Iran Denies It Fired Missiles at US Flotilla in Persian Gulf

Brigadier General Alireza Tangsiri made the comment in response to reports by some foreign media that Iran had fired missiles at a US flotilla during military exercises by the Iranian military in the south of the country.

“The Americans are used to telling lies,” said General Tangsiri, the commander of the Navy of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

“The Americans are present in the region, but they are not in our waters, and we have the whole region on our intelligence radar,” he added.

“The vessels of the IRGC’s Navy monitored the [American] flotilla, and our aircraft monitor any foreign vessel that enters the region,” the top general noted.

“Our duty is to defend the waters of Islamic Iran, and we are present in the region with power and full intelligence capability,” he said.

He said the Iranian military is constantly keeping a close watch on threats and is fully prepared to counter any threat.

The top general underlined that Iran can establish full security in the Persian Gulf region in cooperation with neighbouring countries.

“The presence of foreign troops in the region disrupts security,” he noted.

His comments came after Western media claimed Iranian ships had fired rockets in waters navigated by the USS John C. Stennis and an Iranian drone flew near the American aircraft carrier strike group.

The reports said the missiles were fired at a distance from the American ships, and that Iranian sailors were sighted taking photographs and video of the vessels.

Iran Says No Ban on Mahan Air’s Flights to/from Germany

Reza Jafarzadeh, a spokesman for the Iranian Aviation Organization, on Sunday rejected a report by Bild newspaper that the German government had taken the decision to stop Mahan Air from operating its flights to Dusseldorf and Munich after intensive deliberations on US demands.

The Iranian official said Mahan’s flights to Germany are on schedule, and the organization has not received any report regarding such a ban.

A German government spokesman said he could not comment on the report in Bild, which said Mahan Air would be banned in January.

The US government has imposed sanctions on several companies for their links to Mahan Air, including a Thai aviation company and a Malaysia-based sales agent.

Germany and its European Union partners are at odds with the United States over policy toward Iran.

US President Donald Trump in May pulled out of a deal between Iran and major powers and reinstated sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

Mahan Air, which is not sanctioned by the European Union, currently operates flights to Milan, Athens, the German cities of Dusseldorf and Munich, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and several other destinations in the Middle East and Asia.

Iran Envoy to UK Rejects Talks with US over Yemen

In a tweet, Hamid Baeidinejad said that the report by the Kuwaiti daily al-Jarida was false.

The Iranian ambassador noted that some news outlets quoted the Kuwaiti media as claiming that some Iranian and US diplomats have secretly met in London, and that the Yemeni negotiations in Sweden have been the result of these meetings.

Baeidinejad stressed that “it is a sheer lie and is completely rejected.”

The Kuwaiti newspaper earlier claimed that after the Yemeni agreement in Sweden, a top European diplomatic source said the talks were the result of communications and secret meetings between Iranian and US authorities, with mediations from some European countries and Oman.

The source claimed that the visits were made at a hotel in London. It alleged that some Iranian and US diplomats had travelled to the British capital, London, with ordinary visas and held meetings in a very cautious manner in ordinary rooms of a hotel.

A truce was reached between Yemen’s Ansarullah and the Saudi-backed former government during UN-sponsored peace talks in Sweden last week. The deal is part of attempts to get the warring sides to sign a permanent ceasefire and hammer out a framework for future political negotiations.

New Bio-Implants Getting under Patients’ Skins

Implants are man-made and are used to replace physical organs of the body. Their outer surface, which is in contact with living tissue, is made by biological materials or materials resistant to the ionic environment of the body.

There are 45 different types of bio-implants. Various types of bio-implants, such as cardiovasculars, are used to repair diseases and injuries to various systems of the body, including the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, skin, eyes, brain, nerves and joints.

The epithelium type of bio-implant is used in skin transplants, burns, wounds, and surgeries of eye, ear, throat and nose.

New Bio-Implants Getting under Patients’ Skins

Metal implants used to treat bone fractures are commonly known as platinum. However, today they are made of stainless steel which is a combination of iron, chromium and nickel. Platinum as a very precious metal is not used in these implants.

Epithelium bio-implants are used in the treatment of burns, repair of diabetic wounds, repair of skin lesions after extraction of tumors, gum repair, plastic surgeries, bed sore, repair of skin lesions with ionizing radiations like lasers, breast cancer surgeries, repair of corneal ulcers, and chemical injuries.

The technology is currently used in the world for replacing body tissues in case of necessity. In Iran, the knowledge-based company Tissue Regeneration Corporation (TRC) has acquired the technology and is using the new method.

With the production of ocular bio-implants, a major step would be taken in the treatment of diseases, eye injuries, and the treatment of chronic ocular complications resulting from injuries.

The use of ocular bio-implants does not require anesthesia in eye surgery. Also, there is no need to stitch the eye. The absence of adverse effects of eye surgery, the absence of local bleeding, and reduction of the duration of eye treatment are among the other advantages of using these implants.

However, any implant in the body is considered an external object and can stimulate the body’s defence system. For this reason, the surface of these implants are made of materials that are not affected by the ionic environment of the body.

Some implants may be defective due to low and poor quality, but today, thanks to the advanced technologies in making bio-implants compatible with the body, the complications and problems of using them have been minimised.

Birthmark; Harmless Disorder That Can Be Cured

Birthmark refers to congenitally benign and non-cancerous macules. Birthmarks could become bolder or go pale gradually after birth. They have various types. We see them in various colours and structurally they are straight or curved.

Almost none of such congenital macules poses any serious threat to our health. If you and one of your family members have developed such a skin disorder, it’s better to visit a dermatologist to make sure about their latest conditions.

