pledge by President Donald Trump to bring the country’s oil exports down to zero.

President Hassan Rouhani has said Iran cannot be shut out of global energy markets because of its vast oil and gas reserves.

On Monday, Trump described Iran as a country of “tremendous potential”, saying he was ready to meet Rouhani under the right circumstances to end a confrontation over the 2015 nuclear deal which the US president abandoned last year.

The mercurial American leader, however, ruled out lifting unilateral US sanctions and suggested Iran would meet “violent force” if it followed through on what it called its threats.

Trump also said he was not open to giving Iran compensation for sanctions, but did not oppose the idea that numerous countries give Iran a credit line to keep it going.

“No we are not paying, we don’t pay,” Trump said.

“But they may need some money to get them over a very rough patch and if they do need money, and it would be secured by oil, which to me is great security, and they have a lot of oil… so we are really talking about a letter of credit. It would be from numerous countries, numerous countries.”

Iranian officials have said the country’s energy development plans are on track, though at a slackened pace due to the sanctions.

In December, NIOCEXP head Saleh Hendi said 35-40 new hydrocarbon reservoirs had been discovered across Iran, which needed development. “We are now ranked first in the world for oil and gas reserves,” he said.

Hendi also said Iran was scouring 60 percent of its total area for new oil and gas reserves, including in places which were deemed until recently the least likely to have hydrocarbon-bearing formations.

In January, the country struck oil in Abadan, containing reserves of “very light and sweet”. The discovery on Minoo Island was the first ever oil find in the general area of Abadan which is home to Iran’s largest and oldest oil processing facility.

How to Plan and Execute Your Move

Moving is not just keeping the things in a truck and carrying away. You need to properly pack them in containers and then move otherwise you can miss on something or even thing could break. So it is really important to have a plan and then properly execute it. Given below is a proper plan on how to begin with the moving process and how to accomplish it.

First, have a plan

Planning is the most important aspect of everything. Especially when you begin you need to understand how much cost will be involved. For this, you can use a moving cost calculator which will help you to know a different kind of expenses and what will be the total. It will make things easy for you. Even in this stage, you will know about how many boxes you will need, how many people you need for help, how many days would be required for packing plus how will you manage delicate items. Basically, this will be a stage which will help you to build a layout. This is the first step so as to have a smooth moving process.

Discard the things which are of no use

Usually, when you begin with packing, you get emotional on certain things and pack them along when you actually don’t need them. That is something wrong. You need to understand the process of decluttering that is selling the things or give it to someone so as they could use it. When you start taking everything along, the cost of moving increases plus your load also increases.  Sometimes things even get spoiled after some time when you don’t use. So, what’s the use of taking things along when you really don’t require them? So declutter first and then pack.

Start with the room which you use the least

We usually have a guest room or storeroom in the house where we keep certain things and are don’t use them much. So begin your packing with that room. Have different boxes and label them like cupboard 1, drawer 1 etc, so that you have an estimate of which thing you have kept in which specific box. If you hire some professional aid too then also make sure you put such taglines so that things could be located easily.

Pack fragile items in separate boxes

You have certain glass places or glasses, use specific boxes for them which has division. After you put them to fix them with tape and properly put things so that there is no space for things to move inside. Even mention fragile on it and the quantity and types of things in it so that you can know what you have kept where. Bubble wrap the things and use a lot of thermocol so that your delicate items stay safe.

Pack your electronics in the boxes you purchased them

When you pack your electronics use the boxes in which you purchased. It is important because they are of the right size and they will keep the things safe but if you don’t have those boxes then get boxes of just the same size so that the electronics do not move in it. It is same as fragile items. If there is space, then things will move and you won’t be able to protect it from breakage. So get the same size boxes and then do the packing.

Pack your daily utilities in a separate box

When you enter a new place maybe it’s just one lane away, you need to understand that when you enter the home you won’t be able to open all the boxes right away. It will take time. So prepare a bag which has your daily utilities so that starting three-four days you can easily stay without opening all the boxes keep your basic toiletries, clothes, medicines and such things so that you can easily manage your stuff. Don’t forget to put two or three minimum towels as you would require them the most.

Pack your kitchen in the end

We usually start packing the kitchen at the first without realizing that how we will cook. So the basic utensils and food items should be packed in the end. Even when you pack to take care that the liquid items are either properly pack or you leave them there only so that they don’t spill in between.

Moving

Lastly comes the stage when you move. Count the number of boxes first and then load them.   Check for around four to five items that you don’t leave anything there. Say all your family members to repeatedly open the drawers and check below the beds and such areas so that you don’t forget something. Once loading is done, you need to be careful that your jewellery and basic utility bag is with you. That is something you would require when you reach. So be careful about that. Even the important documents and cash should be in your hand as on the way it can be stolen or torn off. So be careful.

Thus this is the whole process on how, to begin with, packing and then reach your new place safely.

Hope you have a happy move.

‘No Rouhani-Trump Meeting in Sight Unless US Returns to JCPOA’

Zarif said on Tuesday any bilateral meeting between Hassan Rouhani of Iran and his opposite number Donald Trump hinges on the US rejoining the P5+1 and fulfilling its commitments.

He also touched upon French President Emmanuel Macron’s expressing his readiness to host a meeting between Rouhani and Trump.

“We said clearly that the US government and Mr Trump had violated the agreements reached following marathon talks between the two countries, and that what needs to be done is to implements past agreements,” Zarif told reporters before leaving the Chinese capital, Beijing, for Japan.

Iran’s top diplomat noted he has already discussed with Macron in Paris ways of preserving the Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) through the fulfilment of obligations by both sides.

Zarif said he reiterated in Paris that Iran had complied with its obligations under the JCPOA, and that the US had illegally pulled out of the JCPOA and that Europe had not taken any action to put the trend of the implementation of the nuclear deal back on track.

His comments came shortly after Rouhani said there will be no development in Tehran-Washington relations unless the US lifts its sanctions on Iran as a “first step”.

President Rouhani said the key to bringing about a positive change in Iran-US ties is in the hands of Washington.

He said the United States should rectify its behaviour and return to the right path before there could be any positive developments in mutual ties.
