King Abdullah II of Jordan said Tuesday that Arab nations are unified in their opposition to displacing Palestinians from Gaza, following a meeting with US President Trump in which Trump reiterated his plans for Palestinians to move elsewhere while the U.S. rebuilds Gaza.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi held talks with Syria’s de facto ruler Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus on Monday. It comes as regional leaders move to engage with the new administration following the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad two weeks ago.
The Islamist opposition party has topped Jordan’s parliamentary elections but fell short of securing a majority, according to official election results.
