‘Maduro Should Recognise Yellow Vests as Legitimate French Gov’t’

shariatmadari

Chief of the Iranian daily Kayhan censured the French government stance that has given the legal Venezuelan president eight days to hold elections.

“The Venezuelan president has been elected in a free election while the supporters of a coup in the country have staged a rebellion against the legitimate government by the support of the US and Europe,” he added.

He called on Maduro to officially recognise the yellow vests movement, which enjoys the support of the majority of the public, as the official French government and call for early election in France.

“Maduro should give the French diplomats eight days to leave the country. The diplomats should be replaced by representatives of the yellow vest movement who have the support of most of the French people,” he stressed.

“Maduro should emphasise that the French election must be held under the supervision of international observers because some French experts have questioned Macron’s election,” he underlined.

Shariatmadari referred to the remakes made by French political expert Thierry Meyssan that has revealed the connection between French President Emmanuel Macron and Henry Kravis, the boss of one of the world’s largest financial companies and one of “the main suppliers for Daesh” terror group.

‘US Exit of Nuclear Deal Makes Tehran Hesitant Regarding FATF’

FATF’s Blacklisting of Iran; Threat or Opportunity?

“The US exit from JCPOA has etched a bad experience in all Iranians’ minds, and they do not want to see this happen again by the approval of the FATF bills,” Ahmad Bakhshayesh told Iran Diplomacy.

The JCPOA is the official name of the nuclear deal Iran signed with world powers in 2015. The US pulled out the historic deal in May 2018, in spite of international organisations’ and allies’ attesting to Iran’s compliance to the deal.

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), is a global body of wealthy nations meant to combat “money laundering” and “terrorism financing”.

Bakhshayesh said Iran should not approve all the bills set by the FATF at once.

“We should take a lesson from the JCPOA and not give many concessions to the West,” he noted.

The former lawmaker said Tehran should sign the FATF-related bills after the European countries, who have tried to persuade Iran to stay in the deal after the US withdrawal, first “implement their long-promised financial mechanism” to facilitate trade with Iran.

He said Iran should only join the FATF-related bills after it enjoys some benefits from the EU financial mechanism, known as the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).

The SPV is a kind of clearing house that could be used to help match Iranian oil and gas exports against purchases of EU goods in an effective barter arrangement circumventing US sanctions, based on global use of the dollar for oil sales.

Iran Calls on Europe to Pay Blood Money for WWl Casualties

Iran Will Definitely Change Approach to UAE: Top General

Speaking on Tuesday, Major General Mohammad Baqeri said Europeans who accuse Iran of violating human rights have caused committed crimes in the country.

“Today, [they] shamelessly talk about human rights and believe Iran is violating human rights standards, this is while Europe shamefully caused Iranians that catastrophe and unfortunately we said nothing,” he underlined.

General Baqeri was referring to the widespread famine in Iran during World War I, caused by the British presence in Iran.

“Europeans should make apologies and pay real blood money,” he added.

Iran in recent months has been lamenting that Europeans are dragging their feet in honouring pledges to protect Iran’s economic interests under the JCPOA.

Following the US withdrawal from the nuclear accord early May, Iran said it will not remain in the nuclear accord unless other members to the pact compensate for the US pullout.

The EU has vowed to create a special finance mechanism to protect Iran’s foreign trade as the US is working to damage Iran’s economic relations.

The mechanism was to become operational by the end of last year, but the EU has failed to do that so far.

Most papers highlighted Iran’s 0-3 defeat to Japan in semi-finals of 2019 AFC Asian Cup, which was followed by Iran coach Carlos Queiroz’s farewell to Iran’s national football team.

The presence of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in the parliament, where he expressed strong support for JCPOA in the face of opponent MPs angered by Europe’s delay in fulfiling promises, caught considerable attention in Iranian media.

Iran’s Deputy FM Discusses Cooperation With IAEA Chief

In a Monday meeting in Vienna, Araqchi explained the two sides’ cooperation on verifying implementation of JCPOA

Pointing to the complexity and difficulty of the current situation, Araqchi expressed hope the European Union would quickly fulfil its historic duty to protect JCPOA and compensate for the US withdrawal.

Otherwise, there would be no reason for Iran to continue fulfilling its nuclear deal obligations, he said.

Araqchi asked the IAEA director to deal with related issues professionally and neutrally and protect the independence of the agency against the pressure of destructive external forces, just like the past three years.

Amano expressed satisfaction over the current level of cooperation between the agency and Iran regarding the implementation of JCPOA, expressing hope that this level of cooperation could be continued.

