Iran executes six convicted of terrorism in Khuzestan province

The executions were carried out at dawn on Saturday after the Supreme Court upheld the death sentences, officials said.

The men were identified as members of a “separatist terrorist group” who had links with Israel.

According to the judiciary, the group was responsible for a series of armed attacks and explosions that targeted security forces and civilians in recent years.

The six were accused of involvement in the killings of several law enforcement officers. They also confessed to planting bombs, bombing a gas station in Khorramshahr, and attacking banks, military centers, and mosques.

Authorities said the network had received support from foreign entities and maintained direct contact with Israeli operatives.
Officials added that the group’s actions had repeatedly endangered public safety and disrupted stability in the southern province.

Iranian Quds Force cmdr.: Israel used chemical bombs to martyr Hezbollah leader

In a televised interview, Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani added that the attack was carried out with some of the heaviest bombs in the world, combined with chemical agents.

According to him, this was not only an explosion but a chemical assault, which he described as a war crime. Ghaani noted that Israel’s calls for a ceasefire show its inability to disarm Hezbollah through military means. “If the regime could do it by force, it would not ask for a ceasefire”, the Quds Force commander said.

He praised Nasrallah as “the tallest and strongest mountain of Lebanon”.
He also said the martyred leader of Hezbollah was seen by all Lebanese people, both Shia and non-Shia, as a refuge.

Despite Nasrallah’s martyrdom, Ghaani said, Hezbollah has entered one of its most powerful periods. Over the past year, the group has carried out targeted operations against Israeli settlements in northern occupied territories, showing that the loss of leaders has not weakened the resistance, he added.

Ghaani also recalled his meeting with Nasrallah on October 7, the day Hamas’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm began. He said he arrived in Lebanon in the afternoon and found Nasrallah already focused on his religious and strategic duties required by the unfolding events.

Ghaani noted that neither Hezbollah nor Hamas leaders were fully aware of the details of the Gaza operation in advance, calling it a sign of careful planning and secrecy.

Zamaninejad said their timely actions helped prevent higher casualties. He also noted that the likelihood of the death toll rising further is low.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by local authorities.
Road accidents are common in Iran, often attributed to poor road conditions, driver fatigue, or vehicle safety issues.

Bajelvand wins gold in World Para Athletics, secures Iran’s fourth title

On the seventh day of the 12th edition of the championships on Friday, Bajelvand competed in the F11 class discus throw and secured the title with a throw of 41.70 meters.

His compatriot, Mehdi Olad, also competed in the event but managed only one valid attempt of 35.96 meters, finishing in seventh place.

The achievement comes less than a year after Bajelvand earned a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, highlighting his steady rise on the international stage.

The gold medal adds to Iran’s growing success in the tournament. So far, Iran’s delegation has collected four gold medals, two silver, and three bronze. Gold medals were won by Amirhossein Alipour, Elham Salehi, and Saeed Afrooz, besides Bajelvand.

Silver medals went to Olad and Hajar Safarzadeh, while bronze medals were earned by Amanollah Papi, Salehi, and Zeinab Moradi.

Tehran Residents Rally Against Israeli Interception of Gaza-Bound ‘Sumoud’ Aid Convoy

The demonstration, titled “With Sumoud Until Israel’s Disgrace and Downfall,” was held at 11 a.m. in Tehran’s Enghelab (Revolution) Square, prior to Friday prayers.

Participants from various social groups and student organizations chanted anti-Israeli slogans, denouncing the latest atrocities committed by the occupying regime.

They strongly condemned the Israeli action against the Sumoud convoy — which was carrying popular aid for the besieged people of Gaza — describing it as a clear sign of Tel Aviv’s desperation and cruelty.

Protesters also highlighted the ongoing killing of Palestinian women and children, calling it a crime against humanity, and emphasized that the silence of international organizations in the face of such atrocities amounts to complicity.

Carrying Palestinian flags, demonstrators voiced strong opposition to the comprehensive blockade of Gaza and to Israel’s policy of starvation and economic pressure against the enclave.

They stressed that Palestinian resistance would continue and that free nations around the world would not allow the inhumane siege to persist.

Iran Slams G7 Statement on Reimposition of Security Council Sanctions on Tehran

Esmael baghaei

Esmail Baqaei considered the welcoming by the G7 member states of the unlawful and unfounded action by the three European States and the United States in seeking to restore terminated Security Council resolutions against Iran—through abuse of the JCPOA dispute settlement mechanism and without any legal or logical justification—as tantamount to their endorsement of an act in flagrant violation of international law.

He emphasized that such a position by the G7 cannot in any manner alter the fundamentally unlawful and unfounded nature of that action.

Baqaei recalled the military aggression of the Zionist regime against Iran in the midst of diplomatic negotiations, carried out in coordination and collaboration with the United States, and followed by America’s direct assault on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The Spokesman described the G7’s claim that “the three European States and the United States repeatedly, in good faith, offered diplomatic solutions to avert snapback and to reach a comprehensive and durable negotiated settlement” as a sheer falsehood and a perversion of reality.
He underlined that the United States, by reason of its unlawful and unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018 and its persistent violations of international law vis-à-vis Iran, as well as its obstruction of the JCPOA’s implementation, bears the primary responsibility for the current state of affairs.

He added that the three European States, by following the United States, defaulting on their commitments, and supporting the United States and the Zionist regime in military aggression against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, not only committed “substantial non-performance” of their JCPOA obligations, but also, with manifest bad faith, disregarded all of Iran’s initiatives and efforts in pursuit of diplomacy.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesman further characterized the G7 countries’ indifference to the nuclear arsenal of the genocidal Zionist regime as hypocritical, stressing that these seven states, by reason of their deceitful and irresponsible conduct regarding the rule of law and international peace and security, are utterly devoid of any moral authority to preach to others.

