Gate of Cyrus the Great Discovered Near Persepolis in Southern Iran

A joint Iranian-Italian archaeological team found the gate along with extensive documents in the ancient site during excavations from 2010 to 2020.

During previous archaeological excavations, several historical monuments with coated mud bricks bearing images of Iranian myths had been dug out. The finds are comparable to the ones discovered in Mesopotamia and Susa.

The newly discovered gate lies three kilometres northwest of the location of the throne of Cyrus the Great in Persepolis.

The gate used to be a structure almost 12 metres high, with a corridor at the centre which was, in fact, a rectangular room measuring 8 by 12 metres.

There used to be four seats inside the room. The central corridor led, on both sides, to the Achaemenid Paradise.

The gate was decorated with coloured bricks bearing different images of legendary animals and ideological symbols of Ancient Persia and Achaemenians, and settlers of Mesopotamia.
Stone inscriptions have also been discovered there.

Iran’s Revenge for US Killing of Soleimani ‘Close at Hand’: Judiciary Chief

Harsher Revenge Awaiting US for Gen. Soleimani Assassination: Iran

Ebrahim Raisi said some may think that criminals are unlikely to be punished, but they will soon face punishment.

He made the comments in a meeting with Head of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidan in Baghdad.

In the Tuesday meeting, the Iranian judiciary chief said relations between the people and governments of Iran and Iraq are almost unique and have their roots in the beliefs of both nations.

To the enemy’s dismay, he said, Iran-Iraq ties have been growing day by day.
“The two countries enjoy good political, economic, trade and cultural ties,” he said.
“Legal and judicial relations have their own requirements and can reach their special status in light of of Iraqi judicial officials’ attention,” he noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Raisi touched upon the issue of narco-trafficking.
“Iran is at the forefront of fighting drugs in the world,” he said.

“We are a victim of the drug trade and have given many lives in this path and paid a heavy price,” the judiciary chief said.

He explained that the key origin of illicit drugs and narco-traffickers is the lies in the West.
Raisi then described the revocation of visa requirements between the two countries as a positive move.

Iran Summons Belgian Envoy over Court Ruling against Its Diplomat

Iran's Foreign Ministry

The top Belgian diplomat was summoned by the director general for Western Europe affairs at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and received a strong written note of protest by Tehran over the court ruling.

In the Tuesday meeting, the Iranian official underlined that the Belgian court ruling was in breach of international law and amounted to a violation of Belgium’s commitments with regards to Iran.

Therefore, he added, Iran does not recognize the court verdict, whatsoever.
The Iranian foreign ministry official noted that the procedure whereb
y Assadi was tried, convicted and received a sentence runs counter to provisions of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and lacks legitimacy.
He said the proceedings have been influenced by a plot hatched by the MKO terrorist group in order to strain relations between Iran and Europe.

He added the judicial proceedings into the case and remarks made by some authorities clearly have smacks of the language used by the MKO terrorist group.
In the meeting, the Belgian government was asked to abide by human rights principles, end its actions regarding the Iranian diplomat immediately and release Assadi as soon as possible.

The top Belgian diplomat, in turn, said he will inform his government of Iran’s protest.

Allegations of Iran’s Role in Israel Embassy Blast ‘Ridiculous’: Analyst

“This [explosion] is a trailer. We can end your life, anytime, anywhere,” the letter read, according to the Times of India.

A group that identified itself as “Jaysh ul-Hind” later claimed responsibility for the explosion, but the Israeli propaganda machine used the note found at the scene to blame Iran for the explosion, citing the Islamic Republic’s thirst for revenge especially after the assassination of Fakhrizadeh, which Tehran blames on Israel.

Tel Aviv has every right to be worried about Iran’s revenge, as Iranian officials have repeatedly vowed to retaliate, but blaming Tehran for the New Delhi incident is really ridiculous.

The incident took place at a time when the Indians have just implemented part of their commitments with regard to their deal with Iran for development of Chabahar port. After installing two heavy mobile harbour cranes of over 100 tonnes, India is to install two more cranes in the coming months. This will increase Chabahar’s capacity for loading and unloading cargos to 20 million tonnes.

This is especially important because the installation of the harbour cranes is considered a major step to develop the strategic Iranian port as per a deal between Iran, India, and Afghanistan.

