Video Shows Five Children Executing Prisoners in Syria

The blue-eyed white boy, identified in the video as Abu Abdullah al-Britani, is one of five children carrying out executions of Kurds in the city of Raqqa.
The boys, believed to be from Britain, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Uzbekistan, make statements in Arabic before raising their handguns and executing the kneeling men in front of them.

The child executioners, believed to be about 10 to 13 years old, are clad in camouflage gear and black gloves and their faces are clearly on display, Press TV reported.
One of the boys reportedly shouts in Arabic, “No one can save the Kurds even with the support of America, France, Britain, Germany, the devils in hell.”
They then place handguns to the backs of the prisoners’ heads and pull the trigger.
Children have regularly featured in ISIS propaganda in which the terrorist organization boasts about preparing the next generation of militants.
The terror organization released another gruesome video in July last year that showed executions of 25 Syrian soldiers at the hands of children.
About 50 British children are reportedly being groomed to become ISIS militants, according to the Quilliam Foundation, a London-based think tank which claims to challenge extremism in the UK.
British authorities say that at least 800 UK nationals have travelled to Syria and Iraq to fight alongside the terror groups operating in those countries.

Turkish PM Compares Erdogan to Ottoman Sultan

Turkey Erdogan and PM

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim made the comparison during the opening of a new bridge over the Bosphorus Strait between Europe and Asia in Istanbul on Friday.

Erdogan has “made cars pass beneath sea” as Mehmet the Conqueror carried ships over land, Yildirim said.

He was referring to the Ottoman ruler’s carrying of ships overland to avoid capture during his seizure of Constantinople in 1453 and inauguration under Erdogan in 2013 of a metro line passing beneath the Bosphorus Strait.

Yildirim’s comments came during the opening ceremony of the third bridge over the strait between Europe and Asia in Istanbul, which follows the tradition of the first one built in 1973 and the second in 1988.

Addressing the event, Erdogan himself said, “We are connecting continents with the bridge,” adding, “People die but their work remain immortal.”

“To attain the level of a civilized nation is not possible with words but with actions,” said Erdogan, who has dominated Turkey from 2003-2014 as premier and from 2014 as president.

Upon conquering Constantinople, Mehmet called himself “Caesar” of the Roman Empire on the ground that the city served as the empire’s seat and capital.

The Turkish head of state has been blamed by critics for harboring empire-building ambitions similar to the ones nurtured by the rulers of the Ottoman Era.

The bridge is named after the 16th century Ottoman Sultan Selim I, who conquered swathes of the Middle East during his eight-year rule in 1500s.

The sultan realized much of his conquests in the region after he vanquished the empire’s opponents in modern-day Syria in 1516.

Turkey invaded Syria on Wednesday to purportedly target Takfiri terrorists and Kurdish fighters on the anniversary of the historic battle.

During the inauguration of the bridge, Erdogan said Turkey will continue its operations inside Syria until all terrorist groups are eliminated.

Earlier this year, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said his Turkish counterpart represented the Ottomans who massacred Armenians a century ago.

He said the Turkish leader and his government were using the same tool as was used in the killing of Armenians against the Syrian people, referring to Ankara’s widely-reported support of militants.

Iran FM, Bolivia President Discuss Issues of Common Interest

Zarif and Bolivin President

During the meeting in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz on Friday, the two senior officials exchanged views about issues of common interest.

Zarif and Bolivia PresidentLater in the day, the Iranian foreign minister and his Bolivian counterpart, David Choquehuanca, attended the opening ceremony of the first trade and investment meeting of Iran and Bolivia.

Zarif delivered a speech at the biggest economic meeting between the two countries in the presence of nearly 200 businessmen and economic activists of the Iranian and Bolivian state and private sectors.

Following the Iranian minister’s speech, Choquehuanca awarded Bolivia’s highest state medal, Cóndor de los andes, to Zarif.

Meanwhile, Iran and Bolivia signed a document for cooperation in the space sector in the presence of the two foreign ministers.

