Iran says arrested Mossad team members

The Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FARAJA) announced on Saturday two Mossad agents were apprehended in Savojbolagh County in Alborz province, northwestern Iran.

With the efforts of the Alborz Provincial Police Intelligence Organization, two members of the Mossad terrorist team were arrested, FARAJA announced.

They were making bombs, explosives, booby traps, and electronic equipment in a team house, it added.

The terrorist Mossad agency is responsible for espionage activities and covert operations outside of Israeli borders.

Iranian security officials have repeatedly pointed out that Iranians remain vigilant against the Israeli enemy which has been making its utmost efforts to harm the Iranian nation in past decades.

On Friday morning, the Tel Aviv regime launched a new aggression against the Islamic Republic, this time resulting in the assassination of several top Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, in addition to killing many civilians, including women and children.

In response to the Israeli aggression, Iran launched extensive missile and drone strikes on the occupied Palestinian territories on Friday and Saturday, while acting in self-defense.

The Iranian strikes targeted military-industrial sites in cities such as the capital Tel Aviv, the occupied port city of Haifa, etc.

Zafarghandi said on Sunday that medical teams across the country have been actively treating the injured following the Israeli regime’s terrorist attacks that started early Friday on Tehran and several other cities.

“Most of the martyrs and the wounded in recent days were civilians, many of them women and children,” he said.

In the early hours of Friday, Israel launched unprovoked assaults against the Islamic Republic of Iran, assassinating high-ranking Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, which also martyred over 70 civilians, including women and children.

The Tel Aviv regime also carried out large-scale military aggression in multiple locations inside Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential buildings in Tehran and other cities.

Iran soon launched its retaliatory operation “True Promise III” against the Israeli regime by firing a barrage of missiles toward the occupied Palestinian territories on Friday night.

The operation began immediately after the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, delivered a televised message, saying that the “despicable” Israeli regime would be “rendered helpless” following reprisal by the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces.

In an X post on Saturday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei drew a contrast between Iran’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian values and Germany’s warmongering approach, advising the European country’s officials to “stay silent” on the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.

“History reminder: Germany ignited two world wars. Iran sheltered Jews fleeing Hitler – ask Polish/French refugees who got Iranian passports. Those perpetually on the wrong side of history best stay silent now,” he said.

The remarks came after German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul condemned Iran’s retaliatory operation against Israel and claimed that Iran’s nuclear program violates the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

In another X post on Saturday, the spokesman stated French President Emmanuel Macron has chosen to “spin” Tehran’s nuclear activities at a time when the Israeli regime is bombing homes and killing Iranians in cold blood.

“Shameful: Israel targets peaceful nuclear facilities, bombs homes, and kills Iranians in cold blood in blatant violation of international law. Yet Macron chooses *now* to spin Iran’s nuclear program. The hypocrisy is staggering,” he added.

Macron had alleged that Iran’s nuclear program was close to a critical stage.

Following the US greenlight, Israel waged a terrorist assault on Iran early Friday morning, killing dozens of people, including high-ranking Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

In response, Iran exercised its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. It launched waves of missile and drone strikes against the Zionist entity as part of its retaliatory operation “True Promise III”.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Israel has made a big mistake, the consequences of which will make it helpless.

Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces will act powerfully in support of the nation and will deliver heavy blows to the criminal regime.

Israel asked US to join it in striking Iran: Axios

Several above-ground facilities in Iran, including sites in Natanz and Esfahan, were destroyed in recent Israeli strikes, according to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi.

Israel described the operation as a preemptive move to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon – Iran has consistently denied that it has any intention to do so.

Grossi stated the Iranian government had also informed him that the Fordow enrichment plant near the city of Qom, a heavily fortified site built deep inside a mountain, was targeted, but there are no indications that the site sustained significant damage.

According to Axios, Israel lacks the bunker-busting bombs and long-range bomber aircraft required to destroy Fordow. The US, however, possesses both and operates forces within range of Iran.

Israeli officials reportedly believe that if Fordow remains operational after the operation ends, Tel Aviv’s mission to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program will have failed.