On the other hand, the Iranian defence minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, was going to visit India upon the invitation of his Indian counterpart shortly after the Israeli embassy explosion. The visit was meant to boost the two countries’ defence collaborations to a new level, which is definitely unfavourable for a number of regional countries.

Therefore, the Indian officials need to be vigilant, and not be deceived by the fuss made by the enemies of Iran-India relations. The suspects of New Delhi explosion should not be searched for in the note found near the scene, but in other places where people are worried about the development of Iran-India economic and defence collaborations.

Iran Officially Starts Its National COVID-19 Vaccination Drive

The first dose was administered in a ceremony attended by President Hassan Rouhani via videoconference.

The healthcare workers battling against the Coronavirus are the first group to receive the vaccine according to a priority plan prepared by the National Coronavirus Headquarters.

The vaccination campaign is to open a new chapter in the country’s battle against the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed nearly 59,000 people in Iran so far.

The country has ordered 2 million doses of the Russian vaccine, will import over 4 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from South Korea as part of the COVAX contributions, and is at the same time developing its homegrown vaccines, two of which are passing their clinical trials.

Iran’s Trade with Neighbouring Countries to Rise Two-Fold: VP

Es’haq Jahangiri said Iran should try to further expand its economic relations with neighbouring countries, especially in the economic domain.

He highlighted the importance of border provinces when it comes to foreign trade.
“Despite restrictions caused by sanctions, a major part of the exports and imports of people’s basic commodities were done through border provinces, and it became evident more than ever that border provinces are seen as great potential and a major privilege for the country,” he said.

“The Americans thought they can cut off the main economic lifeline of this country and make Iran’s economy collapse by imposing cruel sanctions and preventing oil sales,” the vice president said.

“But with reliance on domestic potentialities such as border provinces, the Americans’ dreams didn’t come true,” he said.

Nuclear Program Just ‘A Pretext’ Used by Enemies to Pressure Iran: Official

Ali-Akbar Salehi noted Iran has already achieved all the thresholds in nuclear industry, even though the country is not seeking nuclear weapons.

“The enemy does not believe that we are not seeking nukes, but they should know that we have all thresholds of nuclear power and we possess them,” he said.

“The US should know that Iran’s move forward on the path to developing peaceful nuclear energy will not stop and Iran will not forswear this right,” he said.

Salehi noted the nuclear issue is just a pretext by the enemy.

“Enemies have problems with the Islamic Establishment and our government, and nuclear power is just an excuse,” he said.

The AEOI chief said US President Joe Biden has said Iran should stop uranium enrichment, but Iran will not renounce its entitlement to peaceful nuclear work.

“If the US still thinks it can force Iran into submission by force and threats, it should know that it still does not know Iran well,” said Salehi.

He underlined US sanctions and restrictions made Iran more innovative and creative in meeting its needs and prodded Iran into moving faster to develop science and technology.

“They wanted to make our people hungry and ill by imposing sanctions on food and drugs, but now we are self-sufficient in producing foodstuffs and many drugs,” he noted.

Enemies Seeking to Disrupt Iran’s Security But to No Avail: Minister

Mahmoud Alavi said enjoys a high degree of security today.

“At a time when enemies are trying to disrupt the security of the country, the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys great security at this juncture,” the minister said.

He also touched upon the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran.

The intelligence minster said the occasion is marked differently this year as people are commemorating both the anniversary of the Revolution and their victory against cruel and inhumane sanctions that former US President Donald Trump imposed on Iranians in a bid to deal a blow to Iran’s Establishment and bring down the Islamic Republic system.

He then warned the European countries against using a language of force against Iran.

“Today, the European governments cannot speak with a language of force. By God’s grace and with the resistance of the [Iranian] nation and thanks to the wise guidelines of the Leader [of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei], all threats have been neutralized,” he said.

He said Iranian are marking the anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution at time when they are closer to the Establishment than ever.

“Our people are honouring the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the Revolution, and to the enemies’ dismay, people’s bonds with the Establishment are stronger than ever, and Iranian people will firmly keep moving on the path of the Revolution and in line with the ideals of the late Imam Khomeini,” he said.
