Registered as a wetland of international importance, Gavkhouni is a well-known pond in Isfahan province, the central plateau of Iran.
Gavkhouni wetland, which was registered in Wetlands of International Importance’ list during Ramsar Convention in 1974, hosts many tourists these days.
Life has just returned into this unique ecosystem after plenty of water entered the wetland as a result of the past spring’s abundant rainfalls.