Zarif kicked off his six-nation Latin American tour on Monday at the head of a high-ranking politico-economic delegation comprising 120 businessmen and financial executives from government and private sectors. The tour started off in Cuba where he met with Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez and the country’s President Raul Castro.

The Iranian foreign minister also paid visits to Nicaragua and Ecuador. He wrapped up his trip to Chile and arrived in Bolivia on Friday and will also visit Venezuela on the final leg of his tour.

The Bolivian president paid a visit to Tehran in November 2015 to attend the third summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). The fourth GECF summit is due in Bolivia in 2017. Morales also met with senior Iranian officials including Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Davoud Rashidi

Rashidi’s daughter, Leili, who is also an actress, said on Friday that the award-winning actor had succumbed to a cardiac arrest earlier in the day.

Rashidi had long been housebound suffering from the Alzheimer’s for several years before his demise in Tehran.

Born in 1933 in Tehran, the notable veteran artist had played starring roles in theatre, cinema and television productions.

He graduated with a degree in political science from the University of Geneva in 1960 and also attended the school of theatre in Geneva.

Rouhani’s Message on Rashidi’s Death

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed his condolences over Rashidi’s death.

The Iranian president expressed hope that the “perseverance and artistry of Davoud Rashidi in creating lasting works would set an example for the young artists of our country.”

Turkey Coup Opens New Chapter in Tehran-Ankara Ties: Turkish Official

Iran and Turkey flags

In a meeting with Iran’s outgoing Consul-General in Turkey Mohsen Mortezaeifar, İpek said that Iran and Turkey have lost golden opportunities in the past for enhancing their solidarity and cooperation.

He further stressed that the two neighbouring states should start a new era of collaboration, particularly after the recent failed coup attempt in Turkey, as reported by IRNA and translated by IFP.

“After the failed coup, the two countries should open a new chapter of bilateral ties, and unlike the past, they should develop new relations,” İpek went on to say.

Mortezaeifar, for his part, reminded the Turkish official of the stances held by Tehran during the coup attempt, and noted that such moves indicate Iran considers Turkey’s security as its own.

“Ties and cooperation between Iran and Turkey benefit Islam and Muslim countries,” he noted.

He also pointed to the recent meetings between Iranian and Turkish officials in Tehran and Ankara, and said, “These meetings demonstrate the firm resolve by both countries to enhance unity and solidarity in order to settle regional crises, especially the ongoing crisis in Syria.”

Iran eyes enhanced politico-economic ties with Chile: Zarif

“Simultaneous with the expansion of political relations, we are also interested in bolstering economic ties with Chile,” Zarif said in a meeting with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet in Santiago on Friday.

He added that a large economic delegation is accompanying him to discuss ways to improve economic cooperation with the South American country.

The Chilean president, for her part, expressed her country’s willingness to develop relations with Iran.

She added that Tehran and Santiago can exchange extensive experience they have in different sectors.

During his stay in Santiago, the top Iranian diplomat held separate talks with Chilean Foreign Minister Heraldo Munoz, president of Chamber of Deputies Osvaldo Andrade and a number of senators.

Among the Latin American countries, Iran has developed more advanced ties with Venezuela. In June, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said the Islamic Republic had agreed to a $500 million credit line for his country to finance joint investments there.

Iran is involved in a series of joint ventures worth several billion dollars in energy, agriculture, housing, and infrastructure sectors in Venezuela.

India Calls for Closer Cooperation with Iran in Anti-Terror Campaign

Modi

“Today, the most serious danger that threatens humanity is terrorism and extremism,” Modi said in a meeting with visiting Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani in New Delhi on Friday.

He further described Islam as “the religion of compassion and mercy”, and said Takfiri terrorists who are acting in the name of Islam have nothing to do with the religion.

The Indian premier went on to say that since 1400 years ago, no phenomenon has been able to harm the religion as Takfiri terrorism has done so.

Modi stressed the necessity to fight against ideological roots of Takfiri terrorism and said Iran-India cooperation in the fight against terrorism should be put on the agenda of the two countries.

Shamkhani, for his part, described Tehran-New Delhi relations as “historical and constructive”, saying that the relationship has never posed any threats to other countries and followed no approach other than helping to promote regional stability and security.

