Trump Admin. Inflicted $150 Billion in Losses on Iran: Rouhani

Iran Policies to Remain Unchanged No Matter Who Becomes US President: Rouhani

Speaking in a meeting of the coronavirus headquarters on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani said the Americans inflicted at least $150 billion in losses on Iran from 2018 to 2020 with wrong, illegal, unwarranted and inhuman sanctions as well as terrorist operations.

“They even prevented the transfer of medications and treatment [facilities] and food to Iran, and we have never ever seen people with such savagery at the White House,” he said.

“They committed the greatest savagery in history, and the man who calls himself the US secretary of state, but, in fact, is the US secretary of crime, proudly says that he blocked some $70 billion of Iranian assets this year; that means, he takes pride in animosity with, and dealing a blow to the Iranian nation,” he noted.

The president also blasted Washington for its opposition to the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s offering $5 billion in loans to Iran in order to pay for medicines as well as medical and hospital equipment amid the coronavirus outbreak.

He said White House officials are to blame for all the crimes committed against, and all the pressure exerted on the Iranian nation.

“As you see, they are ratcheting up the pressure every day,” he said.

Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game

Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game 3

Simply put, maintenance refers to all the operations and processes involved in the upkeeping of a company’s assets for maximum business growth and the best return on investment (ROI).

The job of a maintenance manager requires impeccable managerial skills for a company’s sustainable growth. Poor maintenance management can result in the downfall of the company, like a chain of falling dominoes.

Significance of Maintenance Managers and Why They Are Important

Assets and infrastructure of the company are, essentially, the money-making machines of the organization.

The best performance of the assets like machinery, hardware, firmware, and more are highly dependent on the maintenance division, which is headed or overseen by a maintenance manager.

Therefore, you can say that the company’s sustainability largely depends on the skills and traits of the maintenance manager.

Given the competitiveness of the consumer world, maintenance managers should have many essential skills up their sleeves to be on top of the game for both the company’s business and professional growth.

Among many things, a maintenance manager job description includes;

  • Ensuring optimal uptime of machines
  • Keeping the company assets in good condition
  • Minimizing downtime
  • Reduce wastage of resources on the assets
  • Overseeing the maintenance teams
  • Reducing breakdowns of machinery
  • Set quality standards
  • Document all activities
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct repairs and preventive maintenance procedures
  • Disposing of equipment or parts that do not work or cost more to operate than what they can produce
  • Salvaging useful parts from non-working equipment

Below are seven skills that your maintenance manager should have to create a profoundly positive impact on the company’s growth and business model.

  1. Impeccable Leadership

As was quoted in the Spiderman movie, “With great power comes great responsibility.”

Ineffective managers boss around their subordinates while effective and high-performing managers lead their team.

Managers with good leadership skills take the team with them on the journey of completing a company project.

Effective leadership also involves taking up responsibilities and being accountable not only for your own actions but also for the actions of those under you.

Moreover, it is the leader’s responsibility to lift the team’s spirit and keep all the members of the team motivated to perform their job with great diligence.

  1. Effective Time Management

Time management skills are critical in any industry. Managers are often required to oversee the actions of tens and hundreds of employees in addition to attending meetings and other company proceedings.

There are only 24 hours in a day, and managers are expected to make the most of every second.

Moreover, managers are constantly bombarded with numerous text messages, calls, and emails, which only put the managers behind schedule.

Often, the best-performing managers credit their success to an effective Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) that helps them streamline and automate a large part of their workflow.

This helps the maintenance managers make time for what matters the most to the company.

They are expected to manage their time in a way that makes them efficient performers but also has enough time for family, friends, and recreation at zero expense of work hours.

  1. Ability to Teach and Train

Quite often, managers are highly experienced personnel in their respective fields. Therefore, they should teach and train those who are less experienced or new to the domain. Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game 1

Maintenance managers should be able to groom individuals and develop their staff as per the company’s or project’s requirements.

  1. Technical Knowledge and Expertise

Besides having strong interpersonal and managerial skills, maintenance managers should also have appreciable technical knowledge and expertise.

Often, managers are enrolled in a training program and are educated about the technicalities involved in maintenance manager jobs before they go onto the field.

This knowledge is critical as the managers would also be overseeing people who are purely into the technical aspect of a project.

Having some technical expertise will help managers quickly comprehend and troubleshoot the problem instead of being left in the dark.

Furthermore, maintenance managers should also know about finance and budget. The ability to analyze and interpret the financial aspects of the company will go a long way in making well-informed decisions.

  1. Organizational Skills

Maintenance managers should quickly and effortlessly organize their tasks by the order or deadlines and priorities. They should prioritize work in a way that aligns with the company’s agenda rather than their personal interests.

