Iran’s Cultural Heritage in Photos: Tomb of Sheikh Khalifeh

Iran’s Cultural Heritage in Photos: Tomb of Sheikh Khalifeh

Tomb of Sheikh Khalifeh is located in Jazeh village, Hafar distinct in Jahrom, Fars province.

Its building dates back to the 14th and 15th centuries AD. There are six tombstones placed in parallel inside it.

The architecture of this high brick construction has a style similar to the Sarvestan Palace and the Tomb of Sheikh Yousef, two other historical buildings in southern Iran.

Like many other historical buildings in Iran, the restoration of Tomb of Sheikh Khalifeh has been delayed for many years, to the point that it seems like an abandoned ruin now.

What follows are Mizan News Agency’s photos of the tomb:

Before meeting Maduro, Zarif had conferred with his Venezuelan counterpart on bilateral, regional, and international issues.

After the meeting, the two top diplomats spoke to reporters about their views on bilateral cooperation and the future of relations between Iran and Venezuela.

Earlier in the day, Zarif attended a joint panel with his Venezuelan counterpart at Samuel Robinson Institute.

In an address to the panel, entitled “Venezuela and Iran in Defence of the Emerging Modern World”, Zarif elaborated on his views in this regard.

Iran believes the US government no longer can “control what’s happening in the world” or show other countries how to protect citizens’ rights, the Iranian foreign minister said in the panel.

Speaking two days after the US presidential election, Zarif said the era of “Western hegemony had ended” as he praised Maduro for resisting a US-coordinated campaign to oust him.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, in turn, described Venezuela’s relationship with Iran as being at its “climax” and said the Maduro administration could in future acquire Iranian weapons if it was considered necessary.

Iran Puts into Service Phase One of Major Desalination Project

Iran Puts into Service Phase One of Major Desalination Project

The first phase of the project along with three relevant projects came on line in a ceremony attended by President Hassan Rouhani.

Phase one of the project saw part of a desalination site become operational.

The other associated projects which came on stream included those supplying the required power and electricity as well as pumping stations needed to transfer water.

The projects come with a price tag of more than Rls. 160 billion, employing around 16 thousand people during the time they were under construction and 1,200 staff members after they become operational.

The major water desalination and transfer project was implemented by drawing on both domestic and foreign expertise as well as the latest technical and technological advances.

The project aims to produce some 1.5 million cubic metres of desalinated water, which will be pumped via three transfer lines for potable, industrial and mineral water.

Next US Administration Should Bow to Iranian Nation’s Will: Rouhani

Next US Administration Should Bow to Iranian Nation’s Will: Rouhani

President Hassan Rouhani noted on Thursday that the US should also submit to the international law and principles.

“It doesn’t matter who will win the US presidential election as the results may be announced by tonight or tomorrow. Whoever wins, the next US administration should bow to [the will of] the Iranian nation,” he said.

“They have no other choice but to give in to law, regulations, the pressure of public opinion, the patience and resistance of this great nation, which has withstood both the coronavirus pandemic over the past eight months and sanctions as well as hardships, and managed to stand up to all this pressure,” said the president.

He hit out at the White House for slapping sanctions on Iran amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We have always been under pressure and sanctions, but not an economic war, especially at a time of the coronavirus pandemic,” said President Rouhani.

“At a time when our people needed medicine and medical equipment, this man who is in office at the White House ruthlessly intensified the sanctions, even during the coronavirus outbreak. He intensified the war.”

The president said US officials do not comply with international law. “They did not abide by any principles, neither humane and human rights principles, nor laws and international regulations. But I’m confident that the Iranian nation will emerge victorious at the end of the day.”

Iran in Photos: Greek Ship of Kish Island

Greek Ship

One day in the hot summer of 1966 the natives of Kish Island in the Persian Gulf suddenly saw a huge Greek Ship beaching near the village of Baghu.

The reason for the merchant ship’s beaching is still behind a veil of ambiguity after many years; although it is said to have been the foggy weather and the lack of a lighthouse on the island‘s shores.

The “Greek Ship” was built in 1943 by the British shipyard William Hamilton and Company in Port Glasgow, with a weight of 7061 tons and a length of 136 meters.

The following is a photo gallery of the Greek Ship, a landmark of Kish Island, that Tasnim News Agency posted:

“We continue to focus on building great teams to meet the professional challenges and for flexibility in our day-to-day work”, – Lars Lokdam, Managing Partner at NJORD Law Firm said.

