Macron’s ‘Abuse of Speech Freedom’ to Fuel Extremism, Zarif Warns

Macron's 'Abuse of Speech Freedom' to Fuel Extremism, Zarif Warns

“Muslims are the primary victims of the ‘cult of hatred’—empowered by colonial regimes and exported by their own clients,” Zarif tweeted Monday.

“Insulting 1.9 billion Muslims—and their sanctities—for the abhorrent crimes of such extremists is an opportunistic abuse of freedom of speech,” he added.

“It only fuels extremism,” Zarif warned.

His comments came after Macron pledged to fight “Islamist separatism”, which he said was threatening to take control in some Muslim communities around France.

He also described Islam as a religion “in crisis” worldwide and said the government would present a bill in December to strengthen a 1905 law that officially separated church and state in France.

His remarks, in addition to his backing of satirical outlets publishing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), have drawn widespread condemnation from Muslims across the world.

France Must Stop ‘Dangerous Game’ of Insulting Prophet Muhammad: Iran

Iran Warns Enemies of Tough Revenge for Assassination of Gen. Soleimani

In remarks on Monday, Major General Mohammad Baqeri denounced Macron’s support for the sacrilegious cartoons published by the French satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Emmanuel Macron’s anti-rights comments in support of the continued publication of profane cartoons against Prophet Muhammad, which Macron calls ‘backing for secular values,’ has once again laid bare the true colours of those who falsely claim to be advocates of human rights,” said General Baqeri, the chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
“Macron’s remarks showed they pay no respect to divine faiths,” said the general.

“Surprisingly enough, Western governments, including the French government, which have created Takfiri and terrorist groups such as ISIS, and which know nothing of pure Islam, want to attribute a violent act of terrorism to the religion of mercy, wisdom and rationality, i.e., Islam,” the top general said.

General Baqeri reiterated that liberal-democratic policies in the West have failed.
He underlined the Paris government seeks to present a bill to restrict the activities of Muslims in the country in order to cover up its own incompetence.

The top general asked intellectual elite and scholars across the world to urge French statesmen to “stop this dangerous game” and not to play with the religious sentiments of more than 1.5 billion Muslims.

Entitled “Hand-Work”, this year’s Persbook focuses on the traditions of Iran’s national art in contemporary and interdisciplinary artworks.

Instead of galleries, the works are being displayed in different spaces of the historical city of Kashan.

Directed by Neda Darzi, the artistic event will be open to visitors until November 5 in the historical house of Saheb, part of Manuchehri Residential Complex.

Iran Urges UN to Stand Up against Unilateralism and War

Iran Urges UN to Stand Up against Unilateralism and War

“Our United Nations at 75 needs to recommit itself to stand up—united—against unilateralism and war,” Zarif said in his speech to a session of the 75th UN General Assembly.
What follows is the full text of his Monday speech:

Mr. President,

Seventy-five years ago, the United Nations was founded to restore international peace and security in the aftermath of two horrific wars. But how successful have we been?
According to a new study, since 2001—ironically, the “United Nation’s Year of Dialogue Among Civilizations”—37 million people have been displaced as a result of the US “Forever Wars”.

The eight violent wars that the US initiated or joined since 2001—under the rubric of “War on Terror”—have resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, countless broken societies and families, failed and failing states and unprecedented extremism.
So today, we should be asking ourselves:

Whether our world is more—or less—secure than it was in 1945;
How we can counter the unilateralism and disdain for international law by a bully that only knows wielding a big stick and speaking arrogantly;

And how we can contain a power that has spent over 220 of its total 244 year-history in war: from the wars on its native population, to the war on its enslaved population—which continues with extreme brutality—and to the 39 military conflicts and nearly 120 economic wars—it deceptively calls “sanctions”—since 1945. Against any entity that hasn’t submitted to its whims.

Ironically, it keeps losing its “Forever Wars”.
In fact, no one wins in a war.
It’s time to change tack—saving American blood and treasure and sparing the world from further misery.

Dear Friends,
Complacency is the oxygen that the US needs to continue its bullying. US appetite only grows by appeasement; by submitting to its unlawful measures against others, in the hope of avoiding its wrath. It does not work, my friends.
Our United Nations at 75 needs to recommit itself to stand up—united—against unilateralism and war.

I thank you.

