Iran President Blasts Certain Muslim States for Close Ties with Israel

Iran President Blasts Certain Muslim States for Close Ties with IsraelIn an address to the opening ceremony of the 31st Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, Rouhani said a bitter point in the Muslim world today is that certain Muslim states in the region overtly declare their close ties with the Israeli regime.

“This [overt relation] used to be very ominous and unpleasant in the past, and some of these countries did not dare to declare Israel as their friend even if they had close ties with Tel Aviv,” he added.

Rouhani went on to say the arrogant powers along with the Zionists are seeking to drive a wedge among regional nations, ethnicities, and religions through hatching up new plots.

“Shiites and Sunnis have no differences with each other because they are taking step in the same direction,” Rouhani was quoted as saying in a Farsi report by his official website.

He added the Shiite and Sunni groups have fought against their joint enemies in the history and their unity is deeply rooted in the holy Quran.

The Iranian president stressed that fight against terrorism should keep going on in all fronts till the full eradication of terrorist groups in the region.

Iran President Blasts Certain Muslim States for Close Ties with Israel“Those who stood against ISIS delivered a huge service to the region and the world but instead of paying tribute, world powers and some of their regional allies are seeking to hatch new plots against them.”

Elsewhere in his statements, Rouhani said it is no longer any secret which states created and sponsored terrorist groups in the region. “But the very terrorists turned the point of their attacks towards their own sponsors.”

Rouhani also called for unity among the Islamic world saying the unity is not possible through extremism, violence and terrorism. He added the Islamic world should not allow the enemies to push it towards sectarian war.

“If it was not for the unity of the regional nations in fight against terrorism, Iraq and Syria would have collapsed so far.”

The Iranian president then urged the Islamic scholars to promote the true face of Islam across the world and added foreign powers kill innocent people in region, and boast of establishing human civilization.

Over 500 scholars, politicians from Islamic world including about 200 Iranians are taking part in the d 3-day conference in Tehran. During the conference, the scholars and politicians will discuss ways to confront challenges facing Muslim world during Islamic Unity Conference.

Calls for Dissolution of Iraqi Popular Forces Sign of New Plot: Iran

Calls for Dissolution of Iraqi Popular Forces Sign of New Plot: Iran

The fact that a Western country’s president echoes calls by the Israeli regime and emphasizes the disbanding of the volunteer pro-government forces, commonly known by their Arabic name as Hashd al-Sha’abi, shows a new plot is being hatched to bring insecurity and terrorism back to the region, Shamkhani said in a meeting with the head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq and the first deputy speaker of the country’s parliament, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, in Tehran on Monday.

He added that wisdom of the Iraqi officials, particularly the lawmakers, would thwart the enemies’ plots to undermine the country’s solidarity and national security, saying, “Certainly, such plots will be foiled.”

During a visit to Iraq on Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron called for a “gradual demilitarization” and the “dismantlement” of the PMU fighters and all militias in Iraq. His call was widely received with outrage and anger by many in Iraq.

Ahmad al-Assadi, one of the PMU’s leaders, was quoted by AFP as saying that “any such discussion is rejected and we do not accept interference in Iraqi affairs.”

Reacting to Macron’s call, Iraq’s vice president and former prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, said in a Facebook post that “Emmanuel Macron interfered unexpectedly in Iraq’s internal affairs by calling for the dismantling of a legal institution, Hashd al-Sha’abi.”

Hashd al-Sha’abi is a group of Shia and Sunni fighters that was formed after the emergence of Daesh in Iraq in 2014. In the early days of the Daesh terror campaign, the then volunteer fighters played a major role in reinforcing the Iraqi army, which had suffered heavy setbacks in the face of lightning advances by the terrorists.

The senior Iranian official also pointed to the collapse of Daesh Takfiri terrorists in Iraq and said resistance of the Iraqi people and acts of great bravery by the country’s army and security forces, particularly the PMU fighters, led to the collapse of the “biggest threat to the region.”

The United States and Israeli regime are creating and spearheading an important part of regional crises with the purpose of protecting the Tel Aviv regime’s security and selling more arms, Shamkhani added.

He emphasized that national unity and solidarity in Iraq would guarantee the country’s stability and security and serve the interests of all ethnic groups.

“Close cooperation among all countries victimized by terrorism in the region in order to counter terrorism on military, security and cultural fronts is an inevitable necessity and a deterrent factor preventing the re-emergence of terrorism,” Shamkhani pointed out.

Hamoudi, for his part, commended Iran’s great role in the fight against terrorist groups in Iraq and across the Middle East.

