Production of Cancer Prevention Syrup Begins in Central Iran

An Iranian researcher says the production of a cancer prevention drug titled ‘Odorata syrup’ has begun in the central Iranian province of Isfahan.

Fariborz Moattar, a researcher at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, declared that the production of ‘Odorata syrup’, a drug that can prevent cancer, has started in Isfahan, central Iran.

According to a Farsi report by Mehr News Agency, he said the syrup contains Viola odorata as one of its main ingredients and thus can be effective in preventing the recurrence of cancer in those patients who have undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Moattar added the syrup minimizes the side-effects even for those cancer sufferers who are receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The Isfahan-based university researcher noted that those individuals who are hereditarily susceptible to contracting cancer and patients suffering from the disease, will acquire immunity to it by taking the drug every day for a year.

He said since Viola odorata is a rare and expensive plant, it cannot be brewed and used as herbal tea.

Viola odorata contains cyclolide and thus has anticancer properties, he added.

Moattar went on to say that it destroys cancer cells and prevents the spread of the disease to healthy cells.