An Israeli official told Axios the US might participate in the campaign and stated President Donald Trump had indicated during a recent call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he would consider it “if necessary.” The White House has denied this claim.

A second American official confirmed that Israel had requested US involvement but said the Trump administration is not considering it.

Washington has reportedly distanced itself from the operation, while warning that even a limited strike could draw the US into the war. White House officials have argued that it would be illegitimate for Iran to retaliate against American forces.

A senior US official told the outlet that while the Israeli attacks could not be prevented, a peaceful resolution remains possible.

“We have the ability to negotiate a successful, peaceful resolution to this conflict if Iran is willing,” the source continued, adding, “The fastest way for Iran to accomplish peace is to give up its nuclear weapons program.”

Nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington began in April, with Trump warning of military consequences if diplomacy failed.

On Saturday, Tehran cancelled a sixth round of negotiations scheduled in Oman. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said talks would not resume until Israeli strikes come to an end.

“The Persian Gulf is an extremely sensitive and complex region. Any military escalation here could engulf not only the Middle East but the entire world,” he warned.

Araghchi presented “documented evidence” of American logistical and intelligence support for the Israeli strikes.
He said Iran had carefully monitored the situation and possessed multiple indications of U.S. involvement through regional bases.

“More importantly,” Araghchi added, “the US president has publicly admitted in tweets and interviews that these attacks would not have been possible without American equipment and that further operations are planned.”

Despite escalating tensions, Araghchi stressed that Iran does not seek broader conflict. “Our responses have been limited to Israeli territory and focused on military and, recently, economic targets in response to their escalation. We do not want a regional war, unless it is forced upon us.”

He reiterated that Iran would continue to defend itself with strength, stating: “If the aggression stops, so will our response.”

The foreign minister also ssid Israel is trying to sabotage nuclear negotiations over the years. “Every time we approached meaningful diplomatic progress, Israel interfered, through sabotage, assassinations, or military attacks. When we were negotiating in Vienna, they bombed the power system at Natanz, damaging several centrifuges.”

He noted that in response, Iran ramped up uranium enrichment to 60% and upgraded its centrifuge systems.

President Pezeshkian: Israel’s nature linked to crime, massacre

The president made the remarks in a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday, expressing gratitude to him for the call as well as his solidarity with the people and government of Iran.

“The Zionist regime once again showed that its nature is linked with crime and massacre, and it does not respect human rights and international law, and it assassinates ordinary people, scientists, officials, and military personnel wherever it can,” Pezeshkian stated.

Muslim nations can cooperate to ensure growth, development, as well as peace and tranquility in the region, stated the president, telling Erdogan that he, as one of the influential leaders in the region, can play a significant role in that regard.

Leaders of Islamic countries can cooperate to foil the Zionist regime’s plots, Pezeshkian further said.

Erdogan, for his part, expressed condolences and solidarity with the Iranian government and people over the martyrdom of a number of people in the Zionist regime’s attacks. He condemned the aggression, stating that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seeks to fuel tensions across the region and his actions are a clear violation of international law and regulations.

The Turkish president pointed to the timing of the Zionist regime’s attacks, which took place amid indirect talks between Iran and the United States, saying Turkey believes that Iran’s nuclear issue should be resolved only through diplomatic ways.

One of Israel’s goals behind attacks on Iran was to divert the public attention from the regime’s atrocities in Gaza, Erdogan added.

US had “nothing to do with attack on Iran”: Trump

UK, France, Germany offer to negotiate on Iran’s nuclear programme

“I hope that’s still possible,” Wadephul told German public broadcaster ARD.

“Germany together with France and Britain are ready. We’re offering Iran immediate negotiations about the nuclear programme, I hope [the offer] is accepted,” he added.

“This is also a key prerequisite for reaching a pacification of this conflict, that Iran presents no danger to the region, for the state of Israel or to Europe.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated it makes no sense to proceed with the indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the US amid Israeli attacks against the Islamic Republic.

In a telephone conversation with EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas on Saturday, Araqchi denounced the Israeli regime’s hostile attacks against Iran as a result of Washington’s direct supports for Tel Aviv.