Araqchi Meets Top Austrian Diplomat

Later on Monday, Araqchi also held talks with Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed issues related to bilateral relations, the latest conditions of SPV and efforts by European countries to protect JCPOA, and developments in the region, including Syria, Palestine, Lebanon and Yemen.

The deputy FM hailed Austria’s supportive positions on JCPOA, stressing the need for immediate implementation of the EU financial mechanism to let Iran benefit from economic cooperation.

Pointing to recent developments in the Middle East, Araqchi described the destructive policies of the Zionist regime as the main reason behind instability in the region.

For her part, the Austrian minister pointed to the importance of Tehran-Vienna relations, stressing the need for continuation of political consultations between the two countries to help boost peace and stability in the Middle East.

Team Melli Defeat Dashes Hopes of Wining AFC Asian Cup After 43 Years

Forward Yuya Osako opened the scoring for the Japanese team in the 56th minute.

He converted from the penalty spot 11 minutes later after VAR confirmed Iran defender Morteza Pouraliganji’s handball in the area.

Genki Haraguchi then scored in stoppage time to complete a rout which had been wholly unexpected after Japan’s unimpressive performances previously in the competition, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Iran has won the AFC Asian Cup three times so far in 1968, 1972 and 1976 but its triumph took place 43 years ago.

Japan Deserved to win

Carlos Queiroz, the former Real Madrid coach who has been in charge of Iran since 2011, came close to earning Iran its first title since 1976.

Speaking after the game, Queiroz said Japan deserved to book a place in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup final.

“The most important thing for me is to say I am so proud and this venture, this journey, of the Iranian players has been fantastic,” said Queiroz.

“They deserve to be in the final to be honest, but I think the most simple thing is to say, copying the famous song” ‘And now the end is here.’ And I’m very happy and very proud because I did it my way and it’s time to show my gratitude to the Iranian fans having coached these players and this team for eight years,” the Portuguese said.

“That moment created an emotional breakdown in my team and after that there was only one team on the pitch and that was Japan,” said Queiroz of the opening goal. “Just to say the best team won, the best team deserve to be in the final and congratulations to Japan.”

Japan’s Spirit Hailed

Japan coach Hajime Moriyasu hailed his team’s fighting spirit after the game.

“Iran had earned great results in the past and we knew the team is going to be a very tough opponent, but the players had prepared well and they showed great fighting spirit,” said Moriyasu, who also led Japan to the final of the Asian Games in Indonesia last summer.

“They didn’t forget to have the mindset of challengers and that gave us the win against Iran. The atmosphere was like an away game for us, but there were many Japanese supporters and many people back home supporting us too. I’m happy the players could show the spirit to fight and to deliver a good result,” he added.

“I don’t think we have changed compared to how we have played in the previous matches, but what our players did against Iran was, by respecting and knowing our opponent, they tried to perform to their best individually and as a team and play for the result,” said Moriyasu.

Japan will play for a record fifth Asian Cup title after reaching the final by defeating the Iranian national football team, also known as Team Melli.

The host United Arab Emirates and Qatar meet in the other semifinal on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi for a berth in Friday’s final.

Why Some Women do not Love Themselves?

Does the problem root in the demands of the men’s community? Or media propaganda, picture of superstars shared in cyberspace, lack of awareness of women about themselves, and lack of self-esteem has led to such a phenomenon?

Bodybuilding clubs and counseling clinics these days are full of women who go to these centres not to maintain their health, but to be loved. Women do sports not only to maintain their health, but also to become fit in the shortest time. They go to counseling and psychology clinics, not to lift their spirit, but to find a solution to be loved more by the opposite sex.

For more information on this issue, ISNA has conducted an interview with Dr Marjan Alighardashi that you can see here:

Q: It seems that women, who go to counseling clinics today, are looking for one thing: that is, to be loved through their body shape.

A:  Yes; I confirm it. One of the reasons is dissatisfaction with marital affairs. Ladies come and say that their husband is ill-affectionate, and the first point that comes to their mind is that their husbands are certainly not satisfied with their body. What we need to study is the feeling of a woman in a relationship. The important issue for women is to be selected, and they look for it in their appearance. This is what brings a lot of women to the counseling rooms. Many of these women have been deeply depressed after going on strange diets, and ultimately they fail in getting to their ideal body. This leads to a food disorder that causes them to starve. People with this disorder have a fear of being overweight.

Q: Don’t you think the reactions of men are the main reason for women’s fears about their organs?

