Iranian FM: Tehran against supplying weapons to warring parties in Ukraine

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has once again reiterated the Islamic Republic’s opposition to supply weapons to either side of the conflict in Ukraine.

In a meeting with Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski in the Iranian capital Tehran on Sunday evening, Amirabdollahian said, “Iran has not supplied any weapons to be used in the war in Ukraine, and the fundamental position of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to oppose arming the parties to the war with the aim of stopping it.”

The two sides also discussed bilateral ties between their countries in various political, economic, and cultural fields.

Amirabdollahian stressed there are no restrictions in promoting bilateral relations and using the existing capacities for the development of relations.

For his part, Jablonski highlighted Poland’s position on various bilateral, regional, and international issues.

Some media reports have recently claimed that Iran has provided Russia with drones for use in the Ukraine war.
