Iranian Cargo Ship Sinks in Caspian Sea; Crew Saved by Azerbaijan

Iranian ship ‘Shabahang’, which was carrying a 900-ton cargo of tiles and ceramics, had left Iran’s northern port city of Anzali and was traveling to Russia’s Makhachkala when it sank in Azerbaijan’s territorial waters on Friday.

The ship sent a distress signal near the Azeri port of Lankaran after it was involved in an accident.

All crew members of the cargo ship, including 7 Iranian and 2 Indian sailors, have been rescued by Azerbaijan’s forces and transferred to capital Baku, Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Javad Jahangirzadeh said.

The envoy said the doomed ship had passed technical checks before the journey and received the required permission, noting that the authorities need to explain how the incident happened.

Saudi, Israel Top Child Killers of 2018, UN Chief Reports

According to a report by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in 2018, the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen killed or injured 729 children, nearly half the total child casualties of the year.

The UN chief’s report, which was presented to the Security Council on Friday, also states that Palestinian casualties caused by the Israeli regime, mainly its military, hit a four-year high in 2018.

The report shows that 59 Palestinian children were killed – 56 by Israeli forces – and another 2,756 were injured last year.

Guterres urged “Israel to immediately put in place preventive and protective measures to end the excessive use of force”.

“I condemn the increasing number of child casualties, which are often a result of attacks in densely populated areas and against civilian objects, including schools and hospitals,” Guterres said in the report, produced by UN Children and Armed Conflict envoy Virginia Gamba and issued in Guterres’ name.

The report does not subject those listed to action; however, it shames parties to conflicts in the hope of pushing them to stop killing children.

Diplomats say Saudi Arabia and Israel both have exerted pressure in recent years in a bid to stay off the list, but no to avail.

In reaction to the Friday report, Saudi Ambassador to the UN Abdadllah Al-Mouallimi claimed that “every child’s life is precious” to Riyadh, and questioned the sourcing and accuracy of the report, describing the numbers as “exaggerated.”

His claims come as over 80,000 Yemeni children under five years have died as a result of severe malnutrition caused by the Saudi-led coalition’s aggression against the people of Yemen, Guterres cited a report as saying earlier this year.

The war that  began in March 2015 has so far killed thousands of Yemeni women and children and destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure.

The Yemeni Health Ministry announced in a report on Friday that one Yemeni child is dying of malnutrition every 10 minutes. The report, cited by al-Mayadeen TV, said malnutrition has affected 2.3 million children in Yemen during the past five years.

It also pointed to the outbreak of cholera as a result of the Saudi-led coalition’s aggression, saying that children account for 40 percent of the 3,700 people diagnosed with the disease in the war-torn country.

Iran’s Beauties in Photos: Fashak Village

With a population of about 500, Fashak is located in a stepped mountainous area 20 kilometres to the northwest of Razmian county.

Fashak’s people live with simplicity away from the urban bustle, turning the pages of their lives’ book passionately, kindly, and optimistic about future despite the village’s limited living facilities.

The region’s specific features such as numerous fountains and dense forests allow the inhabitants to earn their living through animal husbandry and cultivation of crops including hazelnuts, cobbles, rice and walnuts.

Two Types of Rare Coral Spotted in Persian Gulf South of Iran

Researchers at Iran’s National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science found the coral in the Sambaroon region after conducting field studies there.

These types of coral called Pavona explanulata and Plesiastrea versipora were seen for the first time in that region. They were spotted at a depth of 6 to 8 metres on the surface of underwater rocks.

Two Types of Rare Coral Spotted in Persian Gulf South of IranSambaroon is the name of a region with underwater rock hills located between Kish and Hendurabi islands. It lies 10 kilometres from Kish and 7 kilometres form Hendurabi.

As Sambaroon is far from the two islands, the coral there not only remains roughly unaffected by human activity, but enjoys rather vast variety and relative health. Sambaroon can be regarded as a witness region to compare the effects of the bleaching phenomenon or natural and human contamination on the coral there with that at nearby islands.

Iran Acquires Technology for Building Airbag Control Units

The CEO of the Crouse Company, the largest car parts manufacturer in Iran, said on Thursday that his group had mastered the technology needed for production of ACUs after some four years of research and repeated tests.

Nader Sakha told the IRNA agency that the ACU is one of the main components needed to assemble airbag sets in Iran, saying that the Crouse Co. was ready for the commercial production of the unit in the near future.

Sakha said the company was seeking to fully master the technology needed for production of car airbags, adding that the parts-maker was cooperating with universities and companies in the Iranian defense sector to produce other airbag components, including the thread used to sew the inflatable bags and the crash sensors.

He said the mass production of ACUs in Iran would reduce the costs of imports for airbag items up to 35 percent.

The announcement comes as Iranian carmakers are carrying out serious reform programs to reduce their dependency on foreign companies amid sanctions that have affected their production lines.

