According to IDRO’s official website, the MoU will help attract foreign finance for the construction of a 200-megawatt solar plant. The agreement is estimated to be worth €20 million ($23.5 million).

Officials say the plant’s photovoltaic panels will be able to generate over 300 gigawatt-hours of electricity per annum upon its completion. Founded in 1988, Znshine is a power station developer and operator.

It covers a wide range of business, including projects on investment and operation, EPC services and module manufacturing.

13 Iranian Artworks Put Up for Auction at Christie's London

All the previous 22 rounds of such an art auction was held in Dubai branch of Christie’s and this year marks the first time it is being organized in London, Honaronline reported.

The highest estimation in the collection belongs to two works: one from Iran and the other from Iraq.

The Iranian artwork with the highest price tag is a three-panel painting titled ‘Tiresia did not know much about the Future’ by painter and sculptor Bahman Mohasses (1931-2010) estimated at $262,000-327,500.

Mohasses’ oeuvre comprises paintings, sculptures, collages and felts (textile that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibers together).

An untitled oil on canvas painting by renowned Iranian poet and painter Sohrab Sepehri (1928-80) is to be sold at $91,700-117,900.

Sepehri is considered one of the five most famous Iranians to write modern poetry. As a painter, he explored various aspects of modernity in art. His paintings are usually sold at high prices in local and foreign auctions.

Heech Sculpture

A sculpture by acclaimed artist Parviz Tanavoli from his ‘Heech’ series titled ‘Standing Lovers’ is also among the lot; the piece is estimated to be sold between $28,820 and $36,680.

Tanavoli, 80, is an internationally recognized contemporary artist with a profound knowledge of Iranian history and culture. He is best known globally for his calligraphic work ‘Heech’, the Persian word for ‘zilch’, based on which he has made tens of various sculptures.

Two paintings by Farhad Moshiri will be presented at the event: ‘Floating Bowl’ and ‘I Am Full of a New Love’—an oil and acrylic on canvas painted in 2004.

Moshiri, 53, is a Tehran-based artist who studied fine arts at California Institute of the Arts. Drawing equally from eastern and western traditions, he is best known for his technically exquisite and conceptually rich paintings.

‘Heartbeat’, a special work by Monir Farmanfarmaian, a mirror, reverse-glass painting and plaster on panel, is also to go under the hammer.

Other Iranian artworks include an acrylic and ink painting on canvas named ‘ Peacock’ by Nasrollah Afjei, ‘Blue Miniature’ by Kourosh Shishegaran, ‘Bloody Hunt’ by Reza Derakhshani, ‘Sary Fe Azar’ by Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi, and ‘Burn it Down’ by Ali Banisadr.

Generally, the Iranian works have earned estimations above the average for the 57 artworks.

Christie’s, the world’s leading art business, holds around 350 auctions annually in over 80 categories, including all areas of fine and decorative arts, jewelry, photographs and collectibles.

It has a global presence in 46 countries, with 12 salerooms across the world, including in London, New York, Paris, Geneva, Milan, Amsterdam, Dubai, Zurich, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Mumbai.

Iran Foreign Ministry Submits Periodic Report on Nuclear Deal to Parliament

Iran Summons French Envoy over Macron’s Anti-Islam Stances

The report, which was submitted to the parliament on Monday, covers the implementation process of the accord, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), between July 17 and October 18, 2017.

The report, which has been split into three sections, deals with the obstacles and challenges facing the JCPOA’s implementation as well as the latest developments regarding the lifting of anti-Iran sanctions and the country’s nuclear activities.

Among other issues, it highlights US President Donald Trump’s refusal to certify Iran’s compliance with the terms of the accord on October 13, which came despite numerous reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirming Iran’s full commitment to its end of the deal, the report said.

The report terms Trump’s “decertification” of Iran’s compliance as a domestic American issue, adding, however, that it could negatively affect Washington’s commitments and the lifting of anti-Tehran sanctions.