Anti-Islamism Expediting Fall of US, Zionism: Iran’s IRGC

Anti-Islamism Expediting Fall of US, Zionism: Iran's IRGC

In a statement released on Monday, the IRGC condemned the French president’s stances in support of the insults to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), describing the ant-Islamic moves as a “failed project that would accelerate the inevitable fall of the US and the Zionist regime.”

The satanic scenario for anti-Islamism has entered a new phase after the recent move by Charlie Hebdo to republish offensive cartoon of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the subsequent supports from the “witless and adventurous French president”, the statement deplored.

The IRGC also said the insults to Islam reveal the great paradox in the West, particularly in the so-called flag-bearer of freedom of expression in Europe, as France is attempting to cover up its failure to prevent the spread of Islam and growing enthusiasm for Islamic teachings.

“The rulers of the hegemony system and Zionism, which are the main supporters of the extremist and Takfiri currents and creation of horror and violence in the world, would be unable to save the crisis-hit and anti-human West from a self-created quagmire,” the statement noted.

The IRGC finally warned that the recent insults to Islam will soon draw an appropriate response from the Islamic community, beyond just a boycott of French products or protests.

Several trade associations in the Muslim nations have announced a boycott of French products, in response to recent comments made by President Emmanuel Macron on Islam.

Earlier this month, Macron pledged to fight “Islamist separatism”, which he said was threatening to take control in some Muslim communities around France.

He also described Islam as a religion “in crisis” worldwide and said the government would present a bill in December to strengthen a 1905 law that officially separated church and state in France.

His comments, in addition to his backing of satirical outlets publishing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), have drawn widespread condemnation from Muslims across the world.

Iran Introduces Package to Support Coronavirus-Hit Tourism Industry

The Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicraft said in accordance with the instructions approved by the Economic Working Group to deal with the consequences of the coronavirus outbreak, new loans are to be paid to affected businesses in the tourism sector.

Deputy Minister, Vali Teimouri, announced on Monday that the working group decided to defer the payment of all expenses and debts of tourism activists (taxes of previous years, employer’s insurance shares, repayment of bank instalments, utility bills) until the end of the current Iranian year (to end in mid-March 2021).

All tourism industry activists can benefit from at least IRR 160 million to IRR 9 billion worth of bank loans with a breathing space of about six months.

“Based on this, hotels, hotel-apartments, guesthouses and traditional accommodation centres and eco-tourism centres will receive bank loans of up to IRR 9 billion, travel agencies get between IRR 1.5 and 3 billion and tourist guides receive IRR 200 million,” noted Teimouri.

Tourism complexes, tourism training institutes, transportation companies, motels, tourism service evaluation companies and evaluators will also benefit from this package.

Iran to Decide How to End Possible US-Waged War: Top General

Major General Mohammad-Hossein Baqeri said on Monday the US military knows that if they initiate a war against Iran, it will not be up to them to end the war.

“In case of a war, it will be us that will determine when and how the war will end,” said General Baqeri, the chairman of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

“The enemy wants the Iranian nation to accept the strategies and policies imposed by the US,” he added.

“They want to drag Iran to the negotiating table. These talks have a foregone conclusion, and that would be Iran’s submission to the US,” he added.

The top commander said the criminal United States’ breach of commitments has not ended.

“The Americans withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal and opted to impose sanctions and exert pressure on the Iranian nation,” he said.

“The power, or superpower, which can be dominant in this region will be place at the top of the global pyramid of power,” the top military official said.

Macron’s Islamophobic Remarks Show He’s Politically Immature: Iran

Macron's Islamophobic Remarks Show He's Politically Immature: Iran

In a Monday tweet, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani described Macron’s “Islamophobic” remarks as “unwise behaviour” and an indication of his “political immaturity”.

“Otherwise, he would not have taken such an offensive move against Islam in order to realize his dream of leading Europe,” Shamkhani noted.

“I advise him to read history more, and not pin his hopes on the support of the declining America and the decaying Zionism,” he added.

Shamkhani’s comments came after numerous Muslim states and peoples denounced Macron’s persisting support for blasphemy in his country against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“We will not give in, ever,” Macron tweeted on Sunday. The tweet served to back up his earlier support for a French teacher’s displaying of cartoons insulting of the Prophet of Islam in his class under the pretext of “freedom of speech.”

France will never renounce caricatures,” Macron had declared on Wednesday, defending the teacher for “promoting freedom.”
