Increasing rainfall has breathed new life into Lake Urmia which has been on the brink of drying up.
A rise in precipitation levels in the drainage basin of Lake Urmia in northwestern Iran in recent months has revived the lake by increasing water levels in it.
The lake began to dry up in the mid-1990s, and, according to statistics, around 80% of its surface area vanished by 2015.