It is imperative to note that organizing the work and tasks is not only limited to the variable that involves just the maintenance team. The managers should also take into account the effects it would have on other departments of the company.

They have to constantly communicate and update other departments as well as their progress and decisions.

  1. Listening Skills

Ineffective managers are often clouded by a superiority complex that arises out of their experience. This makes it easier for them to turn a deaf ear to the opinions of those who work under them. Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game 2

An effective manager values the insights of every person in the team and includes their inputs into the final decision.

  1. Forward Thinking

Forward thinking ties together everything we have discussed so far. Managers should realize that they are working not just for their team but for the growth and success of the entire company.

Their ability to work inclusively as part of a company rather than only for the benefit of themselves or their team is critical for profound results.

Moreover, seeing the bigger picture also means that managers should be willing to constantly upskill themselves as per the changing times.

Forward thinking also extends to the ethics of the company. Maintenance managers cannot let their personal opinions or bias come in the way of company values and policies at any cost.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, a maintenance manager’s job is not a piece of cake. They are crucial to the benefit of the organization as a whole and carry some heavy responsibilities.

SaaS tools can alleviate many of the pains that maintenance managers face daily and help them stay on top of their game.

How Premises Liability Is Determined?

How Premises Liability Is Determined

Those who come onto the property must not suffer an injury or harm due to the negligence or carelessness of the owners. The responsibility of maintenance and security in the terminology of law is known as the premises liability.

Under the law of premises liability, the property owners and residents are held accountable for any mishaps or accidents that occur because of their property or on their property. These accidents could include a slip and fall because of an oil slick on someone’s driveway, falling on a public sidewalk, or getting injured in an amusement park ride and attaining serious injury or harm. The person injured can sue the property owner and may have a valid claim in the argument even if they acted in an unsafe way because the property owner will not be able to prove it unless they have surveillance cameras.

Furthermore, in this article, we will describe how premises liability is determined, especially depending on the condition of the property as well as the legal status of the visitor which includes actions taken by the owner and the visitor.

The Legal Status of Visitor

In different states, the legal status of the visitor is referred to as different labels. It is, however, linked with the property and is considered as if the visitor was an invitee, trespasser, social guest, or a licensee.

These labels determine whether the premises liability will be applied to an individual if injured or not.

The invitee is an individual who has been invited at the property of someone else, they could be either a customer or a worker. This implies that the owner of the property must foresee reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of other people at the premises.

A licensee is an individual who enters the property and is allowed especially by it’s the owner. The license indicates special permission to the individual. The person could be anyone such as a guest, visitor, or someone welcomed at an event on the premises.

At last, a trespasser is someone who enters the property of someone else without any right whatsoever. In that case of the trespasser and licensees, there is no validity that the security has been implied and reasonable care will be provided.

Condition of Property

In various states, many authorities consider the condition of the property as well as the activities conducted on them by the owner and visitor to get a clear picture of the scenario and accident. It is because they apply a uniform standard of care for all invitees and licensees to proffer them accurate security and safety. If they find out any faults in the property, they charge the owner for this misconduct for the inappropriate condition of the property.

Iran Berates Europe for Interference under Pretext of Rights Violations

Iran Berates Europe for Interference under Pretext of Rights Violations

Esmaeil Baqaei Hamaneh said some Western countries are using human rights as an excuse to reach their goals.

“Western countries’ approach toward human rights issues will only create discord and standoffs between countries and downgrade human rights to be used as a tool to achieve political objectives,” he said.

“Some European countries have turned the Human Rights Council into an arena to meddle in the affairs of developing nations,” the top diplomat added.

“It is regrettable that some countries preach about respecting human rights while they have forgotten the crimes that they have committed in the past and present, and they cover up the fact that a great part of the predicaments that others are facing is the fallout from their own colonial policies and domineering mentality,” he noted.

“The rule of law is a prerequisite to the protection of, and respect for human rights,” he said.

“Exerting pressure on other governments under the banner of human rights in order to change domestic legal systems or interfere in judicial cases is unacceptable,” he underlined.

“The best way to realize the objectives of the [Human Rights] Council is dialogue and cooperation based on the principle of neutrality and avoiding stigmatizing and stereotyping others,” the ambassador said.

Official Blasts EU for Joint Statement on Iran’s Human Rights Situation

No Change in Iran’s Borders as Karabakh Peace Deal Unfolds: Spokesman

“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the European Union’s move to issue a joint statement at the Human Rights Council to be unacceptable,” Khatibzadeh said on Friday.

Such a statement with a selective and baseless stance lacks validity and credibility, the Iranian official said, adding that the EU statement fundamentally runs counter to the approach to promotion of human rights.