Genetic disorders during subcutaneous vascular development is usually diagnosed as the major cause of such diseases. The parents of a person, who has developed such disorders, may lack any similar symptom. Medically speaking, there is no connection necessarily between parents with such symptoms and their children’s macules.

Birthmark; Harmless Disorder That Can Be Cured

Since long time ago, people from various cultures and sericites enlisted a number of imaginary causes for the birthmark. Today, however, the scientific progress has refuted the superstitious hypotheses about them.

The disorders negatively affect our face, but other parts of our body is potentially prone to develop them.

Meanwhile, the disorder can even affect our lip and gum. If developed on face, the macules can gradually get thicker and larger. This, in turn, enlarges some bones of the face and makes teething to happen sooner in childhood. In some cases, the disorder can affect our hands and feet.

It goes without saying that local creams or medications are of no use and cannot remove the macules at all. Fortunately, new scientific developments have cherished hopes about removing the disorders forever.

Arthritis; Most Prevalent Pain in World

One of the most common symptoms of Osteoarthritis is eruption of awful pain in the affected joints. Other symptoms are swelling, decreased range of motion and stiffness.

Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis which comes after the breakdown of joint cartilage in one or more joints.

Cartilage is the glass-like protein serving as a guard among bones of each joint. Osteoarthritis is the most common one among over 100 types of arthritis.

Osteoarthritis usually comes with old age. Men and women develop Osteoarthritis respectively before 45 and 55. All races in the US equally suffer from the disorder. Japan has the highest number of people suffering from Osteoarthritis in the world. This comes as, compared with others, the black in South Africa, Indians and residents of southern China suffer less from the disorder. Osteoarthritis is usually recognized as degenerative joint disease.

Arthritis; Most Prevalent Pain in World

Osteoarthritis affects hands, feet, spinal cord as well as the joints bearing the total weight of body like knees and thighs. It has no known causes. The disorder is called First Osteoarthritis when its cause is not clear, but when the cause is clear (crash or disease), it is called secondary Osteoarthritis. Keeping weight at an appropriate level, doing exercise and good nutrition can prevent the disorder.

Among the main measures to stop rubbing of joints, one can refer to changing lifestyle, doing exercises, losing weight, using auxiliary equipment, keeping warm the painful areas and using anti-swelling and pain killers.

In case the pain does not ease with the above-mentioned treatments, the person should undergo a surgery. Today, relying on the progress made in the scientific area, most doctors seek to treat Osteoarthritis through stem cells injection.

India Continues to Buy Oil from Iran: Envoy

About the latest oil dealings between the two countries and creation of a channel for financial transactions, Saurabh Kumar said a rupee mechanism will be used for this purpose.

“India’s oil purchase from Iran has not been cut off to this day, and we have bought an average of 1.25 million tonnes per month which will certainly be continued,” noted the Indian envoy.

“We will work with UCO Bank for this and the mechanism will be developed within the next two weeks,” highlighted Saurabh Kumar.

India recently announced it has come up with a scheme to buffer Iran’s oil money against US sanctions after securing a waiver from Washington to continue oil imports from the Islamic Republic.

People familiar with the matter told Bloomberg on Wednesday that India will deposit payments for crude oil imported from Iran into escrow accounts of five of their banks held with state-run UCO Bank Ltd.

“Payment into multiple escrow accounts will reduce the risks of Iranian bank accounts being frozen in case the US brings new banks under sanctions,” they said.

India bought $9 billion of crude oil from Iran in the financial year that ended March 31, during which the south Asian nation took in 450,000 barrels a day.

Iran’s exports to India averaged 540,000 barrels per day this year, but they should not exceed 300,000 barrels under the exemptions given by the US last month.

Larijani: Zionists’ Atrocities Should Be Exposed to World

“This regime’s criminal measures should be exposed to the world. Making issues clear would help boost support for the Palestinian cause,” Ali Larijani said, speaking in a Saturday meeting with a delegation of Palestinian lawmakers in Tehran.

Larijani stressed Iran’s continued support for Palestine, saying it’s the duty of every honourable human to lend a helping hand to the oppressed Palestinians.

“I hope all countries in the region and the globe would strengthen their support for Palestine, so this movement become stronger,” he said.

Mahmoud al-Zahar, the head of the Palestinian delegation, said in turn the Palestine conflict is a pivot for the world’s freedom fighters.

Al-Zahar thanked Iran for its nonstop backing for Palestinians, saying Iran’s efforts to prevent the passing of anti-Palestinian resolutions is admirable.

Iran Protests Albania’s Expulsion of Diplomats, but Can’t Reciprocate

Bahram Qassemi

In response to a question by IRNA correspondent, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said “as they do not have an embassy in Iran, we did not have the possibility of summoning or expelling the Albanian ambassador or envoy.”

Qassemi’s remarks came after IRNA’s correspondent asked him why the foreign ministry has not adopted a reciprocal measure to expel Albanian diplomats after the Iranian diplomats were expelled from the European country.

The Iranian diplomat noted that Tehran has voiced its objection through other channels.

“Since the 1990s, after the domestic developments in Albania, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched its embassy in the country, but for economic reasons Albania was not able to run an embassy inside Iran,” highlighted Qassemi.

The spokesperson added that countries consider different issues, including financial and economic ones, in setting up their embassies or other consular or economic offices.

Albania’s Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that it had expelled two Iranian diplomats suspected of “involvement in activities that harm the country’s security.”

Iran condemned the move, saying the Balkan country fell prey to a scenario fabricated by the US and Israel.