Iraq has managed to gain major victories despite economic and security problems, he said, adding that the country would continue this path in cooperation with its true allies.

Coup against Yemen’s Ansarullah Nipped in the Bud: IRGC

“We witnessed what a coup they wanted to mount against the warriors and Ansarullah in Yemen, but the plot was nipped in the bud,” General Jafari said in an address to a Tuesday ceremony in Tehran.

“Regional nations including Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Bahrain are being attacked because they have learned from Iran’s Islamic Revolution not to accept oppression and coercion,” he noted, according to a Farsi report by Fars News Agency.

“This is why the treasonous Al Saud, as a representative of the US and Israel, is playing an effective role in creating insecurity,” General Jafari added.

“Today, the Saudi traitors are unfortunately engaged in wars against other Muslim nations and seek insecurity in these countries.”

“Ordered and supported by the Americans, Saudis try to cause rift among Muslim people and are accompanying the Israelis,” he went on to say.

The IRGC commander’s comments came one day after Yemen’s ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed during clashes in capital Sana’a, according to a statement by the country’s Interior Ministry.

The statement did not mention how he was killed or who killed him. It just stated that “the crisis created by traitorous militants ended in death of their leader and a number of criminal elements.”

The ministry accused Saleh of creating “chaos” in the country, cooperating with “militias of aggression” and providing help to “extremist militias.”

The ministry added that the Yemeni forces, backed by fighters from the popular Ansarullah Houthi movement, were in full control of all positions previously held by Saleh’s militias in Sana’a.

“Turkey Vows to Pursue Slaying of Iranian Border Guard”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi says Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has, in a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is currently in Moscow, expressed condolences on the death of an Iranian border guard killed Monday afternoon in Maku border region.

The top Turkish diplomat said PKK terrorists were behind the incident, in which several other people were also injured, according to Qassemi.

Cavusoglu noted that Turkish authorities are following up on the issue and will inform Iranian officials of their findings accordingly, the spokesman added.

“The Turkish Interior Minister also assured Iran’s ambassador to Ankara that the issue is being followed up, and the results [of the investigation] will be announced,” said Qassemi.

“The exact reason behind the incident is under investigation by relevant authorities and the [Iranian] Foreign Ministry,” he said.

Qassemi noted that four people were injured in the incident, adding they were taken to Kars hospital by Turkish forces and received treatment.

“Official Objection Raised to US Gov’t for Murder of Iranian National”

“The objection was voiced during a meeting between the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Director General for Americas and the Swiss ambassador – whose country represents the US interests in Iran – and a formal note has been submitted to the US government,” said Qassemi in a Monday statement.

“In this note, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has objected to the violent and unacceptable US police shooting at Bijan Ghaisar, an unarmed Iranian citizen, who died as a result on Monday November 27, 2017, in McLean, Virginia.”

“We have called on the US government to provide a formal explanation and asked for clarification on the dimensions of this unfortunate and unlawful event. The note also urges the US government to prosecute the agents and compensate for the damages,” he added.

The spokesman further mentioned that the Swiss ambassador announced the matter will be immediately handed over to the responsible authorities in the US government, and the results will be reported to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Iran Raps NATO’s Irresponsibility in Fight against Narcotics

Larijani, who attended an international conference called “Lawmakers Against Drugs” in Moscow, told reporters that all countries must be sensitive in this regard. He emphasized that Iran has paid a lot of costs in this fight with about 4,000 martyrs and 13,000 who sustained injuries.

“But the important point is that NATO does not take any responsibility in Afghanistan, and we emphasize that Iran and Russia should follow this up. We also expect the United Nations to play its important role properly,” ICANA quoted Larijani in a Farsi report.

He added that at the conference the UN representative gave a report on drugs, but the issue is that the United Nations is not a study centre to describe issues, it must make decisions and get involved.

“In Afghanistan, drug production has increased 45-fold since 2001 reaching from 200 tonnes to 9,000. The number of laboratories has also increased in the country. It is unacceptable to say that NATO cannot cope with this situation in Afghanistan. The supply of narcotics is not carried by the asses, but their cars cross different countries and they are seen on the route. This is like the case of oil smuggling by ISIS in Syria under the nose of US agents.”

Iran, Russia Exchanging Intelligence on Illicit Drugs

Larijani also noted that the cooperation between Tehran and Moscow in the fight against drugs is in a right direction. He said intelligence officers are exchanged between the two countries, and this is particularly suited to tracing smugglers and hitting them.