Trump, already opposed to the Iran deal, was not able to unilaterally terminate the JCPOA and thus decided to leave decision-making on the deal to Congress, according to the report.

He gave the US Congress 60 days to decide whether to re-impose economic sanctions against Tehran that were lifted under the agreement in exchange for Iran applying certain limits to its nuclear program.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry further said any restoration of anti-Iran sanctions by Congress is a “gross violation” of the JCPOA on the part of the US.

The Iranian parliament and the committee monitoring the JCPOA’s implementation would be immediately briefed on any such violation so they could come up with a “proper decision.”

Trump’s refusal to certify Iran’s compliance “disregards the viewpoints of the righteous international body [IAEA], breaches Articles 26, 27 and 28 of the JCPOA and contradicts the principle of good will concerning honoring commitments,” the report said.

Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council – the United States, France, Britain, Russia and China – plus Germany signed the JCPOA on July 14, 2015 and started implementing it on January 16, 2016.

Several newspapers today highlighted President Hassan Rouhani’s address to a ceremony held in Tehran to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s son. In his address, Rouhani underlined the need for unity and refraining from undermining people’s hope. Newspapers also covered his remarks about Iran’s defensive power, which is not at all negotiable.

A decrease in the value of Iran’s rial to the US dollar and the Iranian officials’ remarks about their efforts to support the national currency also received great coverage in economic newspapers.

Iran’s Economuseum Turns into Major Tourist Attraction

Iran’s Economuseum Turns into Major Tourist Attraction1

A historical school in the southeastern Iranian city of Kerman has been restored and renovated, and renamed as “Economuseum.” It is a place where visitors can get familiar with different traditional professions in the city.

To begin with, the Great Bazaar of Kerman has numerous attractions. Anyone who enters the market can spend hours visiting the historical monuments there, including old small workshops. Elderly men have still kept alive ancient, and probably forgotten professions in the province.

According to a Farsi report by Mehr News Agency, one of the ancient monuments in the main passageway of the bazaar was recently restored.

Visitors can now see for themselves the traditional professions of the people of Kerman there. Each chamber is dedicated to a certain art and industry. Pottery, carpet weaving, rug weaving, and a symbolic decorated room which suggests Kermanis decorate the rooms in their homes. A public path at the monument is going to be retrofitted and brought into service, too. This place is known as the Lady Bibijan School. The building was opened to public in 2015 as the Econonomuseum of Professions, hosting visitors and tourists.

The historical building constructed in 1888 was first used as a joint Iran-UK bank. Later on, after the bank was transferred to the British consulate, the building was renovated in 1933 to be used by students. In 1941, it was named after lady “Bibi Hayati,” and used as a school until 1977. Then it was abandoned and became defunct. And several years ago, it was restored and turned into a museum.

Iraq, Syria, Lebanon’s Hezbollah Receiving Civil Defence Training from Iran

Head of the Iranian Passive Defence Organization Brigadier General Gholam-Reza Jalali

Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Tehran on Monday, Brigadier General Jalali highlighted the Civil Defence Organization’s cooperation with foreign countries, saying the organization has interacted with some countries and shared its experiences with them.

“We have provided Syria, Iraq and even Hezbollah with training assistance…,” he said, adding that the organization is prepared to give the countries more training in civil defence at their request.

Iraq and Syria have been gripped by insurgency with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of their territories.

In the meantime, Iran has remained a close ally of the countries and supports their legitimate governments in the face of foreign-backed militancy.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the official referred to foreign threats against Iran and said that given the new strategy of the US, Iran faces a new type of compound intelligent threats.

While the US rhetoric of military action against Iran has become a boring story for Iranians, the Islamic Republic’s officials have made it clear that the country’s Armed Forces are ready to give a crushing response to any act of aggression.

They have also stressed the need for maintaining preparedness in the face of all threats.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on various occasions emphasized the necessity for incessant progress of the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of political developments.