The importance of size

“Size is an important factor in our industry. Professionalism improves, large-scale operations lower costs, and being in plain sight attracts the most educated professionals. Together we can work better and more efficiently” – Lars Lokdam, Managing Partner at NJORD Law Firm said.

Brockstedt-Kaalund announced its readiness to expand its operations through a merger earlier this year. “We have been waiting to become the best player in central Jutland for a long time. It is important for us to be on the move and apply the abilities that can put our work in the first place among the Danish law firms. The association with NJORD meets our needs and the skillful balance between practices is almost perfect”, – Henrik Lyhne, Managing Partner at Brockstedt-Kaalund Law Firm informed.

Wonderful combination

After the merger, the office aims to maintain and expand the primary business areas of specialized business consulting and some areas of private consulting.

“The merger will significantly strengthen our position. In so many areas, NJORD and Brockstedt-Kaalund create an excellent combination of competencies that will benefit both our business and our customers”, – Lars Lokdam, Managing Partner at NJORD Law Firm said.

Brockstedt-Kaalund among other things has a strong insolvency team. Once combined with the best practices of NJORD, the office can carry out various tasks related to insolvency. The merger also allows for greater implementation of modern technologies – this applies both to the optimization of internal procedures and to the promotion of legal technical services for customers.

National and international ambitions.

“NJORD wishes to continue developing in Denmark with everyone who is confident in solid professional standards and a strong international profile. With the largest German-speaking office in Denmark and lawyers from all Nordic states working from the Copenhagen branches, the international level will remain our advantage”, – Lars Lokdam, Managing Partner at NJORD Law Firm informed.

Iran-US Military Conflict Totally Off the Table Now: Analyst

‘Biden’s Victory to Keep Iran’s Hardliners from Winning 2021 Votes’

In an interview with the Iranian news website Entekhab, Hassan Beheshtipour said Trump, by no means, has a political and logical mindset in his assumptions and in the way he sees domestic and foreign policy.

“He is a person who became President with just an economic and no political background. So, he basically has no understanding of the issue of talks with Iran. The most important sign of this could be assessed by considering the negotiations that led to the conclusion of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal,” he said.

“The Iran nuclear deal was the result of 12 years of initial negotiations plus two and a half years of intense talks between Iran and the P5+1 countries,” he said.

“How Trump intends to reach agreement with Iran in a week or in a month would be more based on imaginations and would only be an election campaign ploy,” the expert added.
Beheshtipour also expressed his views on the future of Iran-US relations if Trump wins in the elections and takes over the reins at the White House again.

“I believe if Trump is re-elected, we will see the White House pursue its current policy for another four years. The only different point may be the adoption of newer tactics, which would not mean a change in the US government’s strategy,” he said.

In another part of his interview, the expert weighed in on the presumed possibility of military confrontation between Iran and the United States during the second term of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Beheshtipour is of the conviction that Trump will, no means, seek a military conflict with Iran and will not take such a risk.

“Under the current circumstances when over 230 thousand people in the US have lost their lives to the coronavirus pandemic, it seems unlikely that Washington has what it takes to launch a military war,” he said.”

“A war which would be easy to start, but whose end would be out of the US control, would be very costly for the United States,” Beheshtipour added.
“Definitely, any military confrontation between Tehran and Washington will lead to a regional war,” he noted.

“The reality is that the ‘maximum pressure’ policy is not that effective, either, because in the future, supposing that Trump is re-elected President, we can predict two scenarios,” he said.
“One is that the current strategy of sanctioning individuals and small companies will continue, and the other would be that we will see a change in the US approach and Washington would move toward détente and adopting a softer approach vis-à-vis Iran,” he added.

“During their second term, most US presidents tried to make history and sought to have something go down in history in their name. Trump, too, may move in that path to leave behind a positive view of himself. So, there is a possibility, to some extent, of reaching a compromise with Iran. However, the chances of such a scenario happening are very slim,” the analyst noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Beheshtipour refuted speculations inside Iran that Tehran is acting passively in dealing with the US.

“Iran has its own special tools to deal with the United States, and the hypothesis that Trump would get more emboldened in dealing with Iran during his second term is incorrect,” he said.
“During his first term as president, Trump tried his utmost [to counter Iran]. The most significant action he took was the illegal assassination of General Soleimani. If he wins a second four-year term, Trump is likely to move forward with his policy of maintaining maximum pressure in order to make Iran implode,” he said.
