Iran, Switzerland Discuss Consular Affairs in Tehran

In addition to addressing bilateral consular issues, the two sides emphasised facilitation of visa issuance, as well as expansion of scientific, academic and tourism cooperation.

In this meeting, Mohammadi announced Tehran’s readiness to sign consular cooperation agreements and basic judicial documents with Switzerland.

The two sides also outlined the process of digitalising consular services in their respective ministries, saying that cooperation and exchange of experience in this field is feasible and useful.

Iran Ready to Export Homegrown Industrial Robots

The Iranian firm Qeshm Voltage company has managed to domestically develop modern technologies by producing research-laboratory equipment needed to make industrial robots and control panels.

The company, which was the automation and drive agent of the German company Siemens in Iran, began its work with this multinational conglomerate. Over years of its operation, Qeshm Voltage began to realize the needs of the Iranian society, from the need for aftersales technical services for sold equipment to offering training on automation in different industries due to a shortage of automated machines.

Accordingly, automation training programs got underway in various industries. Currently, some 2000 engineers are trained in short-term courses and receive local and international certificates.

For instance, certain controllers are installed in systems handling the process of oil and gas production. If engineers want to operate these controllers, they first need to receive PLC control system training, which is offered by this company.

EU Tells Iran Can’t Do Anything without Trump Permission: Zarif

“In Europe, when we talk to the president of a permanent member of the Security Council that is in possession of nuclear bombs, he tells us he can’t do anything without Trump’s permission,” Zarif said.

“If these days the Europeans are getting a little closer to the US and have become America’s ally, that’s not because they saw us in a weak position, but it’s rather due to their failure to stand up against the US. They have become Washington’s ally to preserve the rest of their reputation.”

He made the remarks during his short stay in Germany’s Frankfurt, where he met with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomats, their families and a group of Iranians residing in the city.

Zarif highlighted that it’s been five months that Europe has been trying to open a credit line for the Islamic Republic in exchange for selling the country’s oil, but the bloc has not been even able to do such a small business since it is not even allowed by its master to spend its own money on its own security.

“Therefore, resistance has brought dignity to the people, and we must all accompany the people in enduring the pressure. We must know that our noble power and presence in the world arena is due to the true power of the people and their resistance against heavy US pressure. For the sake of this resistance, the United States has been plagued by political void, irritation and repulsion.”

Zarif said the diplomats of the Islamic Republic of Iran are the only ones who do not have to get orders from powers abroad to express their opinions and position.

He said the obvious fact is that “in the most difficult cases, we can make decisions without worrying about the ramifications, and I hope the sweetness of this approach will always remain with us.”

“This approach is the fruit of Iranian people’s resistance and their presence in the country’s political arena.”

Zarif said the US government has pursued its policy of maximum pressure since two years ago with utmost resentment and hatred against the noble Iranian nation.

He noted that the accusations, restrictions and pressure currently faced by the Iranian people from all walks of life, including diplomats, are unprecedented in the past 40 years.

The foreign minister went on to say that any government that relies on its own people can certainly take this approach, and what distinguishes the great Iranian people and highlights their position globally is the fact that we have found this dignity 40 years ago.

“If we stand with people and along them, and if we take our strength and advancement from the people and trust ourselves, it will be so,” said Zarif.

Of course, the path to cooperate with foreign countries is always open and our job is to provide the best for the people. We have never looked beyond our borders for the dignity, progress and development of our country, and what matters most is our faith and trust in these people, after God, underlined Zarif.

“It was not [just] a slogan when Imam Khomeini (RA) said the people are our patrons. It is not [just] a slogan when the Leader of Islamic Revolution says people’s vote is the right we must protect, since he knows it’s because of this people that we have been able to stay strong.”

“Americans feel they have been defeated by us both on the political scene and in the regional and field arena,” said FM Zarif.

“If it had been otherwise, they would not have withdrawn from the JCPOA to isolate themselves in such a way.”

Speaking about the way the representatives of the foreign ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran must deal with the people, he said, “Everyone with any idea, opinion, attitude or appearance who enters our embassies and asks for something must be treated in the best possible way because s/he is part of the great nation of Iran. We should not behave differently when they come to us, because whatever we have, we owe to them.”

Iran Urges Saudi Arabia to Accept Yemeni Truce Offer

Mousavi

In remarks on Sunday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi expressed Tehran’s stance on a proposal from Yemen’s National Salvation Government for a halt to the launch of missiles and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia in exchange for a halt to the Saudi attacks on Yemen.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the Yemeni National Salvation Government’s proposal and considers it to be in favor of establishment of stability and security in the region,” the spokesperson said.

“Although the proposal has been welcomed internationally, sadly, Saudi Arabia is still seeking to fan the flames and continues to bombard different parts of Yemen,” Mousavi deplored.

“We encourage the Saudi government to accept this offer, and we support any measure for the establishment of ceasefire and an end to the cruel war against the Yemeni nation, and regard this (truce offer) as an important step in restoring peace and stability in the region,” the spokesperson added.

On Friday, President of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat said the Houthi forces would end all attacks on Saudi Arabia provided that the kingdom and its allies ended their attacks on Yemen.

