UK Intervention Not to Accelerate Zaghari’s Release: Iran Envoy

Hamid Baeidinejad

Urging UK officials not to increase sensitivity about the case, Hamid Baeidinejad, who was speaking to IRNA after he was summoned to the British Foreign Ministry over the case, said the UK’s interference in Iran’s internal affairs is unacceptable.

“Intervention by a country that Ms [Nazanin] Zaghari has been spying for is interference in Iran’s internal affairs,” he added.

“Such interference will not only not facilitate her release, but will increase negative sensitivity of the Iranian people and authorities towards the UK government’s policy,” he underlined.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe is serving a five-year jail sentence in Iran on charge of covert propaganda efforts against the Islamic Republic.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who claimed to be a charity worker affiliated with the London-based charity Thomson Reuters Foundation, was arrested in April 2016 just before taking the flight out of Iran.

Zaghari Enjoys Medical Care

On Monday, British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt summoned the Iranian ambassador to demand the dual national was given proper medical help.

The meeting came after Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s husband, Richard Ratcliffe, claimed his wife had begun a three-day hunger strike.

In response, Baeidinejad said Zaghari-Ratcliffe has access to medical facilities.

“Ms. Zaghari, as an Iranian national, has her rights in the prison and enjoys medical care,” he stressed.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s case drew considerable attention after former British foreign secretary Boris Johnson said in 2017 that she was training journalists in Iran, contradicting claim by the foundation that she was simply on holiday visiting relatives.

Two Important Contracts to Consider for Home-Based Retail Sales

Would you know what to do if you suddenly required the help of a full-time partner? How do you define intellectual property rights and what responsibilities do you have to your customers?

These are all very serious concerns and they should be made clear as soon as possible if you hope to avoid potential headaches in the future.

Let us look at two common types of contracts to consider if you are selling products online from home.

A Partnership Contract

Partnership contracts will help to avoid any disputes that may arise between different stakeholders of a product or service.  For instance, let’s imagine that your business has grown to the point that you now require a dedicated marketing specialist to work for you on a full-time basis.  How are you to define which party performs specific actions.  Who will be paid what amount of money at the end of a billing cycle?  Will you be able to resolve any disputes that might arise?  These are some of the main areas which are addressed through a partnership contract.  A handful of other stipulations that are generally contained can include:

– A breakdown of the decision-making process.

– Whether or not any individuals will be paid benefits as well as a standard salary.

– How to mediate a dispute in regards to marketing revenue.

– What to do in the event that one or more parties wishes to completely terminate the agreement.

The main takeaway point is that any type of contract is meant to be clear and straight to the point.  After all, the primary intention is to provide a greater level of transparency between all parties.  This is particularly important when referring to a partner.  The last thing you desire is for a conflict to suddenly arise while your business is enjoying success.  Having all concerns laid out with clarity and insight from the very beginning will help to avert a relationship that could suddenly turn sour.  Let’s also not fail to mention is that such a contract is legally binding if notarized.   Still, why is a non-disclosure agreement just as important and what is it meant to cover?

A Quick Look at Typical Non-Disclosure Agreements

Anyone who has even written content for someone else (such as a ghost-writer or a third-party blog publicity specialist) is likely to be aware of non-disclosure agreements.  Other referred to as an NDA, this type of contract is designed to provide a superior level of confidentiality and privacy.  Why might this prove useful within the world of online retail sales?  Here are three common situations which can be impacted if a non-disclosure agreement is not present:

– One or more parties could claim credit for a specific product or service.

– Marketing strategies may be leaked to a competitor or the general public.

– A former employee could use insider information to thwart your efforts in relation to your rivals.

If a non-disclosure agreement has not been signed, there is actually very little that you can do in terms of legal recourse. Even if you get lucky enough to file a civil complaint, the chances are high that your argument will not stand up in court.  Keep in mind that non-disclosure agreements will often differ from state to state in terms of their legal requirements, so be sure to perform a good amount of research in advance.

We should mention that typical non-disclosure agreements are rather general in terms of discrete products and services.  They are instead “evergreen” in the sense that they are applicable during numerous situations.  They can be used if you happen to require part-time help during the hectic sales challenges often associated during the holiday season.  A typical NDA is likewise very useful in the event that you require a part-time freelancer to create content for your e-commerce website when promoting a specific product.  These are two examples of why such contracts will come in very handy.

While there are times when you might require the help of a legal business expert to draw up such documentation, it is normally sufficient to create your own or to download an online template.  You can then fill in any details that are specific to your home-based retail operation.  In the event that the contract will be printed out and physically signed, it might be wise to head to your local notary to ensure that it is recognized as a formal agreement between two or more parties.  As always, perform additional online research to learn more.

Iran’s Payam Satellite Fails to Be Put in Orbit: Minister

Minister of Communications, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said in a tweet that the two stages of the process went successfully, but, at the third stage, the launcher failed to reach the necessary speed, preventing Payam satellite from reaching the orbit.

Jahromi further mentioned that another satellite is waiting to be placed in the orbit. He noted that Iranian youths will make efforts to resolve the faults and successfully launch another satellite.

Iran has said it plans to send two satellites, Payam and Doosti, into the orbit. Payam means “message” in Farsi, while Doosti means “friendship”.

Payam is the latest Iranian domestically-made satellite, equipped with cameras that can take images. The images can be used in weather forecast and agriculture.

Tehran Censures US Official’s Anti-Iran Statements

In a Monday statement, Iran’s spokesperson underlined that Washington should also realise this fact that the Islamic Republic attaches no significance to such threats and will not be coerced by them.

“The US officials imagine that through measures, which violate international law and the UN charter, can achieve their illegitimate goals that are destabilising the region and creating new tensions among the regional states, but the warmongers in Washington are unaware of this fact that the Islamic Republic will strongly go ahead with its principled and strategic approach and policy towards its neighbouring states by making peaceful exchanges and coexistence with them,” he said.

Qassemi then added that with prudence and intelligence, Iran will not allow the US official’s impossible and grudge-based dreams come true.

The spokesman then referred to the US-planned anti-Iran conference which is going to be held in the Polish capital Warsaw next month under the coverage of exploring the Middle East issues saying that “We believe the US does not seek any benevolent goals for the regional nations.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Qassemi said if the US really wants to show its good faith towards the regional nations, it only needs to revise its policies towards the region and stop adopting divisive approach and empty and unrealistic threats against them and prevent from contributing to the tensions and crises in the region.

Upon his arrival in Abu Dhabi on Friday, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said America’s withdrawal from Syria is merely a “tactical change” that will not change its military capacity to fight ISIS or Iran. The visit was made in the latest stop of his regional tour to reassure US allies of its commitment to the region.

Last month, US President Donald Trump said ISIS had been defeated in Syria and added he would pull the US forces out of the country. The announcement has surprised US regional allies. Meanwhile, the US officials have been playing down the speed of the withdrawal over the past weeks.

Iran, Iraq Discuss Regional IssuesLater on, Iraqi ex-PM and Secretary General of the country’s Dawa party Nouri al-Maliki has met Zarif at the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In the meeting, where deputy chairmen and chairmen of parliamentary factions were also present, the Iraqi parliament speaker pointed to the common history and interests of the two countries, hailing Iran’s role in assisting the Iraqi nation to defeat ISIS.

Halbusi also called for strengthening ties between the two countries in various fields, including economic ones.
