A senior advisor to Iran's president says the enemies of the Iranian nation try to pretend that they are in favour of a particular group or party, but they have never been a friend to any of Iranian administrations.
Hesamoddin Ashna, a cultural advisor to Iranian president and presidential candidate Hassan Rouhani, said in a post in his Telegram channel, “Everyone knows that the Iranian nation has enemies. Some of our deceitful enemies try to deceive public opinion by pretending that they support a particular group or faction.”
However, he added, the Iranian nation will not be deceived.
“Our enemies have never been a friend of any [Iranian] government. The Iranian nation will go to the ballot boxes on Friday to decide its destiny, and does not need the recommendation and support of its deceitful enemies.”
“No government in the Islamic Republic is tricked by their [enemies’] plots. You are just securing your interests while putting us in trouble,” he added.
“As we witnessed in the case of JCPOA [nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers], the power stemmed from the ballot boxes will once again isolate the US radicals at the international level, and will marginalize those who consider boycotting the elections as an ‘opportunity’,” Ashna added.
“We will not anymore allow domestic hard-liners to stab us in the back in an unannounced alliance with global hard-liners and warmongers,” he noted.