“The cooperation between Iran and Russia in the fight against terrorism has made good progress too, and that ISIS suffered serious losses in Iraq and Syria, was partly related to Iran-Russia collaborations, and it will continue in other areas,” stated Larijani.

MPs from over 40 countries attended the event, which comprised a plenary conference meeting on December 4 morning, at which State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, the heads of the member states’ parliaments and the chairmen of relevant committees spoke. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova also attended the conference.

The conference was followed in three sections in the afternoon. The first one was devoted to the improvement of anti-drug laws and the second, to drug addiction and modern approaches to rehabilitation, while the third section will focus on the role of non-profit organizations in the war on drugs, according to TASS.

“Ex-President Saleh Killed in Zone Controlled by UAE Air Force”

Reports quote him as saying that UAE fighter jets, which belong to the Saudi coalition, carried out airstrikes on Ali Abdullah Saleh’s positions last night.

According to a Farsi report by Mehr News Agency, Al-Mayadeen has quoted the Yemeni official as saying that reports on the death of Mohammad Abdullah al-Qousi, the pro-Saleh Interior Minister, are not confirmed.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Interior Ministry has issued a statement confirming the death of Ali Abdullah Saleh, the country’s ousted president, during clashes in capital Sana’a.

“The Interior Ministry announces the end of the crisis of the treason militia and the killing of its leader and a number on his criminal partisans,” the statement reads.
“They killed a number of people, closed the roads, stirred up chaos, disturbed the peace and co-operated directly and indirectly with the aggressive countries [Saudi coalition]. They attempted to shut down the city’s entrances as the [Saudi coalition] jets kept bombarding to mount the attacks so as to carry out their plots and intensify civil war. This forced the Interior Ministry to act quickly to resolve the situation.”

The Yemeni Interior Ministry described this as a “victory” saying that the Interior Ministry thanks Almighty God for this decisive victory in the battle for freedom and independence.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Ansarullah Leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, has stated that by this (victory) Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Britain suffered a historic defeat.

“Today is a wonderful and great day. Today is the day in which the conspiracy collapsed. The plot against Yemen was defeated within 3 days and we congratulate the Yemeni people,” added al-Houthi.

Since November 29, armed clashes sparked by forces loyal to Saleh, have continued against Houthi forces that are at the forefront of a retaliatory war against the Saudi-led military coalition. Saleh loyalists accused the Houthi fighters of raiding their bases across Sana’a and beyond, an allegation that the Houthi leader has strongly denied.

Saleh stepped down following a 2011 uprising after being in power for 33 years. His resignation in 2012 paved the way for Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to assume power as Yemen’s president. Hadi, however, resigned in 2014 and fled the country to Saudi Arabia.
The Houthi movement assumed responsibility for running state affairs after Hadi’s escape threw Yemen into a state of uncertainty and threatened a total security breakdown in the country, where an al-Qaeda affiliate was present.

Later on, Saleh joined forces with the Houthis and the Yemeni army to defend the country against the brutal Saudi aggression, which started in March 2015.

On Saturday, however, Saleh officially announced the end of his alliance with Houthis, claiming that the movement had imposed hunger on the country and worked as an ally of Iran.

Iran Dismisses Kushner’s Baseless Allegations

In a Monday statement, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said if it was not for the recent attempts and sacrifices of the Islamic Republic of Iran to confront terrorist threats and extremism in the region, especially Iraq and Syria, the streets of the United States would now be witnessing terrorist and violent acts by extremist groups.

“For this reason, the international community should appreciate Iran’s principled and rational sacrifices and policies in standing against the extremist and terrorist currents in the region.”

Qassemi went on to say that connecting the Islamic Republic of Iran to aggression and extremism by the US president’s senior advisor is in fact a response that shows the anger, frustration and depression of US officials in the face of Iran’s efforts to confront terrorism.

Therefore, he added, they have resorted to lame excuses against Iran as their survival depends on creating a tense atmosphere against the Islamic Republic in the region.

“These allegations are made at a time that Iran enjoys good relations with its neighbours in the region,” noted the spokesman.

Kushner appeared Sunday at the Saban Forum, an annual meeting of American and Israeli leaders organized by the Brookings Institution.

At this forum, Kushner claimed that the Iranians, with “their nuclear ambitions and their expansive regional mischief,” along with the threat from the ISIS and extremist ideology could best be addressed after the distraction of the Israeli-Palestinian issue was resolved.

He also noted that there had been “significant” progress in uniting Middle East countries against what he claimed was “Iranian aggression”.