He also hoped that “the gesture would be answered by a stronger gesture” from the Saudis.
The Houthi proposal came a week after Yemeni strikes on Saudi Arabia’s oil installations, which knocked out half of the kingdom’s production.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Yemen Provides Details of Large Operation against Saudis

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree provided details of the Yemeni operation, codenamed God’s Victory, which destroyed several Saudi-led brigades and marked the largest operation by Ansarullah over the past five years.

Almasirah TV quoted the general as saying that the operation had begun on August 15 in various directions at the battlefield in Najran, southwest of Saudi Arabia, and involved various units of the Yemeni Armed Forces who launched “surprise” attacks on the enemy.

Yemen Provides Details of Large Operation against SaudisHe said the Yemeni infiltrators among the enemy forces played a major role in the operation.

Saree noted that the Yemeni forces launched 9 missile attacks during the first phase of the operation to hit the enemy’s military bases and airports, adding that the Yemeni Army’s drone unit also carried out more than 20 operations, one of which targeted a sensitive military center in Riyadh.

Yemen Provides Details of Large Operation against SaudisAccording to the general, the Yemeni Air Defense has forced the Apache helicopters and the fighter jets from the Saudi-led military coalition to leave the operation zone.

During the first phase of the operation, 350 square kilometers of lands were liberated in the area, including a number of military bases, Saree noted, saying more than 500 hostile forces have been killed or wounded in the attacks.

He said three brigades of the Saudi-led coalition were destroyed in the operation, while their weaponry and equipment have been seized as the spoils of victory.

More than 200 hostile forces killed in the operation have lost their lives when fleeing or surrendering themselves amid the aerial attacks by the Saudi-led coalition’s warplanes, he added, noting that the Yemeni forces provided first aid to the enemy’s injured fighters.

The Saudi-led coalition’s fighter jets were trying to prevent their own forces from retreating on the ground and committed “genocide” against the Saudi-sponsored mercenaries by intensifying the airstrikes, the Yemeni general explained.

He further added that more than 2,000 forces of the enemy have been captured in the operation, expressing regret that there are children among the prisoners.

Saree said the enemy had recruited the Yemeni children for fighting wars in various fronts, such as Jizan, Asir and Najran.

Highlighting the large number of light and heavy weapons as well as armored vehicles confiscated in the operation, the spokesman said 15 other armored vehicles of the enemy have been destroyed in the operation.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement.

The US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, estimates that the war has claimed more than 91,000 lives over the past four and a half years.

The war has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories. The UN says over 24 million Yemenis are in dire need of humanitarian aid, including 10 million suffering from extreme levels of hunger.

Ranger Portrays Pristine Nature of Golestan National Park

Golestan National Park, or Golestan Forest, is a protected area in northeastern Iran, located in the east of Golestan and the west of North Khorasan provinces.

With a biodiversity greater than that of some European countries, Golestan Forest is undoubtedly Iran’s most valuable area in terms of both quantity and diversity of flora and fauna. Golestan province is named after this region.

It is the oldest registered national park of Iran; a unique wildlife sanctuary that accommodates 1,350 plant species and 302 animal species, including half of Iran’s mammals, in an area of 900 square kilometres; therefore, it has been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list as a biosphere reserve.

Golestan National Park is one of the best habitats for large mammals such as leopard, brown bear, wolf, lynx, red deer, roe deer, wild sheep, wild goat, Persian deer and boar. The area is especially known for its large population of Urial.

The valuable forest and its wildlife needs to be protected against hunters and wood smugglers. This is what the rangers do, even though their occupation isn’t well known to the public.

If we ask our children about the job they want to have in the future, they are less likely to choose to become ranger.

The same is true for adults. Although many of us love travelling through nature and the environment around us, we know little about rangers and their job; an occupation that, although provides the opportunity to live and travel in nature, is full of difficulties that only passionate environmentalists are eager to face.

What follows are Mehr News Agency’s interesting photos of Golestan National Park taken by Haddadi, a man who has devoted his life to protecting Golestan wildlife:

US Will Deprive Iranians of Water and Oxygen If It Can: DM

Cartoon the re-imposition of US sanctions against Iran by Shadi Ghanim / Retrieved from The National

“Today, the US strategy against us is maximum pressure, which means that Americans will deprive the Iranians of oxygen and water if they can, and that is not a slogan,” Brigadier General Amir Hatami said Sunday.

However, he added, Iran’s resistance forced the enemies to change their policy from Maximum Pressure to Maximum Begging.

Speaking at an event to commemorate the Sacred Defence Week, he further referred to Iran’s downing of an intrusive US Global Hawk drone, and said the move sent the message that any aggression will be strongly dealt with.

Hatami said targeting the US drone showed that the Islamic Republic is able to manufacture the defence equipment it needs.

He warned that the Islamic Republic will decisively respond to any act of aggression and in case of repeated aggression the enemies will receive a more decisive response.

Hatami said the only path forward to resist the enemy’s existential threats is reliance on domestic capabilities.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he also rejected the accusation that Tehran was behind recent drone strikes on Saudi Arabia’s Aramco oil facilities, which were claimed by Yemen’s Ansarullah forces.

The general said Riyadh thinks it will be spared the embarrassment if it blames the attacks on a stronger opponent.