Any abuse of the human rights mechanisms and interference in the internal affairs of Iran would be unacceptable, Khatibzadeh noted.

“’It’s not anything new that some European states are silent and indifferent in the face of the gravest violations of human rights by themselves and their allies. They are competing with each other for the sale of billions of dollars in arms to Saudi Arabia and the region’s despots for the massacre of defenceless people of Yemen,” he added.

“They (certain European states) describe the suppression of protestors, killing of black people, massacre of minorities, particularly the Muslims, the harassment and torture of prisoners and putting pressure on the migrants inside the EU borders as the enforcement of law, but at the same time call the judicial measures on the basis of the penal law made by the competent courts of the other countries a violation of human rights,” the Iranian spokesman stated.

“Such double standards show that this group of countries is not sincere in advocating human rights and reveals the political employment of such concept,” he said.

“The development and promotion of human rights at the national, regional and international levels within the framework of religious commitments and in compliance with the Constitution, the domestic law and the international treaties have been always among Iran’s priorities, and it has practically committed itself to observing them,” the spokesman added.

Khatibzadeh finally advised the European governments that seek to propose their intentions in the guise of the European Union to put on their agenda serious efforts to improve human rights among themselves and their regional allies.

Iran, Russia Refute US’ Bid to Reinstate Sanctions

Iran, Russia Refute US’ Bid to Reinstate Sanctions

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, who was accompanying Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a trip to Moscow, held a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov on Thursday.

In the meeting, the two diplomats emphasized that the United States’ attempts to re-impose the anti-Iran sanctions lifted by the UN Security Council are illegal.

Araqchi and Ryabkov also discussed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the efforts by the remaining parties to save and implement the agreement in full.

Iran Says Ready for Swap Deal with US on Prisoners with Dual Nationality

Iran Says Ready for Swap Deal with US on Prisoners with Dual Nationality

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sputnik on Thursday, the Iranian minister noted that at present Iran is not detaining any American prisoner with single citizenship.

Zarif made clear that Iran was not yet ready for direct negotiations with the US government and would be using other governments, such as the Swiss, “that wish to play a positive role in this regard”, as an intermediary.

He said the United States must compensate the damage that Iran suffered if it wants to return to the nuclear deal.

“The return of the United States to the nuclear deal is the first step that they should take. For this return, [the US] must compensate for damage that it caused to the Iranian nation, as well as for measures taken by the US to undermine the nuclear deal and promise to not do it again,” Zarif added.

The top diplomat noted that every country has a right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, but the West has double standards about different states’ nuclear programs.

“We believe that all of the countries have the right for a peaceful use of the nuclear energy, including [uranium] enrichment, and this right must be exercised in a transparent manner in line with regulations issued by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency).”

“The Western countries have double standards in this regard. If a similar control, which is carried out towards Iran, is introduced on other countries that want to have an advanced nuclear program, the international community will be in peace,” Zarif said, apparently referring to the Saudi and UAE bids to launch their own nuclear programs.

He further pointed to the move by Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates to normalize their relations with Israel, saying the two countries backstabbed Palestine by reaching the deals with Israel.

However, he added, the ceremony in the White House was not a big issue anyway, since Israel and the Arab nations have maintained contacts in the past 20 years.

“What happened in the White House was not a major development, but rather a photo opportunity that uncovered the relations that have existed for 15 or 20 years between the Arab countries along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf and the Zionist regime. These relations indicate that the slogans voiced by these countries in support of the Palestinian people are untrue, but are in actual fact a stab in the back for the Palestinian cause,” Zarif said.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed the belief that Israel’s relations with Bahrain and the UAE would “surely hurt peace in the region and the Middle East”, as they encouraged Israel to “oppress the aspirations and rights of the Palestinian people.”

“For this reason we have disputed these relations considering that they are at the expense of the region and its peoples,” Zarif added.

At the same time, the foreign minister noted that Iran was ready to improve relations with the neighbours.

“Iran’s relations with neighbouring countries are based on mutual respect, and the policy of the Islamic Republic is built on neighbouring policy, and so long as these countries wish to build good relations with Iran, these relations will remain ongoing. However, unfortunately, there are some states in the southern section of the Persian Gulf, such as the UAE, KSA [Kingdom of Saudi Arabia], and Bahrain, who do not wish to establish durable relations with Iran,” Zarif explained.

According to the foreign minister, should the Persian Gulf states at any time be ready to build good relations with Iran, Tehran will wish for that as well.

“Their relations with Israel are certainly a strong point in our relations, but they will not impede our relations with them either,” Zarif concluded.