The Indian prime minister paid a visit to Iran back in May, when the two countries signed 12 memorandums of understanding to develop cooperation in various areas.

Modi also had a meeting with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, who said Iran and India can join hands in a genuine fight against terrorism, unlike what the West is doing.

In recent years, the Middle East region has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are anything but, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims, but mostly against Muslims in the region.

Zarif Rejects US Claim of Iran Arms Shipment to Yemen

Mohammad Javad Zarif

Mohammad Javad Zarif was reacting to comments by US Secretary of State John Kerry who accused Tehran on Thursday of transferring “missiles and other sophisticated weapons” to “rebels” in Yemen.

“By such statements, the US administration has implicated itself in the Saudi regime’s war crimes and inhumane and infanticidal atrocities against the innocent and oppressed Yemeni people. It should undoubtedly accept responsibility and be answerable for all the inhuman crimes,” Zarif said.

Kerry made the accusations during a visit to Saudi Arabia, which has been waging a brutal military campaign against Yemen for more than year.

The top US diplomat was in Jeddah where UN special envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed as well as representatives from Britain and Saudi Arabia’s Persian Gulf allies in the war had gathered to discuss the conflict.

“Mr. Kerry knows well better than anyone that the Saudi government has, over the past year and a half, been invariably and sternly frustrating all the efforts taken to bring about ceasefire in Yemen,” Zarif said.

In his remarks, Kerry said “the threat potentially posed by the shipment of missiles and other sophisticated weapons into Yemen from Iran extends well beyond Yemen and is not a threat just to Saudi Arabia and… the region.”

“It is a threat to the United States and it cannot continue,” he added.

Zarif also dismissed Kerry’s claims of Iranian threat to the region and the US, saying the Islamic Republic’s “military might poses no threat to any country and simply serves defensive purposes.”

“What threatens the region and the world today is the ideological, financial and political bases of Takfiri terrorism in the world, whose source and causes Mr. Kerry should know well.”

The Saudi military has been pounding Yemen since March 2015 to undermine Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to the former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Nearly 10,000 people, most of them civilians, have been killed in Riyadh’s military aggression which lacks any international mandate.

The US maintains strong military ties with Riyadh, which had Washington approve a USD-1.29-billion rearming program for the kingdom last November.

“Without a doubt, the US administration would further discredit its policies in the region through its support and ignorance and inattention to the facts on the ground,” said Zarif.

“It is high time the US administration learned from its glaring past mistakes in Syria and Iraq and open its eyes to realities,” he added.

On Thursday, the UN human rights office said the Saudi military is using cluster bombs against residential areas in Yemen in violation of international law, blaming the Riyadh regime for most of the civilian casualties in its impoverished southern neighbor.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) criticized the United States in May for selling cluster munitions to Saudi Arabia, saying the kingdom had used various types of US-made cluster munitions in its war against Yemen despite evidence of mounting civilian casualties.

Iran to Allow Russian Jets Fly from Airbase Again, If Necessary: Shamkhani

Shamkhani

In a recent interview with the RT Arabic, Shamkhani pointed to an operation against terrorists in Syria, in which Russian bomber jets used Nojeh Airbase in Iran’s western province of Hamedan for flying to Syria, saying that the operation has ended for now.

The strategic relations between Iran and Russia have not ended, but the military operation was naturally limited and finished, he said.

As this case of military cooperation between Iran and Russia has been based on the developments in Syria, the resumption of such cooperation in the future also hinges on the developments in the Arab country.

Eelier on Monday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi had said that Russian military jets’ use of the airbase has ended for the time being.

Qassemi noted that Tehran and Moscow had agreed to publicize such cooperation after the aerial operations.

On Saturday, Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said the Russian aircraft fly to the Iranian airbase to be either refueled or get reloaded, noting that they use the base for more effective operation against terrorist groups in Syria.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.

Meanwhile, Russia’s aerial support for the Syrian forces since September 2015 has given fresh impetus to the fight against the foreign-backed terrorists.

Iran has also remained a close ally of Syria and supports its legitimate government in the face of militancy.