Iran Atomic Organization Says No Bank Accounts Frozen in Turkey

Responding to a question from Fars News Agency, Behrouz Kamalvandi — the IAEO’s spokesperson and deputy for legal affairs — rejected recent media claims regarding an alleged official announcement about the seizure of the organization’s assets and those of its affiliated companies in Turkey.

Kamalvandi expressed surprise over the reports attributed to Turkish authorities, stressing that such claims are untrue.

Some media outlets had earlier reported that, following the reimposition of previously terminated UN Security Council resolutions against Iran, the IAEO’s bank accounts in Turkey had been frozen and its assets seized by Turkish authorities.

Iran Firefighters

The blast occurred in a two-story educational building on North Kargar Street.

Jalal Maleki, spokesman for the Tehran Fire Department, said the explosion was triggered when a hydrogen cylinder being replaced inside a ground-floor laboratory suddenly blew up.

“The explosion was so powerful that windows, doors, and part of the internal wall were destroyed,” he said.

Maleki confirmed that a man died instantly at the scene, while a man and a woman sustained severe injuries.

Several others suffered lighter wounds from flying glass and debris.

“Fortunately, the incident did not lead to fire or secondary explosions. The situation is fully under control and firefighters are conducting safety operations,” he added.

According to officials, both seriously injured victims remain under medical care, while other minor injuries were treated on-site or at local hospitals.

Any miscalculation by Israel to be met with harsher response than ‘True Promise’ Operations: IRGC

It would be such a response that will be able to bring the fake Zionist regime closer to the promised hell, the IRGC announced in a statement, released Thursday on the occasion of the anniversary of Operation True Promise II, which was carried out in October 2024.

The statement is as follows:

(Today, October 2) is a reminder of the historic and enduring epic ‘Operation True Promise II, in which the Islamic Iran, in response to the (Israeli) assassination of the commanders and leaders of the resistance front, Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, Martyr Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Martyr Major General Abbas Nilforoushan of the IRGC, shattered the heart of the occupied territories with waves of missile fire and pinpoint drones, and collapsed the puppet hegemony of the Zionist regime.

This strategic operation, led and planned by Lieutenant General Mohammad Baqeri, “a symbol of military rationality and a designer of the balance of deterrence”, the courageous and inspiring command of Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, “the flag-bearer of the battlefield, the revolution’s power and the discourse of resistance”, and  the technical genius and offensive power of the distinguished General of the IRGC, Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, and the operational acumen and jihadi spirit of Major General Mahmoud Baqeri, showcased Iran’s missile power with its wonders to the Zionist enemy and its supporters, especially the criminal rulers of the White House.

These four renowned generals, accompanied by other brave and zealous commanders and warriors trained in the school of revolution and Wilayat Faqih (guardianship of the jurist), with empathy and coordination created an epic by despising the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime, an epic that caused the satisfaction, enthusiasm and proud joy of the Iranian nation, and also of the resistance front and those who seek justice and resist domination.

(Operation) True Promise II was not only a harsh punishment in response to the enemy’s act of aggression and crimes in the silence of the ineffectual world forums, but also a clear message to the world and the evil and wolfish Zionist regime that the era of costless threats has ended and any aggression will result in a regret-inducing response.

This operation, aimed at targeting the enemy’s strategic centers deep in the occupied territories, showed that the missile and drone power of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is the true support of national security and dignity, has penetrated every defensive shield, even the multi-layered defense systems of the Zionist regime, which is supported by the US and NATO, and destroyed and devastated its targets with astonishing precision, so that today, the Iron Dome and the arrow and flak systems of the child-killing (Israeli) regime lack credibility and effectiveness, despite the propaganda and psychological operations of the media empire and Zionism.

The IRGC honors the memory, names, and epics of the eternal commanders of the Lebanese resistance and the martyrs of the authority of the Islamic Iran, renews our commitment to the ideals of the Islamic civilization-building Revolution and its great and wise architect, Imam Khomeini (RA), and stresses following the wise guidelines of the great leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Imam Khamenei. We seize the opportunity and warn with complete firmness and determination that any new mistake and possible aggression from the enemy camp will have a heavier, more precise, and more deadly response than Operations True Promise; a response that will be able to bring the fake Zionist regime closer to the promised hell.

US-made Patriot systems can’t tackle Russian missiles: FT

According to officials interviewed by the FT, Russian missiles can now follow a normal arc before veering into a steep terminal dive or executing maneuvers that “confuse and avoid” Patriot interceptors. The outlet cited recent strikes against Ukrainian drone facilities as a strong indication that Russia has likely upgraded the Iskander-M mobile system and the air-launched Kinzhal.

One former Ukrainian official called the added maneuverability “a game changer for Russia,” the newspaper reported, adding that deliveries of US-supplied Patriot interceptors, essentially the only weapon in Ukraine’s arsenal capable of tackling Moscow’s ballistic missiles, are not coming as quickly as planned.

The paper also noted that data released by the Ukrainian Air Force shows that the rate of interception of Russian ballistic missiles improved over the summer, reaching 37% in August, but then fell to just 6% in September.

Ukraine shares data on Patriot battlefield performance with the Pentagon and weapons producers, according to the FT. Officials told the outlet that while efforts are being made to improve the Patriots’ performance, they often lag behind Moscow’s evolving tactics.

Ukraine’s Air Force flagged similar concerns in May. Spokesman Yury Ignat said that the ballistic trajectories of the Iskander-M missiles “have been improved and modernized” while the projectiles could fire off radar decoys. He also complained that Ukraine’s domestically designed air defenses are unable to shoot down most of the Russian missiles, while those produced in the West are used to cover key infrastructure and other high-priority targets.
