They also weighed plans for the promotion of cooperation between Iran and Germany over the Afghan issues.

Iran Says US Change of Tack to Benefit Region, World

Iran Says US Change of Tack to Benefit Region, World

Ali Rabiei, in comments on Saturday, reiterated that what matters to Iran is what approach the administration of the next US president adopts.

“The Supreme Leader said whoever becomes US president will have no bearing on our policies. Mr. Rouhani, too, echoed the same, saying who is elected as president in the United States is not important to us, but what is important is the approach that the US adopts,” said Rabiei.

“These remarks do not mean ignorance of potential differences in behaviour that different US presidents might exhibit; rather, the comments are a testament to the principles which have driven our foreign policy in recent years, especially after the eleventh [Iranian] administration took office,” he said.

“During all those years when the Trump administration, with personal selfishness and a nature of warmongering and spreading hatred and by bringing together the most anti-human group at the White House, and in defiance of the former US administration and prodded by a number of regional countries, chose to withdraw from the JCPOA and impose unilateral and illegal sanctions on our nation, we offered a very simple solution to this act of law breaking: Return to the JCPOA and comply with the commitments which not only the Obama administration, but the US government, as a legal and lasting entity, had undertaken to fulfill before the international community,” said the government spokesman.

“All of us knew that submission to Trump’s bullying would not only not make him retreat, but also jeopardize Iran’s long-term interests,” he noted.
“We also knew that such a policy would set a wicked precedent that might hold Iranians hostage to sanctions for the coming decades … and, in one sense, there would be no end to Trump’s illegitimate demands and Iran would turn into a humiliated and fragile society,” he said.

“From our point of view, the JCPOA’s raison d’être was to free the country’s national economy from being hostage to political games and the false crises associated with them, so that Iran’s domestic development would no longer be contingent upon ups and downs in foreign relations,” he said.

“Henceforth, one of the objectives of the JCPOA was to counter strategies adopted by the US, Zionists and some regional warmongers who wouldn’t like to see Iran’s growth and development,” he said.

“In fact, employing constructive foreign interaction not only prevented the United States’ bellicose policies and was a message of regional peace, but also set the stage for tapping into a global opportunity for economic development in our country with reliance on domestic potential,” said the spokesman.

He said the Iran nuclear deal not only protected national development, but served as a tool to stand up to the US bullying and unilateralism against Iranians.

He said the Trump administration pulled out of the JCPOA, and the next person who takes the rein at the White House can change tack and adopt an approach unlike that of Trump “who tried to associate his war on the JCPOA with Iranians’ livelihoods, health and welfare.”

“Today, the ‘maximum pressure’ policy’s days are numbered,” he noted.

“Unlike what Trump thought, not only did Iran not collapse, but experienced an oil-free economy through resistance,” he said.

He noted the US can return to the logical path by respecting Iranians’ right to enjoy welfare, health and security and distance itself from anti-human and warmongering policies that the White House has adopted today.

“Such a path will benefit world peace and security as well as people in the region as well,” he said.

Daily Rise in Iran's COVID-19 Cases at All-Time High

Iran Warns Armenia, Azerbaijan Not to Open Way for Terrorists’ Presence

Iran Warns Armenia, Azerbaijan Not to Open Way for Terrorists’ Presence

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said both the Azerbaijan Republic and Armenia should take care not to open the way for terrorists to “be present in this region.”

“Iran definitely will not tolerate the presence of Takfiri terrorists [near its borders],” said General Shekarchi, a senior spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces.

“The existence of the Zionist regime [of Israel]’s espionage bases is another important point,” he said.

“We will, by no means, allow the bases of this regime to be established near our borders or in the disputed region,” said the top general.

“These two points are very important to us, and both warring countries (the Azerbaijan Republic and Armenia) should seriously pay attention to this issue,” he emphasized.

He said the country which opens the way for the presence of terrorists and Zionists in this region will be responsible for the consequences of such presence, and Iran will firmly deal with these two “evil phenomena.”

Meanwhile, he stressed that Armenia should return the occupied territories of the Azerbaijan Republic, expressing hope the conflict between the two conflict will be resolved through dialogue.

Tehran’s Moqaddam Museum: A Qajar-Era Mansion with Exquisite Tilework

Tehran’s Moqaddam Museum 21

The edifice used to belong to Mohammad Taqi Khan Ehtesabolmolk, one of the members of the royal family of the time in the Qajar Dynasty.

Ehtesabolmolk had two sons, Hassan and Mohsen, who went to Europe to continue their studies.

Hassan was into literary, political and social activities and died young. He left behind a very well-known play titled “Jafar Khan Back Home from Europe.”

In 1939, Mohsen returned home after finishing his studies in the fields of Drawing, History of Art and Archaeology, and began to live in his father’s home, the current Moqaddam Museum, along with his French wife.

In addition to their scientific activities, the couple began to collect Iranian antiquities and cultural items. Moqaddam artistically fitted into the mansion many of the invaluable items that he collected, including tiles and cut stones, inspired by traditional and historical architecture. That is why the edifice has turned into a treasure trove of Iranian tilework.

The tilework at this mansion is a brilliant example of Iranian visual culture which is based on Persian classic literature, including “The Book of the Kings,” the magnum opus of renowned 10th-century Persian poet Ferdowsi.

Rouhani Urges New White House Ruler to End Economic Terrorism against Iran

President Hassan Rouhani made the comments on Saturday while expressing his gratitude to Iranians for standing up to the United States’ “economic terrorism” over the past three years.

“I hope the next US administration will take a lesson from this three-year experience, get to abide by law and regulations and return to all of its commitments, so that dear Iranian people will see and feel the reward for their patience and resistance,” said the president at a meeting of the National Coronavirus Headquarters.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the president stressed the need to observe social distancing rules and other restrictions to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

“It is right that it’s important to wear masks, but it is not enough, and social distancing and avoiding gatherings and the enforcement of other health protocols are as important,” he said.

“From November 10 to December 10, 2020, businesses will have to close at 6 pm,” he noted.

He added services should be offered online as much as possible as part of social distancing measures.

Meanwhile, President Rouhani noted that domestic production should remain on track, and people’s livelihoods should not be affected.