Why Some Women do not Love Themselves?A: Yes; one reason women are so hardheartedly caring about surgical procedures is to respond to the demands of the men’s community. Men want women to be completely muscular, but to say that men are the only guilty party is simplistic. In my opinion, one of the main reasons of such thinking, are the superstars as none of them are willing to show defects in their bodies in their images. They want to emphasise they are perfect women, so they often use photoshop techniques. I remember that once Kim Kardashian was on the beach while a picture of her was taken abruptly. Instead of saying that like many other women her body is not perfect, she first began to express discomfort as to why her picture was published. Then, she began to argue that the light was not good, and she could not exercise for a while due to her busy time. She did not accept if there were any imperfections, it is normal. It should also be blamed on the media that retouch images of women. Virtual networks are also full of people who display their lifestyle while many are either athletes or models. A housewife or a female employee, for example, whose job is to sit eight hours behind a desk, compares herself to these people. Another issue is that the media set the standard of beauty for us. A standard that changes every now and then according to fashions.

Q: Do you think the standard definition of beauty is right? Do you think giving a definition of beauty is a right thing?

A: No, it’s not true at all. Every human has its own physics and the change in her physical state is limited. When we define the standard of beauty, we are talking about a human-made concept. Beauty standards are defined by the beauty firms that their models suffer starvation to reach the size of 32 or 34. This has been so catastrophic that the World Health Organization warned beauty companies that their sizes should be natural.

Q: How many of your clients do sports for health, and how many do exercise for being loved?

A: As far as I’m concerned, only 4% of them do sports for health. One of the problems of women in Iran is the clothing market. The market is full of Chinese clothes that are tailored to the body of the people of the East Asian region; so when an Iranian woman buys clothes, she needs to buy one or two more, and this is a horrific feeling for a woman.

Q: In your opinion how much the Iranian women love themselves?

A: Many Iranian women just think of being good for others. They only think of being a good wife, a good mother or a good child, this is, of course, due to the belief that sees women as a means for others’ satisfaction. Women do not think whether they are good people for themselves or not.  I propose to these women in Iran and elsewhere in the world, first, to work on their self-esteem. They must learn art or go for a new job. I ask them to stop being an idealist. They can match their expectations with their husbands and speak with them about their weaknesses and strengths. They’d better love themselves as they are.

Shipping Line Between India and Chabahar Port Established

Behrouz Aqaee, a senior shipping official in the Sistan and Baluchistan province, made the announcement in an interview with Tasnim News Agency on Sunday.

From now on, Aqaee said, Indian ships from three Indian ports of Mumbai, Kandla and Mundra will come to the Iranian port every 2 weeks.

Late 2018, India took over operations at the port, undertaking to develop the second phase of the project.

The first phase of the strategic port, located on the coast of the Gulf of Oman, was inaugurated late 2017.

The port is to play a big role in facilitating trade between regional states, particularly the land-locked Central Asian countries.

Japanese Firms Continue Purchasing Iranian Oil as Tokyo Says Crude Imports Untouched

The firm commenced loading 850,000 barrels of Iranian crude -200,000 barrels of Iranian Light and 650,000 barrels of Iranian Heavy – at Iran’s Kharg Island on Monday, sources told S&P Global Platts Monday.

The company joins other Japanese refiners who have continued importing oil from Iran, over two months after the US sanctions waiver was granted.

The cargo will arrive in Japan at the end of February, following its expected departure from Kharg Island on Tuesday, the source added.

A spokesman at parent Cosmo Energy Holdings declined to comment Monday.

Cosmo Oil’s commencement of Iranian crude oil loading comes after Japanese refiners Fuji Oil and Showa Shell – Japan’s main buyers of Iranian crude – fully loaded two ships with Iranian crude recently.

Japanese refiners resumed loading Iranian crude after major Japanese banks were set to resume Iranian oil transactions after receiving final regulatory clearance, paving the way for the country’s refiners to begin loadings as early as this month.

Also, Japanese refiners and shipping companies had recently resolved their concerns over relevant shipping insurance for Iranian imports, and were awaiting bank and regulatory approval before resuming inflows.

Japan did not import any crude from Iran in November. The country last recorded zero Iranian oil imports in July 2012 during the last international sanctions against Tehran.

Japan to Keep Up Buying Iran Oil

Meanwhile, the Japanese ambassador to Iran said the country’s oil imports from Iran will remain unchanged.

Speaking to Iran Daily this week, Mitsuo Saito said as a country with enormous oil and gas resources in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, Iran is a valuable source of energy to Japan which requires the country to meet its needs.

Tokyo attaches great importance to its relations with Tehran, and, thus, it held serious talks with the US to continue its oil imports from the Middle Eastern country, he noted.