It also comes weeks after the Iran Khodro Company (IKCO), where the Crouse group is a major shareholder, launched production for a car model belonging to Peugeot some three years after the French company left Iran and abandoned its joint venture with the IKCO citing fears from US sanctions.

The production of the Peugeot 301 came as the IKCO said it would master more than 80 percent of the technology and expertise needed for the production of the car in the near future.

Why Winter Markham Windows Replacement Makes Sense

However, it is no odd time to replace your windows as many homeowners think. One of the justifications why winter and spring are unpopular times for window replacement is because of the balmy weather experienced during this time. It can, hence, look too odd, imagining replacing windows in bone-cracking temperatures and falling snow.

There are some challenges that you might face if you choose to replace your windows during winter. The best thing is that every challenge has its solution. For instance, cold weather might get into your home during the replacement process. This is minimised by replacing one window at a time and closing the door of the room they are working on. Installers also spread tarps in order to protect flooring and the furniture. The process is not as hard as many assume. Here are reasons why you should too consider doing Markham windows replacement during the winter.

  1. The flexibility of the Installation Date.

This is one obvious reason why some homeowners decide to replace their windows and doors during the winter. Since most people choose to install their windows in summer, or spring, winter is less busy with window installation projects. That’s for real. The implication of this is that it is pretty easier to arrange window replacement date with your installer after purchasing the windows or doors. During the summer, you have to arrange for the installation date some months earlier and then wait for your turn since most windows installers are busy during this time. The reason is that the demand for window installation services is high, and you need to wait for your turn.

To solve this problem of waiting, opt for winter replacement of your windows, and you will be the one to decide the date you want to replace your windows. This is because you are not competing for space with anyone.

  1. You Can Identify Windows Problems Easier During the Winter.

During the winter, you can easily identify any problem with your windows. The cold weather in winter implies that it will be just a matter of days to find out if your windows have leaks or drafts that need to be taken care of. Some problems such as window leaks can be solved by simple actions such as weather-stripping and caulking, but you will need more permanent solution such as windows and doors replacement. After installing the new windows, you will realise there is a great change in both the energy efficiency, operation and curb appeal of your home. You will significantly reduce the cost of heating and cooling your home because of enhanced insulation, and this makes your home more comfortable to live than before.

  1. Deals and Promotions.

As we have said, during the winter, fewer people carry out Markham windows and doors installation. Since doors and windows replacement companies want to maintain their sales, they offer promotional deals to entice people to consider to buy and use their services. Human beings will take any opportunity that will save them some coins. So, these promotions attract many people to consider windows replacement even when it wasn’t something in their plans. On your side, you will be able to get windows cheaply, hence enjoy the advantages of replacing windows during the winter period.

Also, since demand is low, you have better bargaining power for both the windows and doors as well as for the installation services. Installers have to dance to your tune since at this period there are no most installation jobs, and most companies don’t have much to do. As the low of demand dictates, the cost is directly proportional to the demand.

  1. Your Project Will Be Handled by A Professional.

During this time, even the busiest window installers who deal with mega-projects don’t have much to do, and so when you approach them, they can work for you. During the summer these experts are always very busy on bigger projects and probability of you getting them is low, and if you manage to make an arrangement, you have to wait for so long on line.

Iran Releases 9 Indian Crew Members of UAE Ship

The India Times broke the news on Thursday, quoting official sources as saying.

Still 21 Indians are detained in Iran, three from MT Riyah and 18 others from the British-flagged oil tanker Stena Impero, which was seized by Iran on July 19, 2019, “over multiple offences by the vessel in violation of international maritime rules and the damages it inflicted on personal properties and Iranian nationals.”

Iran Releases 9 Indian Crew Members of UAE ShipThe Indian crew members of Stena Impero have been provided with consular access, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a Thursday statement.

According to a statement by the Foreign Ministry, “a representative of the Indian embassy in Tehran and officials with the Indian consulate general in Bandar Abbas visited the Indian crew of the British tanker after the permission was issued within the framework of consular access for foreign nationals.”

The Iranian Foreign Ministry added that consular meetings with other crew members of the oil tanker have also been arranged for the political and consular representatives of other countries whose nationals are in this vessel, and will soon be held.

The UK-flagged oil tanker Stena Impero is currently impounded in Bandar Abbas, and legal and judicial procedures are underway to deal with its offences, the statement added.

The British tanker collided with a small fishing boat on July 19, and badly injured its crew — some of whom remain in critical condition, Iran told the UN Security Council in a letter on Wednesday.

Afterwards, instead of responding to distress calls from the boat and radio communications from Iranian authorities, the British tanker turned off its transponder and “dangerously” changed course in the direction of incoming ships, the letter read.

That is when, according to the letter, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) intervened and took the ship and its crew into custody.

Tehran asserted in the letter that the seizure, which took place in accordance with international regulations, was necessary for protecting the safety and the order of maritime navigation at the Strait of Hormuz strategic choke point.