The foreign minister said the continuation of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the US would be unjustifiable while the Zionist regime’s savagery is in progress.

Araqchi also called for the global condemnation of the Israeli acts of aggression, its violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites and residential areas that have resulted in the martyrdom of Iranian military officials, university professors, women and children.

The foreign minister then called on the European Union officials and the permanent members of the UN Security Council to condemn the Israeli regime’s acts of aggression against Iran.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has given a decisive response to the Zionist regime’s aggression in order to protect its national sovereignty, people and security, and is also determined to exercise its legitimate right to retaliatory action,” Araqchi added.

For her part, Kallas voiced deep concern about the escalation of tensions in the region, expressing the EU’s readiness to support diplomatic efforts by the UNSC and other international organizations to help relieve the tensions and restore regional peace and security.

Iran and the US have held five rounds of talks since April 12, mediated by Oman, with the purpose of reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions on Tehran.

While the next round of negotiations between Iran and the US was planned to be held in Muscat on June 15, the Israeli regime attacked a number of residential neighborhoods of Tehran as well as military and nuclear sites in other parts of Iran in the early hours of June 13.

During a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, Pezeshkian asserted that the belief that the Islamic Republic would yield to illogical demands and double standards under pressure, or negotiate while the Zionist regime continues its attacks, is a miscalculation.

The president highlighted that he assumed office with a commitment to national consensus in Iran and fostering international relations, yet noted that the Zionist regime assassinated Hamas’ political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran on his inaugural day.

Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, Pezeshkian reiterated that the Islamic Republic has no intention of acquiring nuclear weapons, as this is contrary to its religious principles and the decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. He stated that Iran has consistently sought understanding and agreements through dialogue. Unfortunately, he lamented, global powers have frequently opted to accept the misleading narratives propagated by the Zionist regime, which seeks to destabilize the region.

Pezeshkian further stated that while Iran does not seek war or bloodshed, it will respond decisively to any threats. He stressed that the Islamic Republic has always preferred to resolve issues through diplomatic means.

He pointed out that the United States has consistently indicated that the Zionist regime would not act aggressively without their coordination and approval. Therefore, it is evident that the current attacks on Iran are also conducted with the backing of the United States, which possesses the power to restrain this regime if it chooses to do so, he added.

IRGC says struck Israeli warplane fuel production and energy supply sites with missiles, drones

Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, the spokesperson for the IRGC, in a televised statement said as part of the ongoing offensive-combined operations under ‘True Promise III’ in response to new aggression by the Zionist regime, fuel production facilities for fighter jets and the regime’s energy supply centers were targeted with a large number of drones and missiles.

He further said the offensive operations of the Iranian armed forces will continue with “even greater force and scale” if the acts of aggression persist.

The IRGC spokesperson also announced that the IRGC aerospace defense system, operating under the unified command network and the joint air defense headquarters of the country, had “successfully intercepted and destroyed” three Israeli cruise missiles, ten drones, and dozens of hostile mini-drones in the affected regions.”

On Saturday night, the IRGC launched a fresh wave of missile and drone attacks against the Zionist entity, following the initial phase of the retaliatory operation “True Promise III” that began on Friday.

The latest stage of this large-scale military operation commenced around 11:45 a.m. local time on Saturday, with videos circulating on social media showing missiles hitting their targets.

This unprecedented retaliation is being conducted under the codename “Ya Ali ibn Abi Talib,” coinciding with the sacred occasion of Eid al-Ghadir that was observed on Saturday.

The main focus of this new round of ‘Operation True Promise III’ is the occupied port city of Haifa and its surroundings, which is home to several critical military and industrial facilities of the regime.

The strikes, according to Israeli media reports, targeted a series of strategic Israeli military and industrial sites, including oil refineries and electricity grids.

Images showed a massive blaze at the Haifa oil refinery, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky, with preliminary reports suggesting that the ensuing blaze is emitting toxic chemicals into the air.

Some regional media reports described Saturday night’s attack by the IRGC as the “largest missile attack” ever carried out by the Iranian armed forces against the occupied territories.