How Do I Write an Essay about Myself?

This seems embarrassing to some and intimidating to others. Even the best writers struggle with some questions. How do you start to write about yourself? If you brag a little, will it sound narcissistic? If you complain a lot, will you annoy the reader? And of course, what should and shouldn’t you include in your writing about yourself?

All of these questions trouble even the best writer in the class. Writing about a different topic or others is much simpler than writing about oneself. This is why we’ve created this guide to help you.

Introduce Yourself

Autobiographical writing must be recognized as such from the very beginning. If you don’t introduce yourself in the essay, the reader won’t really know whose story that is. If you don’t do it from the start, they might not get the same experience as they would knowing that the story is about the author himself.

In most cases, an autobiographical essay at school is assigned for academic purposes like enrollment in a program. In such cases, it is even more important to introduce yourself.

This doesn’t apply just to your name. In fact, if it is an application, the name will stand in it, so you may even omit it. However, what you need to introduce is who you are, what interests you have, what are your skills and talents, what your background is, and why you’re writing the essay in the first place.

If this seems like too much at first, make a list. With a list in front of you, you can find a better way to organize all that data, as well as eliminate the irrelevant. Your goal is to create an appealing, custom essay, which is why you must make it interesting, unique, and clear.

Be Humble

Even if you are the most accomplished student there is, you can’t just go bragging about everything. Some bragging is fine and actually expected, but if you come across as a braggy person, you’ll use the interest of the reader.

The most appreciated autobiographical essays are written in a humble, down-to-earth tone. List all your accomplishments that are focus on the topic you’ve chosen, but remain impartial as if you are speaking of someone else.

Choose a Story that’s Memorable

Many students make the mistake of speaking too broadly about themselves. Readers will want you to be specific. As with any other type of paper, you’ll also have to select one topic and stick to it. It is tempting to present all your accomplishments when you write about yourself, but if something doesn’t fit the topic, don’t use it.

A personal essay can only be successful if it is memorable and interesting. Its goal is to introduce you and explore a theme. This is why you need to offer the reader specific, unique, and real-life details about yourself, some that the reader will remember long after.

How Do I Write an Essay about Myself? The most commonly used themes for these types of essays include:

  • Overcoming an obstacle
  • A spectacular accomplishment
  • A big failure
  • Something that taught you an important lesson

Avoid Clichés

To skip the hard part and avoid making a mistake, students tend to copy the ideas and work of other students. This is how clichés occur.

When you write your personal essay, remember that the reader has to go through more than just one. Usually much more. This means that they’ll read at least a dozen similar essays, so try to make yours as unique as you can. More details always help with this matter.

If you’re having troubles with this and can’t come up with a unique way to approach the essay, you might want to get some online help. This paper writing service is quite affordable and their site has many free samples you can look at for inspiration.

Limit the Timeline

An essay that sums up an entire life or a huge chunk of it cannot be a success. This is why you must focus the essay and, to do so, you should limit the timeline. Choose a single occasion or a short period that was significant to you. Ideally, you should choose a timeline of a couple hours to a few days, no more.

Final Thoughts

Many students are excellent writers, but when they have to write about themselves, they instantly struggle with the writer’s block. This is common and happens to everyone, but with a little effort and some experience, you can learn how to share your stories, feelings, and insights in a memorable and humble way.

IRGC Chief Says Iran’s Enemies Retreating

Major General Hossein Salami (1)

“The enemy must continue to retreat as long as Iran’s legitimate demands are not recognized,” Major General Hossein Salami said in the southwestern city of Ahvaz on Thursday.

The same enemy that once claimed it would not let the export of “a single drop of Iranian oil” has now backed off in the wake of a failure, the top commander noted.

He also warned the foreign enemies against a harsh response to the attempts to taint Iran’s dignity, warning the “old hyena of colonialism” -the UK- that if it dares to defy the Iranian nation, the Islamic Republic’s naval forces will “take its ship out of four American and British warships” and bring it to the coast.

The IRGC captured British oil tanker “Stena Impero” at the Strait of Hormuz on July 19 for violating the international maritime law, saying even a Royal Navy’s frigate escorting the tanker failed to prevent the Iranian commandos from carrying the mission.

A letter to the UN Security Council said the UK oil tanker has had a crash with an Iranian fishing vessel at the Strait of Hormuz on July 19 and caused damages to the Iranian boat in a way that a number of its crew and fishermen are in a critical condition in hospital.

The British oil tanker ignored warnings from Iran after the accident, switched off its navigation systems, made a dangerous maneuver, and began to sail into the wrong way to flee the area before it was captured by the Iranian naval forces.

The IRGC says an escorting frigate from the UK Royal Navy stepped in as two helicopters scrambled to prevent the IRGC Navy’s commandos from carrying their mission.

Informed sources have said the UK oil tanker was also polluting the Persian Gulf water heavily by dumping crude oil residue.
